forgive me for surely sounding dramatic but i feel like a lot of people's gotchas for when someone says something kind of out of line ("you say that but can't even ask for ketchup" "this is why you failed english class" are examples that come to mind) are like. not full on ableist but definitely smell like it. like perhaps these aren't as funny things to say as you think. you're just making fun of things people genuinely struggle with for many possible reasons that aren't related to their online behavior in any way

#the english class thing is extra annoying to me esp when coming from americans #you always complain abt your education system being shitty and full of propaganda. has it even occurred to you that it's even worse -#- in other countries? 😭 (also shitty teachers exist so sometimes you just have to learn reading comprehension on your own 🤷‍♂️)#but the can't ask for ketchup punchline is unfortunately too common and going strong for years by now #which. has always been upsetting to me. bc why is this the first thing you assume abt someone being rude #what a weird conclusion to jump to that shows that you're gonna make fun of someone for smth they probably already feel bad about #maybe it's not that deep but. it certainly comes off as unnecessarily mean and even childish at times #anyway. that's my rant for today. sorry. might delete this later
