Yknow I never got why so many articles I see on like, eccentric or insanely weird, outlandish, impractical, and/or ornate armour always gotta compare it to Dark Souls

Like yeah, Dark Souls has like, the Catarina Armor and Havel's set, I guess the Armor of Thorns though it's wackiness it toned down somewhat, but I dunno, tbh I always found Dark Souls's Armor designs seemed like, remarkably sensible compared to most other fantasy media I've consumed

#I don't remember what this was about #I just remember liking soulsborne games distinctly because their armor designs were good #modest and practical #barring a couple exceptions of course #like Havel's set was special to me distinctly BECAUSE it looked like crazy Mobile Game Fantasy armor #and that was the exception to the rule #like Souls armor buy and large would have like #nice etchings or filligree on most fancy armors #as opposed to most fantasy media I'd see which was like #Stark white plate lined with intricate golden patterns shaped like angel wings extending a full foot off the shoulders #the breastplate is a weird little pyramid that covers the chest area #their faulds having an entire human man sculpted from gold built onto them #and every other armor piece being covered in golden spikes and shit #while also looking like every plate on it is like three inches thick of solid metal #their helmet has like three visors all overlapping each other for no reason #and wings and horns bolted to the sides #yknow that sorta shit #Pun's text Posts
