Unfortunately for everyone, myself the most, I have developed a new crush. He is just my type (casually very insane, absolutely way too much) and has literally one passion in this life (dogs, his dogs, 2 twin pit bulls)
Anyway when I went over to smoke a joint, we didn’t even really smoke it, it was just an act, (was I supposed to stay?). Anyway he told me that his girl dog NEVER likes people when she first meets them (she rested her head in my lap and went to sleep). Anyway he offered multiple times to let me crash at his place? He said im the second person who’s been there (besides his best friend, who I’ve also already met? Because he came into work?)
I hate to be a cliche but I am a bartender briefly in lust with a line cook who offered to make me a full meal when I went to his place after work (where he offered to make me food more than once).
He is one of the more autistic people I’ve met in a while and it’s been a long time since ive felt that safe to be that side of me.
#crush posting#the great thing about working in the service industry is the turnover#I constantly have a new crush#a crush is just a code word for “person I would have already fucked if i was 10% more self destructive#however I like my job#and would like to keep it#so I don’t cook every hot person my boss hires#(he only hires hot people - at this point it’s a joke that we have said to him)

5 Scariest Things You Should Know About Business and How to Solve Them
Starting and running a business can be incredibly rewarding, but it also comes with its share of challenges. Some of these challenges can feel downright scary, especially for new entrepreneurs. Here are five of the scariest things you should know about business and practical solutions to overcome them.
1. Cash Flow Issues
One of the biggest fears for any business owner is running out of money. Poor cash flow is one of the primary reasons businesses fail, especially in the early stages. This problem can arise from slow-paying clients, unexpected expenses, or overestimating revenue projections.
Solution: Create a detailed cash flow forecast that outlines expected income and expenses. Regularly review and update it to identify potential cash flow shortages early. Also, maintain a financial buffer or emergency fund and negotiate better payment terms with clients and suppliers.
2. Uncertainty and Risk
Business environments are constantly changing, and uncertainty can feel overwhelming. Economic downturns, shifting market trends, or new competitors can create risks that threaten your business's stability.
Solution: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor actions, and economic indicators. Diversify your revenue streams so that you're not dependent on a single product, service, or customer base. Having a risk management plan in place can help you navigate unexpected challenges more effectively.
3. Customer Acquisition
Attracting new customers is essential for growth, but it can be difficult and expensive. Many businesses struggle with getting the word out, building a brand, or keeping up with marketing trends.
Solution: Develop a strong marketing plan that leverages both digital and traditional media. Use social media, content marketing, and SEO to improve visibility and attract potential customers organically. Investing in PR, like partnering with a reliable firm, can help increase brand awareness and credibility.
4. Hiring and Managing Talent
Building a great team is critical for success, but finding and retaining the right employees can be difficult. High turnover rates, unmotivated staff, or a toxic workplace culture can severely impact your business.
Solution: Create a positive company culture that values transparency, communication, and recognition. Offer competitive compensation, growth opportunities, and a supportive work environment. Invest time in finding the right candidates who align with your company’s mission and values.
5. Burnout and Stress
Running a business requires long hours, constant decision-making, and juggling multiple roles. This can lead to stress, burnout, and negatively affect both your business and personal life.
Solution: Practice effective time management, delegate tasks to capable team members, and take breaks to recharge. Prioritize work-life balance, and set realistic expectations to avoid overextending yourself. Consider outsourcing non-core tasks to reduce the workload.

Why Order Management is Important in the Food Industry
Effective order management is paramount in today's food service industry. Customers have many ways to order food. From delivery services to mobile pick-up apps, restaurants can accept orders from multiple sources. It's a great way to maximize revenue. But if you can't manage those orders, your business will suffer.
Fortunately, software for restaurant order management does the heavy lifting for you. Here are a few reasons why good order management is important for businesses like yours.
Better Order Fulfillment
Imagine how overwhelming things can get for your restaurant without software managing your orders. You'd have to check multiple platforms and find a way to aggregate it all for your cooks and food prep team. It'd be a logistical nightmare!
Well-designed software for restaurant order management reduces the amount of manual work your team has to do to handle orders. It drastically improves the workflow.
Best of all, it reduces errors. Manually relaying orders from several streams can quickly lead to accuracy issues. Something as minor as incorrect quantities or a missed item can lead to substantial delays that could set your operation back.
Cost Savings
With better efficiency and accuracy comes significant cost savings. The problem with accepting orders from mobile apps, delivery services and other sources is that you often hire additional staff to manage everything. Management software eliminates that added cost, helping you save money.
But that's not all. Efficient order management software can help improve employee retention. When your business operates like a well-oiled machine, there's less turnover and more employee satisfaction. Plus, you can harness the software's analytics to improve performance across the board.
Happier Customers
Ultimately, order management improves customer satisfaction. Everyone wins when your business uses software to reduce errors and improve operational efficiency. Your customers will experience fewer issues with their orders and fewer delays.
In turn, you develop a great reputation that improves your business. Happy customers lead to greater success. If you want to see improvements across your operation, developing solid order management practices can help you get there.

EXPLODE Your Service Business $200M Tommy Mello
A successful business requires a business mentality. If you want to succeed in your business, you need to think like one. Learn how to lead, not just how to work. This is how Tommy Mello made his career soar. The focus of his leadership development was not on how to solve problems but on how to improve his leadership abilities. Your mindset should be focused on cultivating your team. For him, he can hire a subject matter expert to solve problems he cannot solve. Rather than being ashamed, he encourages us to ask for help and find the best people for the job. The end goal should be to manage these people and grow your business by managing them, not to do everything yourself.
In today's episode, we discuss leadership, culture, marketing systems, and recruiting the right people for your business. Be inspired by Tommy Mello's story and learn how he elevated his business. This episode provides you with an inside look at his secrets and strategy.
Tommy Mello owns A1 garage door service. Six years ago, he began his podcast to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses. He is a note-taker, and every time something comes up in his head, he writes about it. His success inspired him to write the first book Home Service Millionaire, and he then wrote Elevate, a book about attracting and developing a winning team. You can buy his book using this link: www.elevateandwin.com/keith
“I never call people my employees. I like to call them internal customers. I like to call them my coworkers. I like to call them my team.”
- Tommy Mello.
Topics Covered:
0:33 - “Tommy Mello built a home service business specifically in the garage door industry from scratch up to 30 million 50 million, and now they're doing 200 million this year. He has over 700 employees.”
Introduction to Tommy Mello.
2:04 - “I love what I do, man, and I'm opening up doors. The first thing I start with every speech I do is I'm in the garage for business. I'm in 23 states. If you like what we do, use our company, and see how we do things, but also have a graduate company looking to partner up with a great company that's going to take care of your internal customers, that's us. So at building little marketers out there. It's amazing what happens when you give. It's the byproduct of giving just good things happen.”
Tommy shares how he got started in the business. He never refers to his employees as employees; he calls them his team. It's that kind of approach that builds a great leadership team.
7:27 - |You guys are welcome to see my price book. And they never knew what he was doing so much better. While he was marketing to the right customers at the right time. He was branded correctly, and he didn't have turnover. And so you got to pay your people the right amount. Otherwise, your guy quits who's running the warranty call for the customer. They're not there who's running on weekends and nights To the holidays, oh, they're not there because they didn't treat my employees right. They didn't pay them appropriately to a living wage, they weren't able to be homeowners. So they had to move farther out away from the city. And now they can't work for me because they didn't make enough money. So I think the byproduct of taking care of people is your customers get handled in the same day service, they got the right parts, they got a trained technician that cares.”
Paying your employees appropriately was Tommy's main point. A good salary won't make them leave you. It is the byproduct of paying people what they are worth that they provide good customer service. Therefore, you must set your price high enough to cover the cost.
12:35 - “A lot of times when I was smaller and business, I thought I was saving money by buying used trucks and not hiring the best and not getting the best trainers. And I thought I'd just help. But then I realized that I was actually losing money because things weren't hitting the finish line, and things weren't getting done. And it was kind of a hodgepodge put together. And all these ideas without hiring the best consultants, without reading books, without listening to great podcasts, without getting learning at great speaking events. I realized I was actually kind of shooting myself in the foot. I was actually making my life harder. And I thought I was going to be an expert at everything, but I became a jack of all trades, a master of none. Then I started investing in myself and everybody around me. And that conclusion has been very positive.”
Tommy admits that he can't do everything by himself. His secret to success is hiring the best of the best. Having a jack-of-all-trades approach won't help you succeed. It's important to stay on track with your schedule. Leadership skills can be improved by recognizing your weaknesses.
20:10 - “ I never want to be the bad guy. I'm not a good, bad guy. I'm not good at firing people. In fact, I'm probably too lenient on second or third chances. But I've really empowered my team. And I think that that's something that most business owners fail out.”
Don't be afraid to make big decisions and praise those around you. Encourage your team to make their own decisions and recognize their achievements.
38:06 - “I learned the simple formula without a budget without numbers. How much are you spending as a percentage of revenue on marketing? And if it balloons for one month, why? what's working and what's not, when you can reinvest the things that are working all the time, and the evidence is clear, because you've got data integrity to make sure the numbers are right, then it's basically a compass. And you just got to follow TrueNorth to get where you want to go. And the CRM and the accounting tools allow you to do this, but a lot of people go accounting or smiling. I don't want to budget. It's too much work. And it is a lot of work. It's a lot of work to get it right. But when it is right, you'll find the Holy Grail.”
Tommy loves numbers, he's always calculating and computing. When it comes to business, numbers are very important to him. He ensures they meet their monthly KPIs. Every department maintains a scorecard to track performance.
46:12 - “I want to see their six-month plan, their one-year plan, their three-year plan, their five-year plan, and then I want to show them how it could help them hit their goals. Same thing with vendors, the same thing with anybody. And that's the whole meaning of the word Elevate. You get to win when they win. And it doesn't need to be losers.”
Tommy explains why he wrote Elevate and what the book title means to him.
Key Takeaways:
“People used to talk about me on Facebook before the podcast and say he's our villain. He is such a prick. He comes into our market. He takes our employees. He raises prices, and he charges too much. And others like, well, Tommy's a pretty good guy. I'm making a lot more money now. The employees are happier. My clients are happier, and my vendors are happier because our product mix is better. So they all won. And that's the hard part for people to comprehend. And it just doesn't make sense. But it works.” - Tommy Mello
“I really believe these things, and I just have you got an opportunity to grow to be whatever you want. I'm here to help you get to where you want to be. I want to know your dreams, your goals, and what you want out of life. And if we could work on these together, what do I get out of it? Number one, I love homeowners. We had two new homeowners last week. We got a new kid that came into the Awan family two weeks ago. It's amazing. Right now, yesterday, my guy rest of the hospital's wife's pregnant. I don't know if she has had the baby yet. But I love this stuff. So that's amazing. But what's also amazing about it is when they're winning, I'm winning. I tell them if their dreams are coming true, I know mine are. My dream has to be big enough for all your guys' dreams to fit inside. So when I watch every one of your dreams start to come true. The byproduct is I know, I know, I'm successful when you guys are hitting your goals because the way I designed the pay structures is it's inevitably that outcome.” - Tommy Mello

The Importance of Leadership Learning and Development
Leadership learning and development is a critical part of building the skill sets that you need for your business to thrive in today’s rapidly changing environment. A well-designed program can help you to prepare your employees for what comes next and keep them motivated as they work towards achieving organizational goals.
It is also a good idea to ensure that your leadership training at https://www.sherpacruise.com/services is in line with the specific needs of your organization, focusing on the skills and capabilities that will be most beneficial in the years to come. This way, you can be sure that your training will give your company the edge it needs to succeed in today’s competitive business landscape.
Developing leaders is not only essential, but it is also a cost-effective way to improve the overall productivity of your organisation. Many companies find that their turnover costs are significantly lower when they have a strong leadership development program in place. Look for more facts about coaching at https://www.encyclopedia.com/social-sciences-and-law/economics-business-and-labor/businesses-and-occupations/leadership.
Effective leaders are able to motivate teams and inspire them to perform at their best. They are also able to quickly respond when problems arise and are able to direct staff to carry out their duties in the most efficient manner possible.
The ability to communicate effectively is a key aspect of effective leadership, and your ability to be a clear communicator can make all the difference in how you work with people inside your organization and outside it. It is important to consider your own strengths and weaknesses in this area and be prepared to develop as a leader.
Understanding how emotions affect a person’s behavior is another important skill that you can enhance through your leadership development program. This is vital to avoiding interpersonal conflict, maintaining productive relationships and ensuring that everyone on your team feels included in decision-making processes.
Using a variety of methods, such as action learning and volunteer assignments, your leadership learning and development program can help you to practice applying the skills that are most important for your particular role in the business. This can include things like volunteering for a board or committee position within an industry association, taking on a strategic project assignment or working across business units to learn how to lead other managers and their teams.
It is also an excellent opportunity to build your own networks, making connections with people in your own business and those outside it that will be able to help you in the future. Some organizations even offer their own internal networking groups or round tables where you can get to know more people and talk about business issues and challenges in a less formal environment.
When you have a great leadership training program in place, your employees will be more likely to stay with the company longer, as they will feel that management cares about their career growth and is dedicated to helping them reach their full potential. They will also be more likely to take on additional responsibilities and contribute more to the business. Be sure to read more now!

What is self-storage?
Self-storage, which means individual storage. People get tired of cluttering balconies, garages, apartments, and dachas with unnecessary but dear to the heart, and here they come to the aid of individual or small storage warehouses.
The premises for individual storage is usually a room with a separate entrance, access to which has only the client's self-storage.
In such warehouses, most often accumulated things that one feels sorry to throw away, furniture, seasonal clothing, and organized storage of tires are stored. This is a relatively new phenomenon in Europe, but it has recently gained some popularity among small and medium-sized businesses and individuals. However, this type of storage in Dubai is very popular, and the best representative of such storage is dubai storage.
The idea originated in the U.S. in the 50s, and at the moment, this storage method is the most popular in America. The business has thousands of warehouses and brings billions of dollars of income. Europe has appreciated the American idea, and self-storage has developed in France, Germany, Italy, Britain, and many other countries. There are also representatives of this direction. First, the American company is the leader in this area and works all over Europe, and some only in France.
According to statistics, for every U.S. resident, including infants and Indians, there is 0.7 sq. m. for storage of their belongings. Annual industry turnover is about $22 billion. The total area of self-storage facilities in the U.S. - is more than 210 million square meters. m and the growth of this market in 2010 was 4-5%. A characteristic feature of the demand is that service members lease 4% of all self-storage facilities. In Europe, self-security started developing in the late 1980s - early 1990s. In 10 years, the turnover of this industry reached about 4 billion euros, with 5000 warehouses all over Europe. Self-storage complexes operate in Italy, Great Britain, Germany, and France. There are over 650 such warehouses in Great Britain, 170 in France, and 100 in Holland. The growth of the self-storage market in Europe is 5-7% per year. Remote storage facilities are widespread in Australia as well.
The functioning of warehouses of this format in the world turned out to be in demand much earlier.
Such a warehouse, in most cases, is insured and provided with a centralized security system. In this case, each owner has an electronic key or access code to the box, the area of which can range from 3 square meters to 30 square meters and, if necessary, more. This service is in demand not only by private individuals but also by legal entities. Tens of thousands of companies have problems where to put their paper files and furniture when moving; some things are constantly being released that clutter the living space. Some logistics companies provide, as ancillary, storage services, packaged stuff in a shared warehouse, and offer seasonal storage of bicycles and car tires. They also stock furniture, fishing rods, bikes, tires, and more.

Taxes are for the little people
If you wanna do crimes, make them incredibly complicated and technical. Like the hustlers that came into the bookstore I worked at and spun these long-ass stories about why they needed money for a Greyhound ticket home.
Those guys shoulda studied the private equity sector.
Private equity's playbook is to borrow giant sums by putting up other peoples' companies as collateral (yes, really). Then they use that money to buy the company they mortgaged, and pay themselves a huge dividend.
Then they sell off the company's assets and pay themselves even more money. That leaves the company in a state of precarity - assets they once owned, like their buildings, they now rent. If the rent goes up, they have to find the money to cover it.
All of this forms a pretense for mass layoffs, defaulting on pension obligations, lowering product quality, stiffing suppliers and borrowing more money. If the company doesn't go bust, the PE looters can flip it to *another* PE company, that does it again.
Whenever you see something really terrible happening to a business that once offered useful products and services and paid decent wages, it's a safe bet that PE is behind it. Toys R Us, Sears, your local hospital - and that memestock favorite, AMC.
https://pluralistic.net/2020/04/12/mammon-worshippers/#silver-lake-partners
Private equity goons make their money in two ways: the first is by pocketing 20% of these special dividends and other extractive policies that hollow out business.
This is money at PE managers get paid for spending their investors' money. It's a wage, in other words.
But thanks to the "carried interest" loophole (a hangover from 16th-century sea captains that has nothing to do with "interest" on loans), they get to treat these wages as "capital gains" and pay far less tax on them.
The fact that we give preferential tax treatment to capital gains (money derived from gambling), while taxing wages (money derived from doing useful work) at higher rates really tells you everything you need to know about our economic priorities.
https://pluralistic.net/2021/04/29/writers-must-be-paid/#carried-interest
The carried interest loophole lets PE crooks treat their salaries as capital gains, are taxed at a much lower rate than the wages of the workers whose lives they're destroying.
On top of the 20% profit-share that PE bosses get every year, they also pocket a 2% "management fee" for all the "value" they add to the companies they've taken over.
This is *definitely* a wage. The 20% profit-share at least has an element of risk, but that 2% is guaranteed.
But PE bosses have spent more than a decade booking that 2% wage as a capital gain, using a tax-fraud tactic called "fee waivers." The details of how a fee waiver don't matter because it's all bullshit, like the tale of the needful Greyhound ticket.
All that matters is that a legal fiction allows people earning *eight- or nine-figure salaries* to treat *all* of those wages as capital gains and pay lower rates of tax on them than the janitors who clean their toilets or the workers whose jobs they will annihilate.
Now, the IRS knows all about this. Whistleblowers came forward in 2011 to warn them about it. The Treasury even struck a committee to come up with new rules to fix it.
But Obama failed to make those rules stick, and then Trump put a former tax-cheat enabler in charge of redrafting them. The cheater-friendly rules became law on Jan 5, and handed PE bosses hundreds of millions in savings every year.
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/12/business/private-equity-taxes.html
The New York Times report on "fee waivers" goes through the rulemaking history, the technical details of the scam, and the gutting of the IRS, which can no longer afford to audit rich people and now makes its quotas by preferentially auditing low earners who can't afford lawyers.
But former securities lawyer Jerri-Lynn Scofield's breakdown of the Times piece on Naked Capitalism really connects the dots:
https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2021/06/private-inequity-nyt-examines-how-the-private-equity-industry-avoids-taxes.html
As Scofield and Yves Smith point out, if Biden wanted to do one thing for tax justice, he could abolish preferential treatment for capital gains. If we want a society of makers and doers instead of owners and gamblers, we shouldn't penalize wages and reward rents.
There's an especial urgency to this right now. As the PE bosses themselves admit, they went on a buying spree during the pandemic (they call it "saving American businesses"). Larger and larger swathes of the productive economy are going into the PE meat-grinder.
Worse still, the PE industry has revived its most destructive tactic, the "club deal," whereby PE firms collaborate to take out whole economic sectors in one go:
https://pluralistic.net/2021/05/14/billionaire-class-solidarity/#club-deals
We're at an historic crossroads for tax justice. On the one hand, you have the blockbuster Propublica report on leaked IRS files that revealed that the net tax rate paid by America's billionaires is close to zero.
https://pluralistic.net/2021/06/08/leona-helmsley-was-a-pioneer/#eat-the-rich
This has left the Bootlicker-Industrial Complex in the bizarre position of arguing that anyone who suggests someone who amasses billions of dollars should pay more than $0 in tax is a radical socialist (so far, the go-to tactic is to make performative noises about privacy).
At the same time, the G7 has agreed to an historical tax deal that will see businesses taxed at least 15% on the revenue they make in each country, irrespective of the accounting fictions they use to claim that the profits are being earned in the middle of the Irish Sea.
That deal is historical, but the fact that it's being hailed as curbing corporate power reveals just how distorted our discourse about corporate taxes has become.
As Thomas Piketty writes, self-employed people pay 20-50% tax in countries that will tax the world's wealthiest companies a mere 15%: "For SMEs as well as for the working and middle classes, it is impossible to create a subsidiary to relocate its profits to a tax haven."
Piketty, like Gabriel Zucman, says that EU nations should charge multinationals a minimum of 25%, and like Zucman, he reminds us that the G7 deal does nothing to help the poorest countries in the Global South.
https://www.lemonde.fr/blog/piketty/2021/06/15/the-g7-legalizes-the-right-to-defraud/
These countries and the EU have something in common: they aren't "monetarily sovereign" (that is, they don't issue their own currencies *and* borrow in the currencies they issue).
Sovereign currency issuers (US, UK, Japan, Canada, Australia, etc) don't need to tax in order to pay for programs - first they spend new money into the economy and then they tax it back out again.
https://pluralistic.net/2020/06/10/compton-cowboys/#the-deficit-myth
These countries can run out of stuff to buy in their currency, but they can't run out of the currency itself. Monetarily sovereign countries don't tax to fund their operations.
Rather, they tax to fight inflation (if you spend money into the economy every year but don't take some of it out again through taxation, more and more money will chase the same goods and services and prices will go up).
And just as importantly, monetary sovereigns tax to reduce the spending power - and hence the political power - of the wealthy. The fact that PE bosses had billions of tax-free dollars at their disposal let them spend millions to distort tax policy to legalize fee waivers.
Taxing the money - and hence the power - of wage earners at higher rates than gamblers creates politics that value gambling above work, because gamblers get to spend the winnings they retain on political influence, including campaigns to rig the casino in their favor.
This discredits the whole system, shatters social cohesion and makes it hard to even imagine that we can build a better world - or avert the climate-wracked dystopia on the horizon.
But for Eurozone countries (whose monetary supply is controlled by technocrats at the ECB) and countries of the Global South (whom the IMF has forced into massive debts owed in US dollars, which they can only get by selling their national products), tax is even more urgent.
The US could fund its infrastructure needs just by creating money at the central bank.
EU and post-colonial lands can only fund programs with taxes, so for them, billionaires don't just distort their priorities and corrupt their system - they also starve their societies.
But that doesn't mean that monetary sovereigns can tolerate billionaires and their policy distortions. The UK is monetarily sovereign, in the G7, and its finance minister is briefing to have the City of London's banks exempted from the new tax deal.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-06-08/u-k-pushes-for-city-of-london-exemption-from-global-tax-deal
Now, the City of London is one of the world's great financial crime-scenes, and its banks are responsible for an appreciable portion of the planet-destabilizing frauds of the past 100 years.
During the Great Financial Crisis AIG used its London subsidiary to commit crimes its US branch couldn't get away with. The City of London was the epicenter of the LIBOR fraud, the Greensill collapse - it's the Zelig of finance crime, the heart of every fraud.
UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak claims banks are already paying high global tax and can't afford to be part of the G7 tax deal. If that was true, it wouldn't change the fact that these banks are too big to jail and anything that shrinks them is a net benefit.
But it's not true.
As the tax justice campaigner Richard Murphy points out, the risk to banks like Barclays adds up to 0.8% of global turnover: "The big deal is that the 15% global minimum tax rate is much too low. Suinak has yet again spectacularly missed the point."

Endemic low pay represents a threat to the very future of the NHS, the head of the biggest union representing health staff has warned ahead of an expected wave of strike action this winter.
Strike action over pay seemed “inevitable”, said Christina McAnea, the general secretary of Unison, even though a formal ballot of staff in England, Wales and Northern Ireland only opens later this month, while the process is ongoing in Scotland.
Unison was likely to coordinate with other unions in the NHS to increase the impact of any stoppages, and could also liaise with strikers in other sectors such as transport, she warned.
It came as the head of the Unite union, Sharon Graham, predicted on Sunday that up to 1 million people in various areas could soon be on strike at once.
Speaking to reporters before the Trades Union Congress conference that begins in Brighton on Tuesday, McAnea, whose union represents more than 400,000 health staff including nurses, cleaners, porters and administrators, said workers felt there was no other way to get their message across.
“It’s this core of the NHS, the registered professional staff, who are telling us they just can’t survive on the pay levels they’ve got,” she said.
While healthcare is devolved across the UK, NHS staff in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, excluding doctors and dentists whose pay is assessed separately, have been offered a pay rise of £1,400 a year.
For many staff such as nurses this amounted to about 4%, McAnea said, compared with an inflation rate of close to 10%. Even for lower-paid staff the lump sum was a pay rise of little more than 7%, she said.
“Strikes are inevitable,” she said. “And strikes are a symptom of things going wrong. It’s not a coordinated political campaign to bring down the government. We bring our members out on strike when we reach the point where there’s no other alternative.”
Low pay has been identified as a key reason for NHS staff shortages, with more than a quarter of trusts in England operating food banks for staff. Asked if pay represented an existential threat to the health service if not addressed, McAnea said it did.
“One of the big problems we’ve got with the NHS is the turnover of staff. They can’t recruit staff at a load of grades now,” she said. “The retail sector and Amazon are paying more in some areas. And no disrespect to people who work in retail or in Amazon warehouses, but I think that’s a less stressful job.
“I’m not a great one for conspiracy theories. But I do wonder if this is a deliberate policy, to run down the NHS so much so they can turn round and say, look, it’s failing, let’s bring in some private companies. I think the British public would oppose that, but it’s kind of happening by stealth.”
Stoppages are unlikely to begin before Christmas except in Northern Ireland, where the law on industrial disputes is different. They would probably be short term to begin with and would require the union to negotiate what level of staffing was needed to maintain “life and limb” emergency cover. However, McAnea said, given the staff shortages this may not be notably different to what happens normally.
“We’re pretty certain that they will come back to us with proposed safe staffing levels which are higher than we’ve got at the moment,” she said. “Our members feel that the situation is already so bad, they don’t think it will get any worse when they take action. What it will do is draw attention to just how bad it is in the NHS.”
McAnea said that while the Scottish government seemed open to negotiations – the offer there is 5%, also rejected by the union – Unison had repeatedly sought contact with Liz Truss and Thérèse Coffey, the health secretary, with no response.
“The government, instead of demonising unions, has to recognise that it’s their responsibility to come back and talk to us,” she said. “How is the government going to frame this, when it’s our members taking strike action?
“Are they seriously going to tell a healthcare assistant who worked all through Covid and is on £18,000 or £19,000 a year, ‘You’re holding the country to ransom’? Are they going to say, ‘You’re being irresponsible’? Are they going to say they’re an enemy of progress and an enemy of growth?”

3 Main Competitors within your field
Market competition is very common in all industries. The width of the competition may vary based on the industry, market situation, and customer group. My business field is bookkeeping and accounting services. There are multiple accounting firms in my area, but I feel the following accounting firms will be my competitors:
BDhillon Professional Corporation:
Their focus is on small business bookkeeping and accounting services. They are almost 19 years of serving in the industry. They provide all kinds of services that I plan to provide excluding that they do the review engagements and companies with a gross income of multi-millions. The accountant has a lot of public relations which will be a great asset for them to get more clients through referrals. Even though the company is well known and provides excellent services, the main concentration is on the medium-big business, where they can make more profit. So, the small businesses may not get enough attention which I can utilize for my business. And they are not very active in social media.
VN Accounting solutions:
Their focus is also on small business bookkeeping, and they provide excellent bookkeeping services. They are outsourcing a lot of accounting services to India; they will be able to provide the services at a low rate. And they are already in the industry for more than 10 years. Even though their services are good, there are having a lot of labor turnover, which we can see on indeed frequently. so, clients may get worried about their work status.
Paresh Hemavat CPA professional corporation:
This corporation also has a focus on small to medium-size businesses. The company ownership changed from Glen Williams to Paresh CPA in early 2021 and again in Dec 2021. They are well known in the industry with very good reviews. They also have the option to provide services at client locations. That will be a good chance for the clients to have an expert in their firm to do their bookkeeping, which will be really a big challenge for me. But the bad thing is they are not very active and UpToDate on the social media after new ownership.
After reviewing all 3 competitors I am confident that I can provide the services in a better way, at a reasonable rate. They don’t have an option t pick up from client locations and provide the services remotely at regular intervals, which I can offer. Anyway, wait for my luck!

Oven Repairs
Which are the important factors when choosing the best repairer for your oven or stove? The following list should be a good start: Do you need an electrical contractor or gas fitter? Does the technician have the proper certification? Does the organisation have the proper Permits i. e. electrical contractors license? What are their charges? What Brands do they service? How do ones own warranties compare? Do they have the rights parts on board? Are they members of a peak body connection? Do they have published policies and procedures? Well, seems simple enough, or at least if you read enough blogs and forums etc . you will find many variations on the above list stating their method/list/tips are the panacea for your dilemma; choosing the right repairer! The reality is vastly different. Most people needing their oven or stove repaired don't have time to generate a list and methodically check it off before making a booking. Worse still, in little Adelaide you will be limited to a handful of truly professional repairers who repair ovens and stoves for a living, where their abilities, resources, stock, parts etc match your requirements. So what can you do that is quick and easy while still improving ones own chances of getting a good repairer? If you don't have time to read the complete article, you can jump to the summary at the end in the article, meanwhile the advice I can give in one sentence is two things: Remember a) most serious appliance repairers will tell you what you want to hear, and b) you only get what you pay for... If you're lucky! Nevertheless If you're interested in the scenic version, great, we will revisit some of the bullet points above and with any luck fine tune on your bull-dust radar. Q. Does the technician have the right certification? A. Yes Keep in mind most will tell you what you want to hear. But the real answer lies in a lengthy discussion. For example; is your appliance utility or gas. Then we need to decide if the problem is electrical or gas. Most gas ovens and stoves have electrical systems within them, which, if the oven or stove is hardwired, requires a authorised electrician to carry out the repair. If the oven or stove has an electrical fault and the unit is not hard " cable ", then the chances are the average refrigeration mechanic can undertake the repair legitimately. But and isn't there constantly a but, how do you know if the unit is hardwired? And how do you know if the unit has an electro-mechanical or gas fault. Most customers won't know! The reason these clever lists are often not all that useful is that you have no way of knowing if the repairer has told a white lie or not. In fact ,, they don't either. They need to see the job before making that judgement. And here is the reason they told people what you want to hear; because most will collect a minimum payment at the first visit regardless of whether they can complete that repair or not. The more professional repairer will tell you who you need to call, but for them, the payback has already been achieved; that being payment for the first visit. Q. What are your charges? A. Various. Several will state a call out fee, plus a rate. Most call out fees include some optimum time limit i. e. 1/4 or 1/2 an hour. Some will qualify a fixed charge. Many will don't include the GST. But you, being a switched on individual, googled for a repairer that doesn't charge a call out charge. Well, before you pat yourself on the back too hard, make sure you ask "what the minimum charge will be". Many repairers are responding to the pressures of what we refer to as the "Deal Shoppers" who ring available town and compare prices and select the cheapest price. Those who book a call with the cheapest deal infrequently end up getting the best repair. And if they do get a cheap job, there are generally good reasons underpinning that flexibility, i. e. cutting corners, fitting cheap or second hand parts, not paying insurances, not paying proper wages, not using qualified tradespeople, not being careful to refit covers and alike with almost all their screws and safety harnesses and the list goes on. Remember, you only get what you pay for. Q. What labels do they service? A. Your brand! - Because it's what you want to hear! Most will tell you they are able to service your brand, and for the most part that's true. On the other end of the scale are the brand certain repairers who are generally proud of the brands they service as it reflects their status in the industry. They support it out like a badge of honour and will tell toot sweet if they don't service your company. Specialists will carry more parts for a given brand, so their chances of completing a job during the primary visit is higher than someone who repairs everything and anything. The compromise for brand specific repairer is the list of appliances that brand covers i. e. ovens, stoves, washing machines, dishwashers, range-hoods, microwaves, dryers and others. Which means the space for oven or stove parts compete with pumps, and motors and seals in addition to timers of the other appliances. Look for the repairer who specialises in your brand oven or stove. Queen. What is your warranty? A. 12 months! Or at least that is the most likely answer, because it's what you want to check on. But this is a complex piece of consumer legislation. There are two facets of warranty, labour and materials. The normal service for Labour is 3 months. Both of which the court will throw out the window if it is a issue before them. But these periods serve as a reasonable guide. The catch is in the judgement. When a repairer has to return to a job to repair a recall, how do you judge if the work that was done is the purpose or if the cause is a different fault altogether. There is a better than good chance the latter is the condition. Those companies that offer longer warranties know that the chances they will have to cover the cost of repairs under the terms with warranty are very low. In fact , it has the added benefit of acting like a loyalty program. If the warranty reaches to say 5 years or 10 years or even a lifetime warranty remember you are unlikely to be able to judge if the warranties fault is what was previously repaired. So , for the period of the extended warranty you will call the warranting corporation first in the misguided belief the work will be done for free, which is true for very few, if any of people return visits. Remember, if it seems too good to be true... it probably is. Q. Do they also have the right parts on board? A. Yes - Because it's what you want to hear! Service vehicles have limited breathing space, as such high turnover/high profit parts represent the largest volume held. Repairers often qualify the part(s) tend to be held in stock. But that does not mean it is in the van that is designated for your job. No maintenance company doing major appliance service work is able to maintain an accurate up to date van stock. Which means more likely as compared to not, staff taking the booking have no idea what's in the van. Stock held in the van is only an individual problem, the second is the quality of the part. Elements, thermostats, hinges, door seals, etc . are not made by the brand name manufacturer. Elements for instance are made by dozens of manufacturers, but they generally only make elements. Brand manufacturers get their elements from the more reputable suppliers, subject to a contract. However those same elements are also that is generated by copy manufacturers. Some are good quality, some are dubious. But the difference is the price. Cheaper elements can come for up to 50% cheaper than the higher quality elements. Q. Is the repairer a member of an Association. A. Yes : you guessed it, because that is what you want to hear. Electricians are often members of NECA the National Electro-mechanical Contractors Association. The question is, how does that help you qualify the repairer is a bonafide, quality user? Simple, it doesn't! This group are really about electrical contractors who wire building - big and small to medium sized. AIA Appliance Industry Australia is probably the main relevant association. Sadly in South Australia that will limit want you to one repairer, Electrolux. My experience is that the Major Appliance Repair industry is just too small to support the true work necessary to validate a repairer as a bona fide quality operator. Just because the repairer is a member of a link doesn't mean they will be held to a higher standard of repair. Q. Do they have published policy along with procedure. A. Hopefully yes, but more likely no . However , this is a valid means of improving your chances of acquiring a quality repairer. But really who wants to or has time to read a companies policy and procedure in advance of making a booking. No one. And then there is always the probability that the written documents, if they are made available are internet marketing tools rather than the method and means by which the repairer operates. Having access to a repairers policy and process is helpful, but only if a) you have time to read and understand them and b) if you can verify people conform to them. SUMMARY If you can't be bothered reading the long version above, here's the abbreviated edition. Make sure you qualify the minimum payable charge at the outset. No call out fee, does not mean "Free". Permanent price repairs is a valid advantage for simple repairs. Because these repairers need to complete the work just a limited period of time and visits to remain profitable. They generally limit their time to half an hour on the first job. Typically they do not undertake complex diagnostics or repairs. When engaging a repairer who qualifies "Free quotes" make sure that the quote is obligation free and that your appliance remains in your care. Most repairers who make available free quotes recoup their quotation costs via a margin built into the repair work. However , if you don't progress with the repairs, a fee is normally forth coming. Ask if there is additional costs if a return visit to fit in parts is required. Most repairers have a margin built into the parts, but others don't and add a demand for travel. Cheap or second hand parts are impossible for you to screen for. Here you rely on a gut feel and experience. If they drive a beat up old van, wear greasy - torn clothing, look unkempt you can probably expect to get ripped off. But that doesn't mean, just because they come in a thoroughly clean van all dressed to impress that they are honest quality operators, but generally your chances improve. A great way technicians shorten their time on the job is to bend covers, leave screws out and generally damage sections that can't be seen. They fail to re-clip or secure cables etc . Again this is difficult to display for, but can generally be measured by the number of jobs they book a day. 8 calls on a daily basis is a fairly busy day. If they do more than 10 jobs a day or complete jobs in quarter-hour or less you can safely assume they are taking short cuts. Long waiting times for parts are standard in this industry. Some are valid and some are not. Some repairers use parts as a means to improve their reserving efficiency. These repairers know you won't wait very long for the initial visit, but when they have collected profit for the initial visit you are committed to wait for the return visit. Try to get a gauge for how long sections will take before making the initial booking. This wont overcome the problem, but might help manage your expectations. Bear in mind... you only get what you pay for and only if you're lucky. That is a fundamental law of business, as rock solid as being the law of gravity. Make sure you know why the differences exist; only then are you ready to make an informed selection on repairs. Finally, being a deal shopper doesn't mean you will get the "best repair". The 'best repair' is buried in the fine detail and only those people with lots of time to diligently check of their list of do's and even dont's can be confident of getting the best deal. Deal shopping is shortsighted and ultimately the most likely ways to getting a shonky repair rather than a quality one. For those of us who are time poor and have better things to do with the life than trawl the internet for hours and hours, the best way to be confident of getting a good repairer is to try to look for those repairers who specialise in your brand product, be prepared to pay a fair price and if you are happy with your results tell your friends and hang onto their business card.

4 Proven Ways to Inspire Your Employees to Care About Your Customers
Customer service is a paradoxical business function. Although the nature of customer requests are repetitive by nature, your customer service is supposed to deliver a personalized experience to each customer.
This uncertain nature of customer support can sometimes open a can of worms for both the customer service professionals and the customers. While the service professionals get their jobs done to the bitter end, it often leads them to burnout, mental health issues, and a host of other problems.
That’s probably the reason why the call center industry in the U.S. has an average turnover rate of 45%, one of the highest across industries. The business impact of this problem can be huge.
The stress that your customer service employees go through can find their way to your customers. For example, when your call center staff lack motivation at work, it shows in their everyday interactions with customers. These things can lead to a general apathy towards customers, a hostile team environment, and a colossal fall in customer loyalty.
But there is hope. You can train your customer support teams to care genuinely about customers if you take specific steps towards improving their workplace conditions. Below, we have listed four steps you can take to start inspiring your employees to be more caring towards your customers.
#1 – Treat them like customers
Most businesses don’t treat their employees the way they deserve.
The relationship between customer experience (CX) and employee experience (EX) is highly proportional. In many ways, your employees are your first customers. To quote author Steven Covey:
“Always treat your employees exactly as you want them to treat your best customers. You can buy a person’s hand, but you can’t buy his heart; his heart is where his enthusiasm is. You can buy his back, but you can’t buy his brain…Treat employees as volunteers just as you treat customers as volunteers, because that’s what they are. They volunteer the best parts – their hearts and minds.”
Your call center employees are like therapists. They have to handle raw human emotions day in and day out. It can be a stressful job to carry out every day. Just like you offer your customers deals and discounts to buy from your brand, you’ve to provide some excellent perks to your employees to keep them motivated.
Here’s a real-world example from Wegmans, an American supermarket chain, on how you can do that.
Business magazines like Forbes and Fortune consistently rank Wegmans in their list of best places to work. The family-run Wegmans’ employee turnover rate is half than the industry average because they invest generously on their staff. They pay their staff to upskill themselves, spend more than $50 million a year on workforce training and development, and award college scholarships without any catch.
And look at what happens when a business takes this kind of employee-first approach. A stellar employee experience eventually leads to equally superior customer experience. The chain store was awarded the title of America’s #1 supermarket in 2016 by the American Customer Satisfaction Index. Customers love Wegmans as much as their employees do. For instance, Wegmans collected an average annual sales of $9.7 billion in 2019.
#2 – Give praise & recognition for good work
It’s important to recognize good customer-centric habits in your call center employees. When you praise an outstanding performance, it sets the right kind of standards among your call center employees. It also motivates others in your support team to follow suit.
Conversely, you should tread carefully when you want to reprimand poor performance. Criticizing someone in public often leads to a feeling of shame and antagonism. Legendary investor Warren Buffets put it best when he said, “praise by name, criticize by category.”
When you want to highlight good behavior, call out the person and give them a deserving grandstanding
Long-time former CEO of Home Depot Frank Blake did this; he spent most of his Sundays’ hand-signing hundreds of thank you cards for staff who went out of their ways to delight customers. On top of the personalized appreciation cards, the employees were interviewed as part of an excellent customer service story video series and made to retell the story of what they did for deserving the recognition. The videos aired in break rooms across all the Home Depot franchises for everyone to celebrate the small wins.
Public praise is the best incentive to motivate people to do what they are supposed to do. Therefore, call out good behaviors in public to establish a norm of great customer service.
#3 – Set them up face-to-face with customers
Your call center agents are hardwired to perceive customers in abstract, stereotypical ways, such as—a support ticket, the refund guy, the can-I-talk-to-your-manager lady, and so on.
The best way to break this mold and inspire empathy in your customer service teams is to make them meet your customers in flesh and blood. A handful of companies that we work with do this already, and they rave about how powerful this exercise is.
For instance, one of our B2B client companies organize a quarterly customer open house day and invite a random set of customers to join them over a couple of rounds of beer and pizza. But the food is just an alibi. The company’s primary aim is to interact with the customers, understand their pain points, and collect direct feedback on critical issues.
This ritual of meeting and greeting customers in an interpersonal setting has also led their support staff to develop genuine care towards the customers. When a customer shakes the hand of a customer support agent who helped them get through a technical problem, for example, it means a world to that agent. That kind of appreciation helps your staff understand the magnitude of their everyday job and inspires them to care personally about their customers.
Find ways to make your customer service teams mingle personally with your customers. It breaks down the fourth wall that stands between them and the customers and crushes the cognitive biases they might have about their customers.
#4 – Encourage them to do charity work
Inspiration can come from any direction. In the case of honing the empathy skills of your customer service teams, you can take an unlikely inspiration from Dr. Rick Goodman, an American motivational speaker, and author.
Dr. Goodman has a very simple—and somewhat unconventional—idea to create empathy in your employees. In his book, The Solutions Oriented Leader, Dr. Goodman writes:
“Align your company with a cause. Allow your employees to feel like they are adding value to the world; that they—and your company—are part of something bigger, and something good.”
There are many ways you can go about organizing charity work for your employees to take part in. Give them the necessary support to distribute food and clothes to homeless people in the downtown, sponsor your team to run for a 10K marathon to raise funds for the hurricane victims in Costa Rica, and give them the freedom to come up with their philanthropy ideas as part of your company’s CSR activities.
Charity instills a sense of giving and empathy in everyone, and it’s more effective when a team is brought together for the same mission. It’s hard to directly measure the impact social philanthropy has on your employees’ empathy, but there’s no doubt that such collective missions lead them to become more caring about the customers and makes them happier.
