Let’s go out. (Klaus Hargreeves x Reader)

It was supposed to be a quiet night in, spending some much needed alone time together. Work had been hectic, and although you loved it, you unfortunately had to work late for the majority of nights this week, much to Klaus’ dismay.

Shrugging off your coat and kicking off your shoes, throwing your keys onto the table next to the door, you let out a sigh as you welcomed the familiar view of you apartment. The two of you had only been living together for a brief time, but despite only having this place for two months, you both have made it feel like a home. The first week had mainly consisted of running around various second-hand shops looking for mismatched furniture to buy. Being kicked out of IKEA for playing hide and seek or jumping across the sofas, he insisted that this was a vital test for such a large investment. Despite all this he definitely had an eye for design, you trusted him with the interior decor. You swear you even caught him making a Pinterest board once.

You slowly make your way into the apartment, hearing the faint sound of music coming from the kitchen. Cracking open the door slightly, you can’t help but smile at what you see. He is sloppily dressed, a pair of skinny jeans with no shoes, hair slightly scruffy, yesterdays eyeliner still slightly smeared across his lids, and your colourful robe loosely draped over his shoulders, hardly doing anything to hide the fact he has no shirt on. He glides around the kitchen with drink in one hand and a large spoon in the other, eyes shut as he dances to the music. Even when he is dancing alone, he always manages to seem elegant. Swaying and spinning around the kitchen, your robe flowing behind him as he continues working on dinner.

It’s at this point you decide to make yourself known, pushing the door open a little further and entering the room.

“Y/N! Didn’t hear you come in!” He said, putting his drink and utensils down to engulf you in a hug.

“I didn’t want to disturb your cooking, I missed you,” you replied, leaning up to press a soft kiss onto his lips.

“Please, if anything distract me more, you’ve been working late all week. I’m starting to feel like a housewife waiting for her husband to return,” he said sarcastically.

“You’re the best trophy wife I could ever ask for,” you joked.

He chuckled and pulled you closer to him, encouraging you to join with his dancing. Taking both your arms and swaying you back and forth, laughing and holding his arm above you for you to spin under. You try to do the same for him, but his tall stature has him bending slightly backwards to make it under the arch your arm has created. You two slowed down as the music faded, unlinking from each other and going to grab some food. Klaus was by no means a professional chef, but he was competent enough to make a good pasta. You both head out to the balcony to watch the sunset as you eat.

“Let’s go out” He said, finishing his dinner and taking a drag from his cigarette, gazing at you hopefully.

“I don’t know Klaus, it’s getting late” You replied.

“Come on Y/N, you’ve been slaving away all week and I have been the perfect little domestic goddess and cooked you a delicious meal. The weekend has just begun and we have nowhere to be tomorrow!” He argued, you were about to say no, but you saw the excitement in his eyes. He loved nothing more than seeing where the night took you both, getting lost on stupid adventures was a well rehearsed hobby of his.

“Fine! But only because you asked so nicely.” You said.

And just like that he was beaming, he smiled a genuine smile, putting out his cig and yanking you towards your bedroom. He gently pushed you into the chair next to the dressing table, pulling out boxes full of makeup and accessories. You could tell he was itching to get his hands on you, probably coming up with some baroque-esque look for the two of you. You were always slightly envious of his clothing and makeup collection.

“I’m thinking…” He begins, putting his thumb and index fingers in the shape of a rectangle, as if he is trying to see what vision he has for you, “I’m thinking vintage with an edge, but make it fashion?” He asks, cocking his head to the side, asking subtly for your approval.

“Surprise me,” You say with a smile, “I am your canvas.”

He gleams once more and turns to your shared wardrobe. You both had such a habit of borrowing each others clothes, you thought it would be more practical to just share one. Klaus has never been one to shy away from stereotypically ‘feminine’ clothing, you often found him wearing your stuff. He grabs handfuls of different fabrics, holding them up seemingly inspecting them.

He gently took your chin in large hand, smiling and telling you to shut your eyes as he came closer with some black eyeliner. Peeking through your lashes you could see the concentration on his face. The way his eyes furrow gently, teeth holding his lower lip as he focuses on his masterpiece.

“What got you into all of this stuff in the first place?” You ask, “Fashion, dressing up, the avant-garde style?”

He pulls away as he puts the lid back on the pencil. “I’m not gonna lie, I did do my fair share of raiding Allison’s wardrobe growing up, stealing a few of her magazines from her dresser etcetera. Guess I wanted the interior to mach the exterior, my personality definitely matches my appearance, now open your eyes?”

You do and look once again at him, his eyes are scanning your face for any imperfections he may come across. Finally deciding that his work was complete, he lets you turn to the mirror to see for yourself. You gaze at your reflection, it was subtle. Well, at least more subtle than you were expecting. Just some purple glitter on your eyes, slightly leading up towards your temples. It was the kind that was almost invisible in the dark, but would shimmer when the light hit it in the right angle. Perfect. You turned back to Klaus, his head resting in his hands as he studied your face for any disapproving looks.

“It’s perfect” you said,

“C’est magnifique.”

He stands up and hands you a bunch of clothes he has carefully selected. Urging you to put them on, he seemed almost as excited as a child playing dress up. The thought struck a nerve with you, remembering his less than ideal childhood, he probably never had the chance to experience this. Not wanting to keep him waiting any longer, you gathered the clothes in your arms and headed to the bathroom to change.

“Oh so you’re shy now? I promised I wouldn’t have peaked.” He says with a wink.

You can’t help but roll your eyes at his playful flirting, shutting the door behind you to inspect what outrageous outfit he had chosen this time. Flicking through the clothes you decide to just put them on, trusting his judgement on what he feels would look best. A pair of his wide legged black trousers and a pair of combat boots, matched with a sheer black button up shirt and on of his signature long necklaces. This outfit was definitely out of your comfort zone, however, you didn’t hate it at all. Fluffing up your hair to make it look slightly lived in, you open the door to your boyfriend to let him take in the view of his creation.

He turned around as soon as he heard the door open. His face softened into a genuine smile, he stood up to see you fully. Taking in your appearance, he couldn’t help but admire you. The way his trousers hugged your waist with the shirt elegantly draped over your shoulders was stunning. He stepped forwards to add some finishing touches, tucking in the shirt and undoing the top three buttons. He stopped at the third and gave you a suggestive smirk, you batted his hands away with a small chuckle.

“So give us a spin,” he smirked, which you reluctantly did, suddenly feeling slightly embarrassed as he shamelessly looked up and down your body. He noticed your hesitation and pulled you towards him by your waist.

“If you don’t like it you can take it off, you know that right?” A worried look now grazing his features, in fear he made you uncomfortable. You just smiled at his concern for you.

“I know, but your clothes just look so much better on me.”

“Brilliant” He said stifling a laugh, he began coaxing you to the door, holding out his classic black coat for you to put on. Checking one last time for your keys, phone and wallet, the two of you were ready to leave.

“M’lady…” He said, opening the door ahead and dramatically gesturing for you to go through. You head out to see where the night takes you both, arms linked together as you traverse the city, looking for excitement.

“No way.” You mumble to yourself as the car you’re in pulls up to one of the largest villas you’ve ever seen. Just from looking at the exterior of this place, you can tell that it was expensive. This couldn’t possibly be the place the boys had rented out for your vacation. There’s no way. This was way too much for just the eight of you and you were only staying for ten days.

“Um, excuse me sir?” You call out to the driver, whose name you had quickly forgotten within the two hour ride from the airport to this castle you’re currently in front of. “Yes Miss?” He answers politely whilst unbuckling his seat belt. “Are you sure this is the right place?” You question, voice riddled with uncertainty. “Of course Miss. This is the address I was instructed to take you to. Please stay seated, I will get the door.” His accent is thick but you are able to make out every word he says.

You enjoy the way the words sound rolling off of his tongue. It’s quite pleasant to hear.

“But this-“ You’re unable to protest because the driver eagerly gets out of the car, jogging around to the opposite side to unlock the backseat door. As soon as the door opens, the extremely hot weather hits you. You had no idea Paris got this hot in the summer time.

You hesitate getting out of the car as it is still cool from the air condition that was just on.

You definitely regret a black hoodie with matching black leggings now…

“Please step out miss,” The driver says with a kind smile. You know that’s just the professional way to say ‘Get the fuck out of my car.’ — so you do, not wanting to hold the man up any longer.

He probably has other people to pick up or maybe you were his last ride and he wanted to get home and retire for the evening, get home to his family... Whatever the case was, you finally decide to step out the car, feet hitting the concrete and the warm weather kisses your face. You instantly hate the feeling. You do enjoy summer, but not when it’s this hot.

“I will get your bags Miss.” You nod and turn to look around.

The place is extremely beautiful from what you can see outside. It’s rustically designed, with bricks, stone and wood. The path leading up to the house is all cobblestones… There’s no way you’d be able to get away with walking around in heels without busting your ass in process.

There is a large archway, made completely of stone. You assume that is where the entrance is.

You pull out your phone and quickly unlock it then go into your contacts... For a few seconds you’re not sure who you should call but then you decide it’d be best to call Taehyung as he is probably the one who picked out this villa… It pretty much has his name written all over it.

The phone rings two times before you hear the base of his sweet voice flow through your ears.

“Hi Darling, have you reached?”

“Kim Taehyung, I’m gonna murder you and the others.” You say, somewhat jokingly.

“Why? What’s wrong? Is everything okay with the house?” He asks you a hundred questions at once. You take few seconds to process everything before responding to him. “Everything is perfect...” You start as you watch the kind man take your duffle bag out and put it on top of your suitcase. He rolls the two up the pathway until he is disappearing behind the stone arch…

You are afraid to move from beside the car, just incase you are in fact, at the wrong place and have to make a quick exit before the owner of the property comes out with a blowtorch to light your ass up for trespassing.

“That’s the not problem.” You continue, there’s a pause on the other end. Tae is waiting for an explanation.

“What’s wrong Y/N? I’m starting to get worried.” Tae says after a few seconds of silence. You suddenly feel bad for making him concerned but you can’t wrap your head around the fact that the boys went out of their way to get a place this fancy for your anniversary.

“This place is way too big and expensive... You guys didn’t have to do this.”

Tae chuckles and shakes his head as if you could see him. “I know we didn’t have to but how often do the eight of us get to go on vacation together?”

He did have a point. You’ve known the boys for five years and have been dating them for two and in those two years of dating, the eight of you have never gotten a chance to go on a vacation without work being involved.

“I guess you’re right.” You start. “But still, isn’t this place a bit too much for the eight of us?”

“I personally think it’s not enough but Hyung wouldn’t let us rent the bigger villa a few blocks down.” Tae sighs and you have to chuckle at him. Tae is definitely Prince High in the land of Maintenance and he has the right to be. He’s extremely humble and has worked hard for everything he has, alongside his members. He deserve to enjoy the finer things in life and if that means spending a large sum of money on a vacation villa for eight then why the fuck not right?

“Okay Miss, you’re all set.” Your driver says as he jogs back over to meet you. “Thank you so much.” You smiled brightly at him. “What time does your flight get into tomorrow?” You ask Tae whilst pressing your phone between your ear and shoulder so that you can rummage through the bag that is draped across your body.

The boys had to take a flight a day later than you as they had a few things to finish up before getting to officially rest. You’d be missing a day with them but you figured you could use that time alone to do a little bit of self care and pampering or maybe a little bit of sightseeing.

“Our flight lands around noon so we should get to the villa around one or two pm.” Taehyung informs you as you pull your wallet out. You hum in response. “Sounds good. I can’t wait for you guys to get here.” You tell Tae as you take the crisp note out of your wallet and hand it over to the driver.

You’re happy that you remembered to convert your dollars into euros before leaving the airport.

The man before you smiles kindly and thanks you before heading back to his vehicle.

“I’m excited too darling,” Taehyung informs you, you can tell by the sound of his voice that there is a smile present on his face and that makes a smile form on your own. You go down the cobblestone path to your new home for the next ten days. A soft sigh leaves your lips as you get closer to the entrance of the villa. You’re relieved to be away from the sun and under the shade of the stone archway.

“Whoa” You mumble to yourself when you see the large glass door and the neon red ‘Exit’ sign beside it.

“I gotta getting going babe. The boys are waiting for me in rehearsal… We’ll call you later” Tae’s voice rings in your ear.

“Okay, I love you.”

“Love you too baby. Talk to you later.”

“Okay.” And with that you pull the phone away from your ear and end the call with Tae. Phone still in hand, you swipe your finger across the screen a few times to get to the massage app. Opening the group chat you have with the boys, you scroll up just a bit to find the access pin to get into the villa.

Once you find it, you take a few steps up to the door and tap on the key pad. It beeps to life and you slowly type in the pin, not wanting to mess up. The key pad light up a neon green, indicating that you put in the correct code. You grab hold of the handle and twist it before pushing the door open. “Oh my god,” Leaves your mouth in a soft gasps as you see the interior of the beautiful home. If you thought outside was gorgeous, inside takes the cake.

Your place would look like a freaking shoe box compared to this.

You close the front door and take off your bag and the hoodie you’re wearing. The cool breeze from the air condition meets your warm skin and you are incredibly thankful to the owner for leaving the AC on.

You decide to take a few minutes exploring the house. Upon entering the house, you are in the living room which is surrounded by stone walls and archways, just like outside. The brown leather furniture compliments the grey tone of the the walls. Walking further into the house, you step into the kitchen. It’s an open space, with a large window and a rustic wooden table in the center. Moving on, theres a common area with a large cherry wood piano taking up space in the corner. The wall across from the piano has a huge ceiling to floor photo of some musician you’ve never heard of.

Exploring more of the house, you discover that there is a second living room complete with a huge ass fire place and massive tv, a dining room that seats eight, five bedrooms and five full bathrooms. There’s a recreational area outside complete with a grill, benches and a huge pool. A second recreational area complete with a pool table and to top it all off, a gorgeous cement spiral staircase leading up to the second floor.

“This place is a fucking dream.” You think out loud, shaking your head is disbelief. You can’t even imagine how many numbers are on the price tag for a place like this. You don’t even want to think about how much money the boys spent to book it…

Going back to the front door, you grab your suitcase and pull it down the hall towards the bedrooms. There are three of them upstairs and two on the second floor. You’re sure you’ll be room hopping or maybe even sharing one room with all the guys so it doesn’t really matter what room you’re in but you do need somewhere to keep your things while you’re there… So, you go for the first room you see. It’s just as gorgeous as the rest of the house and maybe a little smaller than some of the other rooms in the villa but you don’t mind… It’s designed with stone walls, just like the living room, a queen sized bed facing a HUGE window that basically takes up the entire wall. Theres a small circular table and chair placed snuggly in the corner and a few pieces of artwork on the wall.

It’s perfect for you.

You pull your suitcase into the room and lay it flat on the floor. Pulling your phone out your back pocket, you sit on the floor with crossed legs. Opening up the camera on your phone, you decided to take a quick selfie.

You hold the camera up and stretch your hand out to get the perfect angle for the photo. You don’t look your best after a day full of traveling but you smile anyways. Eyes scrunched closed and two fingers up in a peace sign up, you snapped the picture. You don’t even take a second look at it before going into the family group chat. You select the photo then type out a message under it before hitting send.

hiiiii, not sure if Tae told the rest of you but i made it to the villa! its absolutely gorgeous and i can’t wait for you all to get here 🥺 love y’all!

After the message has been delivered, you start unpacking. First you pull out all your skincare, beauty and body products so that you can bring them into the bathroom. Next you take out all the little dresses and flowy tops you brought with you to hang in the closet. You take out your hats and accessories and neatly arrange them on the little table in the corner. Last is your shoes. A lot of sneakers and flat sandals because comfort is key and a few pairs of your favorite heels that go with everything. You line your shoes up against the wall in the closet. There’s no dresser in the room so you decide to keep your socks and undergarments in the suitcase before pulling your suitcase into the closet so that it is out of the way.

When you’re done with unpacking, you go into the bathroom to take a shower. You need to wash your hair and wash the flight off of you.

Stepping into the large shower, you immediately sigh when the water hits you. You start by washing your hair, taking time to let the soap lather up and seep into your roots. You could almost fall asleep from how good your fingers feel massaging your scalp.

When you’re done with your hair, you move on to washing your body. You let the warm water smooth your aching muscles. It takes you a total of thirty minutes to finish up your shower.

You push open the shower door and grab the nearest towel off the shelf. You quickly shake the cloth through your damp hair before tossing it in the hamper. You then decide to work on your skincare. That routine takes you about fifteen minutes. That’s enough time for your body to air dry because you are too lazy to pat yourself dry with a towel.

In the middle of the last step of your skincare regimen, you hear what sounds like the doorbell ring. The sound startles you, causing you to yelp. “What the fuck?” You think out loud. It rings again and you quickly pat the rest of your moisturizer into your face before grabbing your silk robe off the back of the bathroom door. You wrap yourself up in it before exiting the bathroom.

Extremely confused, you walk out your room and towards the front door. The closer you get to the front door, the more you’re able to see someone standing on the other side of the frosted glass.

You can’t make out who is it but there is definitely someone there. The doorbell rings again, causing you to jump for a second time. “Hello?” You say, putting your hand on the knob as you wait patiently for a response but it never comes.

The person on the other end lifts their hand up to knock this time. “Who is it?” You ask again, feeling like your heart is about to drop down to your stomach from

Who in the hell could be showing up to your secluded air b and b at six pm in the evening?

The knock on the door comes again, a little louder this time. “Who is it?” You ask for the second time, frustration evident in you voice. You’ve watched too many foreign hostage movies to know that the minute you open that door, someone in a mask is going to snatch you up and take you away.

You look to your left and grab the umbrella from the bucket beside the door... It’s not much but the end is pointy and if you push it hard enough, you’re sure you’ll be able to pierce through the skin of whoever is on the other side of the door. You steady your hand on the knob, ready to open it but you halt when the person on the other side finally speaks....

“Kitten, please open the door. It’s hot as fuck out here.”

You’d know that voice anywhere. Quickly pulling the door open, you are both delighted and relieved to see your boyfriend Yoongi, dressed in all black much like you were earlier. His gummy smile makes an appearance and your heart flutters. He looks down, taking notice to the umbrella in your hand before looking back up at you and raising a questionable eyebrow. “I thought you were a murderer.” You told

him and he chuckles. “Come here.” He says before, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you into him. You wrap your arms around his neck, umbrella still in hand.

“I thought you guys wouldn’t be here until tomorrow.” You say, pulling away from Yoongi to look at his face. “We wanted to surprise you.” He tells you and you smile before leaning forward to press a kiss to his soft lips.

It doesn’t take long for the kiss to escalate. You immediately melt in Yoongi’s arms. He holds you close to him as his tongue desperately licks at your bottom lip, asking for entrance. You smile against his mouth before parting your lips. He doesn’t hesitate to slip his warm tongue into your mouth. “Mmm” He moans against you. Your tongues caress each other’s, causing few moans of your own to fall past your lip.

“We haven’t even been here a full hour yet and Hyung is already hogging her.” You pull alway from Yoongi against his wishes to find a very pouty Jungkook staring at the two of you. You chuckle then turn back to Yoongi and peck his lips once more before moving yourself out of his grip. You walk over to your big baby and lean up to kiss his next. “I miss you Kookie.” You tell him truthfully and he smiles. “I missed you more.” He says before kissing you again.

“Um excuse me, can I get a little help please?” Taehyung huffs out. You look away from Jungkook to see poor Taehyung struggling up the cobblestone path with two large suitcases. “No.” Yoongi quickly says. “No one told you to bring a hundred bags. We’re only here for ten days.” He adds and you laugh. You walk over to Tae and take a suitcases from him. “Thank you Darling,” He says sweetly. “I can always count on you.” He continues, speaking loud enough for the other members to hear. You watch Yoongi ignore him and walk into the villa, Jungkook following closely behind.

“Wow!” Jungkook says excitedly, upon entering the home.

Turning your attrntion back to Tae, you begin pulling his suitcase along. It’s extremely heavy but you use all the strength you have to get it up the small steps. “Tae, what the hell? What’s in here?” You struggle to get the words out.

“Is it too heavy for you? I’ll take it.”

“No, no, it’s fine I can do it but what’s in here?”

“My shoes.”

You stop dead in your tracks, to look up at the handsome boy. “Seriously?” You question him in disbelief. “It’s good to have options baby.” He says nonchalantly. You laugh and shake your head, finishing your journey up the steps and into the villa.

Tae comes inside after you and his mouth drops in awe at the beauty of your home for the next week. “This is better than the pictures online.” Tae says as he pushes his suitcase to the side and runs off to explore the house.

Yoongi has already taken up space on the couch, his eyes closed and hand placed over his stomach as he lays across the cushions.

Jungkook is in the kitchen unloading his bag of snacks.

You realize that those two are probably done helping with the luggage so you go back outside to give a hand.

As you step towards the door, you come face to face with the one and only Kim Seokjin. He smiles brightly at you. “Hi Princess!” He greets you excitedly. “Hello Handsome.” You give his lips a quick kiss before stepping aside to let him in. “Why do you have an umbrella?” He questions you and you look down at your hand. You totally forgot you were holding it. “Oh,” You says before putting it back in the basket it belongs in. “Umm, funny story. I’ll tell you about it later.” You say in amusement. “I look forward to it.” He says, as he struts back over to you and wraps you in a tight bear hug. Your face is pressed to his chest and you silently inhale, taking comfort in his scent.

“Are you sniffing me?”

‘He caught me.’ You think to yourself.

“What? No.. That’s weird.”

“It’s okay…” Jin tells you. “If I were you, I’d sniff me too.” He says smugly and you instantly roll your eyes. “Ugh!” You groan trying to feign annoyance but the smirk on your face tells a different story. You try to push yourself out of Jin’s grip but he just holds you tighter, laughing at your attempt to escape. “Where are you going?” Jin ask, snuggling closer to you.

“I’m going to help with the rest of bags.”

“It’s okay Angel,” You hear Hobi’s voice from behind you. You turn around as much as you can whilst still Jin’s grip. Hoseok comes into view, looking as handsome as always, Followed by the equally handsome Park Jimin, strutting in a pair of pink tinted sunglasses.

“Jimin and I got the last of them.” He informs you as he drops his duffel bag off his shoulder. “Hi Guys!” You say excitedly before turning you head to look back up at Jin.

“Babe, you gotta let me go now...”

“And why is that?”

“We’ve been hugging for at least five minutes, I wanna hug Hobi and Jimin too.”

“Yeah, we missed her too Hyung,” Hobi says, making his way over to the two of you. “I suppose... But first,” Jin pokes out his lips out, indicating that he wants a kiss from you. You first reaction is to laugh at him...

“You big baby...” You mumble before standing on your toes to peck his lips once. Of course one kiss is not enough for him, so he pecks your lips two more times. Progress report:

I downloaded many medieval things from many sites. Still need to install most of them. The big problem was attempting to download literally everything from Almighty Hat--I was planning to mainly just go for objects at this point, but there was so. much. hair. and medieval undergarments! different ones from the other Almighty Hat ones I already had! ...so eventually I bookmarked the hair pages I thought I didn’t have, and promised myself to do a hair run later. That means it feels like I only have PBK left to scour for objects, without counting things like GOS gift sets as I don’t even know how to begin searching through that without literally looking at everything.

The CEP seemed to solve the blue on the medieval wood set... until I loaded a lot where I had already placed them. Then the blue was back, would not depart, and any new attempts at placing also came with blue. This is after emptying my cache AND clearing all the thumbnails, you understand. I guess placing the blue objects was a bad idea as now the lots have re-cursed the objects with blue? Should I just sell and replace the cursed objects with different ones, or do I need to do another re-download, or what? I will have to see.

Anyway, today I built a beekeeping farm for the Patels that turned out pretty great. Try as I might, I could not make the lot be worth $35,000 as yeoman lots should be, but it’s fine. There’s only so much decor I could cram in there anyway.

I forgot to position the camera correctly to see the ceiling, but trust me it has one. Oh, probably I left the game set on an upper floor after taking the outside picture. Mea culpa!

Bush clipping in from outside, might have to deal with that. I found I like clustering the fridge, sink, and tub next to each other in my medieval kitchens in an effort to imply that they are sharing a small water supply rather than having the whole house full of plumbing wherever.

Second floor! I have finally figured out to put roof walls above interior walls. This room is currently a vague nursery, and has loads of space for more children as needed.

The bed looks a little overly fancy, but it wasn’t expensive. I’m just going to pretend a relative carved it all nice for them.

The yard! Little outhouse, five beehives ready to be filled, a honey press, four apple trees and one each pear and persimmon for variety, and a row of blackberry bushes.

Rows of herbs and berry bushes, and in the distance a slightly overgrown cluster of shrubs and wildflowers for the bees to enjoy!

And a small market stand out front to sell their herbs, fruit, and honey. Maybe someday, they’ll add a fully indoor home store to sell out of, but right now I love this house too much to change it. It’s that glamorous yellow plaster-and-timber exterior, I am sure. I’m a little concerned I made it too nice for yeomen, but it has the correct number of rooms and furniture (plus some decor and one extra side table for the scroll phone), and they didn’t even fill out the standard pre-garden yeomen budget of $35,000, so it’s probably fine.

And I am getting very close to finishing the makeovers of Desiderata Valley, after which will be everyone’s favorite, Pleasantview!

The second yeoman family of Desiderata Valley, after the Ottomases, is the Jocque family.

Sophia Jocque. I try to match the colors of each sim’s original outfit unless I find something else I like better, and I made a point of giving her long, soft hair to counteract her very square jaw. I think she came out looking really nice!

Marcel Jocque. Nothing special, but I’ve been trying that hair on lots of men and am pleased I finally found one for whom it worked!

Violet Jocque, now with one long braid instead of two short ones!

Next we have the Bells, the only merchant family of Desiderata Valley.

Hannah Bell. Although I usually vaguely aim in the direction of whatever texture a sim’s original hair is, in this case I didn’t think it was particularly sensible to give Hannah and Sharon straight hair. No straighteners in the medieval megahood! Besides, she looks much nicer with those braids.

...and Sharon looks amazing with this short curly mop. She’s a tad rebellious anyway, and I didn’t want to repeat my longer curly hairs this early.

Isaac Bell. It was kinda tough finding him an outfit that reflected his colors without being too high or low class, and without simply repeating what I’ve put on other yeomen. As you can see, I didn’t quite nail it (his original outfit is pink and grey), but this works; he looks like he’s got a bucket of charisma.

And Daniel Bell, sneaking in one last use of the TV before everything goes full medieval.

Finally, the gentry of Desiderata Valley, Lady Natasha Una.

...she’s still obsessed with grilled cheese. I might change that, but then again I might not. She’s one of the highest ranking available adult women, so she probably won’t stay single for long. Her best prospects are currently Duke Armand DeBateau, Lord Nervous Subject/Specter (I’ll probably change his last name to Specter, Subject is his... hostage name), or, failing either of those, Lord Geoff Rutherford, Lord Connor Weir, Lord Kent Capp, or Lord Frances J. Worthington III. Kent Capp is less likely, as I want to prioritize him for ladies that need to keep their names and positions, but he’s definitely an option, and they have hit it off before in other, non-medieval megahoods I’ve played.

I just have to makeover the Aspir family, and then I’ll be on to the peasants of Pleasantview. Also, I have decided that I need to finish making over all the playable sims (including the college sims) before I can start actually playing, in addition to completing all lot construction and remodeling in Belladonna Cove. I... am not sure yet whether it’s a great or terrible idea to start actually playing before I finish Everything, but it at least makes a nice smaller goal to shoot for.

I have a dilemma that I’d like some input about, regarding Mustang Valley, the neighborhood-to-be-shared. I’m trying to decide how much to furnish the inside of the houses, and since I’m now at the point of building all the residential lots, this is something I need to figure out now, and I’d like some input from potential downloaders on the subject. I’m sorry, but not only would it be way too much CC for most people’s likings, but it would also take me much longer to finish the neighborhood, on the order of maybe a year instead of the few months that I’d like it to take. So, the three options I’m contemplating:

1) Only doing nicely done-up kitchens and baths, with all appliances/fixtures/counters as well as some limited finishing throughout the house, like walls/floors, fireplaces, and some limited lighting (like wired-in ceiling/wall fixtures, no table/floor lamps and such). There would be no furniture at all. It’d be what you usually get when you purchase a house in real life. Some of the stuff I’d use would be CC/recolors, but I’d keep it mostly to stuff that (I think!) is very common and that probably a lot of people already have -- i.e., Buggybooz’s “Kitchen Basic” stuff -- although they might not have the recolors I’d use.

2) Furnishing everything very basically and using only un-recolored Maxis stuff, so it would therefore be ugly and ought to be considered all just placeholders that you’d switch out for stuff you actually like. This would mean no CC at all for the stuff used for interiors.

3) Furnishing still basically (just basic furniture, no curtains, plants, rugs, paintings, etc. etc.) but more prettily with some CC/recolors. This would be more or less the level seen in this lot, which is the only completely-done lot so far.

Each of these options has advantages and disadvantages, and all of them are aimed at keeping the CC down, since there will already be plenty of that used for exteriors and neighborhood decoration and whatnot. Option 3 would have the most CC, obviously, but Option 1 would have some, too, while Option 2 would have none but also be quite ugly. Personally, I keep going back and forth between Options 1 and 3, but I am leaning more toward Option 1 at the moment. However, that option would require people to do some basic furnishing before they can move Sims into lots, whereas Option 3 would be fully functional in terms of motive-filling, if not especially finished and pretty. So, I’d like to get some opinions about what others would find most useful, should they download this neighborhood. Fire away, if you like. :)

Uh, thanks, but...” The scientist yawns in the middle of her excuse, claiming: “I’m just so tired from working all day. I’m just gonna head straight to bed.” “Eh, suit yourself.”

Plopping herself down upon the guest bed, she feels her stomach rumbling out to her, calling out for a meal. She grasps her stomach, thinking to herself. “So hungry. But I can’t eat that stuff. Who knows what it might do to me. Just gotta hang in there and hope my bag turns up.” With nothing around for her to eat, she tries to sleep off her hunger pains.

After dodging morning breakfast, she’d told to pick the apples from the trees beside the cornfield. With basket in hand, she finds the healthy looking tree full of golden apples. Picking one of them off the branch, she looks over the bountiful fruit. It’s doesn’t look horribly disfigured, just looks like any plain old apple. The color is a little suspicious, though she had heard of apples called golden delicious that look similar. The temptation of the shining fruit makes the young lady drool out. Its almost too much to resist. Maybe just...one bite wouldn’t hurt. The scientist begins to lift the apple towards her salivating lips, her mouth widening as the juicy fruit edges close. Just when her teeth were near biting down upon the golden delicious, she sees the skin of fruit slightly pulsate, almost like a beating heart. The site snaps her out of the wicked trance, dropping the fruit as she backs away from the tree in a panic. Jeb rushes to her aid, asking: “What? What’s wrong?” “The-the apple. I thought I saw it pulse.” “What?” The farmer picks up the apple the scientist dropped, inspecting the fruit in question. “Hmm...” After looking over the apple, the farmer tells her: “Looks fine to me.” Turning to the young lady, the farmer suggests: “Maybe its just the heat. It is a scorcher today.” As Jeb walks away, Clara approaches the tree once more, inspecting the apple he had dropped on the ground. She wonders of what she saw was really just the heat getting to her or if the excuse the farmer fed her was a lie.

After picking the rest of the ominous apples, she then tasked to help pick the crops. While tending to the kernel fields, she knew something had to be up with the orange shells. Peeling back the shell revealed the kaleidoscope pattern underneath, like the colors a junkie would see when taking a daily dose of LSD. Of course. Clara refrained from freaking out over the technicolor corn and instead took an exhausted sigh. She was just about done with this shit. Looking behind the wall of crops, the scientist finds the father and son distracted with picking their harvest. In the other direction stood the home of the family. The situation couldn’t be any more perfect. With haste, she quietly makes her way towards the abode.

With nobody around, she begins her search for her supplies with one of the bedrooms upstairs. Inside the couples dwellings, she looks through their closet, finding farm shirts and dresses among the dozen. All of them were put together with one another, making it hard to tell which articles of clothing belonged to whom among the bunch. Looking through proved to be fruitless as her bag wasn’t within. She tries her luck with the drawers, but finds nothing but bunched up garments inside. Finally she looks under the bed, but to no avail.

The young lady moves onto the living closet. Opening inside revealed an entire plethora of junk cobbled together in such a terrible mess. Seriously, do these people ever organize? Among the junk, she doesn’t see her stuff and closes the door, finding the old woman on the other side. The sudden appearance makes Clara jump, the elders fixed gaze staring at the scientist. “Oh. Hey. I...I was just looking for the...bathroom. Yeah, he he. Was just a little lost is all.” As the young lady faked an innocent laughter, the grandmothers only responds with her deadpan glare. Clara backs away from the old lady, entering the nearest room she could.

After a weary sigh, she found herself in the bathroom. She might as well look through since she’s got the chance. Peeking in the shower, she finds bottles of home made soap and shampoo beside yellow rust stained wall, but no bag. Looking into the cabinet under sink showed toilet paper, a scrub brush, electric clippers and more soaps next to a set of rusty pipe, but still no bag. She then turns her attention towards the toilet. Doubt that they’d be stupid enough to hide it in there. But considering what they consume, it wouldn’t be that far-fetched. She slowly lifts the lid of the toilet with wavering desire. Please let there be nothing in here. Thankfully, there wasn’t. That’s a relief. Maybe inside the back? Lifting the lid of the back revealed the pipework of the oval office submerged in water, but again no bag.

Walking out the bathroom, she’s surprisingly greeted with the misses. “What are you doing inside, dear? Shouldn’t you be helping the boys?” she questions. “I-I am. I just needed to go to the bathroom, is all.” “You look a little thirsty. Mind a glass of apple juice?” Marcy offers, lifting a glass of apple juice from seemingly nowhere. “Uh...No thanks. I’ll just take some water. Can’t really have any sugar. Diabetes and stuff. Real shame. Sure looks good though.” With that lie delivered, she hurries away from the housewife.

After dodging dinner once more, Clara climbs into bed. Her stomach strikes out in hunger, the fatigue spreading through her body. She groans alongside her empty belly. Can’t keep this up forever. Sooner or later, something has to go in her gullet.

Biting off the pillow trying to stave off her pains, the constant hunger keeps her from drifting off to sleep through the night. Quite convenient that it did thought, for she spots a shining light outside in her hunger fueled wake. Looking out the window, she finds Rubin walking towards the barn with a lit lantern and something else in hand. A closer look shows the farmers son carrying the scientists backpack. A lot of questions go through Clara’s head, but she was to starving to answer any of them. The young lady just wanted her stuff back. She rises from her bed, ready to claim her supplies back from these lying hillbillies. Going downstairs would be far too risky, so she opts to just jump out the window instead. She falls from the second story and onto the crack ground below with a thud. After prying herself off the ground, she scurries towards the barn. In front of the red farmhouse, the young lady finds the door to be sliding open, much to her dismay.

Rubin comes out of the barn, thinking that he might have heard something, but the empty night air in front of him proved otherwise. His worry put to rest, the farmers son head back towards his abode failing to notice Clara hiding on the side of the barn. Seeing him go back inside, the scientist sneaks into the red building.

Within, Clara looks around for where Rubin might have stashed her bag, the animals sound asleep within their pens. The lantern the farmers son left behind gives of a warm, gentle glow that illuminates the inside of the barn in a soft sheet of light. Grasping the lantern, it helps her search through the barn as she scans through the freshly cleaned pens, careful not to awaken the slumbering mutants within. Finding no success in tracking her pack, she wonders where else he might have stored it. Above, soft blue light shines through the roof. Following the light, she spots her supplies in the lunar spotlight, perched atop one of the horizontal railings. Looking around, she doesn’t see anywhere she might be able to climb up towards the wooden support. So instead, she decides to make one. The tools that were left behind during her clean up of the pens the other day should suffice.

Leaving the burning lantern on the floor, she carefully stacks the tools and supplies, making a less than sturdy pole leading up towards the roof. Atop, Clara jumps for the wooden railing, making the wobbly structure collapse. The scientist manages to grasp the support beam, pulling herself to the top of the railing. She balances her way towards her bag, shimmying around the wooden columns that hold the ceiling in place. Clara closes in on her supplies, but find them to be moving away from her. She quickly crawls towards the bag as it tries to escape. The young lady then jumps for her pack, catching her supplies as she falls towards the floor. After rolling through the barn upon impact, she shakes off the dirt on her and check to see if all of her stuff was inside. Looks like it everything’s in place. With that confirmed, she heads for the exit. When trying to slide the door open, she finds it to be stuck. “Dammit, locked! Did they see me?” she wonders. “No. We locked it.” a voice rings out. The sudden chime makes her jumps, looking around the barn for who might have answered. “Who...Who’s there?” she cautiously asks. How could her mysterious guest know what she was thinking? Looking towards the pens, she sees the locks on the gates open on their own. The gates then swing open, prompting the animals inside to walk out. All of them gather in front of her, their beady gaze locked onto the scientist. “No...Did...Did one of you just say that?” The pigs eyes begin to give an emerald glow as a voice pierces through the scientist psyche. “Indeed...We did.” Her suspicions proven correct, Clara backs away from the barn mates, her back against the door. “We have been blessed and cursed with the gift of perception alongside the power of the psychics.” “How is this possible?” the scientist wonders. “It was thanks all in part to the radioactive wastes that plague this land.”

“One unfortunate day ago, a massive nuclear blast struck our home, tainting the very land we have grown to love. In the aftermath, we found our precious home destroyed alongside our families, and our caretakers at the time. Endlessly, we wandered through the broken fields. Our hunger unable to diminish thanks to our mutations. Until we found the humble family that you’ve gotten to know.” “Using our own by products, milk, eggs, and even fertilizer, we have taken control of their minds and indoctrinated them as our servants. As long as they eat our tainted food, we may command them to do as we wish.” “But they took you in and took care of you. H-how could you do this to them?” Clara demands. “We have delved into their minds and found their true intentions. They didn’t love us. They wanted to eat us. Just like the rest.” “Before we stumbled upon this once baron farm, we’ve came across dozens of humans during our travels that have had the same desires as they did. It made us question if the farmer that bred us had the same intentions. We’ve delved into their psyches in search for an answer as to why. Why us?” “It was then that we’ve found that our kind was nothing but food to the human race. Even going so far as to slaughter our kind by the millions. Marching them to their deaths in murderous factories.” “We shall end this horrible suffering. Using the food we grow, we shall spread our influence across the land. Mutating our kind into the realm of sentience and flipping the entire food chain upside down. It’s going to be one hell of a party.” “That’s why, Clara, we need you.” Out from the shadows of the barn appeared the farmer and his family, their eyes glistening a glow of emerald. “For our plan to flourish, We need all the human hands we can find.” The family surrounds the scientist, pinning her to the hay covered ground by her arms. As she struggles to free herself from their grip, the son takes out something that vaguely resembled a tomato. The grandmother forcefully opens her mouth as Rubin drives the misshapen vegetable towards her face. “Don’t worry darling. You’ll soon be one of the family.” Marcy assures. “We could always use more help around the farm.” Jeb mentions. “Once you get some grub in your gullet. You’ll be just fine.” Rubin tells her. “Eh he he he he he he he! Eat up, sweetie.” the grandmother manically commands. Struggling under their grip, she kicks Rubin in the crotch and throws him onto his grandmother. She then breaks out of the couples grip and runs from the family.

Past the psychic animals, she rushes towards the back of the barn to brandish the shovel left upon the floor. The son quickly approaching, she strikes Rubin in the head with the blunt end of the tool. The horse threatening to stomp on the scientist, Clara sidesteps out of the way of the hooves. The chickens flutter at her, pecking at her face. Before they could go for the eyes, she smacks them aside. The couple lunge towards the scientist in a hurry, one of the chickens hitting the husbands in the face. Clara swings downwards towards her legs, tripping the wife down on the ground. The cow charges straight for her, its angry mooing echoing through the barn. She dodges out of the stampeding bovines path, leaving it to break through the pens. The pig tries to take her shovel using its telekinetic powers. Clara grips onto her weapon, pulling back against the pigs psychic pull. She looks down and finds a bunch of the hay laid abut her feet. The scientist kicks the hay and dirt in the pigs direction, making the pork chop flinch as it tries shakes the dirt out. She then uses this chance to smack the pig towards the wall like a golf club whacking a ball across the green.

As the piggy was whacked towards the wall, it smacks into the lantern resting next to the supplies. The flames inside are knocked into the hay laid strewn across the floor, quickly growing to a fiery blaze. “Quick! Put the flames out!” the horse demands. As all of them were distracted by the fire, Clara begins to head for the door. The flames are a step ahead of her as they consume the entrance in a blaze. The only way out now is the hole in the roof, but how to reach it? There's not enough time to stack the tools again; this place is burning down fast. Seeing the horse fruitlessly stamp on the fires near one of the unbroken pens gives her the chance she need. Clara jumps on the set of pens, rushing towards the horse as the fire starts to consume them. She jumps on to the horses back and towards one of the barn walls. The scientist jams the shovel into the wall, giving her the perfect platform to jump for the remaining roof support. Clinging to the wooden railing, she hurries along the horizontal beams as the flames drew closer. Clara leaps towards the hole in the roof and climbs out before the fire could reach. She jumps off the roof of the barn and roughly lands on the cracked grounds below.

Looking back, she watches as the red building is consumed by the fire, the orange glow of the flames piercing through the night. Looking towards the various fields and gardens full of mind control inducing fruits and vegetables, she knew what she had to do. Using one of the nearby corn stalks as a torch, she sets the entire plantation ablaze, making sure that none of these mutant plants are left for anyone to consume just in case one of the farm animals survives. With the farm in a blazing storm, Clara takes out one of her reserves as she set off into the nightly wastes.
