Big cats is an actual definition, and cheetahs do not fit is because they can purr chirp and meow, and cannot roar, so they are actually just really big normal cats technically.

Cheetas are sweet and docile as shit.

They are also incredibly nervous animals, which is infact on of the reasons for populations decline. Some of them are two nervous to mate

So many zoos had to work out how to calm the cheetahs enough to get laid. And make sure they didn't spaz themselves into endangering the cubs.

So many zoos give them their very own service dogs. Cheetahs look to eachother to see how nervous they should be. So if they don't know, they all build off eachothers anxiety.

But with the dog, they look to it, and the dogs just like, everythings fine, this is fine. And they all go. 'Okay spotless cheetah is calm, everything is chill'

Also many cheetah have learnt to recogniss that wildlife photographers are friends not foes, and will come up and say hi. Sometimes even leaving their cubs with the photographer while they go hunt.
