You Are In Love (Ashley Sanchez x Reader)
A/N: This was requested by @redbullfanatic and I just want to say that I loved writing this! (: I hope you like it, and I hope everyone does as well (: I also hope I did it justice 🫡 also I’m sorry this took me like forever to finish 😭 (crossing my fingers and praying I did it justice)
P.S I’m nervous sweating for this 🥲 lmaoo
Oh and I highly recommend listening to You Are In Love by Taylor Swift while reading this, and make sure the repeat one song option is on 👀
You never understood why people fell in love, never understood how someone could love another person so much. You certainly didn't think you'd fall in love with someone, or understand what everyone said about falling in love.
It never crossed your mind that you could fall in love, but seeing your friends, teammates, be in love with their significant other it started crossing your mind.
Crossing your mind just a little more often, crossing your mind every time you were with the one person who understood you more than yourself.
Your best friend.
It was a late night during the season. You and Ashley had drove to your favorite spot after training, where stargazing was the only time you two seemed to enjoy each others company just a bit more.
And although you both played for the same team, you both always seemed to be caught up on something new.
“You’re like literally the best, best friend I’ve ever had.” Ashley says as she lays her head on your shoulder.
“You’ve had others before me? I feel so betrayed, hurt.” You say jokingly. "Wounded."
“See you’re just the best.”
“Well I am the best.” You say with a smirk. "No one better than me baby."
“Easy now. Don’t be too cocky. I can easily give your spot to someone else.”
“Who? Trin? The girl who can’t cook to save her life. Who’d bake you your sweets when you’re sad.”
“Damn you're so right. I guess I'll have to keep you around." Ashley says jokingly.
"You guess? Wow. I didn't know this side of you Ash."
"You know I appreciate you."
"Appreciate me? Oof. Shot after shot Ash. Come on Ash you love me." You say wrapping your arm around her. "Say it."
"You're so weird sometimes." Ashley says as she pushes you away.
"You love me, say it."
"No."
"Say it."
"No."
"Say it."
"Y/N no."
"Come on Ash say it."
"Another day when you're not threatening me."
"Threatening? So dramatic." You say shaking your head.
Bickering. It's what best friends do. And it went on the whole night.
Ashley never gave in to your ‘threat’ that night.
But that was months ago.
- - - -
You always heard that being in love was something so unique, so magical, so special. They said that falling in love would make you understand what all the fuss was about.
Apparently it also made people crazy, which made you absolutely terrified. How can love make someone crazy? Crazy in love?
It terrified you, how could love make someone crazy? Fears of loving someone was always on your mind.
Because how is that possible? Is it even possible? To be crazy in love?
Is it?
Another question that was constantly crossing your mind.
"Are you listening to me?" Rose asks you.
"I am yeah." You say turning to face her, giving her all your attention.
"So as I was saying, I told Pinoe to grab me food before the game and she forgot it!" Rose shouts, hands on your shoulders as she shook you.
"Devastating." You say shaking your head.
"So much." Rose says with a sigh, defeated, she laid back on the couch. "I was hungry."
Some of the girls from the national team met at Trinity's apartment the night before the gala you would all be attending.
You glanced up and saw Ashley laughing at whatever Trinity was saying. Typical.
"So how's this side of the country treating you?" Rose asks you with a smile. "Good I hope?"
"Good indeed." You answer, looking at Rose with a smile. "I'm liking it here."
Rose smiled at you then looked up at the ceiling, you glanced at Ashley once again only to see that she was looking at you. She smiled at you, the look on her face seemed different, but nevertheless you smiled back and looked back at Rose.
"How's Seattle treating you?" You ask, leaning back on the couch beside Rose.
"You know what? I absolutely love it there, although I don't get enough sun as you can clearly see, but still I love it there." Rose says looking at you.
"Good, you deserve that. A city that truly appreciates you." You say, Rose smiles at you as she hugs you.
"You know Ash, I say tomorrow at the gala we find a good dancing partner." Trinity says as she puts her arm around Ashley.
"That's why I have you though? Right?" Ashley says confused.
"Oh, you're right, crap. Damn you're a terrible dance partner then." Trinity says and laughs.
"Fuck you." Ashley says with a chuckle as she punched Trinity on the arm.
"You're too easy to mess with." Trinity says.
"Whatever." Ashley says as she then glanced at you, but you were so focused talking to Rose you didn't notice.
The night went on for hours, yet you and Ashley had yet to catch up since you had gotten back from your trip. It would have to wait until the following night.
- - - -
It was finally gala night. Everyone dressed nicely, all ready to enjoy the night. Or at least get through the night.
"Are you okay? You're so out of it, come on we have to go inside."
"I'm fine, I'm just tired and want to be in bed."
"Typical."
You walked into the ballroom where many players of the league had already arrived. Luckily for you the gala was being hosted in the same city you played for.
So here you were, alongside your good friend Naomi.
“Nervous?” Naomi asks you as she walks right beside you.
“A little?” You say with a nervous laugh. “It’s our second year but having to socialize is not something I want to do.”
“At least you’ll be able to reunite with Ashley. She said you two haven’t talked since the season was over?”
“I’ve been busy.”
“Right.”
“I have!” You exclaim.
“You two play for the same team, what do you mean you’re busy. Also she’s literally your best friend.” Naomi says as she pulls you to the side.
“I have brand stuff.”
“You’re such a bad liar.” Naomi says shaking her head. “Come on let’s go take a seat.”
You followed Naomi, trying your hardest to not make eye contact with anyone because socializing was something you were trying to avoid.
“Y/N! Where were you! I thought we were coming together.” Trinity says as she hugs you from behind.
“I had to wait for Naomi to get ready, she takes a long time.” You say turning to look at Naomi.
“Don't try putting this on me, I didn’t take long, you were the one who couldn’t find their shoes.”
“Sounds about right.” Trinity says with a laugh. “Ash is looking for you. She’s been looking for you the whole time we’ve been here.”
“I forgot to text her I was getting here late.” You say as you pull your phone. “Yikes, I didn’t see her calls or messages. Whoops.”
“She’s with Sophia and Rose, I think they were grabbing drinks.” Trinity says and you nod.
“Alright, alright. Let’s get this started! Grab the person beside you and let’s dance!” The DJ shouts, as they put some upbeat music.
“Come on.” Trinity says pulling you by the arm and towards the dance floor. “You can look for Ash later.”
“My worst nightmare.” You groan as you’re pulled onto the dance floor. “I’d rather go get a drink.”
“Too late.” Trinity shouts as she starts dancing. “Come on Y/N, dance!”
"Isn't Ash your dancing partner?" You ask.
"Oh well, she's not here and you are, so for now dance with me."
You looked around and saw everyone dancing, you couldn’t just stand there like a statue. You took a deep breath and began to let go, the music filling your ears and you started to dance to the music.
“There we go!” Trinity shouts as she grabs your hands. “Ash is going to kill me for making you dance with me.”
“No she won’t.”
“Oh she most definitely will, she wants to talk to you.” Trinity shouts just enough for you to hear and you furrow your eyebrows.
“About?”
“She didn’t tell me but she said she wanted to talk to you. Seemed important if you ask me.”
“Huh.” You hummed.
“You two have been so weird. What secrets do you guys have hidden?” Trinity asks you which makes you laugh.
“There's no secrets.” You say confused.
Well it may have been a tiny lie. Well you kept a secret, not just from Trinity but also from Ashley, and well just about everyone.
After dancing with Trinity for a good amount of time, you stepped away and went to grab a drink. The lights were dimmed, just enough to know where you were walking.
Heading towards the bar, you bumped into teammates and friends, stopping and chatting before you finally got to the bar. Once at the bar you asked for a drink, non alcoholic, because you didn’t want to say or do anything you’d regret the following morning.
You grabbed your drink and stood in the back. Searching for Ashley.
As you took another sip from your drink you had finally spotted Ashley, who just so happened to look up. You smiled and waved at her, in the darkened room you could still see her beautiful eyes, she smiled at you and subtly waved at you.
“You know you can’t avoid her forever.” Naomi says, startling you.
“Oh my god, you scared me.” You say as you clutch your drink.
“You should tell her you know. You two have been best friends since like forever. Since before I met you, and I met you at college.” Naomi says. “You should tell her you l-.”
“Ah ah ah. I don’t know what you’re talking about. We’re best friends. We hang out together and we bake cookies sometimes. We watch movies and we cry together, well she cries to sad dog videos.” You say nonchalantly.
“Your eyes say something else.” Naomi says softly as she reaches for your hand.
“My eyes say I don’t want to be here.”
“If that’s what helps you get through the day.” Naomi says patting your back. "But if you were to ask me, I see something else."
You took another sip, thanking yourself as you chose correctly in asking for a non alcoholic drink. You looked around the room once again and saw Ashley from afar. But looked away as soon as she looked up.
Naomi caught a glimpse in Ashley’s eyes, her face. Naomi smiled as she looked at you.
“The eyes never lie.” Naomi whispers to you as she walks away.
Ashley looked at you the entire night. Wondering why you still hadn’t gone to talk to her.
“You told her right? That I wanted to talk to her.” Ashley asked Trinity.
“For the billionth time Ash, I did. I told her.” Trinity says. “Is it that important?”
“Not necessarily I suppose.” Ashley says with a sigh.
“You know what could help the whole you two avoiding each other for like a couple of weeks now?”
“What?”
“You maybe telling Y/N that you know.. you kind of, maybe, well.. that you l-.”
“Nope.” Ashley says cutting Trinity off before she could finish her sentence. “You give me terrible advice.”
“Says the one who can’t talk to her best friend because she’s too scared.” Trinity says.
“I’m not scared. I’m just waiting.”
“Waiting for what? A sign?”
“Maybe.”
“You got mad at her for taking her shirt off in front of you after you had flicked a ton of flour on her. Ash, babe. Best friends don’t get mad. Plus she’s done that plenty of times in front of you, in front of like everyone, like in the locker room when we all change. And for you to suddenly get mad.. Please, I’m not dumb.” Trinity says as she takes a sip of her drink. "Or blind. There's only one reason that could make it all make sense to me. And I'm sure I'm right."
"She's my best friend. If it's what I'm thinking you're thinking, you're completely wrong Trin."
"Friends to lovers, you gotta love that." Trinity says with a smirk. "On a serious note, who says she doesn't feel the same way."
"I say." Ashley says. "And I never said I feel that way."
"You kind of just gave it away. Also, I think you both feel it and know it deep down." Trinity whispers as she looks up and sees you talking to Naomi. “You both have that look, I just think neither of you realize it or maybe don’t want to see it. OR maybe you two are just clueless. You guys just need a little push.”
"I hate you." Ashley whispers.
"You gotta love me though, or else who would help sad little you." Trinity says patting the top of Ashley's head.
Later on in the night as you were sitting you felt arms wrap around you. You looked up and saw Ashley was the one hugging you.
“Hey.” You say as you hug Ashley back, grabbing her hands.
“Hey.” Ashley says with a smile.
“What’s up?”
"Nothing. Wanted to say hi." Ashley says as she lets go.
“Trinity said you wanted to talk?” You say.
“Oh yeah well I just wanted to ask you if you were coming but you’re here so my question has been answered.” Ashley says with a smile.
“Oh, well, do you want to go out and get some fresh air?” You ask and she nodded.
You grabbed your coat before walking out, knowing she’d get cold soon enough.
“What are they up to?” Sophia asks Trinity.
“I don’t even know anymore. They’re so not… themselves.” Kelley says as she grabs food off of Sophia’s plate.
"They do know we were right here, right?" Rose asks as she looked at the rest of the girls.
"I'm going to be honest, I highly doubt they even noticed us." Trinity says. "They seem to forget that there's other people around these days."
"What do you know?" Sophia asks Trinity, turning around to get a read on her face. "Oh you know something."
"I'm an observer yes, I'm also nosy. Unfortunately this time, I know nothing. Yet."
As you walked out, you both felt the cool breeze on your skin.
“I’m cold.” Ashley says immediately.
“I knew you’d say that, which is why I brought my coat.” You say as you help Ashley put on your coat.
“Thank you.” Ashley says with a smile, buttoning up the coat you had brought out for her.
“That’s what best friends are for.” You say with a smile. “Plus I know you always get cold.”
You both stayed silent, watching people walk by the street.
“So..” Ashley says filling in the silence.
“So?” You ask.
“The gala is great so far don’t you think?”
“Yeah, no it’s been great. I like seeing everyone I don’t usually get to see.” You say nodding.
There’s silence again.
You turned to look at Ashley, something in the look she had made, made you wonder so many things. Could it be? Were you just maybe imagining things?
Yeah. You had to be imagining things. Right? But maybe not? You couldn't prove it, but maybe, just maybe you were seeing just enough to know.
“I like your necklace it’s pretty.”
“Thank you, it was a gift.” Ashley says with a smile and you nod. “I’ve missed you. I know we see each other like a lot but I miss having my best friend around. So we can do things together.”
“Has Trinity not been of any help?” You ask.
“She’s a terrible baker.” Ashley says with a laugh, you laughed as well, knowing well that Trinity was in fact not a good baker.
“I’m sorry I’ve had to put you through such a difficult situation.” You say sarcastically. “You poor poor thing.”
“Shut up.” Ashley says with a laugh, as she lightly punched you. “But it’s been such a pain. I hope you don’t leave me for that long again.”
“I won’t I promise.”
“Good.”
You both smiled and stayed silent again.
The silence wasn't awkward, there was no tension. It felt nice, even though there was silence, you both felt at peace, felt comfortable.
Silence. But this time, this silence was beginning to feel different than before.
You were both realizing it. A different type of silence. A silence you both had never felt.
After a short while, standing in silence, you both walked back inside. But shortly after the Gala was over you had to talk to Naomi.
“Do you mind going with Trinity back to her apartment? Ash and I are going for a drive.” You whisper.
“Drive? Did you tell her that I said that the eyes never lie.” Naomi asks.
“No. We're just heading back to change real quick and then going on for a drive. We haven't seen each other in a while, you said it yourself. We're going to catch up." You say truthfully.
"Okay then. Don't be out too late though." Naomi says and you nod.
After the gala was over, you and Ashley went back to your apartment, changing into some comfier clothes, then heading back out.
"It's a beautiful night out." Ashley says as you drive.
"It always is." You say as you take a quick glance at Ashley who was looking out the window.
"So where are we going? We have lots of catching up to do." Ashley says turning back around.
“I say we go where we usually go. Deal?”
“Sounds great.”
"I do feel like this is going to be a long drive, should we maybe get coffee?"
"My weakness, yes please. There's a drive thru coffee shop a couple of blocks down, it's open 24/7."
"Well bless their souls for being open at midnight." You answer as you drive to the coffee shop.
Once you both had your coffee, you drove down to the closest but also furthest place from town, away from so many lights. To a beautiful scenic view.
You put your hand out, setting it on Ashley’s thigh.
“What?” Ashley asks as she takes a sip of her coffee.
“Hold my hand won’t you.”
“Why?”
“When did you start asking so many questions? You just take my hand. Just hold it you weirdo.” You say as you shake your hand.
Ashley held onto your hand, it felt like you were in high school again. Sneaking out to get snacks and going out for a drive.
The rest of the drive was left in a comfortable silence. Nothing out of the ordinary, just comfortable silence, and the sound of the wind coming through the windows.
You turned for another quick glance, but this time Ashley was looking at you as well. You smiled and looked back at the road.
"What?" Ashley asks as she started to giggle nervously.
"Nothing."
"You're being weird."
"I'm being weird? You're being weird." You say with a laugh.
At the next stop you turned and saw the light of the traffic light reflecting off of Ashley’s necklace.
“I like your necklace.”
“Well you gave it to me for my twenty second birthday.” Ashley says with a smile.
As you arrived, you took out the blanket out from the backseat.
“See I’m grateful you have a truck, but not those big ugly trucks. Just a cool, small truck.” Ashley says, you turn around and look confused.
“What?” You ask with a laugh. “It’s a Toyota Tacoma.”
“Yeah a nice truck.” Ashley says and you laugh.
You continue laughing as you open the back, placing the blanket, then go back to the backseat and grab some pillows.
“Come on.” You say as you extend your hand out to help her on.
Ashley grabbed onto your hand as she got on, coffee still in her hand. You both laid down, legs extended out as you both looked up.
“I love when we come out and stargaze.” Ashley whispers as she pulls on the second blanket. “It’s always so pretty.”
“To get out of all the noise in the city?” You ask.
“That and being able to just stare at the sky with you in silence. Because even when we’re hanging out and it’s silent it’s still so enjoyable.” Ashley says as she turns on her side to face you.
You sat up to take another sip of your coffee, no way you were sleeping anytime soon.
Ashley sat up as well, taking a sip from her coffee as well.
And although there was pure silence, somehow it was also loud.
Naomi’s words were stuck in the back of your mind the whole time, maybe that was what was loud.
“The eyes never lie.”
As you both sat up, Ashley looked down at her hands, she was fidgeting with her fingers. You knew that meant she was nervous.
“Hey, what’s going on? What’s making you so nervous?” You ask, but Ashley didn’t look up. “Ash? Look up. Look at me. What’s going on?”
You scooted closer to her as she looked up and your shoulders brushed against each other.
You grabbed her hand, while looking at her worryingly. Ash was never one to get nervous or anxious when you were around.
“The eyes never lie.”
Naomi’s words ringing in your mind. If there were a mute button on those words, you’d press it immediately.
“I-.” Ashley stopped herself from speaking, you furrowed your eyebrows. “I-.”
“Ash?”
For once Ashley couldn’t speak, couldn’t say what she wanted to say. She was starting to get irritated with herself.
You’re her best friend. Ashley thought. Why was it so hard to talk to you?
“Ash? Ash you’re kind of scaring me here.” You say, Ashley sighed as she placed her hand on your cheek.
That single touch, your heart felt like it was about to jump out.
Ashley was aware of what she had done but her mind, her heart was racing.
And in the silence, the look in each others eyes. You both could hear it, feel it.
While staring at one another, no one chose to speak.
Silence.
And in the silence, you knew. You both knew.
You cupped her face with your hands and then leaned in, connecting your lips with hers.
You both moved in synch, you couldn’t seem to pull away. Neither of you could pull away. As you both kissed in what seemed liked a long awaited kiss, the silence only made it so much clearer to you.
You were in love.
In love with your best friend.
Finally after pulling away, Ashley rested her forehead against yours, bumping her nose against yours, pecking your lips once again before actually pulling away.
Neither of you said a word, the silence seemed to say it all for you both. You grabbed her hand again and just closed your eyes for a few seconds.
The kiss wasn’t awkward, the silence was comfortable.
Ashley rested her head on your shoulder as you both looked at the view in front of you.
“I like you.” Ashley whispers.
“I like you too. If me reciprocating wasn’t clear.” You say softly making Ashley giggle.
You weren’t just going to admit you loved her, not like this. And although you definitely knew, you weren’t going to say those three words just yet.
Ashley smiled as she grabbed your hand, lifting it up and kissing the top of your hand.
Ashley felt her heart pound, but also feeling how at ease she felt with you. Holding your hand this time was not the same as before, this time she knew you had felt the same way.
The drive back was peaceful, comfortable. Still, neither of you had said another word but there seemed to be no awkwardness or tension.
It just felt right.
"I'm going to take you out tomorrow. A real date." You say right before you both went to your separate bedrooms.
"Let's see if you remember that tomorrow morning."
"I'll remember don't you worry."
As you both laid in your separate beds, the bedrooms across each other, you were both staring at the ceiling.
Ashley silently cheered as she kicked her feet against the mattress. She covered her face with a pillow, although no one could see her she hid as if someone could. Her smile never fading away.
You were smiling at the ceiling, hoping and wondering if Ashley was maybe just as giddy as you were. You pulled your blanket over your face, smiling as wide as you possibly could.
The two of you seemed to not get enough sleep. Replaying the entire night over and over in your heads. Or it was possibly the coffee you both had. Definitely the first thing though.
The following morning you got up bright and early to try and make breakfast, but seeing as you weren’t home for a while. There were barely any groceries, mostly just bread, so toast it was.
"Something smells burnt." Ashley says groggily as she lifted her head up from the table.
Burnt toast.
"I have a broken toaster, you can't blame me." You say turning around. It was a lie, well half lie. It was a broken toaster, but you had forgotten you had put toast. Too distracted by looking at her.
Messy hair and a smile on her face as she stretched.
"I like your shirt."
"Thanks it's comfy. Oh and yours." Ashley smiled as she spun around.
"My clothes do look good on you. Good sleep?"
"The best, oh and I'm keeping this shirt." Ashley says as she walks over to you. "Burnt toast on a Sunday type of day I suppose."
"It's my specialty." You say with a smile, Ashley stepped to the side and jumped on the counter. "I'll make a good breakfast with what I can find, and not burnt."
Ashley smiled as she swung her legs.
"Y/N?"
"Yeah?"
"Why do you have a target picture frame of a family stock photo on your coffee table."
"I haven't gotten to it yet okay? I can't find a worthy picture of going in the picture frame. It has to be nice, pretty, and something I love."
"So a family stock photo is better than an empty picture frame?" Ashley asks.
"Umm, yes."
"You're so weird."
"Well you kissed this weirdo last night." You say turning around to face her.
"Touché."
Although technically you two weren’t official yet, it felt like you two had been together for years now. I guess that's the advantage of being best friends for many years now.
You walked over to Ashley, a smile on both her face and yours. You stood in front of her, in between her legs, big smile on your face.
“I like you.” You say as you leaned in.
“I like you.”
“But we established that already didn't we." You say with a smile, Ashley simply nodded. "Date. Tonight."
"You remembered." Ashley says sounding surprised.
"Hey I keep my word, so tonight. Date?"
"Date."
"Great." You say then lean in to give her a small kiss.
You didn't know if it would get better than this, but if it did, then maybe you would understand everything everyone always said about being in love.
- - - -
Three months. Three months of being officially together, and you had to say they were by far the best three months of your life.
You asked Ashley to be your girlfriend on your third date, it was an unforgettable night.
Today though, today you were out with friends, and with your girlfriend beside you.
"You're so pretty." Ashley whispers as you walked behind the rest of the girls.
"You're beautiful."
Forgetting you were with other people, you stopped on the sidewalk to kiss her.
"We're going to leave you both here, with no ride home." Trinity shouts.
"Come on before they actually leave us." Ashley says pulling away.
"One more." You say with a smile, pulling her back into you and kissing her again.
"Y/N."
"I had to get one more." You say with a grin.
You walked hand in hand, swinging your hands as if you two were in your own little world. In your minds, you obviously were.
Today had made up from the fight you guys had the week before about some absurd miscommunication mishap. Well it wasn't absurd, you thought it was, which is probably why you had gotten into a fight, but you stayed up all night talking and trying to get Ashley to stop being mad at you.
So here you were, going shopping with her and the girls, and that meant buying her a few things. But buying her things isn't what Ashley wanted, she just wanted to spend time with you and your group of friends.
After a long shopping spree, you returned to your apartment. Which was becoming yours and Ashley's apartment, having more and more of her stuff magically appear. But you were loving it.
You loved her, but you weren't telling her yet, not yet. Because as much as it did, you knew those three words are so powerful and mean a lot.
As you got home the first thing you both had gone to do was lay on the bed, and as you both did, you both looked up at the ceiling, music in the background.
Ashley turned to look at you, a smile on her face as she saw you had closed your eyes.
She was going to say it, say those three words. Tell you that she has loved you all this time but didn't want to rush it, she was about to tell you that when she sees you all she feels is warmth and love.
But she held back, wondering if it was too early to say it.
But how could it be early when you both had loved each other for longer than you had initially thought.
Nevertheless you both didn't say it that night.
- - - -
Six months now, six beautiful months. It seemed like the more time passed by, the happier you got, you never thought this much happiness was real. You thought it was all fairytale talk, but it wasn't.
Ashley opened her eyes in the middle of the night, the thoughts in her head couldn't let her sleep. You were also awake, the thoughts in your head also couldn't let you sleep.
The both of you looked up at ceiling, not a single word was said as you held hands.
A few minutes later you both turned on your side, you both looked at each other, the look on Ashley's face was strange, different. You smiled softly at her as she still looked at you differently, you couldn't figure out the look on her face, but it didn't matter you still leaned into her touch.
"You're my best friend." Ashley whispers as she caresses your cheek. Leaning in to rest her forehead against yours. Her whole body seemed to relax in that moment.
It seemed like everything changed, and it definitely did.
You knew it then and there, her words, the strange look on her face, it all made sense.
You knew what it was.
You didn't say anything, you just embraced it all, the warmth, the pure bliss.
She was in love and so were you.
But neither of you had to say it, you both knew it right there. The moment she said it, she knew by your body language.
You both knew.
The silence filled the room again, but it was once again, a comfortable silence.
- - - -
One year. One year with Ashley and it was still as beautiful and magical as it was in the beginning.
So there you were, standing in the kitchen making breakfast for Ashley. You made pancakes with blueberries, trying your best to not burn anything this time.
As you finished plating the food, you felt arms wrap around you. You turned your head and kissed Ashley on the cheek.
"Good morning."
"Good morning, how long have you been up?" Ashley asks as she kisses your back.
"An hour at most." You answer as you flip the pancake.
"How are you not tired? We had training yesterday. And it was brutal."
"Oh I'm definitely feeling it, but nothing can stop me from making you breakfast." You say as you grab the plates and take them to the table.
"You could always sleep in with me."
"If I were to do that we'd be in bed until the afternoon because you never want to get out of bed." You say with a look.
"You’re acting as if you would actually get out of bed. You’re a liar. You know damn well you wouldn’t want to get out of bed either.”
“Okay true but my point still stands.” You say which resulted in Ashley making a weird face.
“No it really doesn’t.” Ashley says shaking her head. "Like at all."
You looked at Ashley, her smile could light up the whole city, you were sure of it.
The moment that went through your head you thought that was so corny, and mentally asked yourself, how did you get to this point?
So far everyone was right, love does make people crazy and apparently corny.
"Something smells burnt." Ashley says making your eyes widen.
"Crap. My toast."
"Oh the irony, burnt toast on a Sunday again."
“Well at least your pancakes are intact, my toast on the other hand, are definitely not intact. The price I pay for admiring you.”
“So it’s my fault?”
“Yes. You’re too distracting.”
“Was it my fault last week when you burnt your pasta? Because I can assure you I wasn’t home when that took place.”
“I was thinking of you.”
“You’re unbelievable.” Ashley says with a chuckle, slightly shoving you.
“You know, Trin says you keep a picture of me in your locker.”
“How can I not? I have one of you in my locker, in my car, in my wallet. The list goes on.”
“Ashley Sanchez is down bad everyone.” You say as you sit beside her. “And down bad for me.”
“You’re so right. I’m not even going to deny it.” Ashley says making you laugh. “But so are you, for me obviously.”
“I’d be crazy not to be.”
“You’re my person. I hope you know that.” Ashley says as she reaches for your hand. “And you always will be.”
“I feel the same way about you.”
Ashley smiled as she looked at you, her eyes shined in a way it had never shined before, eyes so bright and filled with love, admiration, everything.
Your heart was beating faster than normal, your eyes shined bright, you were sure your eyes were in the shape of hearts. How could someone be so beautiful, wonderful, kind, and just so utterly perfect. That someone was your girlfriend.
Even now you still couldn’t believe it.
After finishing breakfast, you both cleaned the apartment, and once that was finished you headed outside.
The entire front yard was covered in snow, the small attempted snowman was beside the door, rocks as the eyes and a piece of raw penne pasta as the nose. Ashley’s signature, as she couldn’t find a carrot in the fridge.
“I can’t believe it’s still snowing.” Ashley says as she looks up, eyes closed and tongue out as she tried to catch snowflakes.
“I can’t believe we train in this weather.” You say as you grab the snow shovel that was leaned against your car.
“Are you really going to shovel the snow right now? Come and make some snow angels with me.”
“If you want us to be stuck here tomorrow, sure.”
“It’s pre season training babe. Come, here I’ll even put some music on, I brought the speaker out. What do you want to listen to?”
“Anything you want.” You say as you shovel some of the snow while Ashley decided on a song.
“Great, Taylor Swift it is.” Ashley says as she presses play. “Now come, we don’t have to go in for training tomorrow.”
You looked up and saw Ashley dancing in the snow, you dropped the snow shovel and ran towards her. You lifted her up and spun her around.
The song playing didn’t register in your mind, so enchanted, so amazed, so mesmerized, and just so focused on what was currently happening.
All you heard was four words from the song.
You are in love
It was as if it was telling you, confirming it to you. What you were feeling was true and real. Then two more words confirmed it all.
True Love.
Ashley laughed as you spun her around, her hands in the air, you spun her around for a few more seconds before stopping.
You smiled, Ashley was still laughing at your antics of spinning her around.
Right then and there, you truly understood, you understood why people said falling in love was so magical, unique, so beautiful. You understood why people lost their minds.
Being in love was the best thing that could ever happen to someone.
Without even registering it, you said the three words you never thought you’d ever tell anyone. But you did.
“I love you.”
You understood why people fight for the person they love.
Because when you are in love, sometimes love can make you crazy. But in a good way.
You helped Ashley back on the ground, her hands went up to cup your face, a big smile as she read your face.
“I love you.”
You smiled as you wrapped your arms around her waist, pulling her in for a kiss. Ashley laughed as she pulled away, her eyes were watery as she looked at you like you hung the stars just for her. She loves you.
“I’ve wanted to tell you for so long, deep in my heart I just always knew I loved you.”
“That makes two of us.” Ashley says as she booped your nose. “I love you. I truly do love you.”
The fears of loving someone were no longer around.
Because you knew, you knew that you are in love.
“I love you."
The song continued playing and replaying over and over. Probably because Ashley didn't know she accidentally pressed the 'replay one song' option. But maybe it was a good idea, because it became your song.
And inside your shared apartment, one day in the next three years, the target picture frame of a family stock photo on the coffee table would be replaced by a picture of you both on your wedding day, for every guest in your home to see. Someone you love was placed in the picture frame, you just had to wait, and it was worth the wait. You always wanted a worthy picture to be placed, a picture of something you loved, in this case it was someone you love.
Your wife.
That is life now. And you were happy it was the way it turned out to be, because it's beautiful and wonderful, magical. You knew what it was from the beginning, and you know now what you feel.
You are in love. True love.

After seeing the fun fact about Becoming Potatoes, I now wonder how far back does the process of one event is from conceptualizing it to fully releasing it. Is it months? Years? I know development and planning can be long but how far back are things planned for Proseka's events in spesifics.
i have an extra fun fact about that song that i don't think i've mentioned before: it's the only song to never have a teaser before it's released in-game, probably because there was no point in it since the vocaloid version had been released months prior. annoyingly, neru never did a corocoro producer interview, so it's basically impossible for us to know what exactly went down in the development of that song.
here's some stuff i can tell you about event planning and such (most is song related lol bc there's far less interviews with the writers):
in an old Q&A around the 1st anniversary, the writers said it takes around 6-12 months to complete an event after conception
in the same question, they said they immediately have to prepare a summary after commissioning so they can pass it on, suggesting the commissioning stage comes first
i know i usually don't mention leaks but these aren't leaks anymore. back in early 2023 around the time of Little Bravers, the song titles and producers for commissions up until Samsa leaked. The producers for Hug and Regulus also leaked 1-2 months in advance. p sure there used to be a staff leaker LOL but at least they confirmed the comms are finished a fair amount in advance
for early events though, some accounts make it sound like vocaPs were being commissioned like years in advance. PinocchioP, Oster Project, NayutalieN did not receive a story summary.
NayutalieN also said that he was contacted very early on in development, only being shown character designs for MMJ. He literally says that "nothing had been decided and he was fed more details as they were finalised". and later in his interview mentions that the "omoi no kakera" lyric was not an intentional reference [to what is known as wish pieces on EN], since those didn't even exist yet.
Syudou says that Jackpot Sad Girl was made in 2020, not very long before the launch of the game, so there's a little less time there.
Surii said he was commissioned ~6 months before launch, so around a year before Pale Color ran. It's also worth noting that he was given story details at this point in time, meaning Pino/Oster/NayutalieN were commissioned before this point.
The designs were completed in early 2019 according to CGWorld's prsk feature, so we can assume that the vocaPs who weren't given story details were commissioned around this time
The story has a planned ending and has had this since early development. The overall story has always been decided but only as an outline, more specific details and the actual events are written as the game goes one.
However certain details, such as Mafuyu running away, were planned in advance.
Apparently it takes about a week to get to the final draft of an event story, after going through checks with other staff and re-drafting (same source as the "specific details" link)
Additionally: card art. According to that 1st anniversary q&a i mentioned earlier, the art team takes two months or more per card. might be longer now because of the higher art quality. The art team sometimes bases set themes off the commission (such as Hitsuji ga Ippiki & kiuan set), or off the event story, which again gives us an indicator of how far in advance this stuff is finished.

It’s Fantastic
Most of the team is hanging out in the common room, everyone doing their own thing. The silence of the room is interrupted when you look up from your phone, calling everyone’s attention.
“Hey guys? Do we have any plans tomorrow night?”
The question is clearly directed towards one of the older players, as you and the younger players have made it clear that you would not be memorizing schedules.
Alex scrolls through something in her phone for a few seconds before looking up and responding.
“Practice until 6, dinner at 7. After that, we have the rest of the night off. Why?”
“That’s literally perfect! There’s a movie theater not too far from here, can we please, please, please all go see the new Barbie movie?!?” you’re not ashamed to admit that you may be begging slightly.
The others chuckle at your enthusiasm, but all exchange glances. There really wasn’t a good reason that they couldn’t see the move. And judging by the looks on everyone’s face, you weren’t the only one who wanted to go see it.
“Tell you what, Y/N,” Pinoe levels you with a look, “if you can convince Vlatko to let us all go, we’re in.”
“Easy,” you say with full (false) confidence. “He can’t say no to me. Plus, I already rented out a theater.”
—-
It turns out, Vlatko has no problem saying no to you. But, again, you’re not above begging. You beg and plead, until he finally gives in. Honestly, it’s probably so he doesn’t have to listen to you anymore.
Your team was in, Coach had approved it, now you just needed to make it exciting.
—-
“It’s Lucy and Kiera, and Georgia and Le-“ you sing, skipping into the England common room. “Hmmm, I guess that song doesn’t really work anymore. And I didn’t even get to the bridge about Beth and Vivi.”
The England team is somewhat startled by the American who came singing an obnoxious theme song. You had made the song up almost four years ago, after you had signed for Arsenal. At freshly 14, in a new country and away from your family, some of the Arsenal girls had taken you in.
When they realized that going to camp meant leaving you behind, Leah worked some magic and managed to sort it out so that you could go and practice with the team. You clicked with the team instantly, becoming the annoying little sister that they couldn’t help but love.
“Anyway, mates,” you start. Leaning over to Georgia, you whisper to ask, “did I use that right?”
At her nod, you continue, “as I was saying, anyway, mates, I’ve come to extend an invitation for a once in a lifetime opportunity. It’s been called bigger than the World Cup. Who wants to go see the Barbie movie tomorrow night?”
You’re bouncing on your feet slightly as you speak, clearly excited.
Lucy lets out a small chuckle, “good luck convincing Sarina to let us skip recovery to watch a movie.”
You squint slightly at Lucy, somewhat questioning, “you seem to forget who convinced Sarina to let us have a Colin cake for dinner more than once. It’s on.”
“Meet in the US lobby at 7:45, and don’t forget to wear pink,” you shout over your shoulder as you rush out the door.
—-
Sarina agreed with very little convincing. You assured her that all of the girls were okay with starting recovery earlier so that they could go to the movie, and she couldn’t deny that team bonding is always a good idea.
She only had one stipulation, which you easily agreed to. After helping her pick out the appropriate pink outfit for her to wear the next night, you move on to your next project.
—-
You knock cheerily on the door a few times before swinging it open. Your face lights up as you see the two people you were looking for, and you rush towards them.
Rue and Katie pulled you in, hugging you tight. You hadn’t seen them in a long time, and you had missed the women who had watched out for you for so many years. Rue pressed kisses all over your face as Katie ruffled your hair. You pull away from them, giggling.
“Guys, I love you and I missed you like crazy, but that’s not why I’m here,” now, you turn to address the majority of the Ireland team that’s in the room. “I’m here to invite you all to come to a very exclusive cinema screening tomorrow evening. Meet at 7:45 in the US lobby and wear something pink. Don’t be late!”
You shout a quick bye to the two women before leaving the room, now onto your hopefully last task.
—-
“Oh, Sammy,” you say happily, trotting into the room where you found most of the Australian team.
You knew Sam from playing against her in London, but you had become even closer when she started dating Kristie. If she could be your possible future sister-in-law who’s not actually related to you in any way, you had to be best friends. If you asked Sam, though, she may say that she mainly tolerates you.
“Hi Ali, hi Sammy, hi rest of the team,” you rush out, “tomorrow night, 7:45, US lobby, wear pink, please come.”
You nod once, turning and waking out the door. The team sits in confusion for a second, scanning the others’ faces to see if anyone knows what you said.
—-
When dinner started at 7, you ate about two bites before trying to get out of your chair and clear your plate. You get about a dozen glares and a hand catches your wrist before you leave the table.
“I’m full, promise, I just gotta go. It’s almost time,” you protest.
The glares don’t lessen, though, so you slump back in your seat. You pout as you push the food around your plate, the others trying not to laugh as you through what is basically a temper tantrum.
“Y/N.”
Your full first name gets you looking sheepishly up at Alex.
“You don’t have to finish your whole dinner, but you do need to finish your vegetables. Then you can go get ready.”
You still squirm slightly, too excited to sit completely still. But you don’t make any move to bring your fork up to your mouth.
“You know,” Kelley starts in a way that makes it clear that you don’t actually know, “I bet Pressy and Tobs would love a call to hear about how the ‘golden child’ isn’t listening. I don’t think they’ll be asleep yet, how about we give them a call now?”
You stay silent, finally managing to still your body.
“It’s funny, I bet Tobin still has all the numbers of the Arsenal players. And I would also bet that she would not hesitate to call them and tell them the plans are off because someone couldn’t behave.”
She pulls her phone out, then hesitates, “that takes care of England and Ireland, but I’m not sure about Australia. I could have Kristie call Sam, or I could have Chris call Ali. Y/N, do you have any preference?” Kelley fixes you with a look.
Finally, you break, showing a bite of your dinner in your mouth. After chewing and swallowing, you look up.
“I’m sorry, please don’t cancel. I wasn’t trying to be bad, I’m just excited.”
The rest of dinner passes quickly, and soon it’s 7:30. You’re basically vibrating in the lobby, waiting for everyone to arrive. Soon enough, everyone’s arrived and the lobby is a sea of hot pink. With a giant smile on your face, you start leading everyone out of the hotel and over a couple of blocks to the movie theater.
“Was this planned?” Sam leans over to ask Kristie, “how did she have that outfit?”
You were wearing a fully pink outfit that would have made Barbie herself jealous. Meanwhile, the England girls were doling out their pink warm up gear after you insisted that you wouldn’t let anyone not wearing pink into the movie.
Kristie laughs, “no, that’s just how she dresses. Pink nails, pink dresses, sparkles, the whole deal. It’s easier not to question it.”
You were at the front of the group, talking to players you used to play with, players you currently play with, players you could only dream of playing with. There weren’t different countries, there weren’t rivals, there weren’t competitors. There were simply people following a girl dressed in far too much pink.

Untold Weight - Pinocchio x f!Reader
After the events that happened at Arche Abbey, Pinocchio is left to think about all that has happened. The thoughts that run around in his head are not very pleasant.
Set after the Rise of P ending
- warnings: sad pino at the beginning
- word count: 1.6k
AU where Antonia lives
It’s been a few days since Pinocchio returned from the Isle of Alchemists with Sophia, and ever since, unease seemed to settle over him like a shadow. He’d shared everything with you—every trial he faced, from his battles against countless enemies to his fight with Laxasia, and even his confrontation with Simon. His silver hair, gleaming softly in the moonlight, a sort of proof of setting Sophia free and her being with him until the very end. She was happy now, radiantly so, and yet…something lingered.
He told you about Geppetto. About the Nameless Puppet. About Carlo. About his own heart.
When he returned, it was you he sought out first.
He found you in the library of Hotel Krat. There were no words, only action. He wrapped you in an embrace so tight, so full of sorrow, it felt like he was holding onto you for dear life, afraid you might slip through his fingers just like his maker.
He didn’t know what to think. His father—his creator, the man he had idolized and obeyed without question, had spoken such hateful words. Yet, he had shed tears for him.
Tears for a monster of a man.
And still, those final words haunted him.
"I’m sorry, son."
They echoed in his mind, turning over and over like the mechanisms in his chest. The more he thought about them, the more he believed they weren’t meant for him at all, but for Carlo.
Everyone at the hotel noticed the shift in him. Some more than others. It was Antonia who noticed first.
She called for him one day. Life at the hotel had started to mend—rooms restored, halls repaired, the echoes of despair replaced by the tentative whispers of hope.
He sat on a stool by the piano in the library, his elbows resting on his knees, his silver hair falling like a curtain to hide his face. Across from him, Antonia sat in her wheelchair, her gaze warm with quiet understanding.
He told her everything.
Antonia, who had loved Geppetto and Carlo so dearly, found her heart twisting in ways she hadn’t expected. She had never imagined this of Geppetto, the man she once held in such high esteem. Carlo was gone, but her love for the boy remained steadfast. Yet, in the time she had come to know Pinocchio, her affection for him had grown just as strong. In many ways, she saw him as a son.
But there was another weight Pinocchio carried, one he couldn’t voice so easily.
He worried about what you might think of him now.
His father’s words had cut deep, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t silence them. He was just a puppet. Nothing more.
But oh, if only he could see himself through your eyes.
Antonia saw it too.
“Oh, dear child. That girl holds you so very dear—more than you probably know. Don’t think I didn’t notice how she looks at you, from the very first day you arrived here. I may have been ill, but I wasn’t blind,” she said with a soft chuckle. “Talk to her and see for yourself. She has a pure heart, and she loves you truly. She would never discard you, just because you’re not made of flesh and blood.”
Her words stayed with him, echoing in his mind, until finally, he found the courage to come to your door.
You had been worried sick. For days, he had barely spoken to anyone, least of all you.
When you opened the door, his gaze remained fixed on the floor, unable to meet yours. You could see the weight he carried, feel it in the air between you. You knew what had happened—everyone did. You couldn’t claim to understand his pain. You didn’t, and you never would.
But you had resolved to be there for him, through it all.
He stood before you in his simple white shirt and dark pants, a picture of vulnerability. You stepped closer, your hands reaching up to cradle his freckled cheeks, gently lifting his face so you could meet his eyes.
His eyes shimmered—not with the polished quality of their craftsmanship, but with unshed tears.
“Pino, sweetheart, what’s wrong?”
It was a silly question. You knew what was wrong.
He said nothing, only wrapped his arms around you. Carefully, always carefully with his Legion arm. He buried his face in your shoulder, silent tears soaking into your shirt.
Your heart ached. You held him close, your fingers threading through his silver hair, offering comfort in the only way you could. For a while, the room was quiet, save for the soft ticking of his mechanisms and the steady beat of his heart. Then, finally, you spoke.
“You are enough.”
He froze. For a moment, even his gears seemed to halt. Slowly, he pulled back, his face a mix of surprise and something else—something raw.
“…What?”
“You are enough, Pinocchio.”
And just like that, he broke.
He kissed you with an intensity that stole the air from your lungs, his lips pressing against yours with a fervor that felt like a plea and a promise all at once. His hands moved with a careful kind of desperation—one resting on your back, pulling you closer, as if he could fuse you together and never let go. The other found its way into your hair, his fingers threading through the strands as though seeking solace in their softness.
It was not a kiss of hesitation or doubt—it was everything he couldn’t put into words. His fears, his sorrows, his love for you—all of it poured out in a torrent, raw and unrestrained.
For a moment, you were stunned, caught off guard by the sheer weight of his emotion. But then, like the tide rushing to meet the shore, you responded without hesitation.
Your hands found their place, one on his cheek and the other curling around his neck, pulling him even closer. The heat of the moment wrapped around you both like a cocoon, shielding you from the outside world. You kissed him back with everything you had, pouring every ounce of love, every whispered promise, and every silent vow into the connection between you.
His lips moved against yours with a mix of urgency and tenderness, as though trying to memorize every detail of this moment. He tilted his head slightly, deepening the kiss, and you felt a soft, shaky sigh escape him. The hand in your hair tightened just a fraction, his thumb brushing against your temple in a touch so reverent it made your heart ache.
Your senses were overwhelmed by him—the faint metallic tang of his scent, the warmth of his touch, the rhythmic ticking of his mechanisms mingling with the steady beat of his heart. It was a symphony of contrasts, both human and mechanic, and it was him.
When you finally broke apart, it wasn’t from a lack of desire but the need for air. His forehead pressed against yours, his silver hair falling between you like a shimmering curtain. His breaths came in soft, uneven gasps, mingling with yours in the quiet space between you.
For a moment, neither of you spoke. You simply looked at each other, his glossy eyes searching yours as if trying to confirm that this was real, that you were here, and that you loved him as fiercely as he loved you.
And you did.
Without a word, your thumb brushed against his freckled cheek, a silent reassurance that you weren’t going anywhere. His lips quirked into the faintest of smiles, and in that instant, you knew. No matter the hardships you faced, no matter the doubts that plagued him, you would face them by his side.
---
An hour later, you lay together on your bed. Pinocchio rested his head on your chest, his arms wrapped securely around your torso. The steady rhythm of your heartbeat was his anchor, grounding him in a world that often felt too overwhelming.
Your fingers played idly with strands of his silver hair, curling them around your fingertips as you stared at the ceiling.
For Pinocchio, this moment felt like heaven.
The thought came to him suddenly, yet it rooted itself deeply.
He thought of Julian, the gentleman who had entrusted him with his wife’s most cherished possession. Their wedding ring. His owrds rang in his head.
"Please remember the love Melody and I shared. Who knows? Maybe you'll find true love one day, too."
He thought of Polendina and the love he so clearly felt for Antonia—a love so pure and steadfast it seemed to transcend everything.
And then, he thought of you.
He adored you. Completely and utterly.
“I want to marry you,” he said, breaking the silence.
Your fingers stilled. Your heart skipped a beat, and he felt it beneath his ear.
“I…what?”
“I want you to be my wife,” he said, his voice soft but steady.
You blinked, unsure if you’d heard him correctly.
Now he lifted his head, propping himself up on his arms. His silver hair framed his face, strands brushing your cheeks like a veil between you and the rest of the world. Your face burned crimson, and he chuckled softly, a flicker of mischief breaking through his seriousness.
“You’re not…proposing to me right now, are you?”
He faltered, guilt flashing across his face as he began to sit up. But before he could pull away, you grabbed his face, pressing a kiss to his freckled forehead and tucking a few silver strands behind his ear.
“I’m not complaining,” you said with a soft smile. “And I want you to be my husband as well”
For a moment, he looked as though he might short circuit entirely.
Little did you know, the residents of Hotel Krat had already begun planning your wedding long before either of you realized you wanted one.
Heyy so school started and I'm not okay with that
Anyways I finished ng+ and immediately started ng+2 and my brain slapped me with this idea
I put my whole nervous system and brain power into that kissing scene I hope it's alright-

What makes me a human?
Lie's of P oneshot/ Pinocchio x fem!Reader
A/n: Hi! I'm back with another story of Pinocchio. If you have some ideas please send in a request. I hope everyone is gonna like this one too 💕
Note: some deep talk, fluff with some spice ♥️🔥
Reader: Are you alright?
Pino: after a moment of silence, he answers you Of course Dear, why do you ask me such a question?
He pulled you onto his lap, placing your back down on the bed. Pino's free hand was slowly travelling down your body once more.
Reader: You seemed like your mind was in a different place.
Pino: he chuckled quietly Sometimes, I wish I could stay in the places that I know I'm wanted. The places that make me happy, like here with you...
His free hand eventually reaches what it was searching for.
Reader: Do you know what makes a person human?
Pino: he shakes his head No, what makes a person human?
He asked you curiously, wanting to know the answer. His free hand started to move once more.
Reader: Well I don't know actually. I've been a human since I was born but I don't know what makes a person human.
Pino: I wish I knew! It is something I have been longing to be ever since the moment I knew I was not human. To feel what true human affection feels like, to know what it feels like to be truly loved.
Pino continued to explore your body, his free hand moving all around you.
Reader: I can only tell you what makes a person human physically but I can't tell you what makes a person human in mentality.
Pino: his voice is filled with pure wonder and curiosity Please... Could you tell me what makes a person physically human? I am curious to know.
He continues to explore your body, his mouth finding your neck once more as the hand on your waist finds it's way to your legs.
Reader: You can feel it while you explore my body with your hands. Every part of me is used for something. But I think you're going to love this one.
You said gently grabbing his head and putting his ears where he can hear your heartbeat.
Pino: he looked up at you in wonder as you put his ear just beside your chest.
He listened to your heartbeat. He listened. He could hear the heartbeat of a human, the heartbeat of a girl he felt so strongly for. Pino didn't move.
You could feel his breathing quicken, as the hand on your waist squeezed you tightly, the hand on your legs started to go higher and higher.
Reader: It was the first thing I ever heard. My mother's heartbeat. What do you think? It's magical isn't it?
Pino: he smiled at you, still listening to your heartbeat intently. His eyes were glowing, it was obvious he felt a deep connection to you.
He kissed you, still listening, still feeling. He squeezed you tighter, letting you know he wasn't planning on moving any time soon.
Reader: Do you have a heart? I really wanna hear it.
Pino: Of course I have a heart you silly.
He chuckled, then lifted you up so that you were sat on top of him. His body pressed against yours, once again he was listening to your heartbeat, holding you close.
After a few moments, you could hear it. Pino's heart, beating rapidly. Beating for you.
Pino: his voice was quiet Can... Can I ask you something...?
Reader: Anything
Pino: he looked up at you, his eyes were filled with curiosity and happiness Is there a way for me to... Become human...?
A silly question sure, but he meant every word. Pino wanted to feel human. But most of all, he wanted to be with the person he loved most in the world... You.
Reader: I'm sure there is a way to become human physically but mentally you are already a human to me. You are special my love so do not forget that.
Pino: he chuckled You think I am special?
He pressed the tip of his nose against yours, looking you in the eyes as he smirked.
Pino: I have just one question though... Do you truly love me...?
Reader: I love you more than you know. I love you deeper than the ocean can go. I love you for who you were who you are and who you become my Dear.
Pino's cheeks coloured a soft pink. His breath quickened once more.
Pino: he leaned his forehead closer to Yours Are... You going to be with me?
He couldn't ask for more, the possibility of hearing the person you love the most saying "yes" to your question was one of the few things that made him feel human.
Reader: Yes
Pino: a warm smile spread across his face Then please, never leave me.
He embraced you tightly, pulling you even closer to his body. His head rested at your neck, listening to your heartbeat once more.
Pino: he whispered once more I love you~
Reader: I love you too
Pino: his body tightened, not wanting to let go of you in the slightest Can we stay in this moment for just a bit longer?
That last question was not a question, it was a request. Pino wanted to spend all of his time locked in your arms.
Reader: Of course my little baby

It was another dark and spooky night about a year after the barrier was dropped, and four teenagers were heading home after a Halloween party in the village of Sleepy Hollow.
These teenagers were recent Auradon Prep graduate and fifteen year old pirate captain: Hannah Hook. Captain of the Stormbringer and the youngest child of Captain Hook.
Tulip Lampwick Rossi, a pretty and fashionable native girl from Neverland with beautiful red hair.
Princess Eleanor Blue Fairy of Llyr, with her stunning blonde hair and shimmering wings.
And last but not least, Pino ‘Pin’ Liddell with his black hair and thick, nerdy glasses.
"So.." Tulip said, awkwardly trying to make conversation. With Hannah in particular.
“So?” Hannah hummed, candy bar in her mouth as she tried to readjust her sailor costume. That Tulip's father, Lampwick, had suggested for the party when he found out the brunette had been planning to go to the costume party without one.
"Those stories at the party sure were something huh?"
Pin, the traitor, snorted, even though he and her were still wearing their matching donkey-corn sorcerer and princess costumes. Shooting her an innocent smile when she glared at him.
Hannah, on the other hand, just seemed confused. “Which one? The story about the witch eating children? Don't worry: those old bags are pretty frail unless you're a toddler.”
Eleanor, personally offended, stated “Hey! My grandmother on my mother's side was a witch and she was not old and frail!"
“So? If she didn't eat children, I wouldn't be talking about her.” Hannah rolled her eyes. “I was talking about the isle witches.”
“Wait, there are actually children eating witches on the isle—” Pin yelped, startled.
The donkey-corn princess rolled her eyes “Besides I was talking about the headless horseman"
“Oh yeah, that was creepy.” Eleanor, in her witch costume, agreed.
“Yeah but it was a load of bull.” Hannah assured them. “He was supposedly on the isle, but very few people ever saw him. My brother said he did but he likes makin’ things up.”
“Well, I think your brother is telling the truth for once!” Tulip said out loud.
“It's very possible he only comes out once a year, just like the song said.” Eleanor added.
“I'm sorry, but are we really gonna ignore what Hannah said about witches to talk about some bogus urban legend?” Pin demanded.
“And besides, what are the odds of me being wrong about both Santa Claus and the Headless Horseman being real?” The pirate in question asked, trying to soothe the other girls’ nerves.
"Well, whatever. Let's go find where we parked Parsnip and head home!” Tulip said quickly .
Hannah hummed. “Who's riding her home?”
“Nose goes!” Pin declared, quickly putting his finger on his nose before the others could even blink.
“Ok?” Eleanor asked, confused. “What does that mean?”
“It's a game. If you want to do something or don't want to do something, you yell ‘nose goes’ and put your finger on your nose before anyone else. Usually the last one loses if it's something you don't want to do.” Hannah explained, exasperated.
Clearly she was the one Pin had learned the game from.
“Oh ok.” Eleanor replied. Just then Tulip heard a strange laugh in the distance. “Did you hear that?!!” “Yeah it sounds like a man’s laughter!” Eleanor added, completely creeped out.
Pin gulped. Clearly having indeed heard it. Hannah, on the other hand…
“What are you guys talking about? I don't hear anything?” “How could you—? Nevermind. Let’s just head to the Bridge..” Tulip whispered, completely terrified.
The brunette shrugged. “If you say so… where is the bridge?”
“I DON’T KNOW ! I Forgot!” Tulip wailed.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T REMEMBER?!” Pin yelled, startled.
“It’s ok. I do. Follow me,” Eleanor said with a brave expression.
So they did.
Hannah downing candy after candy as they did so with one hand and keeping her other hand on her prized sword ‘the nut slicer’ as they did. The sound of the laughter kept getting closer to them where they all felt the urge to run. Meanwhile, Tulip’s pet donkey, Parsnip sensed that her owner was in trouble so she broke free of her parking spot to find her cart in tow.
“You guys are messing with me, right?” Hannah asked, the only one not scared.
“That's it, after this we are SO getting your hearing aid and glasses checked!” Pin snapped, frantically pulling at her hand. The sound of horse steps started getting louder and louder and Tulip Looked over her shoulder a second and there he was: The Headless Horseman himself.
“HELP!!!” Tulip screamed.
“RUN!” Eleanor chimed in.
Pin bolted.
And, for once, Hannah didn't question them or just think that this was one of their jokes—but joined the running. Living up to the costume she was wearing and swearing with words none of them even knew existed.
It was at that moment Parsnip showed up with the cart and Tulip leaped into the driver's seat while Eleanor and Pin quickly helped Hannah into the back of the cart.
“Come on girl! Keep moving! Head for the bridge!” Tulip ordered the donkey.
------------------------------------------------------------
Tulip ran into the hotel, breathing heavily and in a panic. Her headband was nowhere in sight and her dress was ripped and muddy at the bottom.
“TULIP! Oh, sweetie, what happened to ya?!” Lampwick exclaimed in shock and horror at her sorry state.
“DADDY! We ran into the Headless Horseman! It was really scary !”
“That's… an… understatement.” Pin panted heavily, leaning on Eleanor, who was practically breathless.
Hannah was nowhere in sight.
Lampwick embraced his daughter and said “Oh, sweetheart! I’m so sorry I NEVER should have let ya go to that party!” “It’s ok dad.. I never should have begged you to go in the first place!” “Oh Tulip …” He finally let go and Looked around. “Say where’s Hannah Hook?”
Everyone went quiet for a moment. And then a whole different kind of panic ensued.
------------------------------------------------------------
Hannah scowled, crossing her arms as CJ and Harry laughed and laughed with Peter and Ally.
“Oh come on guys, it's not funny!”
“Hannah, after growing up on the Isle, you should know better than to be out after dark on Halloween so you deserved what you got!” Harriet scolded her younger sister.
“Yeah, pipsqueak.” Harry kept laughing, “Serves ya right, lil’ sis..” “Honestly, How Stupid can you be !?” CJ added.
“Oh go fuck yourselves. How was I supposed to know this particular Urban Legend was right?! You guys know I spent all of Halloween out at night back on the isle!” The youngest (chronically) huffed. “And should have left you to the witches when you were eight, CJ!”
At this CJ glared at her.
“I thought we AGREED to NEVER Speak of that!”
“Oh, like how we agreed to never speak about the fact you, Harry, and Ginny all separately tried to KILL me?!”
Peter and Ally stopped laughing.
“WHAT?!!” Harriet screamed.

░❇ Buy Me Some Coffee~? ❇░
Chapter Warning: Violence, death of a minor character, blood.
A/n: Key Notes about this chapter:
There will be more Kwami Swapping. I know it can be annoying, but hey...we'll see who gets who this round.
New characters are appearing as a teaser. Fully revealed in the next and final chapter of this arc.
Ladybug and Chat Noir are gonna be super OP down the line. Then again, so are Bakugo and Deku.
As requested by you folks, more of the American teen heroes xD
So with that, let's get to part three~
“We need to find Empress Tigresse and King Stinger!” Chat Noir argued, the two having been called by Lady Dragon, the heroine reporting that Techlonizer was spotted with some allies and would need backup.
“I know! But we need to prioritize this first!” Ladybug explained as she was swinging into the scene, already ready to summon her Lucky Charm.
“Don’t be scared~“ Techlonizer chuckled, watching the United Heroez carefully with a dark smirk, “I only wish to finish what I started~”
Ladybug was about to throw her yo-yo up in the air, but suddenly felt her communicator go off. Biting her lower lip, she picked up and answering it, frantically hissed.
“Kinda busy here! Still have to de-akumatize Techlonizer!”
“It’s about Zoe. She was akumatized and we need backup” King Stinger spoke from the comm as his face was shown on Ladybug’s screen, frowning. In the background, Empress Tigresse, Pixie Girl and The Sorcerer were doing their best to stop Sole Crusher from stomping on anymore people.
“We need you here. NOW!”
“I’ll go!” Rody’s voice called as he was coming out of the fire, soot covered his body from head to toe, Pino flying frantically above him while the ladybug and kitten stayed on Rody’s shoulders, “You deal with these guys, I’ll deal with Zoe!“
Ladybug had so many questions. However, her eyes landed on the briefcase that was in Rody’s hand and immediately understood. Nodding her head, she soon rushed to get Techlonizer and his crew, Chat Noir reluctantly following after her.
Lady Dragon landed next to Rody, already turning into her full dragon form, “Hop on. I’ll go with you.”
The Otheon thief didn’t argue as he jumped on her back, the two now soaring to the sky to locate where King Stinger and the others would be.
“NO!” Nine yelled, about to chase them but not before both Deku and Bakugo jumped in together, kicking the armoured man to another building to stop him.
The current Holder of One-For-All paused in his steps as Bakugo went straight ahead to use his Exploding Gaunlets towards the villain, looking around for someone.
When his eyes landed on Bonnie Blanche, he rushed over to her, “Bon, I need you.”
Perking up with a bright smile as she was called on, the rabbit themed heroine looked over at him and hopped over to him, “What do you need, Deku?”
“We need to head to places and pick up some people. Will you help me?”
The rabbit heroine nodded, already opening a burrow with a twirl of her umbrella. Taking his hand, Bonnie Blanche soon jumped in with Deku in tow, and the two ending up in the “warren” where the other portals were.
“So what is it that you’re planning?” Bonnie Blanche asked before she saw the Dragon Pendant in hand and blinked when Izuku pointed at a portal.
“First I have to go to Shoto-kun and get the Bee Miraculous back.”
“But why?”
Deku was about to explain when he shivered for a second, frowning when he glanced over somewhere, Bonnie Blanche following his line of sight. He didn’t know why, but he felt like someone was watching him. However, the presence was gone as soon as he was pinpointing it out, making Deku narrow his eyes.
“D-deku?” Bonnie Blanche asked worriedly, snapping Deku out of it.
“…Sorry,” The green haired hero turned to her and smiled weakly, then looked determined, “Anyways! I have a plan!”
Rody looked down at the briefcase on his lap with a somber look, pursing his lips as he touched over the top of it. Taking a deep breath, he opened it with a click of the locks, peeking inside.
There, he saw a four sectioned square casings with a circular center and a gold outline. In each section of the square are four different objects and in a different color with a darker-shaded circled symbol in the center. One of the objects missing was a red section with a darker eagle symbol. The objects that were inside are some sort of traditional looking cloak pin, some sort of ring, and feathered earrings.
But his eyes was mostly focused on the middle one, which seems to be some sort of hair tie with tribunal patterns on it. Unconsciously, he reached out for the hair tie and once it was in the palm of his hand, a warm glow formed above the object. Rody didn’t feel scared about this, almost feeling a sense of dejavu as a little Kwami like creature appeared before him. This little one looked a lot like Pino in a way, only their body was green with red, black and white patterned wings along with their feathered top.
Opening it’s dark beady eyes, the creature cooed softly in warmth.
“Greetings, my new Chosen. My name is Talli.”
“I’m Rody.” The boy introduced himself immediately, not noticing Fei was looking back at him questionably, “I’m sorry that you’re stuck with me. Your master…“
“—Has completed his mission. Now your destiny shall begin,” Talli watched as Rody looked down at the Miraculous in hand, his eyes sorrowful and unsure, “Why do you not have confidence in yourself, Young Rody?”
“Because all my life, I’ve done bad things to survive. I had to cheat, lie and do anything so I could place food for the table for my siblings. Try to give them a way to have a bright future when I couldn’t,” Rody murmured as he squeezed the Miraculous in hand, “I do not deserve to be a Miraculous holder, especially not the new Guardian. Can’t I give it to Pixie Girl or The Sorcerer? They were looking for your Master and you guys—“
“Pala would NEVER give the Miracle Box to someone he was not sure of. The Spirits of his ancestors has led you to him as the next successor.“ Talli said with a sure tone, as Rody barked a laugh.
“No. It was a coincidence that we met. A mistake.“
“There is no such thing as coincidences. Do not mock a dead man’s wish for us to be in good hands. Your hands.”
Rody went silent as Talli continued.
“You are destined for great things. It starts now. I am sure your mother would be very proud of you and the man that you’ve grown up to be.”
“M-My mum?” Rody breathed out as he looked at the Kwami in confusion, “How—?”
“Rody?”
The brunet snapped his head towards the sound of a woman’s voice and gasped, his eyes widening in shock at the sight before him. Behind a glowing Pino was a visage of a middle aged woman dressed in a pilot’s suit with tanned skin, light brown hair like Rody’s that was tied as a side ponytail and bright silver like eyes.
“M…Mum…?”
Rody shakily reached a hand out to the spirit before him, tears welling in his eyes as the woman smiled softly, reaching her own gloved hand towards him.
“You’re so grown up. Time sure flies.” The woman laughed softly as Rody sobbed openly, wishing to reach up and hug her.
“Mum! Y-You’re here. R-roro and Lala, they—“
“I know. I’ve been watching you kids the whole time. I’m sorry that Ed had left you guys alone. I’m sorry that I wasn’t there for you when you needed me.”
Rody shook his head, sniffling, “N-No, it’s not your fault. If anything I…I’m sorry I let you down. I lost my way…”
“And you can find your way back. Rody,” The woman said firmly as she reached to touch his son’s cheek, softening a little, “It’s never too late to make a change. I’ve always told you to always take a leap of faith on anything your heart desires. Just as I know that flying is your dream. A big part of you that will never go away.”
“Mum, I have to look after the kiddos…”
“And you do a wonderful job, you’re the best big brother they could love and ask for. I’m very proud of you so far, and hope you continue to grow…” The woman softened as she then breathed out, “But you also have to take care of yourself too, my little wingspan.”
“Rody, we’re here!” Fei interrupted, the dragon flying near to where Soul Crusher was, already cornering Pixie Girl and the Sorcerer, both King Stinger and Empress Tigresse missing in action.
“Do what you gotta do, Rody. I know you will know what to do in the end.”
Rody snapped his head to his mother and shook his head, “N-No, no no, you—you just got here! I have so many things to say, so many things to ask…please don’t go yet, Mum—“
The woman smiled as she touched over where Pino was just floating motionlessly, and chuckled, “I’m not that far away. If you ever need me, you can always talk to this cutie right here. I’ll always be with you, Roro and Lala…I love you guys. This isn’t a goodbye. We’ll meet each other again.”
Rody sniffled, raising his hands up to catch Pino, who was floating down onto his palms. The woman slowly vanished into sparkles of light, leaving Rody to cry silently and hug his bird companion tightly to his chest. Once he got his bearings together, Talli looked to him with a knowing smile.
“So, Rody Soul…what shall you do now?“
He was quiet for a moment, chewing his lower lip as he thought for a moment. With a determined face, he took off his own hair tie and tied his hair with the Miraculous on, tightening his ponytail as he looked to the Kwami.
“Never too late to make a change, right?” Rody told the bird like creature as Pino woke up and rested on his shoulder with a chirp. Rody looked over to Sole Crusher then turned to Talli with a grin.
“So, what should I do?”
Talli chuckled in amusement, nodding their head, “All you have to say is; Talli, Soul of Unity.”
“STOP SCREWING AROUND!”
An explosion went off as both Ladybug and Chat Noir moved out of the way when Bakugo landed a hit on the bandaged covered man, sending him flying.
“Mummy Bastard…don’t underestimate me!”
“Are you okay?” Ladybug landed beside the blond, noticing then that one of his gauntlets were missing, then thought with an impressed smile, ’He sacrificed his own gear…’
“LOOK ALIVE PEOPLE!” Fury shouted as he and his other ghost partners flew above them, tackling the beast like man.
Next to them, Sparrow, Uncanny Valley and Tsukuyomi went after the woman with hair extending quirk.
“He’s right! We should take down Techlonizer and that other guy with him, and fast!” Chat Noir stated to Bakugo and Ladybug, twirling his bo-staff in his hand, “What’s the plan?”
“Judging with the fights against the pros, the new guy has more than one quirk,” Bakugo murmured as he looked to where Sir Nighteye and Eraserhead were up against Nine, then back at the duo, “You two deal with the Akumatized villain. I’ll help the heroes with those other freaks.”
“We’ve got your backup, Kacchan!”
Both Bakugo and Ladybug looked up and spotted Deku coming out from Bonnie Blanche’s portal, both he and the rabbit heroine were being followed by a few people.
“Wha…?”
Ladybug was surprised to see not just Carapace and Queen Beebeside Deku, but it seems there are new faces. The spotted heroine felt her head spin, before looking at Deku for an explanation.
“Okay, I can totally explain~”
“Anyways, I have a plan!”
Deku soon was popping his head into a portal nearby, reaching his arm out before pulling someone in. Glitter Gilt yelped as she looked around in surprise before looking back at him, then at Bonnie Blanche.
“Errrr, what’s up guys?” She asked as Deku was looking into another portal.
“Sabrina-san, power down for a moment, I need Daizzi for someone else.” He told her, soon reaching both his arms out into the portal to pull in King Stinger and Empress Tigresse.
The Bee Hero looked confused as he watched Glitter Gilt powered down, the Pig Kwami falling into her hands. Although Empress Tigresse whirled around to Deku to ask for an explanation, but Deku raised his hand up in front of her, shaking his head.
“No time to explain. Power down and hand me the Tiger Miraculous. Shoto, you as well. I will need Pollen.” Deku said all this calmly while he took the Pig Miraculous from Sabrina.
“What’s going on?” Shoto asked as he powered down, feeding Pollen before seeing Deku reaching into another portal once more, pulling in Rockershella, Feathertop and Cobalt Bull.
Deku told them to power down as well before looking back at the fire and ice hero.
“I need to give proper Miraculous to their permanent and respective owners. For this plan to succeed, I believe this is the best course of action.” He stated, taking the Bee Miraculous from Shoto before handing it to a gobsmacked Chloe, then reaching into another portal.
Sabrina, looking confused as Deku passed her the Tiger Miraculous to her, looked over at him, “Does Ladybug know you’re doing this?”
One knowing smile told her that, no, she didn’t.
Deku pulled Ubayagi into the warren with them, smiling softly at her once the Goat Heroine de-transformed and handed her Miraculous to him.
“So, um, w-what are we doing right now?” Nathaniel asked as his Miraculous was taken and suddenly was presented with…The Peacock Miraculous?
“As I’ve said, I’ve got the perfect line-up for everyone for this battle. Especially since we’re gonna be getting new recruits today,” Deku hummed, twirling the Turtle Miraculous in hand before handing it to Nino.
Which made Nino push the Miraculous back to Deku with a forlorn look.
“Are you crazy!? I screwed up as Carapace, you should give this to Nath and let him be Pridwen!”
“I second THAT. Why are you giving me the Bee again when Sabrina was doing brilliantly more so as the Bee Heroine?” Chloe argued, although Deku just looked at them as if their question was confounded.
“But you guys never screwed up as Carapace and Queen Bee?”
Nino snorted, “Do you not remember what happened with Sombre Swift?”
“That wasn’t your fault though?” Deku argued gently, while Nino was shaking his head, “Nino…”
“To be honest, Nino, I think Izuku has a point,” Nathaniel interrupted as he looked to Nino and softened, “While I know that Master Fu would be disappointed in me giving up my mantle for the Turtle, something in my whole being tells me you were the true holder for Wyazz than I.”
Nino stared at his friend and then gripped the bracelet in his hand, “…I don’t—”
“You have always been a loyal friend. Protective and true where it counts. And you’re not the only one that makes mistakes here,” The red head reasoned as he gave a smile, “So…if Izuku thinks you should be Carapace again, I do not mind giving you back the mantle.”
Nino sniffled for a moment, giving a one arm hug to Nathaniel and smiled, “…Thanks, man.”
He placed the bracelet on and watched it glow, Wyazz appearing before him and was surprised when the Kwami hugged his face.
“Duuuude~!” The Turtle Kwami let out a happy cry, which made Nino cry and pat the little guy’s head.
“Duuuude~!”
Meanwhile, Chloe stared down at the hairpin in hand then shook her head, walking towards Sabrina. She tried to hand it back to her, but was surprised when Sabrina refused.
“Pollen knows you’re her true holder. And so do I.” Sabrina explained as she smiled at her best friend, “You may think that being Queen Bee was a fluke, but I’ve always believed you were made to be her,”
“B-But…I’ve worked so hard being good…wh-what if I fall back to being the old Chloe again?”
“That won’t happen,” Shoto tilted his head as he stepped beside her, “But then again, I do not know what ‘the old you’ was like. But Chloe-san is still Chloe-san at the end of the day. Someone that wishes to help her friends and do good. Someone exceptional.”
Sabrina was relieved at his words, and she turned her head to watch Pollen appear before Chloe.
“My Queen,” The swami bowed her head as she smiled happily, “Whatever you decide, I shall support you. But as I’ve told Queen Sabrina, you are my true Queen.”
Deku watched quietly as Chloe teared up, but soon placed the hairpin into her hair and brought her confident face on. Good, he would think with a smile.
“So…I shall not be holding a Miraculous this time?” Shoto asked, noticing Kirishima and Yaoyorozu were not given a Miraculous either.
Deku grinned, “No. But I do have some ideas for you, Shoto. The same with Yaomomo and Eijiro.”
Nathaniel hummed, looking down at the brooch in hand. Curious, he placed it over his chest and watched it glow, Duusu appearing before him with a smile
“Oooohhh~ So cute~ And warm!” They cooed, nuzzling into the red head’s cheek. “Shall we?”
“I suppose we shall,” Nathaniel chuckled, stroking the top of the Kwami’s head with a finger.
Sabrina placed her Miraculous on and watched Rooar appear in front of her.
“Oohhh I can sense a fighting spirit in you~“ The Tiger Kwami said with a grin, “Ready to fight, partner~?”
“I-If you will have me!” The girl in glasses smiled, nodding her head.
Momo watched them before looking over at Deku, “So who are getting the Dragon, Ox, Pig and Goat then?”
Deku looked thoughtful for a moment.
“I…might have an idea for the Dragon. But I’m gonna need help with the rest,” Looking to her, Shoto and Eijiro, he smiled, “This is where you guys come in.”
Ladybug did notice that Momo, Shoto and Eijiro weren’t here and looked to Izuku questionably.
“Where did they go?”
“They have their own missions. Now…” Deku was looking at the new Dragon Heroine beside him, “Introduce yourself please~”
Looking unsure, the young Dragon Heroine sighed before looking to Ladybug, smiling, “I’m…Zhulong. Nice to meet you, Ladybug. I’m a huge fan!”
“Indeed she is. She even wears a costume of you—“ Izuku gulped a chuckle when the embarrassed Dragon Heroine nudged at him.
“Er, nice to meet you, Zhulong?” Ladybug smiled a little before looking back at the One-For-All user, “And the rest?”
Deku smirked, tilting his head, “On the way~”
Shoto should’ve known that he he was going to be faced with a challenge.
“So we’re going to convince my half sister to de-akumatize herself, and if that doesn’t work, we’re gonna defeat her and get her to use the Pig Miraculous?” Queen Bee said in a deadpan tone, her and Shoto arriving back to the area where Sole Crusher was, “Yeah, as if the first plan will happen.”
“We’ll have to try.” The fire and ice quirk user hummed as they rushed towards where Pixie Girl and Sorcerer were fending Sole Crusher back, but then blinked when two new faces arrived in the scene.
“Lady Dragon!…And, um…?” Queen Bee looked astounded at a colourful bird themed hero next to the Chinese heroine, and frowned, “Who’s this clown?”
“Thunderbird,” The new hero grinned as he saluted, “Nice to meet you, honeybee~”
The bee heroine narrowed her eyes, finding that cheeky look very familiar.
“About time bloody reinforcements are here!” The Sorcerer shouted at Shoto and Queen Bee and blinked, “Where’s King Stinger, and who…..?”
A small smile was on Shoto’s face and Queen Bee raised a brow, and the magician like hero felt stupid for asking.
“She’s gotten stronger since stepping on those civilians. We need a plan,” Pixie Girl breathed out with tiredness, “I’m already running out of juice as it is and might transform back…”
“I have an idea,” Thunderbird raised a hand up before looking at Lady Dragon, “Distract Sole Crusher, I’ll go from behind. Honeybee, Candy Cane, with me.”
“…Candy Cane?” Shoto raised a brow before Queen Bee snorted.
“I think that’s you.”
Lady Dragon looked at Thunderbird for a moment before touching his arm, looking worriedly at him, “Be safe.”
The bird themed hero smiled, winking, “Naturally. I ain’t gonna lose here. Just have my back, m’kay?”
Lady Dragon nodded, transforming into Lady Eagle and soon was flying into the sky to be in the akuamtized giantess’ face, making Sole Crusher roar and try to swat her away while Pixie Girl and the Sorcerer followed her lead. Thunderbird pursed his lips, turning to jump high onto a building, with Shoto and Queen Bee following after him.
“So what’s your plan?” The Bee Heroine asked as Thunderbird landed gracefully onto the top of a tall building, staring at Sole Crusher.
“First, we’re gonna need to distract Sole Crusher before I make my move and use my Miraculous.” Thunderbird hummed before looking at the two, “Honeybee, since I know your Miraculous can freeze things on the spot, I need you to sting at Sole Crusher to keep her still. As for you, Candy Cane, I’m going to need you at the ready when we destroy the akumatized object.”
“It’s her shoes.” Shoto pointed out, and Thunderbird nodded.
“Okay, good. So that means that once I got her distracted enough, you’re gonna have to use those quirks of yours to destroy them.”
While that was going on, Lady Eagle shifted to Lady Dragon once more, flying over the skies as Pixie Girl and The Sorcerer were trying to keep her in place when they noticed Sole Crusher froze with wide eyes, looking at something.
“VENOM!”
Queen Bee yelled as she managed to prick the akumatized giantess and Shoto was quick to use his ice to freeze her into place just in case the Venom won’t last long.
Thunderbird made a quick dash had landed onto Sole Crusher’s back and placed his hand onto her, his eyes glowing a soft golden hue. He soon raised his weapon, which happened to be a golden sickle, and waved it in the air.
“Sorry, Zoe. Spirit Form: Unity.“
Thunderbird felt the world melt around him into darkness, his body glowing as he stood alone in the abyss of blackness he was now standing on. Frowning, he walked around for a moment to find out where he was until he heard quiet sobbing. He followed the sound, letting his feet lead him until he stopped by a hunched looking figure. Zoe.
Softening, the hero walked over to the girl and touched her head, making the blonde jump in surprise. Whirling around, tears were streaking down her face with her lower lip quivering, shoulders and chest heaving in a way as if trying to hold back from bawling.
“Zoe…”
“Leave me alone…” The small whimper came from the girl, curling herself back up again pathetically.
“I can’t. You have to come back to your senses, Zoe.” Thunderbird murmured as he watched her, and Zoe scoffed.
“It’s not like anyone wants me back. My father doesn’t. Rody certainly doesn’t.”
Thunderbird tried to mentally not wince at that, and feeling even more awful that the statement she said was totally true. But it wasn’t the time to dwell on that.
“Be as it may, if you don’t snap out of it, you’re gonna end up hurting more people than you are right now,”
“I don’t care anymore,” Zoe murmured as she buried her face into her knees, hugging her legs close to her chest, “I just wanna disappear.”
“Oh grow up, Zoe.” Thunderbird almost lost his temper and took a deep breath, noticing that there was a shadow-y butterfly lingering close by, “Seriously. Are you just going to keep feeling sorry for yourself?”
Zoe looked up at him angrily with tears, “Why do you even care?!”
“I don’t! I just want you to stop thinking of just yourself and hurting everyone around you!”
Meanwhile, outside in reality, Lady Dragon transformed back to her humanoid form and stood with Pixie Girl and The Sorcerer, Shoto and Queen Bee rushing behind them. They all watched how a glowing Thunderbird was so still and quiet along with a frozen looking Sole Crusher, as if time stopped for the both of them.
“So this must be the power of his Miraculous?” The Sorcerer hummed, tapping his chin as he tilted his head, “What now? Do we wait? My magic could dispel the Akuma…however, I am afraid my power is not enough for one this big?”
“We should get the Akuma now while he has a hold on her. At least when it breaks free, we could contain it before Ladybug gets here.” Lady Dragon murmured as she was soon approaching to Sole Crusher’s shoes, but was stopped by Queen Bee, “Wha—?”
“We have to wait for Ladybug,” She stated to Lady Dragon with a frown, “Meaning we don’t touch until we can get in contact with her.”
“It will be too late by then, and I don’t think Thunderbird can hold Sole Crusher for this long.”
Suddenly, all five heroes heard a sound and whipped their heads to see Chimera rushing from building to building, jumping over them to reach behind Thunderbird’s back. Queen Bee growled as she was soon rushing u a building to stop him, Shoto using his ice to make steps for her to use to get up there.
“Don’t you touch him!” The Bee Heroine yelled as she was readying her fists, knocking the the wolf like man back from pouncing at Thunderbird, Shoto following her to make an ice wall in between them.
Lady Dragon, Pixie Girl and The Sorcerer following after them, ready to defend them off from the villain, but soon were surprised as a bunch of Nomus appeared out of nowhere.
“W-what? How is this possible?” Shoto looked back to see the creatures, noticing the black swarming portals and frowned, ‘Does this mean Kurogiri is somewhere around here? But how?’
Thunderbird blinked as he felt his surroundings shake for a moment, looking around before glancing over at Zoe now curled into a fetal position. He didn’t have time for this!
“Okay, look,” The bird Miraculous holder crouched down before her as he rested his arms over his knees, looking at her tiredly, “I…am not good at this whole hero’s speech thing. Heck, I don’t think I’m cut out to be a damn hero in the first place.”
He noticed Pino’s transparent form floating above him along with Lady, and then Lucky curling next to him. Pursing his lips, he placed his hand out for a moment, feeling Lady landing on his palm as she gave a soft ruby like glow.
“I wonder…” He murmured as he closed his eyes and then whispered quietly, “…Lucky Charm.”
A warmth spread from his fingertips as a weight was now placed in his hand. Opening his eyes, he blinked when he saw it was—
“…Heh, what a terrible irony,”
Zoe looked up at Thunderbird’s words, then her eyes widened as she sat up, seeing it were sneakers. The very ones that look a lot like what Rody bought her years ago, only…it was red with black polka dots.
“…How—?”
“I suppose my Lucky Charm wanted you to remember where you came from.”
Thunderbird hummed as he saw how Zoe’s eyes wavered, almost teary as he then sighed.
“It’s not too late to turn a new leaf. You can’t go back to what was, but you can move forward for a better tomorrow.”
Zoe pursed her lips, as she sniffed. Thunderbird noticed that an outline of a butterfly appeared over her face, knowing that whoever has the Butterfly Miraculous now was trying to feed more negative energy.
“B-But…I gotta c-crush those in my way…otherwise t-they’ll step all over me—“
“You don’t have to crush anyone. There’s no such thing as winners OR losers,” The hero hummed as he felt Lucky nuzzling against his leg, reaching out to pet him, “There’s just…people. With a lot of unique differences and individualities…”
Back outside,Lady Dragon flew over to where Thunderbird was, seeing the hero hasn’t move and eyes still glowing, “Thunderbird! Hurry it up in there—“
“I’m not finished!“ The bird like hero bellowed, his voice mixed with various of others, which shocked the Chinese heroine.
Thunderbird looked up at the darkness with a frown, before looking back at Zoe.
“Zoe, you can start over. You can make new friends. You don’t have to take the abuse your father gives you. Just. Be. Yourself.”
Zoe looked at him, and Thunderbird took this to continue.
“You might trip, you might fall. And there will be always someone to help you back up…do not let the voices in your head win!”
Zoe pursed her lips while thinking, and soon she was holding her head and groaning, “Get. Out. Of. My. Head….”
Thunderbird smiled as he was soon pushed out from Zoe’s head—
Shoto managed to freeze Chimera in place, but then looked up when he heard a scream and saw that Sole Crusher broke away from the Akuma’s control, turning back into regular size Zoe. Thunderbird managed to create wings behind his back and flew to catch her, the two landing back on the ground.
“NOW!”
The Sorcerer yelled as he was spinning his star staff and raised it in the air, making a bubble around the GIANT AKUMA trying to attack them. Pixie Girl soon used her own magic to sprinkle over the bubble to create her own magical sphere to keep it in. Lady Dragon flew above them to aid Shoto into keeping Chimera frozen, and Queen Bee rushed to meet with Thunderbird, who was checking over Zoe.
“W-wha…?” Zoe looked around for a moment, holding her head and frowning, “What happened?”
“Quick, give her this!” Queen Bee was holding out what seems to be a pink anklet, and Thunderbird looked at her questionably.
“Is that—?”
“Zoe Lee.”
Zoe looked up at the Bee Heroine, who rolled her eyes before pushing the Pig Miraculous into her hands.
“I don’t have to explain. But if you wanna be useful, then help us.”
“What are we doing here?”
Eijiro frowned as he and Momo were now standing in what seems to be a police station. Bonnie Blanche brought them here to find the two individuals for the Ox and Goat Miraculous.
“Deku knew that we would find the perfect holders for these particular Miraculous. And I trust him.” Momo breathed out as she then was stopping to a black door, reaching to open it and step in.
The two blinked when finding a blonde haired girl and a short dark haired girl sitting near a table, looking frightened and Eijiro placed his hands up to show they weren’t dangerous.
“It’s okay. We’re friends…w-we were sent by Ladybug. Are you…Aurore-san?”
“—And Mirielle-san?” Momo added.
Aurore and Mireille blinked as they both nodded, making Eijiro and Momo relieved.
“Ladybug is looking for us?” Mirielle asked.
“Well, technically she and some others are hoping you’d help join the fight against the forces of evil. But, you don’t have to if you don’t think you can.” Eijiro assured as Momo was holding out the Ox and Goat Miraculous.
“Aurore Beauréal. Mireille Caquet. We need your help.”
Naomasa Tsukauchi was stepping into his office when he saw a bright light, blinking in surprise before getting into gear. He rushed over to the room where he had left the poor French girls in, and once he arrived, the room was empty.
“Wha—?”
A laugh echoed behind him and the detective turned his head to see Crawler grinning at him.
“Looks like someone swiped up your guests. Wonder who~?”
“Crawler!”
The vigilante shrugged, Crawler walking over to the room and then spotted what seems to be a piece of paper with writing on it. Picking it up, he read it quietly, then laughed as he placed a hand over his face, making Tsukauchi look at him weirdly.
“What? What is it?”
Crawler shook his head, a sharp grin stretching on his face, “Looks like things are going to get interesting~”
‘She’s quicker than I imagined.’
Tsukuyomi growled as he was dodging Slice’s sharp hair extensions from hitting him along with her knives being thrown at him, Uncanny Valley and Sparrow aiding him to taking her down. The Jet Black Hero looked around, seeing his allies having their own battles going on. The Ghost Force already taking down the Mummy fellow, Deku and Bakugo were already having difficulty taking Nine down along with Ladybug and Chat Noir taking down Techlonizer as well. While the Pros and other Miraculous heroes were trying to help out, many Nomus ended up randomly popping out, making things quite difficult.
Which left himself with his two teammates to take down the red haired villainess.
‘I need an opening!’
“THIS IS PATHETIC!” Slice shouted with an evil grin, but yelped when Sparrow used their birdarangs at her.
“UNCANNY! NOW!”
The robotic girl flew above and raised her hand, shooting a laser beam at Slice, slicing bits of her hair completely.
“THIS IS IT!” Tsukuyomi yelled, about to use Dark Shadow’s abilities until he saw that Slice did not appreciate her long luscious hair being cut off.
Rage built in her eyes as she crazily started shooting spikes of her hair at them like needles, “HOW DARE YOU!”
Sparrow dodged the flying projectiles with ease, bringing their skateboard down to ride away from it while Uncanny flew in the air. Unfortunately, a few embedded themselves onto Uncanny’s legs, making her yell out as she suddenly fell into an alleyway, crashing.
“AEON!”
Sparrow was quick to rush to check on her, seeing how the robot like girl powered down, showing the very hurt Aeon. Removing her mask, Jess reached over to check on her sister, the voice changer on the ground.
“Aeon, no, please…”
Tsukuyomi was frozen on the spot, anger boiling in him but then blinked when he felt warmth in his cloak. Quickly, the bird headed hero took out the necklace that he had taken from the museum and saw the object glow. Lo and behold, a bird like creature appeared before him.
“Hello, my little fledging~! My name is Liiri, the Kwami of Freedom!“ They introduced happily, tilting their head and winked, “All you have to say is: Liiri, Wings of Liberty!“
Nodding his head, Tsukuyomi placed the talon necklace around his neck and shouted, “Liiri! WINGS OF LIBERTY!”
In a flash, Tsukuyomi felt the sensation of his clothes changing, and power surging into him, surprising not just Jess and Aeon, but it sent fear onto Slice as well.
“No…w-what is this?”
A new hero stood in Eagle like garbs, the Miraculous holder looking down at his gloved his hands before looking to Slice.
“I am Spilornis. And you shall be brought to justice!” The new Eagle Hero spoke in a powerful and deep voice, already bringing his fingers locked together and clothes his eyes, a golden feather floated in front of him, “Liberation.”
Suddenly, a scream escaped Slice for a moment as her body was glowing gold after the feather flew and landed over her heart, embedding into her. But after a minute, the light died down from her body and soon she fell forward with a thump.
“Wha…?” Jess stood up and helped Aeon up as well, watching how Slice was unconscious on the ground and twitching, “What just happened? What did you do?”
“Liberation does not work with those that would reject it.”
Suddenly, Liiri appeared on Spilornis’ shoulder, shocking all three teen heroes, although the Eagle Hero blinked slowly.
“What…how are you here?”
“Aren’t Kwamis usually, like, stuck in the user’s suit?” Jess added, as Liiri cackled softly.
“It would seem thanks to your quirk, little fledging, your Dark Shadow allowed me to appear before you and talk with you. Quite rare and useful, if I do say so~”
Spilornis hummed, looking at Slice’s body, “She…rejected Liberation?”
“Indeed. For you see, once the feather is inside the target’s body, whoever is the Eagle Miraculous holder can free the recipient from any mental or emotional restriction of their choosing that prevents the recipient from reaching their full potential, such as a code of ethics, a vow to not do something, or the fear of the destructive potential of one's own power.”
“So by rejecting it…?”
“Her will to not be taken over by Liberation adjusted the spell into knocking her out for a good while.”
“So she rather just be a bad person than to be good? That’s messed up,” Jess huffed and Spilornis looked at her, then at Aeon.
“Aeon-san?”
“I-I am alright…” She hummed and looked down at her leg that had the piercings from Slice’s locks, frowning, “But I thought my robotic shell would prevent me from being hurt…I…should not be even hurt?”
Jess winced, then saw how Spilornis was looking at her and sighed, “Aeon…t-there’s something I gotta tell you. That maybe our moms should have told you—”
“DIIIIIIIIIIE!”
Bakugo yelled as he was aiming his explosives towards Nine, Deku jumping over him to deliver his Delaware Smash towards the villain but the two were soon pushed back by two blue water dragons, making them crash into a building before them.
“We should assist them!” Spilornis told the two, Jess nodding as she was soon placing her hood and mask on, forgetting about her voice changer while she soon easily carried Aeon in her arms.
“I’ll take Aeon somewhere to safety. You go ahead,” Sparrow said and with the help of her skateboard, the two soon made their escape, and the Eagle Hero rushed to help his friends.
Ladybug looked up from fighting Techlonizer and her eyes widened at the sight of Deku and Bakugo and looked towards Chat Noir along with Hitoshi,The New Tiger Heroine: Rayures and The New Peacock Hero: Avarius.
“Guys, we need to take Techlonizer down NOW!”
Ladybug soon made a run, Carapace ducking and bringing his shield up above him, providing as a spring board and pushed Ladybug to jump high above the akumatized villain. Raising for a kick, Ladybug dived down to Techlonizer, knowing that he has to block, Hitoshi following at her side to use his capture weapon to tie his metal arms.
“RAYURES, NOW!”
“CLOUT!” The Tiger Heroine yelled, sliding towards Techlonizer and aimed for his chest, punching him into the sky.
Shinso was quick to use his capture weapon once he was coming down, and tying him up.
“CATACLYSM!” Chat Noir yelled, jumping over her to destroy his cuffs, watching it disintegrate and a LARGE dark butterfly flew out of it, trying to escape.
Carapace was soon using his shield to trap them in, looking over to also see that some escaped but the Ghost Force managed to corner them with their own powers.
“No more evil doing for you, akumas!” Ladybug shouted, already spinning her yo-yo and quickly grabbed all the akumas together, and purifying them.
“Ladybug! Here too!”
Star Stallion had opened a portal as Thunderbird was poking his head in, but managed to duck when a frozen looking Chimera being thrown to the ground. Stepping out, Pixie Girl, The Sorcerer, Queen Bee, Shoto and a blonde pig themed heroine stepped out.
“The akuma?” Ladybug asked, but blinked when the Pig Heroine stepped forward, already holding out what seems to be a large gift-wrapped box.
“They are all in here, um, L-Ladybug.”
Ladybug stared at her for a moment, tentatively taking the box and actually observing her, “And what is your name?”
“Mangalica Majesty.”
“Huh, what a name…” Ladybug hummed before opening the box and was prepared for the huge akuma, the Miraculous Team already on breaking it apart to tiny ones, and Ladybug cleansing all of them.
“Bug! Bakugo and Deku!” Chat Noir interrupted, pointing up to Nine pinning his sapphire stoned dragons onto the heroes, “We gotta help them!”
“Everyone, help the other heroes with the Nomus. Chat, let’s go.”
The cat hero nodded, as the two then raced to reach their friends.
“It’s you and me now, Chaton!” Ladybug looked over at her partner, who nodded.
“You and me against the world once more. Let’s save our friends!”
The two then froze in their steps, feeling a sudden surge of something go from their heads to the very soles of their feet. Ladybug and Chat Noir looked at each other for a moment, before looking up when everything was suddenly dead silence. As if the world has stopped around them. Shaking their heads, the two rushed towards Bakugo and Deku, jumping up to them and landing on top of the dragons’ heads.
“Hold on! We’re getting you out!” Chat Noir yelled, already trying to pry the dragon’s mouth to open and release Deku.
Ladybug was already next to Bakugo, when she heard him murmur. Squinting at him, she learned closer to hear what he was saying.
“…Won’t…lose…”
“Huh? What are you saying now?”
The blond growled in annoyance, as he looked up at him, “..I…won’t…lose…”
Chat looked over at them before looking down at Deku, “So? Any other tricks up your sleeve?”
Deku gave a small grin, as he laughed weakly, “…Just one. But d-do you trust me?”
Chat Noir blinked, but nodded his head, “Course. After all we’ve been through so far…”
Deku looked over at Ladybug and Bakugo now, coughing out their names, which made them look over at him questionably.
“Ladybug…Kacchan….I-I…I have a crazy…idea…”
Bakugo was quiet as Ladybug looked confused.
“There’s…only one way…to defeat Nine…”
Something in Bakugo’s eyes clicked at that moment, and Ladybug looked between them.
“What? W-what is it?”
Deku held out his hand to them, desperation and hope in his eyes. Ladybug still didn’t understand what was going through the green headed hero’s head, but she figured Bakugo could understand what were his intentions judging the way he was reaching out. She looked down at the Lucky Charm in her hand that she had summoned a while ago…which happened to be tablet. The very same one she uses that contained the copy of the Grimoire.
Marinette looked surprised at Master Fu using her phone to picture each page of the Grimoire and sending it to what seems to be a personal Ladybug Tablet.
“So…what was the reason of doing this?” She asked as she observed him, the Master smiling mysteriously.
“One of these days I shall be gone. Which means that before then, you’ll need to study up on the Grimoire in your spare time before I shall pass it down to you and the other Guardians.” He explained.
Adrien, who was next to Marinette as he was flipping his own copy in his Chat Noir tablet, made an ‘ooh~’ sound as he pointed something on screen, “No way~? We can actually give energy to people? Like a power boost?”
“Only the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous can. As the two that are set to be the balance of the universe, they are indeed powerful enough to give strong, natural energy. Almost life energy,” Fu hummed, as he looked solemn, “I believe some theorise that this was one of the reasons that quirks were created in this day and age. That some previous holders of the Ladybug and Cat had unified with each other to give birth to the dawn of humans having powers of their own.”
“So…does it count as a wish? Making quirks exist, I mean?” Marinette asked, as Fu shrugged.
“Who knows? But I believe that you can give power to those that need it without wishing for it. But that is the choice of the Ladybug and Cat to decide…but it comes with a lot of consequences, of course.”
Ladybug hummed as she looked at Chat Noir, as she gave a look. Somehow, Chat Noir understood with that one look, nodding his head.
Deku blinked as he felt Chat Noir place his hands onto his head, looking up at him for a moment to see what he was doing. The feline hero closed his eyes, something about his aura felt…light. Almost as if he was mustering up some sort of feeling. It made Deku’s insides swell.
Ladybug was doing the same, as she had placed her hands onto Bakugo’s spiky hair, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath.
A pink like glow formed around Ladybug, growing brighter and brighter as Chat Noir was the same, only the light shining off of him was green. This made both Bakugo and Deku look at each other, before once more reaching out to each other. The finger tip of Deku’s almost touched Bakugo’s that had a bloody cut, almost grazing each other’s hands before quickly grabbing a full hold.
Thunderbird's eyes glowed for a moment as his head tilted.
He saw lines of green and orange strings around not just Bakugo and Deku…but around Ladybug and Chat Noir as well.
Comments and Love are appreciated~ See you in the final chapter of this New York Arc. Because after this, it's the main plot again~

Of Two Worlds (Book 3) Chapter Six
Fushiguro Megumi x Half-Curse! Reader
Chapter Six: Angel
Summary: (Y/N) and Megumi meet the Angel, reunite with Itadori, and the next phase of their plan begins. Oh, and other people's schemes are coming to fruition.
Mouse Note: Lots of plot, both Gege's and mine.
(Y/N) jerked up as she awoke, instantly summoning daggers in case she was in danger. Beside her, Megumi woke at the sudden movement and sat up.
“Good morning, Destined One, Celestial One,” said the Angel, smiling at them. “Did you sleep well?”
“How long were we out?” Megumi looked away from the Angel to a familiar face standing at the window. “I’m talking to you, Itadori.”
“About two days? It’s the night of the fourteenth. (L/N) nearly woke up a few times, but she needed time to heal as well,” said Itadori.
(Y/N) nodded. Her injuries had sealed within her, but her usage of Reverse Cursed Technique hadn’t completely healed her. It made sense that her energy had been sapped. But if I could summon it again, the exhaustion would be worth it.
“Yo! Are you awake?! You must be hungry, so I swiped us some eats!” A strange man in a half-naked, half-clothed outfit and covered in smiley-faces.
“Pino ice-cream!” said Itadori excitedly.
“Did they have chocolate mint?” asked the Angel.
“Yep! At shops where there’s still electricity, the frozen foods are still good. But why’s the power on?” asked the man.
“Can’t you guess?” said the Angel as they opened their sweet treat. “There hasn’t been an earthquake, and cursed spirits don’t attack buildings. There might be leakages, but it was decided to supply power from outside for the people left behind.” They glanced at the smiley-face man. “Takaba, you became a player outside, right? On the way here, did you hear anything on the news?”
“I don’t watch much news,” said Takaba.
“Naïve adults are just evil, you know?” said the Angel.
“Maybe Kenjaku did it through the higher-ups so that it wouldn’t interfere with the Culling Game,” said Megumi, sitting beside (Y/N) on the edge of the bed. “For now, I gotta use the toilet and take a bath. Give me the details after I’m done.”
(Y/N) nodded. “I need to get cleaned up, too.”
“I can help you,” said the Angel, offering a hand to Megumi.
He ignored her and instead lifted (Y/N) up with him, gentle and careful in case she was still injured. It was odd, but with everything happening, he didn’t care about acting gentle with her and revealing his preference towards her.
l
Later, once (Y/N) and Megumi were clean and had food in front of them, the discussion of their situation and the state of the Culling Game continued.
“So…Itadori came across Takaba fighting, and then you came across Kurusu—” the Angel’s host, a teenage girl “—with (Y/N) and I?” said Megumi.
“Yep,” said Itadori.
“You should have been more careful,” said (Y/N).
“Aw, well, you know,” said Takaba, Itadori, and Kurusu jovially.
“But thank you,” said Megumi, bowing his head, and (Y/N) made the same gesture.
“Anyway, check this out, Fushiguro, (L/N),” said Itadori excitedly. He gestured to his kogane that displayed various player information. “Hakari got one hundred points! And that’s not all. Okkotsu snagged 190! Add in your guys’ points and Kurusu’s, Takaba has none, and we’ve got 379! We’ve met out quota! Fushiguro, now we can help Tsumiki!”
Yes, yes! All that’s left is to figure out how many points are needed to leave the game, thought Megumi in relief.
(Y/N) smiled slightly at the idea of saving Tsumiki.
“Can we use yours, though?” said Megumi, glancing at Kurusu.
“I don’t really have any use for them,” said Kurusu, smiling at him.
“I have more questions for you, Kurusu,” said Megumi. “We’re looking for a player called ‘the Angel.’ We heard they were in Tokyo Colony No. 2. So…are you the Angel? Why did you help us? And why are you in Tokyo No. 1?”
“Yes, I’m the Angel.” A mouth opened up on Kurusu’s cheek, and the group started. “You shouldn’t ask girls so many questions.”
(Y/N) blinked. So, Kurusu and the Angel were like Itadori and Sukuna (though hopefully not as cruel).
“Oh? She’s like me,” said Itadori.
“To answer your question,” said the Angel. “The reason Hana saved you is previously you—”
“Gah!” Kurusu laughed nervously and slapped a hand on her cheek. “Why not help a guy who’s collapsed? And his friend.”
“What a kind soul!” said Takaba and Itadori.
(Y/N) was unused to the idea of someone acting out of kindness and doubted it. But, she also couldn’t understand what another option could be. Then again, she wasn’t good with emotions.
“You must know my Cursed Technique if you were looking for me,” said the Angel, their mouth appearing on the back of the hand covering their original mouth. “I negate Cursed Techniques. Barrier Techniques, including seals, are no exception, so we can go in and out of barriers. There are more curses than players in Tokyo Colony No. 2. Maybe it’s because of the sea. That’s why I came here.”
“Why? If you avoid the night, predicting what curses will do is easier,” said Megumi.
“My objective is to wipe out all players who’ve reincarnated,” said the Angel. “Most of them do it by suppressing the vessel’s originally owner, whether intentionally or subconsciously. And that’s against God’s laws, so it’s wrong.”
“God?” said (Y/N), cocking her head.
“That’s just a name I give to my beliefs. Pay it no mind,” said the Angel. “So I’ve decided to live in symbiosis with Hana.”
“Then don’t reveal stuff about me, okay?” huffed Kurusu.
“Can your technique let vessels take back their bodies?” asked (Y/N).
“It’s not impossible, but it’s extremely likely they will die,” said the Angel. “Because the cursed object and body fuse. So it’s difficult to strip one away. Is there someone you want to fix? Sorry, but I doubt I can help.”
“No, we want you to remove a seal on the Prison Realm, a Special Grade Cursed Object,” said Megumi.
“Yeah, I can probably do that,” said the Angel.
Megumi and Itadori fist-bumped, and (Y/N) nodded.
“First I need your cooperation. Then I’ll remove the seal,” said the Angel.
“Surely, you don’t want us to kill every incarnated player,” said Megumi, narrowing his eyes.
“I am not that greedy,” said the Angel. “There’s one I especially want to butcher. The Disgraced One. I promise that if we kill that player, I won’t hesitate to help you.”
Itadori started suddenly, and all eyes went to him.
“Itadori? What’s wrong?” asked Megumi.
“I, uh…don’t feel well,” said Itadori.
(Y/N wasn't good at emotions, but she could tell he was lying.
“Kurusu, mind if I lie down on the sofa?” said Itadori.
“Go ahead,” said Kurusu, and Itadori moved behind her.
While Kurusu still faced Megumi and (Y/N), Itadori gestured behind her. He pointed at himself and drew shapes over his cheeks. Megumi and (Y/N) glanced at each other to confirm their fears.
Sukuna Ryomen was the Disgraced One. The Angel wanted to kill Sukuna, and that meant killing Itadori. (Y/N) and Megumi knew Itadori wouldn’t mind. He’d let himself die to save others. But (Y/N) and Megumi were unwilling to let that happen.
“That’s odd,” said the Angel suddenly, breaking the stream of thoughts each member of the trio had. “A large number of people are entering the colony.”
“You can tell?” asked Megumi.
“No, not me,” said the Angel. “The kogane!”
“Yes, indeed,” said the Angel/Kurusu’s kogane.
“Display the number of players from ten minutes ago,” said the Angel.
Sure enough, there was a steady uptick in the numbers, into the hundreds. Something was happening.
“We must leave at once,” said the Angel.
No one argued, and they all stood and ran out of the apartment and down the stairs.
“I suspect that Kenjaku’s goal is the mass slaughter of non-sorcerers by cursed spirits,” said the Angel.
“But why?” asked Itadori.
“It’s a fail-safe in case the Culling Game players don’t produce enough cursed energy,” said the Angel.
“But why would a thousand normal people come flooding into the colony?!” cried Itadori.
“It’s probably my fault. My fans are rabid,” said Takaba.
“This is no time for jokes,” said Megumi.
“Sorry!” said Takaba.
“I thought jokes were supposed to be funny and make people laugh,” remarked (Y/N).
“He’s not a good comedian,” said Megumi, steering (Y/N) away from misunderstanding.
The group ran through the common room of the apartment building, and the moment they were in the open, a handheld device was thrown at them. It landed by them, and Itadori kicked it up to the ceiling before it exploded around them.
A troop of soldiers stormed into the room around them, holding guns to their heads as the sorcerers were faced with regular humans as enemies.
Military? (Y/N)’s eyes narrowed. Kenjaku is sending them to die, and they have no idea.
The soldiers opened fire, and the group dodged behind columns. (Y/N) pressed against the stone beside Megumi.
“They’re not here to protect the civilians, are they?” said (Y/N) darkly.
Megumi raised his hands to summon his shadows and fight. “We’ll have to ask them directly.”
Lunar Cycle: Half Moons. Her war fans would take some bullets from human weapons.
l
“I hate that man,” said Ren, leaning back against a pillar after Kenjaku had left.
“We need his connections to fulfill our plan,” said Uraume, keeping their wife focused as they began to prepare a room fit for a king. “Let him do as he pleases while we wait for the time to come.”
“Tengen is no concern to me,” said Ren. “It is the mere fact due to our husband’s foolishness, we have to put up with such a man.” She narrowed her eyes.
“Do not forget his contract with Sukuna allowed him to return,” said Uraume.
“He wouldn’t have needed a contract if he never went into business with Kenjaku,” responded Ren.
Uraume hummed. She was right, of course. “But our plan will bring him back to us.”
“As long as he follows it,” said Ren, nodding.
“I cannot imagine he’d want to remain in contract with Kenjaku any longer than he has to,” said Uraume.
“No, neither can I,” said Ren. She narrowed her eyes. “However, a thousand years have passed. You and I lived it together. Sukuna was alone.” She tsked. “And beyond that, we have you-know-who to deal with.”
“Do you believe his plan could work?” asked Uraume. “The ramifications…This is an experiment at best.”
“If it goes right, then everything desired will return, and there may be something akin to peace when the dust settles,” said Ren.
“And if it goes wrong?”
“You know what happened last time. Humanity and divinity broke apart,” said Ren. “I can’t imagine what will break this time.”

I know I don’t post my personal thoughts on here very often, but I need to post something for my own therapy. Megan Rapinoe…
It’s extremely difficult for me to try and find the words to express how much Pinoe has meant to me over the past (almost) 13 years.
I used to play right midfield in soccer, but lost my love for the game nor did I enjoy watching any form of it.
One day, my dad randomly happened to be watching a 2011 WWC group stage match. He just stumbled across it flipping through channels and only knew who Wambach was.
He started listening to the broadcasters explain how a player had been benched from being a starter right before the WC started due to not performing to the coaches’ liking.
This player was then subbed onto the field and almost immediately scored, proving the coaches all wrong. She proceeded to run to the corner, pick up a furry microphone, and belt “born in the USA” for all to hear in celebration.
My dad yelled for me to come witness this player with “a shock of blonde hair.” As the highlights replayed, he explained the events that just occurred, knowing that he had just witnessed the start of something great.
After that, I was glued to the rest of the WC. Then, the quarterfinal match against Brazil happened… To this day, I have never seen a match quite like that: the highs and lows, the drama, the fairy tale ending… the cross that changed everything. Going forward, I was not only hooked to this team, but I felt a very special connection to Pinoe.
I started watching every video I could find that was about Pinoe (I will never forget roomies for life [wild turkeys, chocolate croissants, Gumby, megan rapinoe I went to the casino…], hometown visits, the video with the shins music, I could go on and on).
I fell in love with the sport of soccer again. I worked on tricks in my house, watched every game I could, started this blog dedicated to soccer, etc.
But it was bigger than just the renewed interest in sport. Megan Rapinoe became the first person who I did not personally know who I genuinely cared about. Up until that point, I had never had a hero (outside of my parents of course) like others around me did. As a socially awkward, reserved, low self esteem teenager, this was important for me.
I didn’t know what it was about her at first. But I found myself wanting to be just like her. I changed my hairstyle, my fashion, my music interests, and tried to be a more confident person. I’ll be honest, I was obsessed with her. I even questioned my sexuality, thinking it might explain why I’m so fascinated with everything about her (eventually realized I’m actually asexual).
After the team won the Olympic gold medal in 2012, I wanted nothing more than to see the team play in person. The problem was, back then, they rarely ever came to the Midwest. So my family and I decided to take an 18 hour road trip to watch them play in Rochester, New York.
I will never forget that trip as long as I live. My family happened to be staying at the same hotel as the team (I swear it was purely a coincidence). I met a lot of players that weekend (Hope Solo, Alex Morgan, Carli Lloyd to name a few). I cried like a fan girl while speaking to Rachel Buehler in the lobby due to my excitement.
And of course, I met Pinoe. I was terrified to talk to her. Thankfully my dad was there. He had no problem calling her over to get a picture as she was leaving the restaurant part of the hotel for practice. She graciously took photos with my family, but I was at a loss for words.
Later, I ran into her in the lobby. She came over to where my brother and I were standing. She asked us where we were from and was impressed to hear how far we traveled to support the team. She went out of her way to have a conversation with us, was interested in what we had to say, and made us feel like we were talking to a friend. She shook our hands at the end of the conversation and said she’d look for us at the game.
After that conversation, I’d never felt such a high in my life. I felt like if I could have a normal conversation with my hero (without humiliating myself) that I could do just about anything.
I continued to watch the games and attend as many as I could depending on the drive. It was so fun to get to watch her play in person. The creativity, vision, and play making skills that woman has makes her one of the best players the team has ever seen.
And just when I thought it couldn’t be possible to be more amazing, Pinoe started to unselfishly use her platform to advocate for others. As someone who comes from a family with some unique needs, advocating for all groups is very important to me. Her work for lgbtq rights, women’s equality, and bringing awareness to racial injustice is helping to change the world.
As someone who works with kids as well as individuals with disabilities, I strive everyday to be kind, empathetic, patient, and understanding in order to help make the world a better place. I strive to advocate for others.
Megan Rapinoe is everything I want to be. She is so genuine, confident, and empathetic towards all people. She’s my hero, she’s my role model, she’s a good person.
I truly don’t think soccer will ever have another Megan Rapinoe. I’m so grateful I got to see her play in her last game in Chicago. I will miss seeing her on the field. I cannot thank her enough for everything she’s done for soccer, for human rights, and for me. And I cannot wait to see what her next chapter brings.

One-shot recommendation: Sayonara Eri
Sayonara Eri is a one-shot manga made by the japanese mangaka Tatsuki Fujimoto.
Yûta is the protagonist, a young man and social reject who is filming a movie about his mother, who is dying from a fatal illness.
You'd never expect the way the story develops itself, it's totally worth it to read. As a curiosity, this manga is drawn in a very particular way, as you can see what Yûta is filming from his camera, which can expand the opportunities in the design of the characters and show us how they develop in a more personal and humane way and get exactly what our protagonist is feeling like, at moments depressed, at moments excited, but you have to read it to find out.
What is good about this manga is how we can appreciate clearly how human relationships develop in different ways depending on each person even in somewhat similar contexts, that is what our other important character is there for to show us, Eri, a girl who Yûta meets and becomes friends with by circumstances and who becomes the main focus of Yûta’s movie. For how it’s written, certain point, you’ll have to question yourself about what you are watching.
I can't emphasize more how interesting is the format in which this manga is drawn, if you are really interested in manga in general, or even if you like to watch movies, you must read it, besides, the story won't disappoint you and I'm not the one to spoil it for you.

BIOGRAPHY
trigger warning: death, assault
Santiago was born in a small home in Camagüey, Cuba, to a Cuban father and Guatamalan mother, finishing the family of four. Family was an important value for the Delgado family, and as Santiago grew up in between a large family, living with his parents and grandparents, he knew that that was what he wanted himself. Be close to his family and loved ones and feeling the warmth and love radiate through you the moment you stepped through the front door.
He was at the young age of fourteen when Santiago realised that he was different however. He watched how his brother kissed girls in the school hallways, would decorate his bedroom with posters of swimwear models and talk girls with their father. Santiago on the other hand had none of those things. Instead he found himself having a crush on a boy in his class, finding nothing appealing about women in swim suits and didn't know what to say when his father asked him if he fancied a girl.
It didn't last long for him to realise how things were put together. This also mostly through his friendship with Marisa. She liked girls, he liked boys. Marisa had an uncle who fancied men and she had seen firsthand how he had been shunned by his family. The two promised not to tell anyone else about their little 'secret'. It would be two of them against the world. They were as thick as thieves during high school, went to college together and even moved into a small home together, where they could freely invite people into their home that they couldn't be with in the open. When Marisa started talking about how badly she wanted to be a mom, Viktor wasn't shaken by the question on if he would have one with her. He had always wanted a family after all. To feel that love buzz through his body the moment he stepped inside his body. He agreed, and luckily enough, Marisa got pregnant that same year.
Santiago was busy with his bachelor degree when Marisa went into labour, giving birth to their healthy baby girl. They spoke of how they would raise her with the right morals and with an open mind, that she could be whomever she wanted to be in life, naming her Valentina. It all happened so fast, and if he was to think back and talk about it, he wouldn't be able to tell where it went downhill. All he knew was that he had entered the hospital with Marisa, and left without her. Still getting over the fact he lost his best friend, he had a daughter to raise and a study to finish, the first few years went fast and slow at the same time. After graduating his master's degree and Santiago got himself the job he was aiming for, he felt like he was getting his life back on track. He was fully focused on raising Valentina and less so on his own personal life, which worked for him. It was years later with the slip of the tongue that Santiago confessed to his family about his sexuality, and Marisa's. Their answer had been less than satisfactory and very much replaced the loving sensation at the front door into a chilling one.
How was he going to raise Valentina into being who she wanted to be, and being proud of it if he didn't follow that example himself? So Santiago did what he never thought he would do, he sold his belongings and packed his bags to America where he managed to get his hands on a flat in Raleigh North Carolina. Santiago was miserable. He was away from the place he had considered his home, he wasn't able to work in his beloved profession and instead had to work three jobs in order to pay rent, food and make sure Valentina had what she needed. Those two years were humbling, grateful for the raggedy bed at the end of the day and yet trying to spend as much time with his daughter as he could. It became easier once they got their green cards, American passports and he was able to do the exams that got him to practice again. It was in America where he was also able to explore his love life, and found a counterpart in Matthew. It was his first public relationship and Santiago felt he had a lot of ground to cover, things to explore, moments to share. Seeing that he was doting towards Valentina only made it seem perfect. That was, until Matthew announced he couldn't do it anymore and left. Heartbroken as he was, Santiago dived into dating. He'd gone too fast and been too naive that he hadn't realised he'd gotten catfished. He made it through the ordeal with a few injuries, one that kept him away from the dating scene and instead focused on his work and on advocating for gay and immigrant rights. He protested, he marched, he screamed and made God knew how many petitions.
Eventually, with Valentina leaving North Carolina for sunny California, Santiago searched for farther horizons all around the country and landed on a job position in a quaint little town called Kismet Harbor, Oregon. He grabbed the opportunity with both hands and moved away. Should Valentina need him, he would be one flight away.
It had never been the plan to stay in Kismet Harbor permanently. He was going to try out the job, gather experience and perhaps look for a new job again, explore more of the country he now called his second home. Second, because he had found his first home inside a pair of gorgeous blue eyes. It had been on a whim that he had accepted a party invitation and met him: Viktor Pierce. Though always having been weary for dating ever since the assault, it just felt right and Santiago embarked on a relationship with a man he a few years later would call his husband. Now, he is the father of two beautiful girls, finds joy in his work and, most importantly, feels warmth and love coarse through his body as soon as he walks inside his home.

Adventures in Rody-Sitting: Chapter 4
Aizawa sat, rubbing his neck.
Clearly this strange teenager needed his help, but he didn’t know how to help him if he couldn’t explain what help he needed.
Rody was too busy pacing a rut into the floor.
Pino tweeted nervously, patting his head.
Tokoyami grabbed his shoulder, turning him to look in his eyes.
“I know you’re scared. We’ll find your friends. I promise. Just let us help you.”
Rody took a deep breath in and sat down. “Okay...so hero society is gone. My friend is somewhere across town. And his friend is also somewhere. And I’m stuck here with no useful Quirk,” he patted Pino’s head, who tweeted indignantly, “and all my skills include running and stealing.”
“Do you have a way of contacting either of your friends?”
Rody’s eyes widened and he pulled out the phone he remembered he had in his pocket. Unfortunately, the screen had been popped off and the rest of his phone had been broken in half.
“I did.”
He groaned, dropping it.
“Aizawa, Iida and I will go look in the Light District for his friend and bring him back if we find him.”
Aizawa simply gave a grunt of acknowledgment, drinking some water. Tokoyami nodded at Rody. “Stay here. Uraraka will keep an eye on you.”
Tokoyami walked out, leaving Rody sitting in awkward silence with Aizawa.
Uraraka grabbed him by the arm. “Why don’t we give you a tour of the base and get you comfortable?”
He led him away, trying to assure him of his safety.
Rody took it all in, petting Pino’s head to comfort himself.
“You know, you keep mentioning your Quirk...what does she do?”
“Well, she’s part of a soul Quirk. I can’t lie. If I do, she just expresses what I really feel anyway...I was pretty embarrassed about it at first, but then Deku changed my mind about it...never being able to lie...it’s a gift. I didn’t really get what he meant, but I think I do now. Thanks to her, I always know what I’m feeling…And I’m never confused.”
Uraraka smiled. “That’s a beautiful way to look at it.”
“So...what’s with...you?” Rody looked at him. Uraraka was noticeably older, but didn’t gain much height. Rody still had to look nearly completely down to make eye contact.
“What’s with me?” Uraraka looked taken aback by the phrasing of the question. Not offended. More confused than anything.
“Yeah...I mean...you’re a guy now. When did that happen? It hasn’t happened yet in my timeline. Universe. Whatever this is. At least I don’t think it’s happened. Deku hasn’t mentioned you being trans.”
Uraraka looked up in thought. “Oh, is that all? Well, I guess I must not have come out in your timeline yet. I was only a little bit older than you. Why? Do you have any questions about it?”
“I just...I didn’t think...you were. What’s it like?”
Uraraka looked between Rody and Pino and something seemed to click in his head. “Oh!”
“Huh?”
“Well, it’s like...when you live your whole life feeling like...you’re happy, but you’re not satisfied. And then you start thinking about what one thing you would change to be able to be satisfied...and then it hits you and everything makes sense...What about you?”
“Me?”
“Yeah. What was it like for you?”
“For me? Well...I don’t think liking boys is the same as being trans. So I don’t think my experience would be the same.”
“What? Oh. I’m sorry! I thought that you were trans.”
Uraraka’s face turned red as he hid it behind his hands, floating up slightly.
Rody waved his hands nervously. “Wha...don’t get embarrassed about it! It’s fine! I’m not upset! But what made you think I was!?”
“Well...you said your Quirk doesn’t let you lie, right?”
“Yeah.”
“And she’s a girl…”
Rody stared quietly and picked Pino up, shaking her slightly. “Why didn’t you say anything!?”
Pino tweeted, flapping her wings.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to make you so upset!” Uraraka cried. “I just thought that’s why you were asking!”
Rody scratched her chin, nervously looking away. “Well...maybe. But I just...I was trying to make conversation. I think.”
“...So are you?”
Rody shrugged. “Well I guess I am. No use worrying about it now. I’ve got other things to worry about.”
“Right...that sounds like something you should talk with your friends about.”
They continued walking around UA until Uraraka led Rody to a room where other teenagers sat, talking among themselves. There weren’t a lot of them around, but from the look of their clothes and how exhausted they looked, they appeared to be training to be heroes. Despite it being too dangerous to do so.
Rody admired them for their tenacity.
“Todoroki, are you here? I need your help with Rody.”
Todoroki was leaning against a wall, watching over the bunch. He was side-eying Rody from across the room as they approached. Or, at least it looked like he was.
Uraraka led Rody over to Todoroki, introducing her. “This is Rody. She’ll be staying in the safehouse until we can find her friends and get them home. This is Todoroki. He keeps an eye on teenagers who’ve been displaced.”
“So he’s a babysitter?”
Todoroki’s scowl deepened. “I earned the role of Number One Pro after All Might died and then my father. I’m not just a babysitter. I train them to fight, so when we die, they’ll be able to fend for themselves.”
“Your father? That’s Endeavor, right?”
Todoroki nodded with a grunt. “You don’t sound too familiar with him.”
“Well, I really only met him once and I’m not super into Pro Heroes…” Rody shrugged. “Who killed him?”
“...The mother of Izuku Midoriya.”
A laugh escaped Rody’s mouth, who quickly covered it. It wasn’t a laugh of humor.
She put her hands up defensively. “That came out wrong. I just didn’t expect you to say that. I mean...Mrs. Midoriya? She’s such a sweet woman. She’d never hurt anyone.”
“You think I don’t know what I saw?”
“I mean...I don’t know what you saw so...no.”
Pino let out an embarrassed tweet, hiding her face behind her wings.
“So you’ve met her before, then?” Todoroki asked, deciding to sit at a table to have this conversation.
Rody sat with him, shrugging. “Once. She was probably the nicest woman I ever met. I just can’t imagine her killing anyone.”
“She did it...looking back I don’t blame her. She was just trying to protect her son from my father. Even so...I can’t help being mad.”
“What do you mean? Protecting him from Endeavor? What happened?”
For the students of Class 1-A, it began at the USJ attack, for the rest of Japan, it began at the UA Sports Festival.
The stands were full. Even more so than previous years. Civilians lined up to get seating, some even paid extra just to be able to see what All Might had taught at least one of these students. He’d given his life to protect them all, so whatever they could do must have been worth the greatest sacrifice of all.
Of course, there were those who came just to see if All Might was really dead or if it was a PR stunt by the school to get more ticket sales.
Either way, the staff of UA was relieved to see that so many people were still on their side. It was hard to keep face after losing a quarter of their best students. Children they were meant to train and protect.
The Festival started and there was an uproar of cheers. Everyone rooting for the children in the relay race. They were easily able to show off their skills and Quirks.
If All Might had seen them, there was no doubt he’d be proud of every single one of them.
Spirits were high and Aizawa and Present Mic were making announcements, despite the former being bandaged and cast up from head to toe from the USJ attack.
Midnight was in the middle of announcing the next round of the Festival, a purple portal opened and a young boy stepped out with two others standing beside him. On one side stood a young, slender man with ashy black hair, wearing a dark coat with purple patches all over his face. On the other was a slightly older man with his face covered by a torn scarf worn as a mask, slouching and scowling at the people in the crowd.
“My name is Izuku Midoriya. You all say I’m the one who killed All Might. But I didn’t. You did. He gave everything he had for Japan. For all of you. And what do you do? Instead of taking a long, hard look at yourselves, you blame my mother, turned your back on her. She never did anything wrong. And she was treated like a criminal because of a choice I made. She had no impact on my life this last year. I’ve been brainwashed, tortured, manipulated, and turned into something I’m not. So, of course, you turn against her. Because we share a name. Without considering that she had nothing to do with any of this. That, as far as she was concerned, her son died a year ago!” He paused to take a breath and took his mask off. Messy white hair covered most of his face. From what could be seen of it, he looked tired and worn down. “But I’m not here for that. I’m not going to exact revenge. Just apologize and I won’t have to bring down hero society today.”
There was an eerie silence among the arena. Midnight was the first to step up. “Call me cynical, but I don’t think you’re actually here for an apology. You just want to stir things up so you feel justified in trying to retaliate.”
Midoriya looked at her and held up his hands in surrender. “I don’t have any weapons on me. They don’t have any weapons on them. I don’t want to have any more lives lost.”
“He must have something planned...he came here with just three men and no weapons in an arena full of the best Pro Heroes and students.” Iida whispered.
“He came through that warp gate. I bet if he says the word, a lot more villains are going to come.” Todoroki said.
Midoriya didn’t make a move toward any of the Pros or students. But he kept his attention on Bakugo.
He maintained eye contact, even while the crowd started getting their words back and heckled him.
“Why the hell do we owe this kid an apology!?”
“Who does he think he is!?”
“There’s no way this kid could have killed All Might! What game is he playing!?”
Midoriya sighed in resignation and put his mask back on. “Alright. Then you all have thirty seconds to clear out before I let my friends take over. There’s no reason for innocent lives to be hurt here. No one wants any more children dead or injured. Well, maybe Endeavor does.”
He looked up at Endeavor, who was standing in the crowd.
Endeavor growled and shot a blast of fire at him.
The crowd gasped and started running out.
The man beside Midoriya started cackling, putting a mask on as well, negating the fire with a blast of blue fire of his own. “You just gave me permission to burn this place to the ground, old man!”
“Himiko, now!” Midoriya commanded, speaking into an earpiece.
“I thought you’d never ask!”
Eraserhead looked over at his co-host, who melted into a young girl with glowing yellow eyes.
“Mic! How didn’t I notice?”
She giggled, brandishing a knife. “Izuku’s really good at helping people pretend to be heroes.”
He tried to move to attack, but someone grappled him from behind. Todoroki would later learn that the other villain in disguise up there was called Twice.
More Warp Gates opened up and more villains came flooding through. Midnight cracked her whip at the ones approaching her, but the masks they were wearing turned out to be gas masks. Filtering out the somniatic qualities of it, turning it into a harmless mist.
Midoriya started advancing on Bakugo, brandishing a sword that had been dropped beside him upon the arrival of the new villains.
Todoroki stepped forward, shooting up a wall of ice to separate them.
They both stepped back, surprised. Midoriya turned, looking at him.
“Leave my friend alone. Haven’t you killed enough of them already?”
Midoriya laughed a little. “Friend? Is that true, Kacchan? You’re making friends now? Real friends? Does he know how you treat your friends?” Midoriya swung his sword through the wall of ice, chopping it down in a few hefty swings. “Does he know what you said to me? Why I look like this?”
He stepped over the stump of ice that remained, kneeling down to look Bakugo, who had fallen to his hands and knees, quivering and fighting back tears, in the eyes. Once again, Midoriya took off his mask. This time to give Bakugo a close look at his face.
Scars from where his face had been stitched and sewn back together met in angled, concurrent lines. Where the middle was just at the bridge of his nose. Which had been drastically reconstructed beyond recognition. Midoriya had become beyond recognition. If it wasn’t for his eyes, Bakugo wouldn’t have been able to tell it was him.
He quickly put the mask back on and stood up. “I’m not here to kill anyone. No even you, Kacchan. I’m here to recruit. Feel free to join me.”
Todoroki stomped his foot down, sending a wall of ice between the two.
Bakugo grunted, falling back. Midoriya stepped backwards, scoffing. “Ice. I guess you’re too scared to use your fire after the USJ attack, huh? Sure would be a shame if another fire broke out and killed more heroes, wouldn’t it?”
Todoroki didn’t respond. Bakugo stood, scowling. “I’m sorry...I was a terrible friend. I wake up and go to sleep thinking about it...If I could back and take it all back I would. I’ve been doing nothing but trying to make up for it. By training to become the type of hero you wanted to be.”
Midoriya dropped his guard, seeming to take in these words. “Interesting. Do you regret that you said it because telling someone to kill themselves is an awful thing to say to someone? Or do you regret it because I actually did it and you’re being held accountable for your actions?”
Bakugo started to shake again, tears forming in his eyes. “I regret everything! You were the only friend I had who liked me for me! Everyone else just wanted to be my friend because I have a powerful Quirk! You just wanted a friend and I was so horrible to you! I don’t know why you hung around me for so long when all I ever did was make you feel like shit! I don’t deserve to be here! I deserve nothing! I’m sorry!” His eyes were shut tight, but it didn’t stop the flow of tears down running down his face.
Midoriya seemed taken aback by this, at a loss for words. He dropped his sword, stumbling backwards as Bakugo ran in, tackling him into a hug. Bakugo went from trying to fight back his tears to choking on his sobs.
“K...Kacchan…”
“I missed you so much...don’t ever leave my side again.”
Midoriya laughed.
Not a mean laugh.
It sounded affectionate. “You’re such a crybaby…”
He hugged Bakugo back, nestling his head on the crook of Bakugo’s neck.
“I missed you, too...So that’s why you can’t stay here any longer.”
“Wha…”
A purple Warp Gate opened up behind him and Midoriya shoved Bakugo through.
“Bakugo!” Todoroki gasped.
“You’re more than welcome to join us.”
“I’d never join you!”
“Then I’ll leave the villains to deal with you-”
They were separated by a plume of fire as Endeavor ran up. “Shoto, get away from him!”
“I can handle him!”
“I don’t think you can, Shoto. You just let one of your friends get taken.” Midoriya mocked, sheathing his sword and putting on a pair of gauntlets. They appeared to be reinforced around the knuckle area.
Without letting Todoroki get another word in, Endeavor grabbed him by the back of his shirt and tossed him backwards, launching himself at Midoriya.
Midoriya didn’t have time to react. He was knocked in the face and skidded and skipped across the concrete similar to that of a rock that had just been skipped across a body of water. He laid on the ground a few seconds, gathering his senses.
Endeavor approached him, holding him up by his shirt. “You use the facade of some Quirkless teenager to make your enemies underestimate you. I’m not like them. I won’t go easy on you because I think you’re some misguided teenager.”
Midoriya laughed a little. “I know you, Endeavor. You never go easy on children. Touya tells me about your parenting skills all the time.”
His guard dropped, his grip loosening on Midoriya.
That gave him the opportunity to give Endeavor a right hook, knocking the spit out of his mouth.
He dropped Midoriya, holding his jaw as he stumbled back.
Midoriya ran, taking a springing jump off the wall, kicking Endeavor in the side with the spiked metal tips of his boots. He heard a couple of ribs crack.
Endeavor stumbled again, holding his side.
He ignited his fists, firing multiple blasts at him.
Despite the rapidity of them, Midoriya was easily able to dodge them.
He’d clearly done his research on Endeavor’s fight moves and patterns. Of course, Midoriya wasn’t nearly as strong as he was, but that was the issue. Endeavor was all strength. There was no speed or precision to back it up. Not on this day. When his anger was going to get the better of him and he couldn’t concentrate because he was too focused on trying not to hurt a Quirkless kid despite his words that he wouldn’t go easy on him. Because at the end of the day, villain or not, the public would never have a Pro hurt a Quirkless child.
Midoriya prepared for a Jetburn as Endeavor ignited his hand. But he shot the fire at the ground, separating them with a circle of fire around Midoriya.
“What?” Midoriya darted his eyes around, trying to find Endeavor.
Endeavor reached through the circle of flames and wrapped his hand around Midoriya’s head, pulling him through the flames and tossing him into a wall.
“Shoto told me all about your skills. You have notes on every Pro, right? So you’d have to have studied to know how to handle them. So all I need to do is fight different than what you’ve seen!”
Midoriya coughed, blood spilling inside his mask. Part of the lens cracked, exposing his eye to the palm of fire Endeavor was sending his way, grabbing the front of his mask and torching the plastic, melting some to his cheek.
Todoroki felt almost disgusted by this course of action from his father.
Almost.
Midoriya threw the mask off, holding his face in pain.
Endeavor advanced on him. “I warned you I wasn’t going to go easy on you. Your innocent act might have been enough to fool All Might, but that’s what got him killed in the first place. And I won’t be stupid enough to let some kid kill me like he was.”
“I didn’t kill All Might!” He shrieked, his voice cracking as he jumped on Endeavor, punching him in the jaw again.
But this time he didn’t give him a chance to recover.
He wrapped his legs around his waist, gripping tight as he sent one punch after another into Endeavor’s face.
He jumped off him, grabbing his sword and swinging it wildly. Endeavor tried to grab it, but the moment he knew where the blade was, it was already moving onto another part of his body.
In just seconds, he was covered in deep lacerations, but none fatal. Only painful enough to incapacitate him, leaning against a wall, blood beginning to pool at his feet.
Midoriya looked over at Todoroki, seeming to dare him to step in.
He hated to admit it, but seeing his father like this made him feel almost cathartic.
Almost.
But he was a hero and needed to stop this villain. And he was going to.
Even if Endeavor was going to insist on taking him on by himself.
Midoriya slammed the flat end of the sword into Endeavor’s face, knocking him sideways.
He caught himself on his hands and knees, coughing and spitting up blood.
Todoroki threw his arms out, pinning Midoriya to the wall, impaling his shoulders with ice and aiming a shard at his throat.
“Endeavor, are you alright?”
He couldn’t answer, but the fact that he was still breathing and conscious was relatively a good sign.
Todoroki approached him, quietly cauterizing the wounds with his fire.

so much for thinking.
helena... you really are the last of the bertinellis.
but salvatore, his son, was cut from different cloth.
from day one, he stepped in for pino and became my big brother. he'd comfort me when i had nightmares, go to church with me even though he didn't believe in god. i followed him everywhere. we would train every day.
his father didn't think girls should know how to fight, but it was the one thing that nicola allowed sal.
in exchange, sal did everything his father told him to do.
uncle tommy is like the angel of death. always coming around to collect me when i have nothing else left.
you can't fight change...
don't look back, kid.
genesis 19:26.
lot told his wife god said not to look back as they fled their dying city. she did anyway. and was struck back. it could be a lesson about letting go of the past. or it could be propaganda... conditioning women to obey, without question, the men dragging them around.
hey, you don't mind when your beloved priests say god is "he" and "him" and all that.
i do mind, i just... where else am i supposed to go to church?
sal looked like he'd rather that boar had gotten him. i didn't save his life for this.
i'm not leaving without you.
you're not leaving at all.
huntress, you're my hero.
+ genesis 19:26.
But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
