recommending shaman king to friends is so hard because on one hand it's incredibly entertaining and sometimes has pretty good writing but on the other hand it is capable of sinking so so low into the pits of garbage and stupidity

#shaman king #I've just been calling it mediocre in recommendations because it honestly does even out to that #I am both its greatest stan and most intense hater I can NOT look at this thing objectively #like how is the guy who wrote lyserg diethel's character arc the same one who did the visual design for joco mcdonell #the duality of oh shit that was pretty cool and grievously terrible descisions #I would like to yell at takei about his work in both the most positive and most negative ways #like most of the stuff I clown on him for is silly and inconsequential #oh heehee timeline's fucked pacing go zoom silly silly power system #but this man has made m i s t a k e s #and it makes me so mad because he's also written a very entertaining stupid lil manga that I dearly love #pain and suffering and pain
