My toxic trait is I join online language learning communities and just dump a bunch of research-supported information on them that corrects their YouTube polyglot influencer-provided misinformation and misunderstandings of real research and then I vanish again

#anyway STEPHEN KRASHENS COMPREHENSIBLE INPUT HYPOTHESIS IS NOT WHAT PEOPLE THINK IT IS #it does not state: you can learn an entire language and become fluent just by listening to content. like what. why did you think that works #it is literally him making a hypothesis. about what input. is comprehensible #the comprehensible input hypothesis says that you need input thats a step more difficult than what you already know #and that stretches your listening comprehension without being incomprehensible and therefore a waste of time #it does not say. i repeat it does NOT say. that you will become fluent in spanish if you watch 700 hours of isla de las tentaciones #the 700 hours number HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS HYPOTHESIS #SOME IDIOT MADE IT UP IT IS NOT TRUE YOU HAVE TO ACTIVELY PRODUCE OUTPUT TOO.
