And with that, it was FINALLY time for the Valice Vow Renewal, followed immediately by the Van Alton Wedding! :D :D :D With me having Smiler (for Victor and Alice) and Alice (for Victor and Smiler) take a whole bunch of in-game pictures at different sizes for them to enjoy later. :) Some of the Valice Vow Renewal shots were a little iffy -- Smiler got one shot early on where the pair looked a bit more "constipated" than "happy" -- and I wouldn't have chosen THAT shot for Alice putting the ring on Victor myself, but overall they came out well. I was especially pleased that Smiler got that shot of them kissing as the confetti came down over them. <3 The Van Alton Wedding part went a little more smoothly -- I had to reposition Alice once to stop her being completely in Victor and Smiler's personal space, and I chose not to capture Smiler putting their ring on Victor with Alice's camera so I could get my own screenshot of it instead (and stop Alice from potentially wandering off anywhere, because even turning off free will doesn't always stop that), but other than that, got some lovely shots of Victor and Smiler looking very handsome and very happy indeed in their tuxes. Including the big wedding kiss. :) Now THOSE are some pictures for their wall at home!
And then, with the two ceremonies completed, it was time for the reception! Alice set out the cake and filled up the buffet with a variety of treats for the guests to sample -- though, for some bizarre reason, she couldn't put sparkling apple juice in the punch fountain. Smiler had to do that because pouring sparkling apple juice apparently requires one to have Mixology skill 3. O.o Ooookay game. . .anyway, Victor claimed the first slice of wedding cake (without any attendant cuteness with Smiler, sadly -- I guess the game finally remembered that Smiler can't eat most human food), and Alice poured herself a glass of nectar at the bar that was promptly claimed by Rory instead. XD I mean, I'M not going to argue with the werewolf! From there, people began either settling in with food and drink or wandering around between tables to socialize (or both). Victor and Alice hung out at the "head table" for a bit, talking to Rory, while Smiler took over the bar at the back and poured some drinks for themselves and Clement Frost...

katsuki bakugo x gn!reader
fluff/one shot
a/n ~ ignore the feet in the banner, it was not meant to be there but it's okay because i found a use for it. i love bakugo but i almost forgot his birthday, i only remembered because of a tumblr post. :p
bakugo was a man who was simple to please. he didn't ask for much, hell if he could he wouldn't ask for a single thing from you. it was normal for him to spoil you and shower you in affection, but this was one of the very few days in the year that you could take the wheel. you wanted to go all out, sparkles, magic, confetti. it had to be a big shebang.
but realistically all that wasn't gonna happen, bakugo would rather die on the spot then go through with your scheme that was more than just grand. still, one of the greatest heroes in japan was your beloved boyfriend and he deserved more than a couple of words and a slice of cake. you just wanted to put a dumb smile on his dumb face. the same way he does for you.
heroes don't get days off for their birthday so bakugo still had to patrol around the city until noon. you were sure that put him at ease, he doesn't like sitting around doing nothing and you needed him out of the house so that you could put your elaborate plan into action. you messaged him to meet you at the top of the hill located in a field nearby after he was finished with his patrol. it was the hotspot to view cherry blossoms.
you grabbed a picnic basket, filling it with plates, cutlery, napkins and drinks. behind you was a pot of boiling water cooking up a portion of your handmade ramen noodles. bakugo always told you off for eating junk in stupid amounts, only because he cared about your health. but he was no downer, he knew how to enjoy a good spicy cup ramen after a long shitty day.
it was his favourite food, you found that out a few months into your relationship. you were no chef like bakugo but your homemade spicy ramen was your signature masterpiece, though you only perfected it to impress bakugo. it was a house favourite amongst the two of you and also the dish your friends would look forward to when a potluck was being held.
the sauce was made with a beef broth and real chillies that your boyfriend grew on the balcony, he saw them as his 'precious' babies. second to you of course. you made sure to add some leafy greens, meat and an egg. the perfect ramen combo. you poured a handful of sesame seeds into a little container and wrapped the dinner up before gently placing it into the basket.
but it wasn't just going to be a birthday picnic. it had to have a bang to it, that was what was gonna make it memorable. a night that bakugo could recall and smile about, remembering how big your love is for him. an assistant. you need an assistant. and you knew exactly who to call upon.
as the afternoon sun started to lower in the blue horizon, you made your way to the hill. the april breeze flew through your hair, freshening you up. you were a little nervous, unsure that your plan would go off without a hitch. it wasn't just the plan but his presence in general. even after being with bakugo for so long you still got shy around him during dates, as if you were a teenager again.
you set the blanket on the grass under a cherry blossom tree with an open view to the sunset. trees surrounded the hill and it felt like a magical fairy forest. rustles and footsteps startled you, throwing your head back to see what the noise was about. his silhouette emerged from behind the bushes. a messy blond still in his hero suit.
"hey baby, i missed you! how was your patrol?" you ran towards him and his arms opened up ready to hold you tightly into his chest.
" 'm was good, tired as hell though. what's all this?" he wrapped his arms around your waist and pressed a kiss on your forehead.
"your birthday dinner, so c'mon lets sit and eat. it's your favourite."
"spicy ramen? your homemade one?" he was drooling, like when dogs get even a whiff of a bone.
"yes, yes, homemade with meat, eggs and veggies." you took his hand and guided him to the meal, settling him down with a drink. a serving of spicy ramen for the birthday boy was placed infront of him as well as a pair of chopsticks. the two of you slurped down the noodles as the sun disappeared to make room for the moon. the sounds of full tummies and content souls filled the evening with serenading melodies.
his hand crawled into yours as both of you faced the midnight blue sky. the april wind blew cherry blossoms around your picnic blanket, a few falling into your hair. so peaceful and quiet. but it wasn't lonely, no, you never felt lonely. how could you feel that way when you had the most amazing lover sat right next to you, hand in hand.
your hand trailed to your phone, sending a 'go' to your assistant. you pulled your hand away, bakugo groaning as you do so. the basket is reopened again and you take out a cupcake with a candle on it. it wasn't just any candle, it was a '1' candle.
"i didn't make the cake this year, but it's still a good cake i promise!" you present it to him and he lights up, stars glistening behind his rouge eyes.
"what's the '1' for?" he points at the orange candle.
"you don't know?" you smile at him gently, placing a hand on his thigh.
"no, so spill. it's a birthday command."
"it's a wish not a command you dummy. i chose this candle because it represents something i believe in."
"stop beatin' around the bush."
"it's a '1' because you're my number one hero bakugo. so, happy birthday love."
they set off as you said those very words. bright and bold fireworks, blooming and popping in the space between where the sun was earlier. you could see it from miles away. beautiful flower like lights that shimmered throughout the heavens. that night really ended with a bang.
"you can thank izuku later for helping me out, kacchan~"
"over my fucking dead body. but yeah thanks for all this, didn't need to but i appreciate it." he leans over to kiss you cheek, his face very clearly flustered with a pink taint.
"light the candle and make a wish!"

WISH COME TRUE

Note: What is there to say but… HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAMI!!!
Summary: Birthday wishes might be overrated but not when they are made to come true.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAMI!!!”
The whole crew greeted in unison the moment the orange-haired navigator stepped inside the decorated galley—in the midst of popping confetti, clapping and shouting.
Their voices were surprisingly in sync and Nami wondered if they practiced the greeting days before her birthday or they were just that enthusiastic.
“Ah! Minna! Thank you!” She gushed as she looked at the happy, grinning faces of her crewmates and her own smile widened some more.
The room was filled with balloons in different colors of orange, white and silver. Some were floating up the ceiling with glittering streamers hanging down from them. Others were scattered all over the galley floor. There were letter balloons at the far end of the room with the words HAPPY BIRTHDAY spelled out.
The Straw Hats went all out with the decorating and Nami can’t help but be pleased.
“You guys… this is wonderful!” She exclaimed as a whirl of hearts appeared suddenly in front of her.
“Nami-swan! Happy birthday!” Sanji stopped twirling and dropped down on one knee in front of the mapmaker. He held her hand in his, bowing slightly before planting a kiss on it. “Your birthday feast is ready my sweet mellorine!”
“Arigatou, Sanji-kun!” Nami glanced at the table, filled with delicious food and desserts, with a beautifully made three-tier cake in the middle, complete with sparklers.  “Everything looks amazing!”
“Anything for you my love!” The blond cook sang and froze in happiness when Nami blew him a kiss.
“Nami! Happy birthday!” Chopper cheerily approached her and took her other hand, tugging her towards the direction of the table. They left Sanji, still frozen and kneeling down on one knee.
“Thank you Chopper!” She lifted him up and kissed his cheek. Chopper blushed and giggled and pointed towards the cake. “Time to blow the candles and make a wish.”
“Yeah!” Luffy shouted, eyes sparkling from too much excitement at the food in front of him. “Come on Nami hurry, hurry!”
Nami just chuckled at her captain’s impatience. Normally that would earn him a knuckle on the head but since this day is special… she decided to just let it go.
“Alright. Alright!” She said as she approached the table. She smiled at Robin, Franky and Brook as they all greeted her before marveling at the astounding cake in front of her.
“Wow!” She breathed out.
“Make a wish Nami!” Chopper said as he jumped on the empty dining chair to get a good view when she finally blew the candles out.
“Faster witch,” Zoro drawled on her other side. He was sitting on the chair on her left, already enjoying a tankard of his favorite alcohol. “Luffy’s about to turn rabid from hunger.”
She narrowed her eyes at him yet he only smirked at her, muttering a ‘happy birthday’ before taking a drink from his mug as Luffy chanted ‘meshi! meshi!’ in the background.
“Come on birthday girl!” Usopp coerced her. “Make a wish and then blow the candles!”
“Oi you idiots! Don’t rush Nami-san!” Sanji bellowed as he finally recovered from Nami’s earlier blown kiss.
“It’s alright Sanji-kun!” Nami’s smile at him was enough to stop the chef in his tracks as hearts started popping out from him. She closed her eyes, silently making some wishes from her heart, before taking a deep breath and blowing the cake’s candles so they can start the celebration.
Cheers broke out when she was able to blow them all in one go. Chopper was elatedly announcing how her wish will come true because of that.
Nami certainly hope so.
“Well what are we waiting for?” Usopp hollered as Sanji took her hand again to guide her to the seat at the head of the table—something Luffy graciously gave up for Nami’s special day (with some cajoling and promises of meat).
“It’s time to celebrate Nami’s birthday!!!”
-------------------------
“Gimme.”
Zoro paused in the middle of bringing his mug to his lips when Nami held out her hand to him, her palm facing upward.
“What?” He cocked an eyebrow at her.
Nami thrust her hand closer to his face, her fingers moving in a give me motion.
Zoro just continued looking at her blankly.
She made a face at him. “Gosh Zoro. Even Luffy has given me something for my birthday.”
“Tch.”
Nami sighed, resting both hands on her hips. No use teasing this surly swordsman if he have a birthday present for her.
Because the answer’s most likely no.
Well she was expecting it. But of course that doesn’t mean she wasn’t disappointed.
She just decided to shove that thought down the deepest recesses of her mind and just enjoy her birthday celebration.
“You going anywhere tomorrow?” Zoro suddenly asked just when she was about to turn her back on him.
“Huh?” She blinked curiously at him. “Why?”
Zoro regarded her for a moment. “Let’s go somewhere.”
Nami’s ears perked up at that and her eyes widened. Go somewhere?
Did he just… did he mean…
“Where?” She inquired almost breathlessly, her heart racing.
Zoro smirked. “You’ll find out tomorrow.” He stood up and made a grab for the bottle half-filled with sake. “Happy Birthday Nami.” With that he moved to exit the galley to head to the nest for his watch, leaving her dumbfounded.
Honestly… did he just like… ask her out?
Seems like one of her birthday wishes will come true after all.
-------------------------
“So where are we going?”
That was the first thing Nami asked Zoro when they met each other on the deck the next morning after breakfast.
“Didn’t Robin tell you?” The swordsman frowned at her.
“Robin?”
“Yeah. Robin’s coming with us.”
“Oh.” Nami blinked. Robin’s coming with them? The archaeologist didn’t mention anything about that last night before they went to bed.
Yet she nodded to show her agreement and understanding… even if she doesn’t really get it.
“Don’t worry, you’ll like it,” Zoro assured her, when he saw her doubtful expression. “Just don’t wear any of those pointy shoes you fancy.”
Nami stared hard at him. She shouldn’t wear pointy shoes? Does he mean high heels?
Why? Where are they going?
“Ara… are you two ready?” Robin’s soft voice put a stop to their conversation. The raven-haired beauty was walking towards them, dressed in her hiking gear.
Nami looked at Zoro inquisitively who just nodded at her. “We’ll go once Nami’s ready.” Then he walked away from her and headed towards the boy’s quarters… probably to change as well.
“Not a problem,” Robin smiled at him then at Nami.
“Oi!!! Luffy suddenly shouted as he bounded across the lawn, full of energy, with his adventure backpack already on his back. “Let’s get going! Sanji! Where’s our bento?!”
“Damn it aho sencho!” The blond cook shouted from the galley. “Can you just wait?!”
“Are you still not ready Nami?” Usopp walked past her, eyeing her up and down as he adjusted the straps of his own backpack.
“Ok wait.” Nami held up a hand in a stopping motion. Everyone is in their hiking-slash-explorer apparels. “What is happening? Are we all going?”
“Of course!” Luffy said, pumping both arms up in the air. “It’s an adventure!”
“Definitely!” Usopp frowned at her, offended that she sound disappointed that they will be joining them.
Nami mirrored his expression. “But…”
Usopp raised an eyebrow at her. “What? Wait don’t tell me you think this is gonna be just you and Zoro?”
“No!” Nami growled under her breath, inwardly horrified that Usopp somehow sensed that. “Where did that even come from?!”
How in the world did they all know about today? She was pretty sure she was the only one Zoro asked last night.
The grin that appeared on Usopp’s face was evil. “Oh. You do think it’s just gonna be the two of you?”
“WHAT?!”
“Oooh… I did hear him tell you.” the sharpshooter cooed as her face turned red. “But Robin also told us last night that we’ll all be heading somewhere today.”
Nami’s frown deepened at that. So… they weren’t actually going to be alone today. She honestly thought that was the case.
Because as far as she knows… she was the only one he asked.
Well… it wasn’t though.
Nami shoulders slumped dejectedly. This is Zoro they’re talking about. There is a much better chance of trying to shoot at the moon and hitting it. “I’ll just go and get changed so we can head out to wherever we are going.” She mumbled glumly.
So much for one of her birthday wishes coming true.
-------------------------
“Where are we heading?” Nami muttered under her breath as she trudged along the dense jungle trail, shoving away the enormous plant leaves that were blocking their path.
She had been rather excited about today last night. Right after Zoro told her they were going somewhere.
They. Them and their crew.
She pouted as felt annoyance stirring up inside her. She felt rather cheated. Not to mention, they had been hiking for about an hour now and she was getting tired. Robin has kept mum about where they were going. The same goes for Zoro, who was already a closemouthed person to begin with.
Between Luffy’s constant hollering, Usopp complaining, Chopper getting excited with all the plant life growing along the trail, Zoro and Sanji’s bickering every ten minutes and this excursion turning out to be one big of a disappointing trip… she was about to reach her breaking point.
“Are you ok Nami?”
Robin had stopped walking to wait for her, with a gentle smile gracing her lips. But Nami can see how brightly her usually cool blue eyes were shining from excitement.
Wherever they are heading… Robin’s eager to get to it as fast as possible.
But she still doesn’t get it why Zoro asked her last night. Robin could’ve just told her that she was planning on a hiking trip to the jungle… just right after her birthday.
“Where are we going Robin?” Nami can’t stop herself from asking. She watched as the boys continued moving forward, noisy as ever. She wouldn’t be surprised if they provoked whatever animals are lurking in this place because of racket they are making.
Good thing Franky and Brook decided to stay behind… or it’ll be much noisier.
“Are you alright?” Robin inquired again. “Just a few more kilometers and we’ll be there.”
“Where and what is there?”
“Something that you like.”
Nami looked startled at that. Then she narrowed her eyes at her friend. “You know Zoro said the same thing.”
Robin chuckled.
“Robin come on! Spill! Tell me something!” Nami whined.
The older woman just smiled at her. “Let’s go before the boys take a wrong turn or lose Zoro.”
“Just let him get lost. We have Chopper. We’ll find him later.” Nami huffed as she followed Robin who had resumed trekking.
“That would be a shame.”
“Why?!”
Robin glanced behind her mischievously. “Wherever we are going… Zoro has something for you there.”
That made Nami stop in her tracks.
Zoro has something for her?
Robin chuckled again as she watched Nami’s eyes widened.
“Let’s get going shall we Nami?”
This time the navigator followed her almost immediately in stunned silence.
Is that why Zoro told her they were going somewhere today? Because he actually has something for her?
Her birthday present?
Nami fought the smile that was threatening to appear on her lips. Robin’s sharp eyes might notice that she is excited about this.
A few more minutes of marching along the trail and Nami can’t help but ask.
“What does he have for me anyway? And why is it inside this jungle?” Nami muttered darkly. She was excited at the thought of getting a gift from the ever-stoic swordsman but seriously, this non-stop hiking is slowly dampening her enthusiasm.
Robin glanced back at her amusedly. “It’s a actually surprise. You don’t like surprises?”
“From Zoro?” Nami blinked at that. “That thought is already a surprise in itself. Seriously, I don’t think he’s capable of doing anything like this.” She glared at the idiot mosshead who were walking a few feet ahead of them. “Besides what kind of surprise is this that you have to exert so much effort to get it?”
The archaeologist giggled at her impatience. “Well to be honest, with a right push he is capable of anything. Give our swordsman some credit. Besides… as I have said you will like it.”
Nami buried to her side. “You’re behind this?”
“Hmm… yes and no.”
“Robin! Stop teasing me!”
Robin turned to her and smiled that certain mysterious smile of hers.
“Let’s just say, Zoro stumbled upon something in this place.”
“You mean he got lost again and accidentally found something here right?”
“Fufufu… yes.”
Nami pondered at the information she had been given. What is in this place that she likes?
Based on all the green foliage around her… there is nothing here that piques her interest.
So what the hell?
She glanced at Robin who had an almost serene expression on her face. Yet she was moving a bit faster than before. The boys had already disappeared from their sight. A few seconds passed and there were a lot of shouting and yelling ahead of them.
Robin motioned for her to pick up her pace. Ahead of them, multiple hands bloomed to part the gigantic leaves and branches that were blocking their path so they can easily make their way through it.
“Zoro accidentally found this place,” Robin explained. “And I stumbled across him here while I was out exploring yesterday.”
They reached the end of the trail. And Nami stared in awe at the scene before her.
A few feet ahead of them were ancient stone ruins of what could be a palace or a temple.
“Isn’t it beautiful?” Robin murmured as she made her way towards the place.
The boys have now wandered off to explore the place. Nami can hear their excited voices echoing along the vast abandoned site.
But this is something that Robin likes… not her. She couldn’t understand what’s in it that both Zoro and Robin think she’ll like.
Robin approached Zoro who was standing before a rather large boulder that was blocking the entrance towards what Nami could make out as a stone chamber.
She slowly followed her and watched as Zoro drew out one of his katanas and effortlessly sliced the boulder into pieces. He kicked off some of the rubbles, clearing the area as Robin beckoned for Nami to come closer.
Nami could make out a hole on the ground. Her questioning gaze met Robin’s and the older woman just smiled at her.
“Happy birthday again Nami.” And with that she left Zoro and her alone as she headed towards the now accessible chamber to explore what was inside.
Zoro was dusting his hands on his pants. “Let’s go.” He said.
“Go where?”
He pointed to the rather large hole on the ground.
Nami stared at him with wide eyes. It was then that she realized that the boulder earlier was meant to cover the hole rather than block the chamber’s entrance.
“Nuh-uh.” She stubbornly folded her arms across her chest. “I don’t like gaping dark holes that looks like it’s gonna swallow you and make you disappear to oblivion.”
Zoro chuckled at her reaction. “Don’t be such a chicken Nami. You’ll like what’s down there.”
“Why is your gift for me down there?”
He frowned. “Robin told you?”
“Yeah.”
He scratched the back of his head.
“It better be not the entrance to hell Zoro!”
“If it is then I would be dragging you to it! Not asking you to jump down with me!”
“Do you need any help?” Robin’s voice suddenly spoke out of nowhere, interrupting their brewing verbal battle. A hand had bloomed out from one of the stone columns surrounding them, unsurprisingly with a mouth on it.
“Nah I got this.” Zoro replied, scooping Nami into his arms suddenly.
“Zoro!!!”
With a shark-like grin, he leapt down the hole.
Nami screamed bloody murder at his ear, her arms clinging around his neck as hard as she could to the point of almost choking him.
They hit the ground not shortly after. And Nami’s screamed was suddenly brought to a halt. She realized it wasn’t the hole wasn’t as deep as she initially thought it was.
But it was still dark… and scary. And her heart was still racing and thudding against her chest.
If this is Zoro’s gift for her… she would maim him with his own swords once they get back to the Sunny.
Zoro set her down to her feet. But Nami did not remove her arms around his neck and clung tighter even as she glared at him in the dark.
She can hear him chuckling at her expense; feel him reaching down his pocket to pull something out.
There was a flicking sound and light suddenly filled the room. Zoro was grinning down at her, holding a lighter that he probably snagged from Sanji-kun’s collection.
“Happy Birthday Nami.”
And as the light slowly lit the room and bounced against some reflective surfaces, so did Nami’s eyes as it widened with the realization of what was really Zoro’s birthday present for her.
He had stumbled upon a chamber in the ruins filled with treasure.
And it was all for her.
Zoro just made some of her birthday wishes come true.

regent’s open air theatre LSOH (2018) breakdown
act two. continuing on from [this post about act one!]
after the intermission they went back into mushnik’s for ‘call back in the morning’ which featured the ensemble in the number with a bunch of telephones kind of tangling/tying up audrey and seymour with them, but by the end they’d all been disentangled - it looked so chaotic i was so impressed with how well organised it was to free them by the end of the song :’) found a backstage clip showing some ensemble members from this scene:
Tumblr media
then it was time for more heartbreak!!! the scene where seymour shows audrey his leather jacket. i kinda loved the jacket itself tbh, it had all this fringe on the back and sleeves (which was another visual call to audrey ii in drag queen form, who wears a jacket with chain “fringe” on the sleeves) and there was a rhinestone plant and ‘seymour’ written in rhinestones. but of course audrey is horrified and backed herself up against the wall and started crying and after seymour threw the jacket away they go into suddenly seymour which was done quite sweetly - seymour handed her his ‘kleenex’ (but it was a wet wipe because she actually did take off her lipstick with it)
Tumblr media
ALSO notably there to cast a sinister light on the emotional moment - the mushnik’s shop rotates to reveal the audrey ii plant, which was grinning behind audrey and seymour as they hug at the end of the song. LOVED THIS extremely ominous the fact that the plant was smiling evilly behind them was just chef’s kiss things are about to go horribly wrong.
Tumblr media
but anyway. now that seymour and audrey are ‘official’ they kiss!!! kind of. it was more like… seymour leaned in and kissed her nose and then sort of…slid his face down kind of towards her mouth??? it was so awkward but...v cute :’)
and of course now that we’re in act ii things are going a little worse and it’s definitely showing on seymour, who has not been beaming nearly so much and looks pretty stressed out and upset a lot of the time. by suppertime he’s freaking out and looks genuinely so mad and angry with himself when mushnik gets eaten by the plant: which was done by having the plant mouth open, mushnik step inside, and then drag queen audrey ii step up behind and attack while vines close in, and then the mouth closes up:
Tumblr media
i think... there was more of audrey ii trying to be flirtatious with seymour either before or after this, but he is much more disgusted by it and doesn’t have to try to snap himself out of it:
Tumblr media
(note by this point audrey ii’s wig no longer resembles OG audrey’s, and by now seymour hates her guts.) this continues into ‘the meek shall inherit’ and i loved the staging of this one because the ensemble are still in black-and-white but now wearing these pink-green gloves with pointy ends (so they look like audrey ii’s vines) and they had vines extending out from the scenery/props too, all closing in on seymour who’s freaking out even more.
Tumblr media
in this one matt willis made multiple quick changes to play all the different characters trying to buy seymour/the plant, and he was brill each time (this wasn’t all of the looks but it was all i could find from the show trailer:)
Tumblr media
oh, and when it came to the “then there’s audrey” part of the song, seymour takes the kleenex from suddenly seymour out of his pocket.
so seymour plots to try and kill audrey ii by grabbing a bunch of weapons (and tying a green rambo-style headband around his head) but before he can get to it audrey comes in with her seymour-costume!!! (she was even shorter next to seymour then because she was wearing converse instead of heels) and argghhh it was just so cute!!! and the sweater she put on was the one she had to come back for during ‘feed me’ which was a cute touch.
Tumblr media
(i could only find a design sketch for the main actress in that costume, but did also find her understudy rosalind james in the same outfit.) then... sadness again though because then they go into the ‘would you still like me/i’d still love you’ scene. ‘somewhere that’s green’ plays instrumental while seymour promises he’ll find them a better life. they do their adorable little awkward kiss again and then audrey leaves.
heading toward the end then into suppertime reprise/sominex, and then the confrontation… the whole time me knowing what’s coming i was just like audrey don’t but then of course…audrey does. (also she had another costume change, this time into a half-blue-half-pink nightdress with a transparent pink raincoat on top.)
Tumblr media
she steps into the plant ‘mouth’ and audrey ii bites her neck vampire style (so there’s no doubt that she has been wounded, no “she just fell asleep because of the sominex” theory here,) before seymour can get her out.
Tumblr media
somewhere that’s green reprise of course i was crying again – the actress kind of played the ‘when i die, which should be very shortly’ line for funnies rather than sincerely BUT. then she went into the reprise and ohhh my god i was so sad watching seymour hold her. i noticed they never really properly kissed on the mouth (because seymour’s bad at kissing) but he was really desperately hugging her and shaking and kissing her all over on her shoulders and her hands and it was DEVASTATING.
Tumblr media
after audrey dies seymour kept crying her name which was…i thought a bit much but sure, why not. he was sad. then he carried her to the plant and she stood up and walked backwards so they were looking at each other as she went into the plant’s “mouth” and he held onto her hands as long as he could. (this time there were no vines and the drag queen version of audrey ii wasn’t there either so it was more of an emotional parting than watching a violent/comical death.)
after that seymour tries to kill the plant (drag queen audrey ii was standing above, on top of the mushnik store prop) so he shot at her first with his halloween prop gun and then tossed the boxes of rat poison into the plant mouth, and then of course charged into the mouth and the vines are back and grab and crush him and then he’s dead. RIP that silly fool who i loved.
Tumblr media
then it’s don’t feed the plants! the urchins come out and are wearing new outfits and open the number…
Tumblr media
then there was the ‘characters come back onstage as plant buds’ version of the ending, but oh my god. this was so much fun i loved it so much. mushnik, orin, audrey and seymour dash out of the plant opening wearing audrey ii-ified costumes and!!! it was amazing. mushnik was in a sparkly green sequin jacket and kilt, orin was wearing his black combat boots  and a sequin minidress, audrey was wearing a big poofy 1950s-ish (you know, because of her somewhere thats green dreams) pink-and-blue dress with flowers and little white gloves (and still her glasses) (and i remember as she ran out on stage she mouthed WHAT THE FUCK lmao) and seymour’s was this big puffy clown suit (probably because…he’s kind of a fool) over his blue shirt (now with sparkly red blood on it, implying that his arms/legs have been eaten) and all the ensemble also had similar crazy plant looks, very flytrap with a lot of teeth and big floppy tongues.

seymour and audrey had the little ‘we’ll have tomorrow’ line too which made my LSOH-obsessed ass get tearful again too - they grabbed each others hands for it and !!! my emotions.
there were a few bows after that but then audrey ii interrupted and was like wait we ain’t finished!!! and they did mean green mother from outer space as this huge dance number which was extremely fun. this finale was very similar to how the spongebob musical ends - after the song they tossed huge green beach balls into the audience and had a huge confetti cannon explosion. of course i went nuts for it lmao. and the best part is that THERE IS A VIDEO ON YOUTUBE:
youtube
and then it was over. iirc it took a total 10 hours for my sister travelling there and back in on day, but it was 1000% worth it!!! next post: gonna look at costumes in detail!!!

My Evermore first listen through
Willow - love the bouncy strings kinda wistful but also lively? Water and ships agaaain. The reverb works well on this production. "Take my hand wreck my plans" is so cute. "Come out stronger than a 90s trend" hello style parallel. FOLLOWED BY A SPEAK NOW ONE "wait for the signal and I'll meet you". Literal chills listening to this song. "Every bait and switch was a work of art" hello hoax!!
Champagne problems - explicit and I'm here for it. Back to trains, interesting. Her voice is so soft. Love the stripped back feel. Crestfallen. Picture in your wallet, migrated from locket in SBT. "Your heart was glass and I dropped it".... heartbreaking. The run on celebrating is *chefs kiss*. Adding the strings and the "aahs" is a lovely build up. "She'll patch the tapestry I shred" wowowow.
Gold rush - feels like confetti of gold? Idk how else to describe the beginning. The beat is solid. The way the words hit the beat is very different for her. And the arrangement is also unique for swift music. "What must it be like to grow up that beautiful" - ask yourself that ms swift. The high notes are kind of reminiscent of haunted? I love the vibe and the idea of the two songs being sides of the same coin
'Tis the damn season - angry righteousness is the vibe. "You can run but only so far". Love the harmonies in the chorus. Her range is so delicious. "The road not taken looks real good now". "Only soul who can tell the smiles I'm faking" this is the opposite of IOMWIWY fight me on this
Tolerate it - melancholy vibes. "Use my best colours for your portrait" "I know my love should be celebrated but you tolerate it". This is such a sad song. "Threw blankets on my barbed wire" this is so sad, theres not much else to say. Of course this is track 5.
No body, no crime - excited for the haim feat ngl. Sirens and an ominous beat. Oof the country vibe but the "he did it" and that sauciness. Oooh this is so vengeful and dark I loooove it. WHAT HAPPENED TO ESTE? Nooo. Though I love the switch from este saying "I think he did it but I just cant prove it" to the singer saying it. Oooh shit the switch AGAIN. She just cant prove it. Also get "before he cheats" vibes from this.
Happiness - soft and slightly unsettling vibes. "Havent met the new me yet". I love the switch between happiness being because of/in spite of you. This song is striking a chord in me. The imagery of the sunrise. "Eyes leak acid rain" ooof. "But I think she'll give you that". There is happiness honey, you get that happy.
Dorothea - bouncy but subdued vibes. "You always know me" is so cute but kinda possessive? Like, she out there living her best life. The ooohOUUooos are nice.
Coney island - "did I shatter you?" touches my soul. There is such a regret vibe in the music and the lyrics. You can almost feel the chill via the musical arrangement? "Like the mall before the internet" ❤ the tree imagery keeps recurring and I love it "did I paint your bluest skies the darkest grey" I SEE YOU MS SWIFT. Getting chills at this end part.
Ivy - no intro, inchresting. Sounds like a story by a campfire. "Grieving for the living" "my pain fits in the palm of your freezing hand" "putting roots in my dreamland". Ughh the imagery! I love the ideas in this song. "So yeah" and "you started it" make me chuckle for some reason.
Cowboy like me - sway and suave feel. Dancing is a dangerous game. Who is the backing vocal (william bowery or jack?). Not feeling this as much as the others, bit slooow. The lyrics are nice but its not moving fast enough imo.
Long story short - reminiscent of muted gun shots. Love the vibe and the way the it flows. "Clung to the closest lips, was the wrong guy". "They once held the keys too" - hello LWYMMD. "But if someone comes at us this time i'm ready" YEEES GURL. Also wonderland vibes, JUSTICE FOR WONDERLAND. Might be my fave so far tbf. Ugh chills from head to toe at the nemeses part 🥰🤗👀. I can see myself dancing to this with my friends. I want someone who makes me feel this way. "Long story short I survived" is very tattooable
Marjorie - "never be so kind you forget to be clever" and then switched, ms swift why are you calling me out again? "Never be so polite you forget power" and the switch again, holy heck I love the word play in this song. Probably not one I'll have on repeat, but I do love the imagery.
Closure - punkish vibe, and sort of futuristic too. A bit disjointed. The way she sings also reflects that feel. Interestiiiing. Her emphasis is very different and I'm here for it. "I'm fine with my spite". GO IN. "It cut deep to know ya" I am vibing hard with this song. Chills at the end oof ms swift you did it again.
Evermore - her singing the same melody as the piano is also something different, and then switching to a place where she slightly deviates and coming back to the melody. "Catching my breath...catching my death". "This pain would be for evermore". This is sad but hopeful? Chills AGAIN "cant remember what I used to fight for". "On the very moment all was lost, sending signals to be doublecrossed". The piano doubling down when she sings "evermore" is so lovely. Oh hello changing pace and hello bon iver! Then fading back to the piano is so gooood. "This pain wouldnt be for evermore" classic swift shift and I am here for it.
