started thinking about it because apparently i’m in my complain about brainless tv shows era but my god silas from tvd was such a missed opportunity
#personal#for one i think silas never should have revealed his physical form#hell i think even silas's gender should have been a question mark that was never resolved#because they always just imitate other people with no regard for gender or sexuality#for two i hate that they went with 'first immortal is just a vampire but hates the word vampire' NO#have silas be the first immortal and that's it: immortal#a vampire isn't just a vampire because they live forever they gotta die first and all that and ALSO#vampirism comes with a host of powers like super strength and super speed and a degree of invulnerability#which silas shouldn't have. silas should literally just be immortal. ageless and incapable of dying#the closest we get to invulnerability is that any wound or trauma can harm but it just won't be enough to kill#silas'll never lose too much blood or a head wound will never be entirely incapacitating and any attempt at stabbing#will always just miss the heart#and have the mind control powers come from the fact that silas was a some kinda witch before immortality#since it's ancient greece (apparently? god julie.) just have silas be part of a now extinct coven of powerful witches#and therefore there is no understanding the powers silas has available because the knowledge is just straight up lost now it's not there#and so silas is unkillable and most importantly entirely reliant on powers and mental prowess and trickery#it's not about who can fight the best now it's about whether they can possibly outsmart this insanely old and wicked and shifty person#that they know nothing about they don't even know what silas looks like#that's what it should have been god it's so annoying
