Y'know there's a lot of shit going on in my head that immediately makes more sense once I remember I have aphantasia
#it's weird because the way I adapted to trying my best to fill the gaps with art has actually caused a weird form of face blindness#thanks to the split second flashes of blobs where things should be between swathes of pure black my face blindness is like#I can pick out individual facial features and tell them apart on faces and stuff#but the moment I have to put every feature together to try and register who a face belongs to I can't do it#everyone looks the same to me but different#my face blindness was worse before my art started getting better and I've adapted my visualizing to it#it's barely improved but there is indeed a change I've noticed in time#the aphantasia also affects my character designs because I can't translate my mental images to a canvas#because I can't actually SEE the designs in my mind's eye so at least one small change happens with every character I create#it's also why I can't do perspective or light sources well because I can't visualize them like I need to be able to to figure it out#the best way I can describe my aphantasia is like being completely blind yet being able to figure out visuals as if I can see just fine
