i knowwww these two things arent really comparable but its insane seeing people whine that madoka magica is “misogynistic torture porn” for *checks notes* being a tragedy and having bad things happen. while im rereading warrior cats and they are inventing new fun ways to punish sparkpelt for breathing every other book

#seriously i cannot overstate enough how much these books DESPISE sparkpelt #i mean it when i say that every page involving her is practically dripping with contempt #if she gets a nice thing she will have it ripped from her and she will be swiftly beaten by the narrative to make up for it #it is insane how much they hate this character #the nightheart stuff is practically the tip of the iceberg to me #madoka has like one admittedly gross and weird line abt teen girls being emotional and besides that it earns its tragic themes #and like. one guy with a history of having downer writing was involved #ignoring the collaborative process madoka was #ohhhhh the girls fucking. die in madoka. you cant do horror stories with girls that means you hate girls and want them to suffer #the actual abuse apologism and vitriolic hatred towards single grieving mothers and imperfect women in wc is fine tho #bc its ghostwritten by women
