How did your Phoenix react to the Phantom's message?

they had… mixed emotions, to say the least. here’s a letter from someone they’re sure outclasses them in every way (based on the sheer impossibility of this getting set up) and the Phantom tells them that they made a choice, one that extends to Phoenix: to live or to die.

imagine being the most skilled individual in your field and finding out that before you, there was someone else, someone who was just like you. someone better, even. and then, for some reason, they quit. Agent Phoenix is a born and bred puzzle solver; they’re not one to balk at a mystery. but it is a little ominous.

#plus they’re using Zoraxis code which like. little concerning #i don’t remember my exact reaction to the letter but “what the kentucky chicken fried flip” gets the gist across #i think my jaw dropped when i translated the ‘i expect you to live’ bit like WHAT.
