Oppenheimer (2023) is NOT a celebration of the life of j. robert oppenheimer

In the most generous interpretation, he's a bug under the audience's microscope

At worst, the film condemns oppenheimer as a person because of his actions, ego, and naiveté (AND makes it a point SEVERAL TIMES that we should not consider him a martyr!)

#oppenheimer #oppenheimer 2023 #oppenheimer movie #a film can analyse simething without celebrating it!!!#and the film doesn't shy away from calling out oppenheimer on his naiveté and lack of integrity!#someone made a post on here that stated that you SHOULD NOT need the movie to hold your hand #in regards to the moral implications of the atomic bomb!#or its creation!#i couldn't agree more!#the film assumes (rightly or wrongly) that you have SOME media literacy skills #and have been educated / consumed media on the devastation of Fukushima and Hiroshima!#ugh it just frustrates me is all #i REFUSE to accept the death of nuance in hollywood
