ok let's see if tumblr doesn't eat my tags this time spn spnart spn art mine spn fanart trueforms fanart this is a big moment with so much symbolism. he was literally pregnant. and he was hungry bc he is a being of hungers like i said the other day he is the anti-ladyduck AND the male duck and the female paradise snake so there's the eyemouth at the center with the black hole swirls like in the bloody valentine one. representing that hunger and at the center are the leviathans. filling him to the brim and trying to grab him from the inside out the leviathans are the first time i do a trueform of something that isn't an angel they aren't portrayed as individuals. in this moment they're a sort of amorphous crowd. the sum disregarding the parts so i did them like that. and for the colors i went with the same shade of greenish dark grey i used for the ground of purgatory and gold that i've associated with grace like i said in that meta i posted earlier bc like i said they may be monsters but regardless of how the show never tackled the topic of the Other properly monsters have souls too and the leviathans turned cas into god (well A god) so children of nasty evil eve as they may be they have Something akin to holy grace and the way i see it might me something common to all souls. it just manifests differently. but that's another discussion anyways purgatory ground and holy ichor makes leviathans. incomprehensible as all trueforms are but starkly different from angel trueforms the legs are. well. two meanings at once for the two metaphors the show made very literal. and there's bite marks on the legs :) i did those by marking down the teeth marks with a spatula and then painting over it all with red crayon the arms grabbing cas from behind. well. do with those what you will and this is in the moment where he can't hold on much longer and is about to quite literally give birth so that's why the legs are likethat and in allusion to the lake moment i spritzed the whole thing with silver paint dilluted in water to give that shining effect and the drips the drips aren't really visible in the photo but i let the paper look crumbled bc it also has that look of having been wet water being significant here the hand designs are different too. the ones grabbing him from behind are softer with curved edges the leviathans' ones are once again thee saul bass hands from the man with the golden arm poster and the dripping ichor from cas is self explanatory i think
