Christmas Event: Secret Santas
Tumblr media
Hey everyone! Before yall start screaming at me saying "IT'S NOVEMBER", many people might be thankful for the fact that I'm posting this now.
I decided to host my very own and special secret santa!
-SO WHAT IS THIS EVENT ABOUT? You know what a secret santa is? yes? well I’ll explain it anyway.  Secret Santa is a thing where the participants are randomly assigned a person (who is also between the participants) to whom they have to give a gift anonymously. I have also seen that sometimes people make wishlists for their gifts, and their secret santa gets to choose one of those for the gift.
Well... THIS SECRET SANTA IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT! You join and collaborate with other 2 people, making that 1 group. Each group will get 3 different wishlists, you will have to pick one option from each wishlist, and then make 3 collabs.
-AND HOW DOES THIS COLLAB WORK?  The three collabs have to be done like this:
Tumblr media
(You are free to make your own template to post the drawings. REMEMBER TO NOT DO THE DRAWINGS IN THE TEMPLATE. Make them in a new canvas so it can have a higher quality. Just copy them and crop it so it fits the squares). (Also when you post the collabs, I recommend to post the template, and then a higher quality of the parts where you took part. For example, the order for artist 3 on their post would be 1.[All the steps] 2.[Final work of the first collab] 3.[Sketch of the second collab] 4.[Lineart of the third collab] )
-ARE YOU INTERESTED IN JOINING? Well the post is getting long, so follow me under the cut if you wish to join and know the rules! :D
**You can join this event until November 30th, 10 pm!!!**
-----------------------------------------------
**BEFORE JOINING IN, PLEASE CAREFULLY READ EVERYTHING IN THE RULES, I BEG YOU ;v;**
-WHAT RULES ARE THERE FOR THE WISHLIST?
There are a few things to keep in mind...
You can ask for ANYTHING. Your OC; a character; a scene from a fanfic, comic or series; a screencap; a ship; enemies... WHATEVER YOU WANT! There are no limits, but keep in mind ALL of the rules, even the ones after this one. You can also specify something in your options, like "This character, but being all evil" "My precious boy with a flower crown" and stuff.
You can make your list from just 1 thing to 6. Only want one out of 3 things? Cool! Can't decide between just 6? Well sorry but you have to.
Please make it no more than 2 characters in each option, and even so, don't make most of the options more than 1 character. For example: 1- [Name of an OTP] 2- The protagonist of a game 3- This AU version of this character (This list would be fine because just 1/3 options has 2 characters. It’s not 1/2 or 2/3.)
This one isn't exactly necessary, but please consider adding variation between the options. Instead of "OC 1- OC 2- OC 3", try something like "OC - Game character- Comic character". Some people might not feel like choosing a character between the same category (being OCs, characters from the same game or story, etc), so if you are willing to do so, try doing this. Maybe the person who gets to make a drawing for you will feel more inspired because they have variety!
-The DOs, DON’Ts and how it will all work.
Process:
-After the deadline has been reached, I’ll be giving each group their assigned wishlists between December 1st and 2nd. Then, you can start posting your gifts from December 24th to December 30th. -Also, I will check that the wishlist and everything is fine, so you will not have any problem with that. If there was a problem with one of the options of your wishlist, and even when I told you to change it you didn’t, I’ll just erase that option and give it like that. -The people will be randomly given once the deadline is met, and after that it's up to you to work with the others. If there's any communication problem, do let me know.
Don’t:
-Don't try to give a hint of who you're doing the gift for. -Please avoid livestreaming if possible (even if the person doesn't see it, anyone else will know that you're making their gift). -Please, PLEASE don't jump off the event once the joining deadline has been reached. It will be very difficult to rearrange everything again. Take this event seriously, while also being something fun to work on. -Don’t try to join with someone if they didn’t want to work with you, and don’t say “we talked about it and we are in the same group, here’s a screenshot”. If they DID agree, they have to send me a PM on their own, saying that they are joining with you. -I know this sounds mean, but if you don’t know how to work with layers and transparent .PNG pictures, or you can only do traditional art, I can’t really allow you to join.
Do:
-Send me your join request, and include the people with who you will join. These people will also have to send their own join requests in order to approve your group. -You can ask me for help/inspiration if no one from your group has any idea. -This event is honestly fun, so I can consider joining your group if you’re only two people, you want me to join and I’m interested in working with you two ;D -If your group thinks that they need MORE time than what I have stablished here, please contact me so I can give you 3 wishlists early ^^
**HOW TO JOIN**
Fill this and send it to me (via PM)
Name: (Ex. Byu)
My wishlist: (Ex. Pikachu / My OC (<<name and reference) / Sonic / Mario / Peridot / a redraw of [this] scene (include link pls). )
I will be joining in with [blank] and [blank] (you can join with just one person if you wish, as long as it’s because you want someone else to randomly join your team.) (Yes, you can join alone... BUT DON’T EXPECT ANYTHING!! If you join alone, you’re only joining “just in case someone needs a 3rd person)
**I also have a discord server in case you need to clarify anything or want to talk to the other participants (if they ever join the server LMAO) https://discord.gg/XUPg2bZ
With that being said, I would love to see people joining in the fun! Please do encourage everyone to join :3 I hope you all can enjoy this little event~ Love yall!! <3

30 Free Instagram Stories Highlight Icons for Your Business
With more than 200 million users visiting at least one Business Profile daily, Instagram is more than just a social network—it’s your brand’s digital storefront.
However, just like a messy store doesn’t give the best first impression to your customers, a disorganized Instagram profile can do more harm than good.
In this post, we’ll explore how you can use covers for your Instagram Highlights to showcase the best of your brand. As a thank you to our dedicated readers, we’ll also give you a designer pack of icons that will boost the look of your profile right away.
If only all renovations were this easy.
What are covers for Instagram Stories Highlights?
Instagram introduced Stories Highlights in December 2017 to let users like you “hold on to your favorite moments from Instagram Stories and share them in ways that help you express yourself.”
Since then, brands have found many creative ways to share the best of their stories. One effective way has been with the use of “covers.”
You’ve probably noticed these visually-appealing icons popping up on the profiles of your favorite Instagram users—and for good reason.
Brands and influencers like Alexandra Grant of To Vogue or Bust, Monika Hibbs, and home and garden site Jungalow use covers for their Instagram Stories Highlights to showcase their brand and bring added value to their audience.
As you can see, using covers with appropriate icons make these profiles easier to navigate—and their content easier to find and engage with.
Why brands should use Instagram Stories Highlights
Boost the longevity of your content
Instagram Stories Highlights lets your brand showcase your best Stories and post them permanently on your Instagram profile.
As explained in our post 14 exciting new things to try on social media in 2018, “This feature is super valuable for brands because, unlike self-destructing Story content, Stories Highlights can be saved, reposted, and measured for long-term performance.”
This means that content such as a question and answer session you do with your followers can live permanently on your profile as an FAQ, so you aren’t wasting time constantly explaining the same things over and over again.
Drive more traffic to your website
Since you can share unlimited links in your Stories with the “swipe up” feature, Highlights enables you to drive more traffic to your website.
This let’s you direct your audience to external pages. Giving one use-case example, AdWeek explains, “Marketers can link to lead-generation forms from their respective email marketing software and boom, your email list is going off the roof.”
Whether you’re trying to increase sales by linking to a product page or growing your email list, Highlights allow you to host these valuable links for as long as your business needs.
Establish a solid brand
By adding covers to your Instagram Stories Highlights, you show your audience that your business is dedicated to making their experience as elevated as possible.
Clear and compelling covers and icons are a great way to give visitors to your profile a quick look at what they can expect from your brand. How do you want potential customers to see your brand—disorganized and cluttered, or sleek and thoughtful?
While other businesses might have Instagram Stories Highlights, if they don’t have clear categories with associated icons they’re not making it easy for the audience to navigate their content.
Having aesthetically-pleasing and relevant icons and covers will help set your brand apart from your competition—and positively impact your audience’s experience with your business.
How to create your own covers for Instagram Stories Highlights
Instagram Stories Highlights covers can easily be customized to reflect your brand and business needs with Canva, a desktop and mobile graphic design tool.
To make this even easier for you, Hootsuite’s talented designers created a free download of 30 professional icons and covers:
