hi dumb messy little fic thing
Silence. The boys are in a shitty car Hajime was given by the Future Foundation. One Izuto Kamukura is sleeping silently in the backseat with a Hajime-sized red hoodie draped over him haphazardly.
Things are wordlessly tense. Despite the smaller boy showing no signs of waking up anytime soon, Hajime can feel what can only be described as the watchful eye of a predator stalking it’s prey.
“…Hinata” Izuto murmured, voice cracking from a clear lack of use.
“OH uh…morning?” Hajime responded, unease creeping it's way into his tone.
“It’s 12:56”
Hajime turns to the car’s broken clock, it's cracked screen barely glowing at all, let alone displaying the time.
“How can you — oh uh, yeah”
Silence slowly gripped the small car once again, it's claws making it almost hard to breathe. That is, until Hajime once again heard a noise from the backseat.
“Is it like you wanted?”
“Huh?”
“You were in the reserve course. You mentioned you used to be fixated on talent and more specifically, your inherent lack.”
“Oh, yeah, you were watching the game with her, weren’t you”
“You would be hard pressed to find someone who didn’t watch the game.”
“Hahah yeah, Junko was… a lot of things, but she definitely seemed to have had a strong effect on others. I mean, you have Mukuro and whatever was going on there, and you have the remnants—“
“You’re avoiding the question”
“What?”
“I asked you a question. I expect an answer”
“Oh yeah uh…I guess? It’s a lot more pressure then I thought it would be” Hajime couldn't help but let out an awkward laugh, his own desperate attempt at lightening the tension that the two had been drowning in.
“Elaborate”
“Why are you so interested in this? I thought everything was boring to you, Mr. God-among-ants.”
“Those are Enoshima’s words, not mine. You intrigue me, Hinata. I want to learn more about you and your psyche.”
“How am I interesting? What, are you gonna make fun of the octagon thing?”
“You’re a fellow Ultimate Hope, it’s only natural for me to want to investigate this talent in the wild. It’s hard to use yourself as a test subject for something so rare. Be glad I haven’t decided to dissect you yet.”
“Har har, good joke mr ultimate comedian”
...
“If you’re going to ignore my initial question, I have decided to move on”
“…ok?”
“What do you think they’re going to do with me?”
“What?”
“This is the second fastest route to the Future Foundation’s headquarters. What do you believe your superiors will do when you hand me over.”
“Oh well…they’ll probably put you on trial, and hold you accountable for your crimes.”
“Despite your overall...lack of abnormality, you’re smart, Hinata. You read the reports on what the academy did to me, and you know just how many of that staff was carried over to the Future Foundation. I was built to be a weapon. Do you truly think they could allow such a powerful resource to rot in a cell?”
“Well…”
“What do you think they’ll do when they get their hands on the remnants?”
“Wh-“
“What will happen to them, Hinata?”
“I-“
“What will happen to Nanami’s friends?”
“I DONT KNOW”
Hajime didn't mean to yell but it came out that way despite his intentions.
Silence ensues. Hajime assumes that Izuto has fallen asleep and lets out a sigh. He focuses on driving them for a while. That is until he hears an odd noise come from the back seat.
“Kamukura, what—“ he looks back to find tears falling from Izuto’s face
“I’m-” His voice gets caught on the way out.
“I’m scared, Hajime”
“I…”
Hajime turned to look Izuto in the eyes, he had never before seemed so. mentally present.
“…I won’t let them hurt you”
“…”
“Or the remnants.”
Izuto looks up at him, clarity shining through his eyes for a flicker of a blink of a moment.
“I promise”
“….”
Hajime turns his attention back to the road but he finds himself struggling to focus. They sit in silence for a beat. Izuto's voice is startlingly clear as he flatly states:
“If you truly want to keep your promise, you should watch where you’re driving”
“Wh—OH MY GOD”
Hajime then sharply swerves the wheel and very VERY narrowly misses one incredibly pissed Nagito Komaeda

sighs and taps on my head. hi dr tag here’s an au that’s been rattling around inside my brain for a while now. all the info on it under the cut so this doesn’t get to be too long of a post. ⚠️ warning for thh/udg/sdr2/dr3 spoilers
future foundation celeste/neo world program chisa au
basically the gist is that celeste is a survivor of the 78th class’ killing game and goes on to work for future foundation alongside the original six survivors. “who would die in celeste’s place?” i hear and i just toss “hifumi is just unhinged enough to kill taka over alter ego.” this then also means that the attack on herself celeste faked was actually real (committed by hifumi, of course), but this post isn’t about the 78th class’ killing game.
so, like all the survivors of thh’s killing game, celeste goes on to work for future foundation after she escapes from hope’s peak. when future foundation learns of a hostage (komaru naegi) in touwa city, celeste is sent with byakuya to retrieve them and bring them back to future foundation hq (unbeknownst to them, of course, is the fact that touko tagged along). by some force outside their control, celeste and byakuya end up separated, and the events of udg continue as they normally do up until we reach the scene on the bridge in chapter 1. just as yuta goes to dive into the water, celeste appears and grabs him by the back of his hoodie, telling him that if he tries to swim out of the city he’s going to explode. (“trust me,” she says with a look in her eye that doesn’t make komaru keen on challenging her.) because celeste saved him, the udg gang now consists of komaru, touko, celeste, and yuta. from here the events of udg mostly follow canon, and at the end, celeste, byakuya, and yuta all return to future foundation hq while komaru and touko remain in touwa city.
taking a break from the focus on celeste, we now come to the point at which the events of sdr2 start. here, chisa doesn’t join future foundation. instead, she’s working with class 77-b as a remnant of despair. when the remnants are eventually found by future foundation, makoto sends them to jabberwock island to participate in the neo world program, chisa included. however, a problem arises when it comes to their memories. if they took chisa’s memories of everything after she met her class, she would still know she’s supposed to be their teacher, which would conflict with monomi’s role as their teacher in the nwp. so the only thing makoto can think of to do is erase chisa’s memories farther than that and lead her to believe she’s the 17th member of class 77-b. things proceed as they normally do, but in chapter 4 when the idea of the traitor’s identity gets tossed out, both hajime and chisa are thrown under the bus. hajime for the reasons in canon, and chisa because “she looks just a little too old to be a high school student like us, don’t you think?” events past this proceed largely the same, and chisa is a survivor of the nwp killing game.
now let’s jump back to focusing on celeste. after the nwp killing game comes the final killing game at future foundation hq. it’s probably a little late in the post to mention this, but kyoko and celeste are dating, and that is a crucial detail. makoto’s ng code is the same, but hina and kyoko’s are different, as well as celeste and yuta having entirely new codes. they go:
aoi asahina: asahina yuta living past the tenth death
yuta asahina: being punched or kicked by another player
celestia ludenberg: making any form of verbal noise
kyoko kirigiri: looking at celestia ludenberg
kyoko and celeste’s are the most important here, as this means communication between the two of them will be extremely difficult if no third party is present to aid them. i headcanon that celeste knows jsl, so communicating with everyone else won’t be much of a problem. luckily for the main cast, none of them break their ng codes. well, except kyoko. the mastermind (who yes, i know dies before the killing game reaches its conclusion) sabotages kyoko by tricking her into thinking celeste’s broken her ng code. they do this by playing a doctored sound file of celeste, apparently in pain, saying kyoko’s name. celeste, who hasn’t actually broken her ng code at all, can only watch in horror as kyoko whips around to look at her, subsequently breaking her ng code and being poisoned. however, like canon, kyoko had taken seiko’s antagonist to slow the poison, and mikan saves her when the remnants of despair show up, leading to her coma. celeste sits by her bedside every day while she waits for her to wake up.
other various fun things:
- celeste in pants! she wears the suit because she recognizes how impractical the skirt would be for the fieldwork she needs to do in udg
- speaking of impractical things, celeste doesn’t wear the drills as often anymore. her hair has actually grown out a bit, so she wears it up in a ponytail
- touko and celeste are the queens of not giving komaru and yuta the exposition they desperately need, so they’re both really confused for the duration of udg
- udg is also secretly just celestia ludenberg: babysitting simulator because touko, komaru, and yuta tend to act first think later
- celeste actually realized the monokuma kids were brainwashed all the way back at the beginning of udg, and she didn’t realize her companions didn’t know this until komaru says “wait i think they’re brainwashed!”
- in the same way junko attempted to drag hajime into despair/pressing the graduate button by telling him he’s actually izuru kamukura, she tells chisa that she’s responsible for the real chiaki’s death
- throughout the events of sdr2, chisa finds it odd that 77-b is referring to her as just chisa/yukizome, but because her memories are gone, she can’t for the life of her tell why that is
- after the final killing game, celeste takes to humming to herself whenever appropriate/possible because she hates being quiet. in her mind, herself being quiet links to death being right around the corner
- there was more than one instance where celeste almost broke her ng code when seeing someone’s dead body, only to be stopped by someone covering her mouth to remind her to stay silent

Miu & Kokichi in an Apocalypse Zombie AU ! Also an AU where Nagito and Hajime never met because I like pain.
Holy shit.
Miu & Kokichi in Apocalypse Zombie AU
It goes without saying that Miu is the mechanic/inventor. One of the inventions she made was a radar that alerts you of zombies when you’re asleep. Ouma still comes up with other potential ideas that are either more practical or more outlandish than Miu’s own. Depends on his mood.
Ouma’s held Miu’s hair back before when she got sick at the sight of some particularly grotesque zombies and sights. She got desensitized with time but Ouma still yanks on her hair whenever she gets queasy and it helps.
Ouma’s had to cut her hair once since it kept getting in the way and he’s surprisingly good at it. He nearly stabbed her with scissors because she kept squirming. It was irritating but unsurprising.
One of the inventions Ouma jokingly (or not?) suggested was a robot buddy. Miu immediately went for it.
Ouma often sneaks around and expects Miu to hold up camp while he’s gone. Miu gets very irritable and distressed if he’s gone for too long.
Never Met
Hinata leaves HPA rather than signs up for the Kamukura Project and as a result simply remains feeling unfulfilled and frustrated, far more so when other kids bully and isolate him for making it to HPA and not even sticking around.
I’m so torn on what happens with the Kamukura Project… How about… Komaeda does it instead since he doesn’t have any talents besides luck and they couldn’t find any other ridiculously average guy like Hinata and…
Look I just want Kamukura Izuru with the fluffiest fucking hair is that so wrong
is that
so
wrong
Anyway, Kamueda rushes off after the student council killing game that Junko sets up. World ends, and Hinata if he doesn’t die is stuck living in fear with the other refugees. He feels utterly useless and hopeless.
Assuming Naegi still saves the 77th class and sticks them in the NWP, Komaeda wakes up not remembering anything except his name and original talent and that for some reason he’s very, very empty.
Komaeda doesn’t think there’s anything weird about that, so he ignores it for now.
… =q= …hard to say how things go without Hinata there but it’s probably, uh… Worse…
