Thinking about how much the fool was willing to sacrifice so fitz can be happy and whole. He gave fitz his memories from the girl-on-a-dragon back even though he knew it would make fitz want to be with molly again because he wanted him to be whole and he left because he wanted fitz to be hapy with molly and thought he couldnt be there for it. The thing is by leaving he has also caused so much pain for fitz and left him feelling like a part of his soul is missing (because it is!!!) and all because he thought that by being with fitz he was taking something that did not belong to him and wanted to spare fitz the choice between molly and him. And maybe fitz could have still had molly and maybe it was time for fitz to finally let her go, but either way i doubt fitz would have had to choose between them - He converted back to burrich's extremely emotionally repressent philosophy of "a horse cannot wear two saddles" (way to go repeating the mistake of your ancestors, fitz, by not getting into a polycule) BECAUSE he needs to beleive there can only be one of them because of how much the fool leaving hurt - and i think they would have found the right solution HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR PRILKOP. I HATE HIM SO FUCKING MUCH. BOOOO!!!!!!!
