hello gaby what is 1xr and why is it for orv moots 🤲
HELLO I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED!!! it's a sci-fi game called 1000xRESIST and i think it will rewire your brain if you let it 🫴
Tumblr media
do you like doomed narratives? do you like stories written with so much love? circular storytelling and endings that recontextualize the beginning? time travel mechanics and loops? full cast of exceedingly well-written characters? women covered in blood who commit so many wrongs? nuanced themes about complex family bonds, love and sacrifice, grief and trauma, connection and communication, and the interwoven nature of past and present and future?
what about [redacted]? recurring motifs and metaphors and parallels wrapped in surreal storytelling and philosophical introspection? stories that break out of the confines of their medium? stories that will move you and break you and lovingly piece you back together?
i don't want to give too much away because this game has SO MUCH to say and i think there's so much joy in experiencing it first hand. but if any of this appeals to you i can't recommend it highly enough!!!
while i do think it has a lot of similarities to orv that novel readers would enjoy... at the same time calling it orvcore feels like a disservice because 1xR is a story that can more than stand on its own two feet. it doesn't just stand, it soars.
no other game has pierced into my heart as deeply as this one and i lost count of how many times it made me dissolve into tears.
it's an absolute masterclass in storytelling. it's poignant, thought-provoking, and gut-wrenching.
it's one of the best sci-fi stories i've had the pleasure of engaging with, period.
it's written from the heart and it shows. it will stick with me for a very long time. it's a story that remains and remains and remains.
also heads-up it's a small indie game and the gameplay is super light! it feels more like a visual novel or an interactive stage play, but trust me it still takes FULL advantage of its medium. even if you aren't big on gaming i highly encourage you to give it a try!
if you like narrative-focused stories, this is a story for you <3
