Considering Toki can play the keyboard I like to think he learned how to play at church when he was a kid. He was always interested in music so he learned how to play from the church pianist because it was an acceptable instrument to learn (rather than the guitar which I imagine his family saw as satanic)

BRIGHAM NAM: HARD ROCK . inspirations: ac/dc , blue oyster cult , led zeppelin , the rolling stones

hard rock , sometimes recognized more commercially as classical rock , is characterized by its distorted electric guitar && basses , raspy && growling vocals , && complex instrumental solos laid over repetitive chords . brigham first encountered the music while at a friend’s house && it was one of the first times he heard music other than psalms and choirs  — && he loved it . sneaking records && cds into his room , brigham taught himself how to play by listening to the tracks on repeat with the stolen church guitar by his side . though perhaps not as well known as his cousin , brigham is still a talented guitarist who’s written a solo or two in the style . he’s able to play most well known solos by memory as well as riff independently off of them . though he mostly occupies his time with grifting work now , he still spends some nights playing the classics to himself && making sure he doesn’t lose the skill . 

ROMAN TALWAR: PUNK ROCK . inspirations: fall out boy , green day , blink-182 , rise against

ever since he was young , roman has loved music . it’s an interest his mother picked up on early && had been quick to foster in him , encouraging him to take classes in more classical arts . over time , roman found his calling in punk rock . known for its more aggressive vocals , driving guitar && bass chords , && anti-authoritarian lyrics, everything about the genre spoke to roman . while in LA , he melded into the punk rock scene , playing shows here && there ;; spraypainting skate parks && government buildings ;; && being a general nusance . he also spent time in soup kitchens && patrolling neighborhoods as part of a gang of local vigilantes . while roman is a skilled guitar soloist , he is also known as a reliable bassist with a bass solo or two up his sleeve . though his skateboarding days are mostly behind him , he might still be able to do a kickflip . just ask him about his snake bite piercings && eyeliner . you’ll find out that some things never really change . 

GRAY NAM: ALTERNATIVE ROCK .  inspirations: pvris , muse , deaf havana , arctic monkeys 

gray started his time as part of the church’s choirs && learned piano && cello to play accompaniment for other soloists at first . but then as he && his cousin brighman started spending ( arguably too much ) time together , gray began to shift toward rock music . while brigham introduced him to hard rock && blasted those exact tunes while they were escaping salt lake city , gray developed into his own genre over time . with soaring vocals , atmospheric instrumentals , && haunting lyrics , gray worked in his knowledge as a more classical pianist && cellist as well as his training as a vocalist into his music . borrowing also from brigham’s solo lessons , gray features impressive guitar riffs in his work , too . much like the genre of alternative rock as a whole , it’s still growing && hard to define && gray’s own music ( && identity ) is in its own constant state of change as he learns more about the world && himself .
