My post exam resting continues, and I don't know how long it will last, but I am enjoying every moment of it. Today I started planning a trip I'll be going on with my parents this weekend. I really like planning these kind of things, and I'm really excited to go on this trip. I really hope my anxiety won't fuck it up for me, but I am trying to focusing on the positive things, and in the worse case scenarios I have my meds to help me. Today I also took some time to try a new recipe I have never done before with my own hands. It's a family recipe both my grandmas used to make, and judging from the smell I have a good feeling about what I have made with my first attempt. I'll only be able to judge in a couple of days, but my hopes are high. I also worked on a reading challenge update post that has been in my draft for months and that I will hopefully post soon. I was also thinking about making a specific post on what I read in the year so far, but I honestly don't know how to structure it yet (so if anyone has any ideas let me know, I might look for a tag or something). I wanted to work in my garden but by the time I finished cooking I was tired and today it was way too hot for me to do a good job, so I have postponed that to the next few days.

Writing: "Effetto Luna" -- Chapter 17 is finally out! ⭐

Short chapter, short update. Short but sweet, I hope. This is the antechamber that precedes the real hot meal that I can't wait to sink my teeth into and to serve to you readers. But it was fun, anyway! I finally had the chance to rebuild and to "test" the physical and psychological tension that Luca and Alberto believe they have lost, but that perhaps can still be regained. In the meantime, I finished the second draft of ⭐Chapter 19, but I still have to copy it into the Word document, before my handwriting becomes incomprehensible even to me. I hope it will be a shorter work than I expect. I was almost hoping to start working on the chapters of ⭐"La cosa più pericolosa" again, even though I said I would only do it once I finished "Effetto Luna". I'll think about it. My summer vacation will arrive in a week, and soon I'll have more time to organize my work on the two long fic.

Not the greatest choice, but I have some chocolate at home because I am craving it sooo bad. Did some house chores, beside writing, but I still have to clean the bathroom. I'll do it tomorrow. Now… a full week of night shift, and then my vacation shall begin! I can't wait for it, because I'm exausted and I need to rest so desperately. I'm not going anywhere specifically… maybe I'll go hiking once or two. I miss my beloved mountains, even tho from my new home I can see the Dolomites very clearly every day. ⛰️​

last movie: the last film I saw in a cinema was Red, White & Royal Blue at the London premiere. Actually, now that I think of it, I took my kids to the Super Mario Bros movie more recently, but that can't be my answer, so we'll stick with RWRB.

On the tv it was Love at First Sight on Netflix, which was alright.

currently watching: rewatching Sex Education before diving into season 4. Watching the current seasons of Taskmaster and Only Murders in the Building as they air so I don't get spoiled.

other stuff I watched this year: if I was a goldfish I wouldn't even be able to find my way around my fish bowl, by which I mean my memory sucks and I can barely remember what happened on a show from week to week. I watched Succession. Loved the second season of The White Lotus (I think that was this year 😬). Season 2 of Heartstopper. Strange New Worlds. Queen Charlotte. The Night Agent. Good Omens. Starstruck. Rewatched Schitt's Creek. I'm sure there's more

shows I dropped this year/didn't finish: I started on The Americans, forgot I was halfway through but I want to get back to it. Abbott Elementary I've been dipping in and out of when I need a v chill evening. Same for What We Do in the Shadows and somehow pretty much everything I like that's on Disney+ I keep forgetting to finish. Res Dogs, Grey's, Station 19, Fleishman is in Trouble. That's weird.

I’m currently working on draft 2 of The Spirit Well, a cozy fantasy romance with higher stakes and pseudo-Regency vibes. Now that Emry, Cal, and Aspen have saved the day in The Stray Spirit, we follow the trio as they work to save a city of dying spirits...and as Emry navigates a social season to officially court Cal. 💕🌿💕

I recently read Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune, and while I don’t think it was as good as House on the Cerulean Sea, it did still make me cry like a baby at the end, so...

Last song: When I first saw the tag post it was “I wanna know what love is” by Foreigner (shoutout to my baby boy Nova <3 it was on his playlist), but between seeing the tag and actually making this post I did watch that Bad Apple r/place video so technically it’s Bad Apple. I just felt that was too obvious.

Currently watching: Ummm… things I’m in the middle of… My Adventures With Superman. Gotham, technically (we dropped off somewhere in season 2 like a year ago), and also CW Supergirl, technically (I’m only about 4 episodes in and it’s been months).

And then my anime Tuesday watch party rotates through a whole list of them so I am in the middle of uh… Komi Can’t Communicate, To Your Eternity, Bocchi the Rock, Kaguya-sama Love Is War, Natsume Yuujinchou, Witch From Mercury, and Blood Blockade Battlefront.

Also Miraculous Ladybug. Back to watching that just bc I was too happy I guess and needed something to scream about.

Currently reading: I just finished both This Is How You Lose The Time War and The House in the Cerulean Sea (I liked both, would recommend) but haven’t picked up anything new on the novel front, though next up is These Are Not The Trinity Papers. Because it's sitting on my desk now so I guess it's next.

Comics front I’m still working my way through Young Justice ‘98 and Tim’s Robin run, plus currently keeping up with Poison Ivy, City Boy, Spirit World, Green Arrow, and Batman and Detective Comics. And SMOT. And actually haven't read the last TDR, which I was keeping up with (do not recommend, unless you're like me and just want to look at pretty pictures of Tim; it's not bad per se just so deeply middling). I’ve gotten a couple months behind because I’ve been busy with new job and travel and friends… OH ALSO I did just pick up Batman/Superman World's Finest Vol 1. from the library, so that's also On The List (the list is so god damn long).

Current obsession: DC for sure, for better or for worse. I’m sure you couldn’t tell from my other answers on this. (I didn’t even mention the DC video games I’ve been playing...)

I think before I discovered The Internet I wasn't consciously aware of shipping characters who weren't together in canon -- I'm sure I DID on occasion, but it defo registered less before I started fanficcing and freaking out with other people about it.

Currently Reading:

Vagabonds! by Eloghosa Osunde. I'm actually having a good time for reading rn, hasn't been the case for a few years. I also just finished Under the Whispering Door, and Cemetary Boys, and the Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue. I'm bouncing back and forth between stuff aimed at adults and stuff aimed at teens, sometimes when my attention is bad or I'm really sad teen stuff is just easier to latch onto/more likely to have happy-ish endings. Defo finding it easier to get through books when i know there's queerness afoot. Vagabonds! is the most difficult one I've sunk my teeth into lately, it's very good but I'm getting through it a little at a time, interspersed with a re-read of ultimate gay comfort book the House in the Cerulean Sea.

I don't think I've actually watched a movie since new year's eve, so um. Titanic. Which the three of us unanimously decided to watch at new year for some reason.

Currently Consuming:

Nothing, I am HONGRY. Will go down and forage something soon I imagine, I'm keeping myself well fed enough but not deriving much pleasure from it atm. Sadly I need to cut down my salt intake a bit (nothing diet fad-y, just sincere concerns about my blood pressure lmao), and salty foods are the only ones I sincerely enjoy so bleh.

Struggling to get into new shows atm, for the first time in ages I'm actually a bit more interested in reading! I have a couple of eps of Cabinet of Curiosities left. And I'm rewatching OFMD with the family, DGHDA with a friend, and Shadow and Bone in preparation for season 2.

Last song: Probably something from my Morning playlist, which is music that is calming, instrumental, and upbeat at the same time. It’s mostly Ulrich Schnauss and Tycho. I listen to it often when I need to focus, get moving but I’m too stressed to hear words, or when driving someone somewhere and we need calming music. (A lot of calming, instrumental music is also sad, which I find very annoying.)

Last movie: I think it was Moonage Daydream actually! Gah so good. 💖 Went to a play last night (The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window) and I didn’t like it. It made me grumpy.
