If i had a nickel for every time i watched an anime where the MC was a boy with abnormal powers and then a girl who’s abnormally “pretty” falls in love with the MC and then also a random magician calls the MC Master, I’d have two nickels.

Which isn’t alot but it’s weird its happened twice.

Hi!! Following up on the 2022 genre bingo made by the amazing @bulletnotestudies , I just finished the second book of the challenge and third reading of the year!

This one will go marked as the fantasy book because it's all about magic, magical creatures and how our own strenght is equally important in these awesome worlds. Spinning Silver, by Naomi Novik (the author of one my favorite books, Uprooted) was a wonderful story, thrilling adventure and a very funny reading.

I'm always glad to get to know I little more about other religions and how it plays a role on the character's daily life. One of the protagonists, Miryem, is Jewish, so is all her family and I loved to read about some of their traditions. I also really enjoyed the fact that the magic aspects of her journey did not make that part of her life less important.

One of my favorite characters was the Staryk King. First because c'mon, a powerful magic imortal being whose powers are all about winter? Sign me up, always. Also, his pride was hilarious from time to time. He was proud yesterday, he is proud today and tomorrow, if he lives, he'll continue acting like he owns the place (which he does... but still, he has more pride than Mr. Darcy and it's a blast to read it).

Now, to wrap it up nicely, let's talk about how the girls of this story are brave and inspiring! Miryem didn't like her situation so she took the matters into her own hands. Wanda had to figure out what to do as she went, but it only made her stronger. Irina just went there and did her best and become the greater. Seriously, it was all about knowing the potential they had and actually using it.
