ahajsjsjk- evil. pure evil! 🤣 however, it gave me an excuse to spend my morning rewatching some of the best hotchreid scenes so maybe i should thank you instead 🥰

okay, these are in no particular order and i apologise in advance for the incoherent ramblings you're about to read....

literally all of l.d.s.k. okay this is basically the hotchreid episode on my eyes. if i were to pick a scene though it 100% has to be the ambulance scene. you've got all the soft smiles, the fond laughs, hotch reaching out to touch reid like he always seems to want to do! not to mention the fact that hotch lets reid keep his gun despite admitting just how awful his aim is. smitten. he's so damn smitten.

what i have dubbed as 'the nightmare scene' from 1x10. this scene is so dear to me. it's about hotch not being to wait until after the case to comfort reid like gideon does, it's hotch seeing reid yawn and immediately needing to be there for him. it's about the intimacy of this small scene, the lack of personal space, the hushed voices. the "if you wanna talk about it, you know where i am" + hotch yet again gently touching reid.

that damn freaking hug in 2x15! or, no, okay that is a huge moment obviously because there's the softness to hotch's voice and the way he holds reid like he's afraid he'll shatter right in front of him only for reid to cling to hotch like his entire life depends on it. but i think the whole "i choose aaron hotchner" scene actually tops this one. because it's about the huge implication that hotch is closest to reid out of the whole bau team. how reid is putting all of his trust, his whole life, into hotch's hands purely because he knows that hotch will remember some random conversation they had a while back. it's how hotch doesn't blink an eye, doesn't for one second take what reid says about him to heart (unlike the rest of the team) because he already knows exactly what reid thinks about him.

the fist bump scene from 10x11!! i haven't even watched this episode yet but i've seen this scene so many times. hotch glaring at kate when she questions reid, only for his expression to soften the moment he turns back to reid. the proud smirk on hotch's face when reid proves them wrong. the whispered "psst" and the adorableness of that whole moment, reid not even hesitating as he fist bumps hotch, barely even looking up, as if this is a thing they do all the time and hotch isn't totally acting unusually fond or playful at all (which just goes to show that this is how hotch acts when they're off the job and you know i'm a sucker for chaotic hotch).

the physics magic scene is 2x12!!! okay i could ramble about this scene forever. hotch immediately recognising what reid is doing as "physics magic" even though the girls were laughing about reid calling it magic. he just knows what it is. the implication of there being a past conversation/incident about reid doing these little experiments and yet the girls have never seen it before, which means hotch saw it outside of work. not only that but also the fact that hotch has seen reid's physics magic experiment more than once because of his comment "although, you're starting to get some distance on those" + their matching grins, especially hotch's huge hidden one! not to mention how reid responds with "sometimes" when emily notes that hotch does actually have a sense of humour. love reid just understanding hotch in ways that the others don't.

this got waaay out of hand, i'm so so sorry 🤣 give me a chance to talk about hotchreid and i will go overboard!
