i have already started to think up game mechanics for a game that i truly deeply do not yet have the skill to code....send help
#ari speaks#the Personal Project has variables/stats but they work almost like an approval system every time#or you can choose a class but then your abilities are locked to class/subclass and the differences appear thru flavortext#for example you have 3 diff types of problem-solving skills (intellect/perception/common sense)#certain choices indicate a tendency towards A B or C which gives you points in the background#and higher scores in one over the others will show you certain things as the story progresses.#but for New Idea (which leans more towards a game than an IF so far)#you wld be given points to use in 4 skills: talking/thinking/tinkering/tussling.#you also get a background that would impact those skills (i.e. being X gives you +1 to skill A)#which is fun but i think almost requires there to be some amt of RNG for parts involving skill checks? which complicates things#anyway its 2am send help#there is an AU in which i went to school for to make video games
