absolutely incredible that the 15th anniversary of minecraft isn't what's unifying the community right now, it's that everyone is more or less equally confounded by how bad the new piston sound is
#june speaks#minecraft#the anniversary celebrations straight up have people divided cuz java players are tired of bein treated like the redheaded stepchild#but that new piston sound that sounds like the faint slapping of a fish from fifty paces? everyone's in agreement there by the looks of it#for the record it's not like the sound is of poor make or quality#it's a decent sound that might work well for a different redstone component. maybe one of the ones that shares the generic click sound#and a quieter piston sound would be incredible to have cuz the original sound is indeed deafening in the presence of more than two pistons#but the new sound is COMICALLY quiet and just doesn't sound very mechanical#the only redstone component quieter than the new piston noise is redstone dust. which doesn't make any noise.#and it just doesn't have that same clunky thunky chunky charm the old sound had. it lacks any sort of character#i say just reduce the old sound's volume by 50% and/or add a feature to lubricate pistons by waxing them to make em silent
