The sonic movies were made by people who were afraid of what sonic is. The copaganda is potent in the movies, I feel like it's a purposeful reaction to drown out sonic's themes of rebellion, expression, and freedom. Does this make sense?

#you look at that first movie #especially its original trailer #and tell me that movie was made by people who actually cared about sonic is #the cop dad feels like a instinctual insert to kill off the theme of rebellion that sonic carries #sonic becoming 'a hero' feels like a way to push institutional authority #like its saying dont do good that goes against the powers that be you have to work with the corrupt systems and make them better #the nail in the coffin to me is how the gun soldiers didnt intentionally kill maria #the authority has taken sonic and killed his rebellion now he represents a tool of the system who only get to run as far as the leash allows #the cop dad feels like a way to tie sonic to the nuclear family as well #im not even much into sonic and just feel like the movies are providing a purposly misrepresentstion of what sonic represents #i dont know the curnle of this idea is in my mind but i just dont know how to properly back it up
