*Furiously scribbling mental notes upon the folds of my brain dedicated to coming up with story ideas while watching the new Jacob Geller essay about fight scenes in movies and video games*
#although just to warn you the first quarter of that essay contains multiple reoeats of that shot#where the ip man cracks a dude’s femur in half#the fight scene as canvas to paint a character’s story!#the desperate need in both the character driven by violence & the audience for the story to resolve in one climactic final fight!#the homoeroticism of the last fight scene in MGS4#where snake and ocelot inject each other with stimulants to keep the fight going because it’s all either of them have left#and ocelot both returning to himself and giving snake the ol’ ‘russian taunt!’
