hii back w another chainshipping ask (also still workin on th reply 2 ur other ask!! 💚) — what’s the first real (out of state) vacation they take together + how does it go? bc u know Adam’s never had the money/time/energy to Travel, n Lawrence probably has sooo much he wants to share w Adam

I definitely agree that Adam hasn't really done a lot of traveling, not when that usually requires a good amount of money and energy - things of which Adam has never really had a lot of. Lawrence definitely has a top ten list of things he wants to show Adam - he's such a giver, and that extends to spoiling his partner - but I like to think that their first Real vacation is actually pretty lowkey, mostly to let Adam get a feel for it; I feel like it'll still take a bit for them to get used to like... being able to do stuff like that again.

I'm super fond of roadtrips, so!! I like to think that's their first vacation together! That way they can kind of hit several different states and look around, do some window shopping, spend time with each other without having to worry about other people, looking over their shoulders, or the stress they left at home. They try to split up walking stints to make sure Lawrence gets to rest a bit in between, something that used to bother him bc he can keep up, it's fine, rlly, but Adam just has to look at him and put a hand on his shoulder like "Dude, it's okay. Please rest b4 you hurt yourself." And Lawrence is like "Alright fine," but he actually appreciates it <3

Their favourite thing to do is duck into all the thrift shops!!! They both walk away with like, at least one armful of the weirdest shit in terms of shirts/clothing but they're both laughing and having fun, and honestly Adam loves those shirts. That's one of my fave hcs that we've both touched on!! He even gets Lawrence a few; even if he only wears them around the house, that's just fine. Lawrence likes to hit the antiques shops, he just finds that kind of stuff interesting!! And Adam didn't really think he'd be the type to enjoy it but his boyfriend is just so enthusiastic about it and he gets so into explaining things that Adam can't help but be like 🥺 a little bit... he learns a lot and finds that he likes looking around too! It's such a nice way for them to relax + learn things about each other.

They mostly frequent little diners when they go out to eat on the road, because the atmosphere is usually lowkey, the staff is kind, and in Adam's experience, the food is almost always good. I love the idea of them sitting across from each other in a booth, Adam's telling a story about him and Scott in high school where they got kicked out of their local diner because Scott was being a jackass, hands waving and grinning wide, and Lawrence is just sitting there alternating between laughing along and just staring at Adam like 😍 bc it's little moments like these that serve to remind him just how much he loves him, loves spending time with him. Little does he know Adam does the same thing when Lawrence gets reminded of something that happened one night in college and launches into a story of his own... I love the idea that they just have a moment where they're both making heart eyes at each other and they stare for a minute before laughing bc GOD they're in love!!!

Adam is the one that drags him to all the touristy places, just so he can take pictures of Lawrence standing next to certain landmarks/signs/etc.! He sets up the timer sometimes too so that they can both be in the photo, which is actually a big thing for both of them - for Adam, none of his boyfriends have ever stuck around long enough to get pictures like that and now it's with someone that he really truly loves. For Lawrence, it's the fact that he's not behind the camera, he's in the picture - no longer just an observer, but a participant in his own life; a life he shares with someone he cares about, someone he loves. They go up on the cork board when they get home for sure. <33

One of Adam's favourite pictures though is the one with Lawrence, walking along one of those rocky beaches with the sun setting behind him, bathed in a yellow-red glow that honestly makes him look a little ethereal. That one goes in his wallet when they get home; he wants to have it on hand <33

Lawrence's favorite is a picture of the two of them beside a sign that Adam just HAD to take a picture of. He's got his head on Lawrence's shoulder, and though it's not really visible save for his hand, he's got an arm looped around Lawrence's waist, and likewise Lar has his wrapped around Adam's shoulder. That one goes in his wallet, because it's like. Not just because he adores the memory of it, but also because it's physical proof that he's living the life he's always wanted. He's happy, he's in the frame, his life is in focus. It's an honest depiction.

Essentially it's about spending time with each other and making good memories after all the hell they've been through. It's a bright spot, a relief from daily stresses and strain, and it's very important to both of them! <33
