For the NPC ask, what are your character's thoughts on Thordan and the Heavens' Ward?

Kal'istae despises Thordan. She despises him for withholding the truth and perpetuating a gross lie for his own power, she despises him for falling for Ascian machinations despite being fully cognizant of their methods and their aim, and she despises him for squandering the opportunity to have a real, meaningful relationship with a son any father could be proud of. And that doesn't even include the fury she feels that he would willingly make of himself a primal to perpetuate his lies and a war that had nearly destroyed his own people.

She pities the Heavens' Ward. Though they made the conscious choice to follow Thordan, they were tempered by the church long before he got his hands on them, and the dogmatic teachings they had absorbed from childhood on only prepared them to follow the many they saw as the spiritual head of their faith without question. That said, they still had a choice, and they chose wrongly, and their deaths at her hand were rightly earned.

Thordan had Aymeric when he was 42. When he was damn old enough to know better. Out of wedlock child when you're 20, barely of Elezen age? You're a young idiot but you can be forgiven and expected to do better. Out of wedlock child at age 42? This fucker wasn't making one "oopsy" after 20ish years of pious celibacy. This was a pattern.

How many half-siblings do y'all think Aymeric has?

Haumeric, Adelphel, Noudenet. Adelphel and Noudenet in particular have those startlingly blue eyes. Weird. I'm sure it's a coincidence. Not to mention if someone resembled their mother more than their father. And what was going on with Zephirin expected to be the Lord Commander? (The only Ward member who's definitely not Thordan's son is Grinnaux de Dzemael, not necessarily because he comes from a Great House but because his skin is pretty dark.) Anyroad. I'm sure Archbishop Thordan wouldn't pull from an available pool of young men desperate for his attention when only he knew their true connection if he had something he needed loyal followers for. Nope.

Ciel was already used to the oblique stares of the locals. The Brume dwellers didn't pay much attention to him, but in the upper city, it was a different story. They pointed their fingers at him, sniggering behind his back.

"It's okay." It was the members of the noble houses who annoyed him the most. ‘Look at that half-breed Millie, isn't that a sad sight?’ ‘Yes, Mistress. It couldn't be sadder.’ The girl from an obviously noble house laughed melodiously. ‘ And yet he's called a man. What a joke.’ ‘Calm down. Ignore them.’

‘Rumour has it that he's a charge of the Heavens Ward, Mistress.’ ‘I don't understand why distract their attention with this wretched creature. He won't be accepted into the Ward anyway.’ ‘It's all right, don't pay attention to stupid folk.’ However, such behaviour ruined the mood. Staying in a dejected mood, the youth still reached the Heavens Ward building. Once he entered the common room, the warm air and the aroma of tea hit his face. ‘Charibert must be drinking tea by the fireplace. Hopefully at least the second half of the day will go smoothly.’ He hoped faintly.

‘Ciel, you're just in time. Tea is almost ready.’ came the familiar voice of the inquisitor. ‘Hello,’ Ser Zephirin said quietly. ‘Why are you so gloomy kid?’ Ser Ignasse inquired. ‘I'm sorry, I was just thinking. Everything's fine!’ ‘Good, good,’ muttered Сharibert taking a sip of tea. ‘Hey little fella!’ The ever-cheerful Guerrique tussled Ciel's blond hair. ‘Look at what we found for you!’

‘Enough Guerrique!’ Сiel laughed for the first time that day. ‘What is it?’

‘Ta-dam!’ Guerrique pointed triumphantly at a stool standing off to the side. ‘Next time you argue with Grinnaux, be sure to use it. At least you won't have to crane your neck so much.’ Paulecrain's laughter sounded nearby. ‘Now you're on equal footing, at least in height.’

Some seconds after, Damien, Ser Zephirin and Ser Charibert went out. Stellaris prayed they didn't consider gazing above them.

None of them are nearby. -Charibert looked around. -You assured to the Archbishop this ball would award a succesful capture. -Zephirin remarked. -Lord Damien, you persevered about the lady not being a grave issue. -They could not go that far. If you look for them inmediately, you will probably find them soon. Do as you please with the Azure Dragoon when you capture them, but I want my dear niece unharmed. -Damien commanded. -Is it clear?

Once Damien left, the two knights were alone. Then, each of them parted ways to inspect the area.
