from the ask game!! what fascinates you about humanity?

My dear Fox, this is an excitingly impossibly huge question to answer but I will say. soap bubbles. like......... hhhhhhh I'm torn as to whether I should explore this from the beginning or the end but like

children love playing with water & bubbles (adults do too but I digress), & I was thinking the other day abt those little bubble-blowing tubes u can buy at any dollar store — hours of fun from something as simple as soap & water!! & how probably for centuries, mums & aunties & grandmas have been amusing children with suds & blowing soap bubbles for them in the course of laundry work.

it's such a unique form of play in that probably for a long time it was always a by-product of a household task, not a specific game like chase/hide & seek or a specific toy like a doll/ball. but it is a specific toy now!! staple of parties & summers!!

so like...who first thought to make it a Thing? who thought to pull it out of being an aside & into the focus of a toy shop shelf? who saw their child so amused by blowing bubbles while washing their hands, something I myself used to do even as a teenager, & thought to make this a portable experience?

that part of humanity — our endless capacity for play & fun, & our persistent potential to prioritise it, whether realised or not — is what fascinates me

idk bubbles are just such a pretty transient simple harmless thing but they bring so much joy ;-; like seeing bubbles in places where u least expect them is

actually post cancelled. what fascinates me abt humanity is this thing I just drove past on the side of the highway
