My biggest takeaway from ff16 is that this writer should never be allowed to touch a woman ever again.

Important female characters are all either over the top ridiculously stupid evil, or basically a sad sexy lamp - and both are ultimately just a means to including rape in the story. Because you know. This is dangerous medieval magic Europe, where every girl got raped all the time!

The M rating on this game is actively hurting it.

#don't get me started on the rest of this writing #it's lazy writing #at best #gratuitous time skips instead of dealing with the interesting consequences of our actions #the fact Jill could be a lamp and change nothing #the fact i am pretty sure if it was just clive and torgal the story would be the same just without sadgirl heterobait #like the drake's breath stuff? i thought we'd play as jill they made such a big deal #but no it's another clive battle while fully transformed shiva... makes an ice wall and that's it #criminally under used as a character #she's like cheap knockoff ysayle - with any quality aside from sadgirl chopped off #the outfit is a knockoff and so is all her design #ysayle but shit #frankly at this point i think 15 did a better job - since there was only ONE girl to do wrong #but seriously this game's writing is... bad #ff16 spoilers #i don't know if anyone following me is playing but tag in case
