Norn9: Last Era Part 9 - Akito Shukuri Route

Akito and Senri's story really breaks my heart, so seeing the young them hide from the villagers and Akito trying his best to protect Senri when he's just a kid too makes me want to cry. He was such a good brother but he just couldn't win against greedy, evil and terrible adults. The worst thing about it all is Akito is too kind. He considered the adults' desperate circumstances but they never thought about his or Senri's and that's the main reason I go f them. Even though Akito doesn't always show it, he always thinks about other people's feelings. What I love most about Akito will always be his love for Senri. He's willing to give everything for him to have a safe and happy life. He'd rather take on the burden of the powers even if it kills him just so Senri won't have to suffer. He's too kind and so resolute that it's amazing. I will always love the scene where Akito grabs Nanami's hand when she's falling because it's the first time they properly convey their true feelings properly to an extent, and you can see from Akito's perspective that they're both similar in that they both are willing to die for something "good" if it helps others because they hate themselves for what they did in the past.

LMAO Akito is so silly😂 He doesn't like Koharu because he doesn't know what to call her😂 Calling her first name is too much for him, adding san is too weird so he just avoids talking to her lmao😂 It's sweet to see Itsuki and everyone being so thoughtful and considerate towards Sakuya after Mikoto went missing, really goes to show how much everyone cares for the other. It was nice that the dream helped Akito realise how young Nanami was when she was forced to erase Senri's memories, and to finally realise how truly fragile and sensitive she was and still is. I remember really liking how protective Heishi is in this route and how he told off Akito for being so mean to Nanami all this time and I guess I just enjoy seeing Heishi's serious side. Thinking of regrets and pains of the past, Heishi is right that what you feel right now always feels stronger than the past, and that we have the future to look forward to. I'm not sure how much I look forward to the future but it is true that if you can make the person appreciate and love the present, the past won't feel as painful because you're there for them. Akito's conviction to stay beside her forever because she's scared that he'll leave her someday is so cute. I can see why Akito is scared that Nanami is only staying with him out of sympathy and guilt considering how she's been acting since the beginning though. They're still so cuteee though. It always breaks my heart to watch the moment Senri loses his memories of Akito because he's talking about him so happily, it just makes me cry. Senri and Akito didn't deserve to suffer like that😭 I loveee Akito's kisses, I find them so gentle and sweet, and full of love!

Kakeru is right, having Akito take care of meals definitely ups everyone's standards for a partner because dudee, Akito is so observant and considerate to make vegetable soup for Kakeru because he noticed he hasn't been feeling well and should have something light, like excuse me, where is this man in my life🤣 OMG, Akito blushing while saying he'll try to come home as fast as he can has got to be the most adorable thing everrr! Akito really is too kind. He's supporting Nanami, Senri, Koharu and the recovering Kakeru, but it's so him to do all that and think that it's to be expected. I feel sorry for Kakeru that he feels so guilty about hurting everyone when he was brainwashed when it's not his fault at all and no one really got hurt. It's funny how Akito and Senri so similarly lack social skills to the point that even Senri complains about him because he refuses to call him by name haha! Silly brothers. Akito shyly telling Nanami she doesn't need to feel jealous because he loves her is the cutest thing ever. The wooden box Senri carved for Akito is so exquisite and beautiful, I felt so touched for him. Akito crying from happiness is the sweetest, it makes me so happy for him. I honestly really enjoyed seeing Senri getting so mad when he thought Akito sold the box he made for him and I like how he confronted him about it, they really are progressing! Obviously it was to see if people would buy it so Senri could make a business out of it and give Senri confidence in his works. It really was great to see them communicate so much better, especially Akito. The way Akito so genuinely and unintentionally shows and tells Nanami how much he loves her makes my heart feel so satisfied. Akito doesn't need pretty words to win girls' hearts because his rough, honest and genuine words will always win Nanami's heart and everyone else's, guy or girl haha!

LMAO at Kagami saying Akito is going to transcend into a grandma at this rate because he cooks everything well, presents it well and even knits🤣🤣 Senri being good at craftwork because he used to make straw dolls and stuff to curse people is hilarious. I'm glad Akito stood up for Kakeru when they were contemplating why he left because he definitely did it because he thought it was time for him to find his own way in life, he's not the type to run away, although I do still feel sad for him that he was partnered with Koharu in this route but she chose Senri😭 I love how respectful Akito is, and how he really wanted to wait for Nanami to talk about what was bothering her herself but ended up asking her because he couldn't stand seeing her so distraught. I love the CG of Akito cradling Nanami in bed, it was so sweet and heartwarming how he reassured her that she didn't need to worry about her father and that they could always run away. When Akito said there's nothing more miserable than not being able to picture your own happiness, I wanted to cry because you could see how well he could bring happiness to Nanami, but at the same time I wanted to cry because I really don't know what the picture of happiness is for me anymore. It was unsurprising that her father and them would come when they're in a vertically secluded beach house but I didn't realise how much the Shiranui family wanted to get rid of her just in case she uses her powers against them. It seems like her father is genuinely concerned that Akito is only with Nanami for revenge but honestly, her relationship with her father is difficult to repair, but I'm glad Akito was able to voice to him that he loves Nanami and isn't with her for revenge, because as Nanami said, he's too kind to be thought of like that. The showdown with her father may have been anticlimactic but I'm glad it went much more amicably than expected. Even though I personally think there's no reason why they should push to get married especially considering Nanami is only like 16 but whatever floats their boat I guess. I mean, Akito is very straight-laced so I guess if she's living with him, he wants her to be his partner formally.

Lmao at Nanami telling Akito to not sweat the small stuff or he'll go bald🤣 Trust Nanami to have a dictionary as reading material🤣 It was so funny when Akito said she better not be looking at the world bald when she said she was looking at a word related to him😂😂 I find it so funny that Nanami is going through bridal training with Akito as her instructor🤣 I mean, he's definitely the best but it's so cute hahaha. I understand why Nanami wants to help out more and learn to cook for Akito but I also understand that Akito wants to spoil Nanami and doesn't want her to have to strain herself especially since she's not a morning person so making breakfast can be difficult. I gotta admire her dedication to stay up all night just so she can "wake up early" and make breakfast lol. LMAO, I knew the thing bothering Akito had to be some kind of bird customer but that Blue Bird costume was wild🤣 I love Nanami, it was so funny and cool of her to disagree that she's useless (even though she's been feeling inadequate) and then saying she wants to be worthy of Akito's love, the best part was when she shredded that 3 million yen made bird costume to protect Akito🤣🤣 I like how they both subvert the traditional masculine and feminine roles but try their best to "fit" them because they think that's what they should do but in the end, what's important isn't catering to gender roles but being happy doing what you want to do. I'm so glad Akito finally voiced to Nanami how important cooking at home was for him, because seeing her smile eating his food gives him so much joy and I can totally understand that, he used to love cooking for Senri because seeing Senri so happily eating his food made him happy. It's so sad that Akito and Senri have to separate so soon, but I'm really happy for Senri that he can study under a professional carpenter and have something he's passionate about so it's good and I'm sure Akito is happy for him. I'm also really happy for Nanami that herbs is actually what she wants to do for life so she wants to become an apothecary! Akito's initial reaction to it was hilarious though hahaha!

Overall, I really loved this sequel! I loved seeing Senri, Koharu, Akito and Nanami live together. It was so perfect having both couples grow together whilst both brothers awkwardly tried their best to interact with each other more and bond. The sweetest moment was definitely when Senri made that box for Akito (that he's going to take to the grave with him lmao) and then seeing Senri get mad when he thought Akito sold it. It made me so happy to see that other than the daily interactions, they also had special moments where they both expressed to each other how important the other was and how much they cherished the other's thoughts and consideration for them. Seeing them get this far really made my heart warm and I love how Koharu and Nanami helped support these awkward brothers the whole way. Dealing with Nanami's father was inevitable but I'd say that other than seeing how cool, sweet and thoughtful Akito was, I didn't really care for it, because as Nanami says, he's not really a part of her life anymore. Initially, I wasn't sure if I liked Sunburst especially with how Akito refused to tell Nanami anything etc, but I think I enjoyed it because of how things resolved. They don't fit into the traditional gender roles but they both tried their best to in their own silly ways so it was nice to see them realise that what's important isn't adhering to how society wants them to be, but to just be happy together living they want to live. I also liked how this time it was Akito who refused to talk rather than Nanami so it's cute to see how similar they can be when it comes to being considerate but also how forceful they can get when they want to support and protect their partner. I really loved watching over them grow as people and how much fun it was to have all four of them live together. This is probably one of my favourite routes just because I love Akito so much haha!

Honestly, if you've listened to the song Here by Alessia Cara, that's how I see Stina. Definitely not a party girl, prefers to be with close friends at one of their houses. But she'd definitely be downing the booze to get through it lol. I fele you portrayed this well, cause she's clearly tense around most of the other people. As the queen should be.

I love love love Marella and Stina's banter lol! The shortest and the tallest in the friend group, definitely makes for some awesome brutal insults.

The background Marellinh tension too is killing me I love it lol. And I love the Linh characterization. Cute and sweet, sure, but not a child and definitely not a cinnamon roll! Of course Stina loves his smile teeeheee (AHH THEY KISSED. To live in a time with Chappell Roan to spur this beautiful moment on)

Seeing them dancing together just reminds me I want a Stinitz scene set when Fitz dances with Sandor in the silver pants and Stina finds it possibly more unbearably attractive than any smile, cake, or cute little formal bow he does.

Awww I want to cry. Maruca drifting until she finally finds her one person, and Marella alone and scared of connection until Stina finally helps her realize she is worthy, no matter who abandoned her.

Linh and Tam finding solace in the friend group after a life of abandonment from their family. I swear, they consider the rest of the horse girls their adopted siblings lol. Or they were forcefully adopted by Stina haha

That moment when everything is more significant when its a couple you love. I know the crinkly smile is a trope lol but seeing Stina comment on the happy wrinkles on his face versus the perfect smile makes my heart melt. I'm so biased lol, I'll never take this ship objectively ever, they'll never be not perfect to me.

And those are the cutest nicknames ever lol. I noticed in the books that besides Keefe, Stina's really the only one who consistently uses nicknames, so of course she'd be immediately on board with calling him pastry boy. Its perfect. And sweet tart is so ironic cause Stina doesn't appear sweet but like its perfect for her when you look at her close relationships. And its just cute haha.

Meant those words as a friend PLEASE. She sounds like Adrien Agreste!

"She's just having fun grinding up against Fitz" "What, am I wrong?" Maruca being a challenging pestering best friend is completely necessary. Call her out Maruca, Stina needs it. Love that Tam just takes it in and joins in on the teasing, perfect characterization.

Summary: The romantic tension in the air is already thick enough between you and Levi but when he caught you at the orphanage, it may have opened his heart to you more.

It had been a peaceful afternoon, Levi and some of the scouts had decided to go visit Historia at the small orphanage she had opened up on a big spread of land.

You, however, were already there. You had been here since the early morning, helping with feeding the children and assisting with their needs to make sure everything was in order.

Growing up in a small poor family, you barely had much, didn’t have a lot of food in your stomach or any clothes to wear on your body, it was traumatizing.

You felt like you had to sit here and help these kids grow up to a better life, a better one than you. The young children didn’t deserve to grow up feeling alone and unwanted.

You had noticed that one of the young boys was very quiet, to himself and hardly ate. You can tell how afraid he was, afraid to do anything like he was going to get hurt again.

The pain in your heart increased, grabbing some snacks and making your way towards the room he stayed in the most, the small library. You took a seat beside him, setting the snacks on the table.

“Feel free to take anything you want,” You mumbled, smiling down at him and looking at the children’s book that laid out on the table.

“Can you read?” He shook his head no and you lifted up the book, opening it up.

“Do you want me to teach you?” He paused at first, his sad eyes meeting yours before he fully nodded his head.

Meanwhile Levi had walked along the property, watching some kids run around the land and he couldn’t help but wish this was around when he was a young boy.

“What are you doing here, Captain?” Historia noticed him observing everything as she walked up to him with a small child in her hands.

“Just wanted to visit the place, you’ve done well.” He admitted, making her smile at him.

“Thank you, actually- since you’re here I need a favor.”

“What is it?”

“There’s this kid, he kind of reminds me of you. All to himself, won’t talk, won’t eat. Maybe try to see if you can try to reason with him since you know,” Historia rambled on, not wanting to bring up Levi’s past in front of him but he caught on, nodding his head.

He would admit he wasn’t all that thrilled, he was convinced kids were scared of the stone cold look he had all the time but he decided to at least try for Historia.

His feet had walked inside the building, going down the hall and towards the room that she mentioned he was usually in the most. He tried to think of what to even tell a kid, just eat? Open up? He kept thinking to himself, calling himself dumb for overthinking.

As he opened up the door to the small library, his eyes instantly landed on you and the little boy Historia was talking about. You were teaching him how to read, sounding out the words for him and he even sat there and said a few words.

Levi’s heart had swelled up a bit at you, he didn’t expect to see you here and he didn’t expect you to be so involved with the orphanage. He was shocked and even then, it had made the feelings he had for you grow. The way you were reading the pages and you even got him to eat, to smile and speak back to you. The scene had made his day altogether.

You had noticed a presence, looking up and you saw Levi standing in the doorway.

“Oh hey, come here.” You insisted, tapping the table and Levi had walked over, sitting across from the both of you.

“You can continue, I didn’t mind to disturb you two.” He mumbled as you handed the book to the young boy while he took small bites from the fruit snacks you had brought him.

“No worries, it’s getting close to dinner time.” Just when you spoke, the bell on top of the orphanage had rung signaling that it was time for dinner and you watched the boy stand up and rush out the door.

Now it was just you and Levi in the library, his eyes moving to look up at you.

“I didn’t know you come here,”

“On my days off I do.” You nodded, chewing on your bottom lip before you stood up and collected the trash on the table, throwing it away.

“Can I tell you something?” Levi spoke up, making you turn your attention back to him and you nodded again.

“I grew up underground, like him. It was so bad that I was on the brink of death- from starvation, laying in the same room as my dead mother.” He admitted, he never told anyone the full story, never about his mother, never about what it was like.

People only ever knew that Levi grew up underground, that was it but as he sat there and told you the full story, the way he lived and the way he was raised into practically a killing machine, it made you sit there and become sad.

You can see why the little boy had reminded you of Levi, so quiet and so gentle but yet terrified of everything.

Your eyes had met with Levi’s, reaching over to grab a hold of his hand and he was taken back, he could feel the butterflies in his stomach just by your gentle touch but he remained quiet.

“I was thinking about something since I came here.” You broke the silence, sitting down beside him and you kept your hand in his.

“Yea? What’s that?”

“I want to adopt him, the young boy.” His eyes had widened for a moment, searching your eyes to see if you were serious and he could tell you were.

You couldn’t help the big soft spot you had for kids and hearing about the boy and hearing Levi’s past, it had you fully convinced that the boy deserved a much better life than the underground, better than being in an orphanage. You were set on it.

“I think that’s a good idea.”

His thumb traced over the back of your hand as you both sat there for a brief moment, enjoying the silence and each other’s company.

Synopsis: how some haikyuu boys sing to you while they’re just slightly drunk

Warnings: mentions of alcohol, some swearing probably, mention of a suggestive song (but nothing specific!). All characters in this fic are assumed to be of legal drinking age :)

Sugawara will literally sing to you anywhere anytime. Backup dancers no backup dancers, stage or no stage, drunk or not drunk. He is READY.

He’s definitely embarrassed you in the park before, singing to you at the top of his lungs some adorable little song that he’s now obsessed with. He has a really great voice but omg Suga please shush, people are staring at you.

But drunk Suga? Oh that boy is going to SERENADE the shit out of you. It probably won’t even be a romantic song to be honest. He’s probably singing some really suggestive song at you, winking with both eyes because he’s very tipsy (“m not drunk Daichi, I can totally handle another shot if you would jus gimme”).

He’s basically scream-singing because the music at the club is loud so it’s a lot of dance moves and hand gestures too. Tries to grind on you but again, had a few drinks, so he’s kinda just flopping around lol.

Has Daichi and Asahi singing backup for him even though Asahi doesn’t really know what the lyrics are so he’s just nodding and humming along (cut to his :O face when he realizes how suggestive the song is).

Ushijima doesn’t sing out loud in public sorry. But after a couple of shots that Tendo just keeps pouring for him, he’ll happily sit somewhere in the pub with you on his lap. His lips will continuously press kisses to your forehead and you can hear him softly hum or whisper the lyrics of the love song that just came on the speakers.

He’ll brush the hair away from your ear so he can continue softly humming to you with each kiss, smiling cause you’re so embarrassed but you’re also loving it??? And he loves you and just wants to tell you that. He might not be the greatest at words but this song seems to be lovely and has a good melody so he gonna at least hum it to you, singing out the parts that he really connects with.

You’re not even really sure if he remembers it in the morning cause you can’t really? tell? when he’s drunk? He becomes slightly more okay with PDA and his cheeks go a nice red but like tipsy vs drunk you got no clue.

But you catch him humming the song again later the next day and he catches your eye and gives you that smile again and like ugh butterflies.

Bokuto is has been preparing for this FOR AGES. He’s already thrown back a few shots but serenading you has been like a dream of his for AGES. So the shots are just adding to his confidence. Once they announce the start of karaoke, he is ALREADY on the stage.

Akaashi is ike sir please no just come back here and don’t embarrass us, but Bokuto is insistent because he is the best at everything so why would he not do it??

Gets on stage and picks some like very dramatic song, (if you’re a Brooklyn99 fan, imagine how Gina is dancing to Beautiful by Christina Aguilera to those teenagers cause that’s what I’m imagining rn lol) and at the beginning of the music, he just pulls the mic off of the stand like some cocky pop star, looks you dead in the eye and points at you saying, “This one is for you, hot stuff”.

You’re just hiding behind your fingers but like peeking through them because as entertaining as this is, you can also feel everyone staring at you and that is just a no thank you.

Akaashi is filming it and sends it to the group chat so everyone can laugh with him at how confident Bokuto is. But also like ??? Bokuto has a good voice and the team has only ever heard him singing in the locker rooms (but most of the time that’s like speak-singing? if that makes sense?) whereas right now he’s going full out because he loves you.

Kenma like Ushijima really doesn’t want to sing out in public. You might catch him humming along to his game’s music but karaoke? ya no sorry. Not unless it’s just the two of you in a private karaoke room, then maybe he’ll quietly sing along.

But the two of you are just chilling in a pub, watching some other volleyball players play a version of Never Have I Ever that’s about their volleyball teams (“Never has my teammates gotten a penalty for screaming at each other.” “Kuroo you ass.” “Not my fault, drink up Daichi, and all you Karasuno boys too.”)

Kenma had had a few drinks and was feeling pretty mellow. He felt like he could fall asleep right here with you in his arms but he was just nodding his head off to the music.

Then you started humming and quietly singing along to the music and he recognized it as something you had sung along to at home too. It gets to the part where the lyrics say something like “baby you’re everything to me”, and Kenma sings it with you.

You look up at him in surprise cause you honestly thought he was sleeping, but his eyes are wide open now, looking at you with literally all the love in the world.

Yamaguchi has literally the prettiest voice in the world and you cannot change my mind. He sings to you all the time at home, dancing with you in the kitchen while you’re trying not to burn dinner, or in the car while you two are singing at the tops of your lungs, but he’s never done it in public before. Cause that shit scary.

But after a few drinks warm his whole body, he’s smiling at you with closed eyes, swaying to the music.

“Are you okay, Yams?” You laugh, brushing your fingers through his hair and he just nods and holds your hand to his face while he half hums, half sings some of the lyrics to you.

“Holy shit, Yamaguchi can SING?” The Karasuno boys would go crazy. Cue Sugawara asking the owner of the establishment you guys are at to play a specific song he knows that Yamaguchi loves. All of them crowding around you guys like some acappella group, singing along with Yamaguchi.

You’re just like oh my god what is wrong with you all but like it’s the cutest thing ever. You filmed it. Posted it on your Insta.

Yamaguchi is famous now because girls are DYING over his voice and how he looks at you when he sings. He is very embarrassed but likes that you were so proud of him that you posted about him because this boi insecure please go love him the way he deserves.

When I think of Kageyama drunk, I’m thinking of his little dance before the meat BBQ scene at training camp LOL (note the gif above). This boy is dancing very awkwardly but he moving because he happy. But also like singing? Um no, he’s nervous thank you very much. He doesn’t really hum or sing in general so drunk Kageyama isn’t much different but if he hears you singing??? He starts giving you puppy eyes because he loves your voice so much. So you start singing to him and he’s nodding along with a little smile on his face. And then he starts singing too? At first it’s more like speak-singing but then he gets really into it (while also dancing very awkwardly) and he has???? such a nice??? voice???? like sir??? Why have you spent so much time yelling at Hinata when you could be singing?

He’ll like pinch your cheeks a little while he’s singing to you and is all red-faced because a) drunk and b) his inner self is like omg this is embarrassing please stop but he loves you so much he can’t help himself.

5. chapter 76 when beta comes into the dixon’s home and robin is hiding - this entire scene terrified me lmfao I was so scared for robin but also so proud of her for trying to be brave + dog getting injured to protect her :( was so glad when rosita came and saved her 🙏

Omg I love that scene too! I don't think anyone has ever mentioned it really, but I love it. It's the first time where we see someone hallucinating in the series, which has become a recurring theme lol. And it's the first time we "see" Aaron (tho at that point I still hadn't revealed who he was because I wanted to be sneaky lol). And I loved referencing that song We'll Meet Again. It's so haunting and yet so pretty. It fits with the whole series really well I think.

YEAH. Daryl being a daddy is the hottest cutest thing ever!! And now he's got two kids??? Double dilf.

Dude I reread that scene myself so much because I just love reader defending her family. I think she defends her family a lot in season 10 which is really sweet. I love how she brings Lydia into their family. Lydia deserved more screen time and more scenes that just show her with Daryl and being apart of the family. At least I get to include that in my story.

Right??? Like I said, I think we really see reader standing up for her family in season 10 which is awesome. I love when she is kinda saucy and sassy and doesn't take anyone's shit. She doesn't do it very often, but when she does, it's very satisfying I must say. I think she was just fed up with Carol's selfishness, and tbh, Daryl wasn't being great either. I had to write him as still helping Carol like he did in the show, but that meant for some strain in his relationship with reader in my series. But I mean, there's no such thing as a relationship that doesn't have its ups and downs so I think it worked out.

Oh I reread that scene all the time too! Robin is so cute and brave. I loved writing in that little scene. And Dog... my heart. I just love the implication that Daryl has Dog trained to protect Robin and reader too lol. You know he absolutely would do something like that.

Stuff about Great Ace Attorney that stood out to me

So I just finished both great ace attorney games and just had to gush about it. Will contain spoilers as I write random thoughts throughout the entire game, including things related to the final case. I’m serious. You will miss out on some pretty epic reveals that are so much better being experienced yourself so please only read once you’ve completed the entire game.

-Ryunosuke’s darting eyes and cute table slams and stuttering his words slowly transitioning to confidence was so smooth throughout the two games.

-When Kazuma did his first table slam I was like: “DAMN SON that’s hot”

- I was jumping in my seat when I realized there was an investigation with Yuujin and Herlock. And the TAP DANCING. Gosh I love this game.

- I found it so hilarious whenever Barok Van Zieks was determined to ignore Ryunosuke, but then Ryunosuke would inadvertently insult him and he’d be forced to speak up to defend himself. 

-Enjoyed the english dub, especially on that reunion scene where Kazuma is revealed to be alive.

-Herlock being a dumbass and nearly killing all of them by mistaking a time bomb for an anti-gravity device. My reaction to him was the exact same as Gregon’s. *glare*

- omg when Iris finally calls Herlock “daddy” was the cutest moment ever. Happy for Herlock.

-SHAMSPEARE WAS SO ANNOYING OMG

- they are so fricking lucky that the “SHOLMES” number combination puzzle still worked with the localization for opening Jigoku’s suitcase haha.

- ALL OF KAZUMA’S THEME SONGS. Literally even his prosecutor theme is so great and when you first hear it you’re like, oh shit we’re actually going against him, but then you hear the familiar theme and you carefully look at his actions, you realize he still sees you as his best friend, but his mind is just so overtaken by revenge.

- Also loved the Pursuit theme for this game. Other songs that stood out were Edoch Drebber’s theme and Susato’s theme.

-Kazuma’s...white....skin-tight...outfit... Also I noticed his hair got slightly longer haha.

- I loved how extra all of Barok’s animations were. Speaking of animations, why were Edoch Drebber’s animations so frickin satisfying to watch. Like seriously especially the one with the smirk, I can look at it forever.

- Found it really interesting how different it felt going against the three prosecutors, Auchi, Barok, then Kazuma. With Auchi, it was like, super easy to make him flustered and feel like you’re winning. He was stuck-up and prideful and not willing to admit he was wrong when he so obviously is. With Barok, it felt like going against a metal wall. Like, it wasn’t even that he was stubborn (in fact, if he saw merit in your argument, he’d go along with you), he was just flawless in finding kinks in your arguments and shutting them down professionally and efficiently. With Kazuma, he had the sharpness of Barok but not the professionalism (makes sense as Barok has way more experience) and there was an emotional side to it since he’s your best friend who supported you so much in the first case.

- knowing Kazuma’s true goal now, I wondering if he was serious in case 1-1 when he said “if I fail to defend Ryu then I don’t deserve to go to Britain”. He wouldn’t lie about something like that, so either he was 100% sure he would win (which I'm not sure he would’ve as the lawyer since he faltered during one of Jezaille’s testimonies, and it was Ryu that found the contradiction), or Ryu really meant so much to him that he’d truly meant what he said and would give up on finding the truth about his father due to how disappointed he’d be in himself?

- I was reading about people saying Case 2-4 and 2-5 were Kazuma and Ryu’s “divorce arc” and I was so scared for the angst but once I actually played, I realized that Kazuma’s malice is never directed at Ryu, despite him defending Barok. On the contrary, he wanted Ryu to be at this trial to see it through with him to the end because he knew it was going to be too painful to travel this road by himself. And gosh I loved that speech where Ryu helped Kazuma see that hate was clouding his judgement. Yes Kazuma is so different compared to case 1, but once you understand his mindset for the past ten years, I think the way he acted towards everyone makes sense.

- I also laughed so hard in one of the final scenes, right after the trial with eveyone in the defense antechamber and Susato was like: wait til you see the smile on Barok Van Ziek’s face. And he just suddenly appears with the biggest frown on his face. Then later Susato was like: If Kazuma saw you now he’d have the biggest smile. Then Kazuma suddenly appears with the biggest frown on his face. I don’t know why, maybe it was just how suddenly they appeared that made me laugh.

- so much pain in case 5. I actually cried when Klint Van Zieks was reading out his confession letter. Probably was because of all the build up leading up to it. Genshin, Kazuma, Barok, Klint, Ginny, Gregson, Yuujin... so many people were pushed to their breaking point.

- I found it amusing to see the different art styles of the different artists working on the game through the character profile icons.

- loved the bittersweet, but mostly sweet, ending where they separate but promise to meet again soon.
