the “dressing for the male gaze” vs “dressing for the female gaze” trend is so fucking stupid because it completely misses the point of the whole concept (so sorry laura sweety), and it’s just one more narcissistic attempt at using performative feminism to show how quirky and fashionable they are, unlike the other basic girls who dress for male attention. I’m sorry honey but there is not such thing as dressing for the female gaze! because there is no such thing as the female fashion agreement! our vaginas do not connect us in a unified brain that determines that colorful thrifted vintage clothes are peak female subjectivity. Get over yourself and try to understand the concept before using them as buzzwords for your viral content!
