Richard Theodore Otcasek (born March 23, 1944), known as Ric Ocasek, was a singer, songwriter, musician, and producer.  He is best known as the vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and songwriter for the band The Cars that he formed with his friend Benjamin Orr. The band had several hits from 1978-1988; Ocasek played guitar and sang lead vocals on most of them, and Orr played bass for the Cars. Ocasek released a solo album in 1982 that was a little more experimental than the Cars’ “new wave sound” he even played all the instruments on some of the tracks. The Cars disbanded in 1988. Ocasek made no public music until he released another solo album in 1990. He has also been a successful producer and has produced music for various artists over the past 20 years. The Cars reunited and recently released an album in 2011 and were inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2018. In April 2018, The Cars were inducted into The Rock and Roll of fame. Ocasek has also appeared in films and is a talented songwriter. Ocasek is one of the critical members of Power Pop and New Wave. His peers and fans admire Ocasek.

Today (or was it yesterday? Think it was an 'after midnight' thing... so either one) has been 11 years since I created this fan page, although I didn't "officially" open it to the public until April 2nd the same year on David's life-day, that is. ♡

If this is your introduction to Chris Andrews, he’s a British singer-songwriter and recording artist whose songs have been covered by Roger Daltrey, David Essex, and Davy Jones (Monkees). Under the name Tim Andrews he was a champion of late 60s psychedelic pop and was part of the seminal 60s freakbeat band Fleur de Lys.
