the acolyte has INCREDIBLE story beats. it has INCREDIBLY intriguing themes that deserve thorough exploration and discussion. the characters introduced have INCREDIBLE roots to be some of the coolest, most complex characters in star wars.
and yet it just fell short of all its potential to me. it has all the ingredients of a fantastic show, with a lackluster end result. i was told everything and felt nothing. where's the depth. where's the connection. where's the FLAVOR.
#maybe season 2 will be better idk#i mean at the end of the day star wars is gonna star wars lol#and most star wars media is mediocre at best#but i still love it#the acolyte#the acolye critism#the acolyte spoilers

also maybe this is just a me thing but i think the thing i'm most disappointed about is the lack of attachment i feel for any of the characters. i can usually excuse lazy/bad writing in star wars because typically i really feel attached to at least one character, but with the acolyte i just felt like i didn't really know anything about any of them. really made it hard to feel invested in how things would turn out
#i mean technically i was attached to jecki but well#y'know#the poor thing was 3 hole punched#rip jecki you could have prevented osha's fall to the dark side i just know it#the acolye critism#the acolyte spoilers#the acolyte
