AAANDDDDD so, after a fun Dionysian month, we are at the end! 🥹 Wrapping all of these up with this quick flash forward doodle- starring special guest, Hypnos & Pasi’s eldest son Icy…. circa age like. 7 lmfao,,, omfg. Yeah give your anxious children alcohol!!! never fails!!! says Horrible Influence & Terrible Person Dionysus😍 AAAHHH—

 ….needless to say he is not a continued or permitted presence in his grandchildren’s lives (HE HAS NOT MET AND CAN NEVER MEET PHO LMAO)

  🌟though this is technically the formal and fancy end of this Series right now, I have one more behind the scenes post to make so that I can dump some sketches/concept art, plus stuff that I ended up deciding not to finish, I want to put them all somewhere!!! so that odds and ends scrap post will be the actual conclusion but as far as pretty finished art - here<3333 i hope this has been as fun for everyone as it has been for me and my one track brain fkkfgjjg

✨feat. the fourth of four “interlude” comics, AKA THE BIG ONE!!! AT LONG LAST!!!!!  I hope all this hyping has paid off because all of these have basically just been building to this one comic, which originally started as one quick sketch, and then exploded into five pages of one of the meanest things I’ve ever done :’) i’ll spare u all from taking up more space lmao and my notes n’ commentary are behind the cut!

“WHY DIDNT PASI GO WITH HIM?!?!?!?!!!” you are probably asking, Umm because (obnoxious Ancient Greek Olympian Older Sisters Voice) you can’t go with your own future husband to ask for your own hand in marriage that’s HIS and your father’s job duh????? (one thousand years later Pasi’s still like uGhhGhHH I SHOULD HAVE FOUGHT HARDER)

!!Authors note for just me specifically to clear my conscience! I KNOW bacchanal is the Roman term not the Greek term but it fit the flow of the sentence better so what’s one more anachronism among one million shhhhhHHH—

the last page - featuring special surprise cameo by an elysium’verse ✨ARIADNE🧶✨- was added super last minute and primarily JUST actually for the ulterior motive of drawing Ariadne jn the dumbest background visual gag of all time, for you keen eyed Greek mythology fans 🧶🧶 (aDFLGL IM SORRY ITS SOOOO STUPID LMFAO) (I also just rlly wanted to design her 🥺)

every line of dialogue here was the absolute most fun to write - I love writing ElysiumOlympians so much and Di is no exception, that sweet sweet condescending passive aggression!! and to be clear, this is Dionysus LIKING Hypnos! this DID go well! oh my god!

And finally, I also must point out every expression here was ALSO so much fun to draw! Despite how much I complain abt doing them I think I do I love drawing comics cause choosing one million micro expressions is my absolute jammmm*~ obviously my fave panel of this collection is page three at the bottom duh

this iiiissss the jumpcut to the next “scene” going along with the previous page, so still in the long ago time frame of Hypnos and Pasi newly engaged / about to be!

fjgjg this is PrettyObviously just an excuse to shoehorn a Maci cameo into all of these Dionysus posts but hey as long as im building characterization interludes, right!!! I love exploring character dynamics and I never draw her interacting with Hypnos and Pasi despite them being two of her best friends (that is, the very rare type of best friends who she’s not also sleeping with fggkfffk she’s got plenty of the other type) - so like 🥺aaaa

Like this an the last one dont even have Di in them directly obv but i just CLENCHES FIST really thinkkk that the way characters talk ABOUT other characters adds so much to grasping the personality and characterization  especially when faced with this specific task of introducing someone “new”, outside of our direct rp verse, having to clarify that He’s Always Been Here and really quickly establish him to The Viewer IDK i just think thats important BUT ALSO FUN!!! idk thats some sage and wise worldbuilding advice frommm Me Fucking Around

we are flashbacking back to when Pasi & Hypnos were newly engaged or uh, in the process of it! sssssssSssSSo sometimes one has to consider the lesser of two evils, in which option one is what is sure to be a less than stellar encounter but option two could be Getting Pentheus’ed so like. ACK! Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiineeeeeee i GUESSS ugHHhhHhh. man having famous TM olympian parents is a whole nother horrific level ;((

Pasi loves her sisters but they were and are unfortunately much more olympian-brained than she ever was, even still to this day

haha fun little wink wink up there with that offhanded mention of Hera bc the actual non Elysiumed myth of how Hypnos and Pasithea were able to get married is one of my faves and also ABSOLUTELY at least loosely canon to the Elysiumverse lmfaooooo (*loosely bc - is this timeframe really happening parallel to the Trojan war uhhhh I do NOT know about that like. PROBABLY NOT??? but. the detail gist at least shhhhhh.)

fun fact this page was one of the first things I drew from aAAALLL of these pics and it was 1) when i was still deluding myself into thinking all these would be quick and scribbly so oops and 2) long before I decided to make a font to use so PLS excuse these speech bubbles lmao

Back to the modern-ish day! the style of every one of these drawigs has been and will continue to vary deeply but this one happens to be my fave actually teehee

Writing any Olympian dialogue is so consistently fun for me especially when given the task of letting them describe or interact with any of our guys, that casual condescending revulsion. Also saying this about HYPNOS of all chthonic deities is so so funny bc like. he’s a six foot tall sleeping blond angel this is the face of goth terror to everyone? oookay....... Olympians are so fucking dramatic

  There are some interesting implications here within Di speaking to presumably A CROWD OF JEERING MAENADS, in that Pasi’s marriage is really only passable because it allows HIM to have an interesting story to misconstrue to others, a la here lmao I mean,,,,,.... jesus christ.

that special brand of Olympian narcissism (how does my daughters marriage ~*AFFECT ME*~) is the norm up on that mountain but one has to imagine that coupled with certain unhinged bloodsoaked party proclivities makes Di one of the most intimidating father-in-laws to have??????? Gosh I Wonder What That Initial Interaction Had Been Like Hmmm—-

are Elysium!Di’s Bacchae brigade possessed & hypnotized, or are they volunteers? ARE they here of their own free will, are they just filled with natural bloodlust, or have they been driven to insanity, or are they just kinda drunk, or are they completely entranced trapped within the confines of their minds helpless to stop themselves from tearing apart whatever crosses their paths as urged on by a sadistic higher power, or are they just girls bein girls? The answer is yes :)  sure :)  all of the above :) Mm whatever :)))))))

The first picture is just a quick concept drawing to go along with my main goal of the second picture lol, so, conceptualizing the Maenads as a hodgepodge blend of specific breed of nymph + other random nymphs + stray mortals, their eyes all cutely coincidentally matching across species✨ what a strange random happenstance

then the next pic - sorry guys u were in the splash zone -_- but RRIIIPSPLAT is the sound of FUN! This little two slot comic doesn’t count as one of my “formal” interludes even though it says a lot about character nevertheless lmfaoooo aUGHH??? ✨feat. the first of four “interlude” comics!✨

Okay Pasi’s dad, what about Pasi’s mom??? That’s right it’s— NOT Aphrodite and don’t you forget it.( also tbh barely a dad on the other end says Pasi amiright aHEM—)

Took a bit of Elysium-brand liberty to blend up some of the mythological options for the parents of the Kharities, landed on Pasi’s mother being one of the Oceanids who cares it doesn’t matter. What DOES matter is, in the typical Elysium!Olympian fashion of Every Deity for Themselves With No Regards for the Other Just A Selfish Free-For-All,, Pasi & sisters were pawned off on Aphrodite (💕cameo alert!!!💕) who took them in just cause they were cute 🥺 and bc Di promised her a favor and batted his eyelashes, the absolute weasel. they were AACTUALLY loosely raised by random nymphs in her court, and grew up to serve as handmaidens to her and later Hera herself — NOT as daughters just there as pets.,,,, unless convenient in the moment.

—and then a quick cut to some Underworld clarity of flabbergasted & nervous laughter lmao. Timeframe wise this is taking place before Hypnos and Pasi were engaged & just were dating, yknow the tragic backstory sharing stage of the relationship plus token eternal third wheel Maci (that’s mean to her, she and Pasi did become fast friends back then too ffkfkfkf still!). lemme repeat my twt comments of, Maci’s VERY well-versed in that special Olympian brand of nonsense thanks to her childhood springsummers with Grandma - however Pasi was Hypnos’ first hands-on experience with it so like AAHH it *IS* tHAT BAD??
