Windchase is probably the most stressful mini game in Genshin. So what if we did it in the real world?

“That shouldn’t be possible,” Tsukuyomi frowned. “The wards haven’t been activated. And we weren’t far away. Zhongli is easy for us to spot from a mile away with those Sigils.”

“The kids said they saw something that looks like him. And I couldn’t hear anyone else in the house,” Xiao recalled. “The living room and kitchen were a mess. I haven’t checked the basement yet.”

“We need to find everyone, but we can’t endanger Mingzhu and Susu.” Tsukuyomi pulled out his phone. “How about I take them to Granny Beetroot and Grandma Parsons? I’ll let you know if I find anyone on the way.”

A low growl caused panic in the children, making them cling to their father’s hand. “He’s back,” Susu whimpered.

Xiao teleported them all further away. Handing them over to his teammate, he briefly reassured them. “Stay safe and protect each other, okay?” Mingzhu and Susu nodded.

After they left, Xiao summoned his spear and mask. He made note of the anomalies and what could have caused them. But nothing matched.

Something doesn’t feel right.

Gemmy huddled behind the shelf with the little child. They tried to use their magic to remain invisible. But it was so draining. At least her dark hair and clothes made her harder to see.

A hand clamped over their mouth, panicking both them and the girl.

“Shh. It’s just me, Gem.”

The Creator God’s eyes widened. They looked up to see their partner.

His eyes shifted from Gemmy to the child. Then back to Gemmy. “Come on. We still have to find Ganyu and Jingwei.” He helped both of them up and led them away.

Before they could get out, a creepy monster walked down the stairs to the basement.

The little girl started sniffing and caught it’s attention.

It lunged at them as Xiao pushed Gemmy towards the stairs. “GO!” He used his spear to block it and keep it’s attention.

Gemmy directed the kid to go up while they turned around.

“Over here, ugly!” Gemmy taunted.

“What are you doing?!?!” Xiao yelled back.

“Making sure you don’t go and die again!” Gemmy said as they summoned their scythe.

The shadowy beast charges at Gemmy as they their weapon.

Xiao sighed as he joined them.

They managed to put up a fight, but as time went on, Gemmy’s power and luck ran out. They can barely stand now.

As the beast pulled it’s arm back, Xiao knocked Gemmy to the ground. The impact knocked them both out for a moment.

“Ow,” Gemmy grunted.

“Sorry,” Xiao muttered.

With them down, the beast moved towards the stairs. Realization dawned upon them. “That thing is after the kid!” Gemmy tried to get up to stop it, but felt pinned. When they tried again, their body listened. “Stop!” They screamed. Was that me, or Xiao? Gemmy thought. It sounded like their voices mixed. When they looked at their hands, they couldn’t believe what they saw.

Xiao saw Gemmy’s hands.

Gemmy saw Xiao’s hands.

The two were now one.

Fusion?

Whoever meant to scream got the attention of the monster. It stood up as the shadowy essence dissipated. Walking towards them, it chuckled darkly.

It sounded familiar.

From the shadows, an old enemy emerged.

Zhongli.

Both Xiao and Gemmy froze.

He grabbed their chin and tilted it up.

“Do not get in my way,” he commanded.

Before he could hurt them, a Geo Shard pierced his chest. He cried in a demonic voice as he shifted back into a shadowy mass. Xiao tried to move backwards to keep it away from Gemmy.

As it’s form finally dissipated, Albedo stood behind it, falling down as he was catching his breath.

“What the hell was that thing?”

i am. so confused but also so intrigued. i agree with albedo what the fuck was that. where did this child come from and does she have a connection with whatever creatures that appeared. why are they after her she is a baby. also fusion??? were they always able to do that?? or is it bc they both died and came back in some way.
