As of Chapter 81, this is crew of the Courageous from Time to Orbit: Unknown, a marvellous space drama and mystery by @derinthescarletpescatarian . Original sketches & character guide below. Many of the character appearances are based on headcanon, but the ones with asterisks are based on canon sources.

I drew Celi first! I figured I would do the people in front, who I would have to draw most of their bodies, and work from left to right. Celi has had multiple organ issues, so she looks a little drawn (lol) and is still recovering in her wheelchair :). I drew her with small braids just hanging from the top of her head, as I imagine she’s too tired to take care of her hair very often, but still wants to keep some, so she has a sort of cap of braids. There’s probably a term for the style, but idk. Celi is of North African descent.

Next to Celi is Renn. His head looks wonky because I was drawing at an angle at the time. He’s been mostly depilated, and I imagine him in a sort of Aang-meets-European-in-a-tracksuit outfit because he’s calm and tries not to do much drama, but is condescending. Renn is of West Asian/American/Tarandran descent.

Then we have Public Universal Friend (PUF) 2 with the twists. I figure it doesn’t want a lot of hair to take care of, and this style keeps it out of its face. Same clothes as the other PUF. It is kneeling, with one leg propped up. It is of coastal Southern East African descent.

*Then laying on the ground is Tal. Ke is looking at kes tablet because ke doesn’t like focusing on other things. Tal is unfortunately at the wrong angle to show off ke’s face tattoo. Small afro kept stylishly kept, along with some garters and a short skirt. Ke is laying down because ke feels like it. Ke is of West African/American/Texan descent.

*Then we have Aspen, the POV character, smack dab in the middle. Canonically, they’d don’t have a headband as far as we know, but I think their hair looks nice pushed up like that. They are wearing a jumpsuit like last time, but this time has a belt for flair, because Tal and Sunset convinced them. Aspen sits cross cross because they can and it’s a common sitting posture in Arborea. They are of West African/American/Arborea Atlantican descent.

Lina is kneeling like PUF2, but facing the other way. I gave her buns and square jewelery because I based her off of a Hopi woman’s ’do that I really liked, and Lina can be short for names like Catalina. She has freckles because they’re fun. She’s gained some muscle and weight since the last picture, which is great! She is of Hopi/Latin American descent.

Last is Sunset. She is a zeelite, a subculture interested in replicating and investigating pre-Neocambrian (aka our time) cultures. She is largely inspired by what she knows of punk, pastel goths, drag, and to be honest, Barbie (2023). She is voguing because she knows and appreciates the importance of looking good. Sunset is of Central African/of Sirius descent.

Now for the top row, left to right again!

First, we have Heli. She wears functional but pretty clothes because she appreciates utility but always wants to show off what she’s got. The newest addition to the crew, she’s a little spiky, but has a soft spot for Adin. She was inspired by a picture of a Sistergirl from Australia (my headcanon, I only saw a picture of her and was unable to find more specific information). Heli is of Indigenous Australian descent.

*Next, we have Adin. I keep forgetting to draw him with tattoos, so I added a neck one last minute. His look has probably changed the most - his canon picture came out only a few months ago, so I drew him differently the first time. Adin cooks a lot, so he doesn’t try to wear anything or have a hairdo that could be ruined by cooking. Adin is of West African/Arborea Atlantican/American/Texan descent.

*Next up, the tallest of the bunch (and I forgot to draw his left arm until last minute, we have Denish! He’s doing the Arnold Schwarzenegger pose. The gentle Giant of the group, I was unable to recapture his face quite the same way as last time, but I still think he turned out well. He’s one of my favorite space pirates. I think he wears high collars to hide Tinera’s hickeys. Denish is of West African/American/Texan descent.

Right in front of Denish is PUF 1, AKA Dr. PUF. Still has tousled hair, still has the same robe. PUF is kneeling. It is of European descent.

*Hanging off of Denish is Tinera! She’s changed also, as her official looks came out, though I think I’ve kept her pretty nice looking still! I forgot to give her glasses though :(. I gave her Garnet (Steven Universe) finger gloves because they look cool. Tinera is of Central African/Lunarian descent.

Under Tinera is Sam. He’s partly visually inspired by the Dad of some kids I watch, and Ballister from Nimona. He likes to gaze at the stars and wonder about all the stories that will be told about them. Sam is of South Asian descent.

*Lastly is Keldin (AKA Captain Sands). He’s always dressed well and keeps his hair well-coifed. Hardly anyone from the ‘first’ crew likes him. He is standing awkwardly farther away because he knows everyone near him isn’t his tan. Keldin is of West African/American/Trandran descent.

I agree about Becky, especially since nowadays feels like the perfect time to bring back a disabled character, with all their talk about representation... And yet... Where is she, Mattel? They have nameless fashionistas in wheelchairs, but what about your media representation, Mattel? Don’t you care about that?

I didn’t pay any attention to who dolls were as a kid--like, my favorite doll was actually an Odette, but I didn’t really think about that until I was an adult, bc I renamed her Kamryn and she had nothing to do with Swan Lake. I was doing soap opera storylines, so I didn’t really need ready-made characters, since I basically did whatever caused the most drama lol, it wasn’t really about characterization for me.

Another one I miss is Summer, but only bc LitD basically contradicted her established backstory by not making her Australian. And I would like to actually see her be Australian one day. It would be fun for Blaine to come back with her (since they were siblings and all), maybe having a rival love interest for Barbie would finally push Ken to say something! Or maybe he would just let Barbie be happy. Anyway, it could be some fun drama, and also with them being Australian it would be an opportunity to talk about how things are different in other countries, which could be cool.

Merry Christmas to the styles family. How are they spending the day with little Isabella?

they had such a wonderful day today!! Every year, they switch where Christmas is going to take place, and this year it was in Holmes Chapel! (Tiny’s parents will go up for a few days or Anne and Des will go down to London depending on where the celebration is that year!) Tiny went to a get together with some of Harry’s childhood friends on Christmas Eve which was fantastic, and while they were there, Bella was making gingerbread houses with both sets of grandparents!

Christmas morning was a whirlwind! Since Bella got Peach (her Australian Shepard puppy) only a few weeks ago for her 4th birthday, it was their first holiday with a puppy! Anne got him some adorable treats and sweaters lol but for the most part, Peach just sat with his head in Bella’s lap content my watching everything that was going on (just like his adoptive family, he’s a VERY calm boy).

Bella got a play set for their backyard, some clothes and shoes, things for her barbies, some legos, dvds, and one thing the family does every year is make a donation to a charity, so Bella got to pick where they donated this year and she decided that The Honeypot Children Charity was the one this year! It’s a charity that provides support to young carers ages 5-12 who don’t have anywhere else to go! She wants to help all the other kids!(:

Harry and Tiny exchange gifts on Christmas Eve so that they can focus on Bella and just spending time together the morning of! And they promised that they weren’t going to get each other lots of things this year because theyre going to take a trip together sometime in the near future so that was kind of their gift to each other! Harry got her a some jewelry and new camera equipment that she’s been thinking about getting! and Tiny got Harry some clothes and rings, as well as reupholstered the inside of one of his cars that desperately needed it! They got some gifts for their parents and Gemma/Michal (Tiny really pressed Michal on when there would be a wedding, but got nowhere when he threw the question right back at her) and they played games, had lots of food and drinks, and just had an amazing day!!💛

10 Images That Define Your Childhood

I was tagged by @nemophilisty for this awesome meme she’s started! (sorry it’s taken me so long to do it! ♥)

I’m also tagging any and all of my followers who are interested in doing this- it’s a lot of fun!

1. Nibbles Barbie Horse: This was what caused my massive horsey phase when I was between 11-15 years old. I got my Nibbles- which I promptly renamed Charity- for Christmas when I was about 7. My best friend Amelia also got one but I accidentally broke it when I dropped it on our slate tiled floor; we glued the poor horse’s head back on but it never moved it’s head up and down again. My mum felt so bad that I’d broken it that we replaced Amelia’s with a new one and gave old Crusty (named for the superglue mark that ran down it’s neck) to my little sister. I still have Charity and Crusty, and I’m keeping them and all of the other million horse toys for when I have children.

2. Daekor Raccoon Plush: My old faithful teddy growing up, named “Raccoon”. This was my number one favourite toy and I (still) adore him to bits; he’s currently in storage but whenever I felt down or worried I’d give him a cuddle when I was really ill a few years back. My mum bought him from the Adelaide Zoo for me when I was a toddler. He looks much worse for wear than the one pictured- though you can buy a new(ish) one for $9.95 USD here!

3. The Emperor’s New Groove PS1 Game: This game practically raised my sister and I. Our dedication to this game is insane; we could act it out even now and we’ve got about 4 copies of the thing floating around our house (one disc doesn’t work, one is mine, one is hers and the other was sucked into a black hole along with our left socks). The graphics are shitty now but were awesome at the time and it just has so many funny moments as well as an amazing soundtrack. “DEMON LLAMA!”- That one guy before you destroy his statues.

4. The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness Series by Michelle Paver: This one is a bit later on in my childhood (I’d just turned 13), but this series really hit home with me and I fell in love with the characters and the setting. Eventually my grandparents found out that I loved it and since the author is English, they’d get me a copy of the new books when they’d travel to visit our relatives in the UK. This was also one of the first books I borrowed from the library of my new school; I made friends with the librarian and read heaps back then as I hadn’t made any friends at the time. I finally finished the sixth and final book in my final school year and it still makes me cry.

5. The Ranger’s Apprentice Series by John Flanagan: This is the second series that I was a huge fan of as a teenager; this one was recommended to me by the previously mentioned librarian. The series has finished now and has over 12 books in it, and I (again) loved the setting and the characters. I’ve wanted to re-read this series for a while now but sadly they are all in storage.

6. The Swan Princess Movies: (1-3, we don’t talk about the recent abominations incarnations) I made my family watch this so many times, I was such a sucker for this movie. Also I kind of wanted to be Odette when I grew up.

7. The Little Mermaid: Funny story here; my husband and I used to play Ariel and Buzz Lightyear when we were little since those were our favourite movies. Now that I’m older I kind of want to punch Ariel in the face because of how selfish (lol) she is, but I just wanted to be a mermaid. Part of me still kind of wishes I was tbh.

8. Quest for Camelot: Another amazing movie, my sister and I got this as a joint gift from our great-grandmother before she passed away. We still have the old VHS of it lying around here somewhere, and the VCR to play it on! I looked up to Kayley as a little girl and I think this movie is what sparked my interest in medieval stuff.

9. Pokémon: I started watching the Pokémon anime and collecting the cards when I was in junior school and in 2003 I got a gameboy colour with Pokémon Silver. My favourite was Eevee, but I also loved Poliwag, Ponyta and Rapidash.

10. Cadbury Yowies: This is an Aussie Thing™. Back in the day, Cadbury used to make these little chocolate monsters based on an Aboriginal myth. Kind of like Kinder Surprises, they had a little capsule inside them which had a figurine of an Australian animal and a little card that told you about the critter you’d gotten. As children my sister and I had a 5 litre ice-cream tub of all our Yowie animal figures (I still have one of my frogs somewhere!). They stopped making them but it’s a joint dream of all Aussie millenials that they bring them back.

Days before the release of her debut mixtape Ignorant Art Iggy releases a video for her song ���D.R.U.G.S.” In the video she sings over the beat of Kendrick Lamar’s ���Look Out for Detox’, “When the relay starts, Im a runaway slave… Master, hitting on the past gotta spit it like a pastor.” This is an allusion to the lyric from his song, “When the relay starts, I’m a runaway slave.”

Iggy claims that getting booed offstage at Canal Room in New York was the driving force for her career. Lol #whyyoumad.” The video from the show that night tells a different story however or a particularly happy crowd with only one male booing her at the 6:26 mark.

Also wrote a song called P-U-$-$-Y before Iggy Azalea.” Iggy responded with, “its NEVER been about who did it first… its ALWAYS been about who did it better.” Banks retweeted Iggy’s insult and wrote back, “i know right?? lmfaooo. haha.” And the beef begins. 

In an interview not long after the tweet, Iggy reflects on the tweet claiming Banks said, “I’m next level, I had a song about being a Barbie before Nicki Minaj had a song about being a Barbie. Here’s the link to my song. And fuck Iggy Azalea, I had a song called ‘Pussy’ before she ever did. Here’s a link to my song. It’s better.” …essentially nothing like the original tweet.

Iggy criticizes Lorde in an interview with Billboard for her collaborative performance with the surviving members of Nirvana at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Iggy said, “Nothing against her, but I think when you’re doing a tribute to someone that’s dead, generally it should be the person’s peer,” Azalea commented. “Lorde is not Kurt Cobain’s peer. No matter if she killed the performance or not, I just don’t think it’s appropriate.” Lorde responded with: “I enjoyed it. I had a good time. That’s all that mattered.” Iggy later apologized on Twitter, “I consider lorde my very talented friend. I find it ironic 2 girls tell the media theyre full of shit & weeks later supposedly I dislike her.”

Iggy responded to the speech in a screenshot of a letter from her notes page on Instagram. She wrote: “I have to say the general explosion of pettiness online in the last few days is hard to ignore and honestly…lame. In the wake of the BET Awards, Madd Mary releases direct dis track, “Eff Iggy.” Notable lines include: “Ignorant, impudent child of wealth and white privilege who benefits from the oppressive agenda of white supremacists,” “You just too damn afraid to engage in intelligent conversation about misappropriation of hip-hop,” “Prejudiced trash, send you back to Aussie land strapped for cash.” 

July 10 2014 

Allegedly Iggy posted a photo of her, Drake, TI and B.O.B captioned “Me and Ma Nigg’s.” Public Enemy’s Chuck D tweeted, “a new straight path to slavery Here comes a endorsed sanctioned CORPlantation artist with A line straight out of 1853.” After it was discovered that she never captioned the photo that Chuck D wrote: “True or not the IGGY thing is a reality when you call yourself with the slaveass term that was branded on skin & today marketed, sht happens.”

In an interview Rah Digga calls Iggy out, “Don’t come to America and try to convince me that you’re Gangsta Boo … Personally, I don’t consider [Iggy] Hip Hop. I listen to her album. Everything that I hear on there is everything but that. And I feel like Hip Hop is Hip Hop.” Iggy responded to the comment on Twitter with, “I honestly don’t really mind if I’m described as rap or pop. My passion is purely making music and entertaining.”

October 12 2014 

A photo of Azalea without makeup went viral and Snoop Dogg even joined in. He posted this photo on his Instagram and the feud began. 

Iggy responded to the Instagram with a string of tweets calling him out for being two faced and about how her bodyguard “stopped the fire truck that saved your friends life in canada when he almost burnt down the hotel.” Shortly after, TMZ ran a story about Iggy being “fuming mad over Snoop’s insta slam.” The two went back and forth with Azalea tweeting her feelings while Snoop continued to post memes on his Instagram clearly not bothered by the incident. 

October 12, 2014 

Iggy and her friend are followed into a grocery store by paparazzi. Clearly extremely angry her friend spits on the pap. The photographer going on to call the spit assault because he may contract AIDS or Ebola Iggy says, “Okay, I hope you have Ebola. I hope you die. You’re a fucking cunt.” The fight continues and Iggy even tried to ram him with her shopping cart calling the grocery store a “private place.”

After a call from Iggy’s manager TI, Snoop squashed the beef in a video.

Snoop is asked by a paparazzi if he will ever collaborate with Iggy. He responds singing the chorus of “IDFWU.” 

November 18 2014 

Eminem releases a dis track about Iggy where he jokes about raping her. Iggy responds in a tweet saying, “im bored of the old men threatening young women as entertainment trend and much more interested in the young women getting $ trend. zzzz.”

December 3 2014 

Unlike the majority of the members of the hip-hop community, Iggy is absent at protests supporting the Black Lives Matter movement and does not speak on the issue of police killings of unarmed black men. Azealia Banks is the first to call her out on it, “its funny to see people Like Igloo Australia silent when these things happen… Black Culture is cool, but black issues sure aren’t huh?” Iggy subtweets, “we’ve all read the script 49584068408540 billion times now, find a new game plan.” 

December 5 2014 

Iggy is nominated for Record of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop/Duo Performance, and Best Rap Album for the 2015 Grammys.

Azealia Banks calls out Iggy during a Hot 97 interview for appropriating black culture as well as discussing race relations in America eloquently.

Iggy goes on a Twitter spree. “Special msg for banks:” she tweeted, “There are many black artists succeeding in all genres. The reason you haven’t is because of your piss poor attitude.” She went on to call Banks a “bigot.”

Q-Tip tweeted attempted to enlighten Iggy in a string of tweets one of them read “@IZZYAZELEA Hip-hop is a artistic and socio-political movement/culture that sprang from the disparate ghettos of NY in the early 70’s.” He goes on to discuss how the connection between hip-hop, social and political issues will never be detached. Iggy did not respond. 

An anonymous hacking group claimed that they would leak rumored sex tape pictures if Iggy did not apologize for her actions. They wrote, “You are guilty of misappropriating black culture, insulting peaceful protesters, and making light of Eric Garner’s death”. Their account was then suspended. 

December 22 2014 

Iggy chimes in in a string of tweets stating, “i find it patronizing to assume i have no knowledge of something I’m influenced by, but I’ve also grown up with strangers assuming that.” She goes on to say, “how you feel about me blending musical genres together doesn’t bother me, no one is making you support or buy pop rap albums.”

Iggy has another Twitter freak out over some unapproved shots for her upcoming shoe line in collaboration with Steve Madden. One of the tweets read, “Tainted with these God awful images that Steve madden took appon themselves to create and share without my knowledge. Gross gross gross.” She later apologized on Instagram claiming she loves the company and “artists clash sometimes.”

Probably the most random of all of her feuds… Papa Johns Pizza! Apparently her delivery man sent her personal phone number around so she tweeted at the chain and they responded lightheartedly and Iggy was not having it. “I don’t think data breach is funny.” She continued, “I expect you to contact me to explain how you are going to rectify your breach of my personal information in a satisfactory and professional way or lawsuit will be filed.”

After returning home from vacation to see people criticizing her body in paparazzi photos Iggy announces that she will no longer run her social media accounts.

Iggy called out Britney Spears and her team for their lack of promotion for the duos collaboration on “Pretty Girls”. She tweeted, “its difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and tv performance etc. unfortunately I’m just featured”. Britney responded on Instagram posting a photo that read “DONT LET IDIOTS RUIN YOUR DAY.”

ComicBook NOW! tweeted ‘The Last Airbender’ is to movies what Iggy Azaelia is to music.’ Of course Iggy could not help herself and responded with “think its another one of those jokes only middle aged men who get boners over comic book movies understand.”

In a Hot 97 interview, TI said that he no longer speaks to his former protégé Iggy. He says he walked away from the relationship after Q-Tip tried to teach Iggy about cultural appropriation in hip-hop music and her response was not ideal. Iggy responded by saying, “I don’t think the radio is the right place to talk about personal issues.”

When Rita Ora named Iggy as a potential collaborator for a Lady Marmalade remake Azalea quickly shut her down tweeting, “Please leave me out of the whole Lady Marmalade conversation. I have nothing to do with ritas ideas & agree it should be left alone. Thanks.”

Erykah Badu hosts the Soul Train Music Awards and throws shade at Azalea during her opening monolog. She pretends to receive a phone call when when she answers it says, “Uh yes? Who is this? Iggy Azalea? Yeah, hey. Oh, no, no, no, no, you can come, ’cause what you doin’ is definitely not rap.” The audience seemed to love the joke but Iggy once again took to Twitter posting, “We are days from 2016, but i came online today and saw its still cool to try and discredit my 2014 accomplishments. LOL, fucking hell.”

In his song “White Privilege II” Macklemore calls out himself, Iggy, and other for cultural appropriation. He raps, “The culture was never your to make better. You’re Miley, you’re Elvis, you’re Iggy Azalea.” Iggy, very upset by the fact that old friend Macklemore did not even warn her about using her name in the song, tweeted, “he shouldnt have spent the last 3 yrs having friendly convos and taking pictures together at events etc if those were his feelings.” 

Brooklyn hip-hop artist Talib Kewli was bothered by Iggy’s reaction to the reference. He tweeted, “The [email protected] Macklemore song was a diss to her, instead of actually listening, is proof of her privilege. Fuck Iggy Azalea.” The two continued to beef back and forth on Twitter with Iggy posting, “still tweeting i see? I thought this was about macklamore? rap is global now and it has sub-styles. pop-rap is part of that.” No apology has been made.

D’Angelo Rusell posts a video of Iggy’s finance Nick Young openly implying that he was cheating on her. Iggy sarcastically tweeted, “hmmm i see D Angelo Russell is trending… I actually liked his film. Thanks bro.”

Iggy announces breakup with fiancé Nick Young, “Unfortunately although I love Nick and have tried and tried to rebuild my trust in him,” Azalea wrote on Instagram, “it’s become apparent in the last few weeks I am unable to. I genuinely wish Nick the best. It’s never easy to part ways with the person you planned you’re [sic] entire future with, but futures can be rewritten and as of today mine is a blank page.” Young had a less kind response simply tweeting, “Single.”

It shortly after came out that Young’s ex-girlfriend Keonna Green is pregnant with their second child together. In a string of tweets, Iggy detailed her feelings on the incident. One read, “I broke up with Nick because I found out he had brought other women into our home while I was away and caught them on the security footage.” While another said, “I find it baffling anyone would make the choice to bring a child into the world under these circumstances + want attention and $ for it.”

Addressing Iggy as “Igloo” Azealia Banks jokes about a possible collaboration on her new song, “What if… Igloo [Iggy] was on Anna Wintour.” Iggy took this as a peacetime gesture and posted videos on her Snapchat about squashing their beef.

In an unrelated interview, Halsey has some not so nice things to say about Azalea. “There’s a lot of people I wouldn’t put on my record” she said. “Iggy Azalea— absolutely not. She had a complete disregard for black culture. Fucking moron. I watched her career dissolve and it fascinated me.”

Iggy responded on an Australian talk show saying, “I thought it was a bit of a strange thing to throw that out there, but she’s young and I hope she learns maybe to be a bit less judgmental when she’s kind of in the same shoes.”
