I wish I could get behind terrifier as just being schlocky horror and even though it’s not necessarily My Thing I wanna be able to appreciate what it’s going for but I cannot shake the feeling that the director/writers have. um. problems with women

#warning these tags get real graphic #across the board the most violent shit that happens in those movies is exclusively against women #the few male victims don’t rly get long drawn out torture scenes the closest is like. that one pizza shop dude and even then #he wasn’t fully naked to get entirely sawed in half on screen #there’s no 15 minute scene of the clown fully torturing a man beyond recognition #the clown’s actor (who is phenomenal in the role let’s be honest) suggested for a death scene in the movie #that he cut the dude’s dick off and blow it up like a balloon animal thing #which yeah is gross. but the director thought it might be too much #and you’d be like ‘well maybe violence against people’s genitals feels like a step too far for most people’#but like. hey in the first movie there was a woman who was stripped naked and hung upside down and sawed in half starting at her coochie #AND THEY SHOWED ALL OF IT #a lady literally disembowels herself and then gives birth to the clown’s severed head like I don’t think I’m making this up tbh #if ur wondering that guy’s dick still gets stabbed but that’s. kind of it
