do other races of hyrule exist in your au story? how do they survive in the harsh land?

Hi! Sorry for the late answer… this was a really interesting question so I wanted to really think about it!

I'd like to think the other races exist, but might have fled Hyrule long ago in search for kinder lands… so long ago that the existence of them are more myth than fact among the hylians. There are mentions of them in some of Zelda's old, old books, but no one knows if it's true. The hylians are a very isolated people, since travel is difficult.

Zoras, though, ever-adaptable as they are, managed to grow (or shrink, in this case) and evolve into a form more suited for the cold. They live in the freezing waters under the thick layers of ice. They are much smaller and more fish-like, but they kept the ability to talk and can still breathe above the surface, even though it takes a bit more effort!
