ngl having lived in the deep Appalachian south, and being born/raised in nyc, I've realized a lot of what people consider 'hick' and 'ghetto' are similar, the context is just different in city vs country

#making something (esp food) out of nothing from the random cornerstores/gas stations? both considered hick and ghetto #dyi tools/appliances? hick and ghetto #and repurposed furniture i.e milkcrates as shelves #ply wood as storage #Homebrew intoxicants? all fall into the middle of the circle chart #traveling hours upon hours for work? hard core manual labor ?#the ghetto new yorker has far more in common with the hick southerner then they think #its a class issue always was and always shall be #same shit with redneck/s but for now im grouping them in with hicks for convenience but they are included #to be clear
