i feel like (2022) batman would want you to ride his face/let him eat the coochie whenever he had free time. idk he gives likes to please vibes to me. Also luv your work!!!!!
um i love YOU for sending me this ask.
bruce is absolutely a fucking munch because 1. he's obsessed with you and 2. it allows him to communicate his love for you without having to say anything.
shocking to absolutely no one, he's not that great with words. his love for you burns so intensely in his head that any coherent thoughts of adoration get all tangled up before they can leave his lips. and while you find his quiet nature endearing, it always embarrasses him.
so instead, he's found himself developing a habit around you. whenever the two of you are alone, whether it's when he's come home from patrol or during some rare moments where you're both doing nothing, he slides down to settle between your thighs.
it doesn't matter if you're reading a book or on your phone or watching tv. none of that stops him from getting to work on you. he curls his hands around the soft flesh of your legs and nuzzles against the thin cloth of your panties.
most of the time you'll let out a little giggle, but it doesn't make him shy like it does if he's trying to talk to you. instead, it sends all his blood down to his cock. the thick length stiffens up against the mattress even though he's not concerned with getting any attention it.
he takes his time when he's down there. he's in no rush to leave his favorite place in this world. once he's got your panties out of the way, he starts small with little kitten licks and kisses to your clit. as time goes on though, he gets more into it, more dedicated. in a matter of minutes, his eyes are shut and he's moaning against your slick folds, fully making out with your pussy. he laps at it like he's never tasted anything better. he moans without shame while sucking on your bundle of nerves. he devours you like he hasn't done this four other times this week.
he doesn't stop until tears of overstimulation brim your cute little eyes. only then does he pull away and start to crawl back up to be beside you. he then cradles you to his chest and rubs your back, soothing you down from the highs of repeated release. you're all spacey and clingy, so he doesn't have to worry about conversation either.
in fact, when you're all blissed out like this, he finds it pretty easy to whisper out the words i love you.

Bruce slowly nodded, eyes hardening and the emotion behind them too intense for you to grasp onto. You stood, in the middle of the vast drawing room that the butler, Alfred, had guided you to, the silence thickening as the quiet rang on for a few moments too long for your liking.
The pit in your stomach was growing by the second and you could feel the air in your lungs tightening. When your ribs finally felt like they were being squeezed, Bruce spoke.
“Okay,” he said, voice cool and calculated, eyes drifting over your body as if trying to find some evidence that you were pregnant. Your eyes met his and you tried to figure out what he might be thinking.
Maybe he thought you were trying to trap a billionaire or maybe he wanted nothing to do with the baby, or you. Maybe he wanted to be a part of the baby’s life and maybe not yours. Maybe he wanted the baby to himself.
That scenario scared you. Even though this whole pregnancy wasn’t planned, over the last two weeks and the first appointment, you had grown into the idea. It didn’t even matter to you whether or not he wanted to be in your lives, but you wanted the baby now.
You would find a way to support the child and yourself. But knowing the connections and power he held over you, with all the money he had, you knew it would be impossible to win a custody case.
You cleared your throat. “I’m going through with the pregnancy,” you whispered, as if that much wasn’t obvious. You wouldn’t have been here if that wasn’t what you had planned to do. You watched him nod slowly again, jaw clenching this time as his eyes left yours to pin to the floor in front of him.
“Are you sure?” He asked lowly, his voice betraying a crack of emotion. He shook his head, gaze flitting up to meet yours in question. “Even if I don’t want to be a part of their life?”
“Even then,” you replied evenly. The sun was dipping in the horizon, coating the drawing room in honey. You could see the hint of a subtle approvement in his eyes, but before you could dwell on it longer, he spoke again.
“Okay.” It was one simple word that had no other context. You were starting to get annoyed with that word leaving his mouth. You opened your mouth to voice that annoyance, but he beat you to it. “I'll do it.”
You sucked in a sharp breath, the annoyance and nervousness fading behind the relief that made your shoulders loosen. Your brows raised slightly before falling and your eyes flickered around the room, his gaze too intense for you to keep. A shiver ran through you and you rubbed your arms to keep the chill out.
You met his gaze, swallowing down the urge to snap at him for scaring you. “You’ll do it?” You asked with a hint of confusion and skepticism, not entirely convinced with how easily he accepted it. The stoic expression and the guards in his eyes gave you little to no reading on how he was truly feeling.
Even that night after the gala, he had been the slightest bit vulnerable before he had turned away, gotten dressed, and left the room without another word. It unnerved you.
His Adam's apple bobbed as he nodded. “I am. I’ll take care of the baby and you. I’ll pay all the expenses that may arise—”
You cut him off with a scoff. “No.” You met his careful gaze, a hint of anger shimmering under your emotions at his implication. You didn’t come here for him to throw money in your direction. “I didn’t come here for you to pay for me and the baby. I can manage that.”
His eyes dropped to the floor for a moment before meeting yours, confusion now etched into his eyes. “Then why are you—” he started before you cut him off again.
“I just needed to tell you if you wanted—” you let out a deep sigh, frustration bubbling over the edge. You closed your eyes, pinching the bridge of your nose, not believing the fact that he had thought you were here to make him pay.
Out of all the reasons you had to come here to meet him, to tell him that he was going to be a father, your baby’s father, money was not one of them.
You opened your eyes, meeting his gaze, now a little calmer. “I wanted to know if you wanted to be a part of the baby’s life, Bruce,” you said slowly as if explaining something very precious. “Not to pay or take care of expenses, but as just a father. If you wanted to see the milestones—the teething, the first steps, words.”
He blinked, confusion melting into relief and then something akin to disbelief. “As just a father?” He asked, almost testing the words out on his tongue.
Something about the way he asked tugged at your heartstrings. You knew he was always seeked out by the socialites for his money and power, but he was as reclusive and quiet as they could get.
You just hadn’t realized the extent of his distrust. He was used to people asking for him to get either his money or power and, no doubt, had jumped to the conclusion that you wanted his money.
You nodded. “A father. Nothing more or less, Bruce.” You could see the slight hesitation in his posture. The way he shifted his weight ever so slightly and eyes darted to the wall behind you in contemplation. “We could co-parent or have set days or holidays or something. We—we could figure it out. I just—it wouldn’t be fair to not tell you. That's why I came.”
His blue eyes met yours again, softening at the edges. He nodded slowly, his tense shoulders drooping slightly, his blazer ruffling with the movement.
He took his hands out of his pocket, finally reaching down to the coffee table for the sonograms you had placed there when you had told him about the pregnancy. He stared at the photos, eyes raking down the sonograms.
“How far along are you?” He asked, eyes not straying from the little blob that was supposed to still grow. He couldn’t see the hands or feet yet, but he seemed to be trying to find them anyway.
“Around eight weeks.” When you spoke, his eyes darted to you, lips pressing together tightly.
He nodded. “That would make sense.” His eyes flickered back to the photos, fingers tightening around it slightly, just enough for a crinkle to appear. You knew he was still hesitant to believe you, that you were carrying his baby and that you didn’t want his money.
“It’s up to you,” you said cautiously, taking half a step closer to the coffee table between the two of you. You saw his eyes flick up and then back down. “Whether or not you want to be there for the baby. It’s up to you entirely.”
And it was. You never came to him with the intention of forcing something he didn’t want. If he didn’t want anything to do with the kid, you wouldn’t blame him. It was supposed to be a one night thing, not a whole lifetime of commitment to a whole other human being.
You had chosen to be responsible for the growing fetus inside you. You wanted him to choose as well, without any pressure.
He let out a low hum, hand lowering the sonogram pictures and meeting your gaze. His eyes softened. “I’ll be there for the baby,” he said slowly, nodding at you. “And you.”
You blinked in surprise. “Bruce, I—“
“And you,” he repeated before you could try and protest. His voice was like steel, resolute and strong. You knew he wouldn’t be taking no for an answer this time. “The baby and you.”
You could merely nod in response. You didn’t know what would happen or how you two would navigate through the next few months and then some years, but you knew he was determined to make it work. However that would be.

say yes
kinktober, day twenty-one
a/n: ...i personally wouldn't mind becoming mrs. wayne.......
warnings: bruce wayne (pattinson) x fiancé!reader, smut, established relationship, possessiveness, oral, cock worship, dirty talk
∼ gentle reminder that feedback, but especially reblogs are the way you support writers on here ∽
masterlist | join my taglist | kinktober 2023
With the newly ring adorned hand softly wrapped around your fiancé’s girth, tender gaze locked on his, you littered his throbbing length with sweet, sloppy kisses.
Pecks fluttering down towards the base, you dipped further down and drooled over his heavy sack. Mouth gently agape as he watched you in awe, one of his hands then drifted it way down to yours, dreamily brushing his fingertip over the jewel.
“Say it again,” he breathed as your lips teased their way back up to the dewy head, “say yes,” staring at you as if you were a deity at his feet, “tell me that you’re all mine.”

✮ word count: 0.3k I ✮ no warnings, just soft soft fluff! I ✮ five-hundred follower bash
gif by: @robpattinsongifs

✮ bruce is a soft lover, despite his cold demeanor. you hold a special place in his heart, and god forbid you’re exposed to the dangers of his nightlife. he swears to keep you safe.
✮ on the rare occasion he goes to an event, you’re always by his side. he’s quite quiet the entire night, which leaves you to handle most of the conversations and quick greetings. little do you know, he’s admiring your ability to work your way through a crowd.
✮ just because bruce is a homebody doesn’t mean he won’t take you out for dinner. he knows a few spots around the city that you love. sometimes he even surprises you with a short, but sweet, note on the counter, ‘dinner at 8. i’ll see you then, love you.’.
✮ he is such a gentleman. he always opens a door for you, hands you his suit jacket when it’s chilly, and makes sure to replace your weekly flowers every friday.
✮ you know about where he goes every night. it came out when you felt the bed dip for the fifth time that week at exactly six in the morning. bruce, of course, thought you were asleep. but when he was met with your wide worried eyes, he couldn’t keep it in anymore. you knew you couldn’t make him stop, so you were with him every step of the way. even with his adamant protests, you still took care of him every morning, and gave him a kiss every time he left at night.

thinking about bruce, who always seems to know what you want before you ask for it and will not hesitate to get it for you. thinking about bruce, who although he can sometimes get awkward with physical affection will never hesitate to hold you close if you’re having a bad day. thinking about bruce, who only ever feels soothed after a nightmare if he can call you and listen to your voice, even if he doesn’t always say anything himself. thinking about bruce, who loves having you clean the grease paint off his face when he gets back from a patrol, always craving the gentle way you touch his face in those moments. thinking about bruce, who doesn’t really like his voice and hesitates to sing in front of people, but will do it without question if you only ask.
thinking about bruce, who may be broken and violent and wary of almost everyone and everything, but who has found salvation and peace in you, the person he loves, and who fights with renewed vigor every time he dons his mask and takes to the streets, because he knows he would give his own life just to make the world a little safer for you.

Summary: After the sudden deaths of her mother and grandmother, y/n is forced to return home to Gotham…and to the man who broke her heart three years ago. Back in Bruce Wayne’s inescapable orbit, she vows to get to the bottom of her former best friend’s new cold personality. But Bruce’s secrets aren’t what she’s expecting.
a/n: Will I remain posting regularly? That remains to be seen by everyone, myself included....Because every single time I say something, I end up accidentally not posting for weeks. Anyways, enjoy!
Series Masterlist
word count: 2.7k
Two nights later, all Bruce could think about was that Alfred had been right.
He should have told y/n the truth while he had the chance.
“Where are you going?”
A full day had passed since y/n found the picture in the elevator, and she half-expected Bruce’s voice to be a dream when she turned around. She hadn’t slept much, except for a brief few hours where her body literally had shut down and forced her into unconsciousness. Fear was her constant companion, but now, when she turned to see Bruce standing behind her with his arms crossed, anger cut through the fog of fear like a spear of flame.
She mirrored his stance and crossed her own arms. “I’m going to let it slide since we’re all stressed, but try to boss me around again and see what happens.”
Both of their jaws were clenched tightly shut.
Bruce’s eyes narrowed. She could practically hear the words come out of his mouth, That’s not an answer.
“I asked Gordon to come up,” she finally said, caving, though the anger still simmered below the surface. The nerve that Bruce Wayne had to barely be home, to barely care about her, and still try to boss her around all the same. She was this close to punching him in the face or pushing him down the stairs. Or maybe she would pour ice cubes in his bed next time he was asleep. “And if you’re going to bother me every single time I’m next to the fucking elevator, think again.”
Bruce relaxed marginally, completely ignoring her barbed comment–which was probably for the best. She had no energy left to really fight, anyways.
Most of that energy had gone towards a preliminary article she had just submitted about the Gallo family. She hadn’t released any details about her involvement with them, merely reporting the fact that they were trying to make a move on Gotham.
She had debated doing the article at all. Was it better to pretend like nothing was happening? Was it better to keep her head down and wait for it to resolve itself, whether because of Gordon and the Batman or through the Gallos finally getting to her?
But then she realized that the people of Gotham deserved the truth, or at least as much of it she could get away with. She was already a target, but she didn’t need everyone else knowing that.
So she had simply decided to send an article to print that Gotham was on the brink of another mob takeover, just like all of the business with Falcone and Maroni and everyone else who had corrupted their city.
If only half of the city shared her views, y/n knew that they wouldn’t be happy with someone else trying to worm their way into their city. Gotham might be a shithole, but it was their shithole.
The moment she had hit send, it had hit her.
She didn’t want to be a sitting duck. She wanted to do something about it. She wanted those bastards gone. She wanted the work Bella Real and the Batman and cops like Gordon had done in the last year to stick–or at least have the chance of doing so.
She had called Gordon, told him she wanted to talk over some things, that she needed company anyways.
And now there she was, staring down the man who had broken her heart, waiting on Gordon to arrive on the elevator behind her.
“Gordon and I are going to have a private conversation,” she said pointedly as the elevator doors slid open behind her.
“Y/n,” Gordon said in greeting, but she still didn’t turn around. She and Bruce were still in the middle of their standoff. “Mr. Wayne. Good to see you again, at least under more…normal circumstances than last time.”
She raised an eyebrow at Bruce. She could tell he wanted to argue, wanted to stick around and stick his nose even further into her business. But after a long silence, he inclined his head and said, “Detective,” before turning and disappearing back the way he had come.
Once Bruce was safely out of earshot, she gave Gordon her full attention and said what had been on her mind the past couple of hours. Or, if she was being completely honest, the past several days.
“I want you to use me as bait, and I don’t want you to argue about it. I want you to help me actually figure out how to get rid of these motherfuckers.” She crossed her arms again for good measure.
Gordon sighed, long and loud. She expected an argument or a lecture or a combination of the two. But instead, all he said was, “We better bring our other friend into this discussion.”
–
“Absolutely not,” was the very first thing the Batman said when she laid out her plan.
“Yeah, well, as I like to point out to certain other people in my life, you’re not the boss of me. I’m going to do something stupid with or without your help, because I am fucking sick of this. Alright? I can’t live like this.” She shivered as a particularly brutal gust of wind cut through her.
They were on top of the signal tower. She and Gordon had decided together that it was easier to smuggle her out than it would be to smuggle Batman in. Besides, she didn’t want those two parts of her life mixing. God forbid Bruce find out what she was up to. She was arguing with him enough already.
Not to mention the fact that she didn’t want to disappoint Alfred, or cause him any more stress than she already had.
The smuggling had taken a willing female detective–a nice woman in her late thirties name Lori Ayers–trading places with y/n. They were relatively the same height and build luckily enough, and Detective Ayers was already assigned to the security on Wayne Tower. An outfit switch, a fake detective badge, and lots of praying later, and there they were. Y/n had asked Gordon and Ayers if she could have a gun, but both of them had practically shouted no in her face.
Gordon held up his hands, ever the peacekeeper. “Listen, man, I’m not saying we should put her in any unnecessary danger, but–”
“The whole idea is unnecessary danger!” The Batman cut in. His voice echoed in the darkness of the night around them.
Gordon continued as if he hadn’t spoken. “–but all I’m saying is that we aren’t any closer to catching these guys. None of us are. So if we can do something we know will draw them out…why not do it?” Gordon gave her a wry look. “And, like she said, it’s probably better to have us for backup before she does anything stupid on her own.”
Y/n gave Batman a triumphant look as if to say See? I’m right.
She studied him while he worked his jaw in annoyance. Was he sick of looking out for her? Because she was certainly sick of needing to be looked out for. She wanted to end it.
“Fine,” he said, the word a growl he spat out. She tried to resist pumping her fist in the air, she really did. He gave her a Look with a capital L that had her lowering it immediately. “But let me just–let me follow this last lead, alright? If it doesn’t pan out, we’ll make a plan. Give me tonight before you do anything stupid.”
She nodded eagerly. “Great, fine. I needed to get out of the house anyway.” Gordon was also giving her a Look. “What?” she said a bit defensively.
“You’re awfully upbeat for someone who wants to offer herself up for bait to the mob.” He raised one dark eyebrow above the frames of his glasses.
She shrugged. “Well, I have cabin fever, so this helped my mood immensely. Plus, the end is in sight. It’s about to be over, one way or another.”
Later, when she thought back to that moment, she would wonder if she had jinxed it. Or maybe she was simply jinxed all along, one thing leading to another, leading to its inevitable end. Leading to the only possible way it could play out. Her luck, ever since stepping foot back in Gotham–and even before then, ever since Alfred had knocked on her apartment door–had been nonexistent.
“One last lead,” Batman repeated, holding her gaze steadily for once. Something ran through her like an electric current at that look. Like he was trying to tell her something.
“One last lead,” she said, crossing her heart for good measure. “I promise I’ll be good.”
Gordon chuckled like he didn’t quite believe her. “Alright, let’s get back.”
“I’ll follow you,” Batman said, interrupting her thoughts of how she was going to get Gordon to sneak her past Bruce and Alfred both. She hadn’t told either of them she was leaving, and she didn’t want to think about what they would say to her if they found out. It would only make her life that much harder.
Her ride back with Gordon was mostly quiet.
“Where did you get this fake badge anyways?” she asked when Wayne Tower’s doors finally came into view. She toyed with it, noting all the ways it looked like the real deal. Maybe she could hold onto it…just in case.
“Confiscated it from a kid caught forging all kinds of stuff, including badges she used to get classified materials.”
She. Interesting. Sounded like somebody y/n would like to hang out with.
She didn’t say any of that out loud, however. All she did was hum and put the badge back on her belt.
“And no, I won’t give you her name,” Gordon said. Their eyes met and they both laughed in tandem.
“Fine, fine. I might be able to find it on my own anyway.” She winked.
They parked in an alley where Gordon or the other detectives on stakeout duty usually parked. As they stepped out into the cold air, Gordon’s phone rang.
“Just a second,” he said, stepping further towards the mouth of the alley. “I have to take this. Don’t move.” He pointed at threatening finger at her. She held up both hands in surrender.
He needn’t have worried–the sound of an approaching motorcycle reached her ears as Batman pulled into the alley behind them. The noise reverberated off of the building walls for a moment before abruptly shutting off. Gordon locked eyes with him, inclined his head, and then answered the phone while striding towards the street ahead.
“So,” she said casually to Batman as he stood broodily in the shadows. “Think I could have been a detective in another life?” She struck a little pose in her smart, borrowed business suit and trench coat, imagining the fake badge glinting in the low light.
Batman made a noise that could have been a scoff or a laugh. “Sure, except you would have been fired for repeatedly breaking the rules. And laws.”
She laughed delightedly. “You’re probably right.” She definitely had chosen the only profession that suited her nosiness and penchant for getting into trouble, something Bruce had pointed out years ago.
“I’m definitely right.”
They were closer together than she expected, the toes of their shoes almost touching. She wasn’t sure how that had happened. It was if they had both been drawn in by the other’s gravity, invisible and inevitable. He stared down at her for a moment before, of course, turning his face away.
“There you go again,” she murmured as she memorized the line of his jaw. “Scared to look me in the eyes.” She reached out and poked his stubbled cheek gently. He froze, but didn’t make a move to step away.
“I’m scared for you,” he said in an equally soft voice that sent shivers over her skin. “I don’t want you to have to offer yourself up. I don’t like thinking that I might not be able to keep you safe.”
Y/n felt each of his words sink into her like rocks in a deep lake, sinking down and down and down until they settled at the bottom, heavy in her stomach. She was staring up at him now, their breath mingling, and he was finally, finally looking back.
She opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out.
Instead, she did the next best thing.
She stretched up onto her toes and kissed him.
He went so still she immediately knew she had overstepped–and had overstepped badly. She quickly pulled away, face on fire, eyes straining to find anything to look at other than the rejection in his eyes. Stupid, that was so stupid. Just because he wanted her safe didn’t mean that he wanted her to kiss him.
But before she got too far, his gloved hand caught her arm and tugged her closer. And then he was kissing her.
She inhaled deeply, her stomach doing somersaults in a way it had never done before. She was flying above Wayne Tower yet still somehow firmly rooted to the ground. It was like she could finally breathe again and yet somehow she was gasping for breath. His lips were gentle. One of his hands cupped her elbow while the other splayed across her upper back. She wished he had his gloves off, like that moment in another alley on another night. She wanted to feel his skin against hers.
Then he was gone, a full step away.
She couldn’t help it–her fingers traced her lips in a daze.
They were staring at each other, both breathing slightly heavier than they had been before.
“Alright, let’s go,” Gordon called from behind her somewhere. She couldn’t bring it within herself to care if he had seen or not. Her and the Batman were still staring at each other, in their own world, a seismic shift between them.
“Goodnight,” she said, her voice low and raspy with want.
“Be safe,” was all the Batman said as he watched her go.
Gordon didn’t look at her like he had just seen them kissing, but she felt as if it were written all over her face.
“Crime never sleeps,” he said to her as they walked the short distance to the doors. His head was constantly swiveling, searching for danger, and she knew a certain vigilante was watching from the shadows as well.
Her entire body was electric, every nerve ending on fire, heat settling in her face and chest and lower, too.
For once, she wasn’t wondering about who the Batman was. Her mind had been rendered totally blank by one kiss. She wasn’t even thinking about how he wasn’t Bruce Wayne, like every other kiss of her life.
Instead it simply felt…right.
She blinked and they were somehow inside.
“Blake, can you escort Detective Ayers upstairs? I have to go to a crime scene.” Gordon gave Blake a long, searching look. Y/n knew that the moment the security guard looked up, he would recognize her.
Sure enough, he did. His face did something complicated before he realized what Gordon said and stammered out, “S-sure. This way, Detective, um, Ayers.” He hit something on the computer keyboard, scrambling, having to hit whatever button it was a second time.
“See you later,” Gordon said to her, the words full of meaning.
She turned towards him and nodded. “Goodnight.”
It felt stupid, pretending to be someone else in the lobby of her home, but they still didn’t know who had breached security two nights earlier. She knew it was better to be safe than sorry, but Blake knew who she was. What was to stop whoever worked for the Gallos from recognizing her as well? She imagined their pub, Maverick’s, covered in hundreds of stalkery photos of her.
Gordon waved over his shoulder as she and Blake stepped into the elevator. As soon as the doors slid closed, y/n relaxed a bit. Everything was almost over.
And she had kissed the Batman.
A smile grew on her face before she could stop it.
When she glanced up, Blake was watching her.
His upper lip and his hairline were beaded with sweat and he was much paler than normal.
“Are you okay?” she asked, wondering if maybe he was sick. Something in her gut shivered with warning.
“I’m so sorry–” he said, the words choked. “I’m so sorry. They have my sister.”
That’s when she saw the glint of a needle in his hand.

I LOVE how you write the Riddler, really soft for a yandere. If you're willing, could you please from the alphabet do D, E and I for him? I'm starving,,, thank you.
Thank you, I'm so glad you like it! Soft yanderes are my favorite <3 hope you like these ^^
---
D - Depraved: Does your yandere have a shrine? (If so, what's on it?)
I don't think Ed is really the type to have a dedicated shrine, though I do think he'd have keepsakes of yours around his work area or on his person. Pictures of you, writings or doodles you may have made that he was able to snatch up (maybe even saved out of the trash), pieces of clothing that he was able to cut or rip off… You know, normal stuff! Little things to sate him while he couldn't be with you.
I can also see him considering the crimes he committed in your names as a sort of ‘shrine to your love’.
E - Erratic: How unpredictable are they? How quick are mood changes?
Ed prefers sticking to plans when it comes to his crimes, but he can be prone to unpredictability when it comes to social interactions, typically. He can be prone to paranoia and reading into things. Inconsequential words or even a change in tone or expression could be suddenly seen as slights or insults against The Riddler, which can lead to explosions of anger and accusations of betrayal towards civilians, the authorities, Batman, or in the latter case, his hired help.
But with you, Riddler feels at ease. Any paranoia is soothed by your presence. With you, he feels so at ease. So right. His equal. His match. His soulmate! Any desperate need for validation is quelled by you. Even if you argue and fight with him, he'd know it's not anything you have against him - well, not really. It's not your fault you've been lied to! You'll understand that you and he were meant to be after he helps you unlearn all the horrible things the idiots of this city have force-fed you.
After all, if you weren't perfect for one another, why did he feel so safe and secure with you?
I - Intimacy: How intimate are they with their darling?
Ed is so touch-starved it's not even funny. He never wanted to be separated from you! Be prepared to be basically smothered in affection. Hugging, cuddling, nuzzling, smothering you in kisses - everything he's missed out on, he wants to finally make up for. All his time spent waiting for the perfect partner is finally worth it now that you're here! And as stated above, he won't get angry if you don't reciprocate. You're just confused, it's okay.
Any attempts at fighting him or cursing him out will just lead to him cooing to you condescendingly as he ties you up in restraints so you can calm down… Though, he may not be able to hold back from being affectionate before you're done with your time-out. He just adored you so much! You know, exposure therapy is a very effective treatment for aversions, and this would be the perfect opportunity to show how wrong all those fools in this cesspool of a city were.

Well, can you write a batman x fem!reader where the reader is a super hero (like catwomans superhero version or smth) and they just keep meeting at crime scenes and always flirt and stuff and end up dating?
obsessed much? — b.w blurb
summary: request above!
pairing: bruce wayne x superhero!reader
warnings: murder; hero wears acape
word count: 360
A/N: hii tysm for this request! i haven’t been writing much lately since my ‘aftermath’ fic, so this isn’t as big as you probably wanted, it just really made me want to write it as a blurb. maybe i’ll write a full fic about it later. also, i know a lot of people hate cape-wearing heroes but i absolutely love the goofy cliche, so i had to add that in. let me know what you guys think!
he’s kneeling near the body with the putrid smell of blood flowing into his nostrils. the puzzle pieces are coming together, but there’s still a big one missing. the shadows devours him into the room. what isn’t he seeing? slowly, the sound of heels hitting the ground approach his back.
“i thought heroes didn’t do investigations.” the first reply is a scoff, then the cape rustling.
“i don’t,” she says, “but this one hits home.” bruce turns around to stare the deep round eyes, one of the few things he could see underneath her mask. her suit fits perfectly in her curves, the stretchy and non-flammable fabric accommodating her fight needs. perfect for running around town. it wasn’t bulletproof, though, because the stone-hard skin was all the protection she needed. the cape was just for fun. “i saved this dude from a train wreck last week. thought it was a malfunction, it sure as hell doesn’t seem that way anymore.”
“you think someone is targeting you.” she hums in response, a chill running down her spine. all she wanted to do was to use her gifts for the good of the city. somehow, that ended up with the total of four murders so far.
“they want to get my attention, i just don’t know why.” a pout appears in her puffy lips. he wonders what they feel like. he takes the plastic gloves off, staying with the leather ones, and lays them on the floor.
“who wouldn’t?” as he gets up, a snarky grin lightens her face up. they’ve always been this good in making the other forget the bodies in the room. literally.
“obsessed much?” one step in his direction leaves them inches apart. he still thinks it’s way too far. the height difference has her looking up, batting her eyelashes. “maybe you’re the killer, batboy.”
“it’s batman.” his voice is baritone and raspy, and she can feel his warm breath on her cheeks. one move and his hands would be on her. her heart beats shamelessly on her chest, like drums inside her body. his gaze is so penetrating she has to look away before answering.
“right. cute.”

My Spaghetti and Meatballs
Summary: imagine giving Eddie simple human decency and he definitely gets stalkerish and insane.
Characters: Edward Nashton x fem! Reader
Minors DNI / +18 Only
Subject: Smut! Stalking, voyeurism, anxiety reader, aesthetically pleasing content, extreme attachment/abandonment issues, orphanage, unprotected sex (practice safe sex everyone)
Words: 2.0k
Side notes: I’ve been bored lately and needed to dribble some stories down. I’ve been sickly obsessed with pauly poo. This was inspired by the spaceman intereview he did with adam sandler and fantasmas tv show.
You hummed a tune to yourself to keep calm.. You were very hungry and you planned on making spaghetti and meatballs for yourself. But also of course to help save money by having leftovers. Some of your anxiety started to kick in because it was a little dark outside in the city and you were alone commuting to the grocery store. Even though Gotham had its reputation it wasn’t much you could do but always look out for yourself. You had on beat up converse shoes and warm auburn fall peacoat on in a cool first week of October. You were about average looking (in your own opinion) and didn’t draw much response from other strangers.
"Ok" you mouth to yourself, while looking at your grocery list in your notes. I need noodles, ground beef, etc . You mumbled to yourself and looked down the aisle for each ingredient.
“H-hey excuse me” you snapped your head up and looked at the man in front of you.
“Hi” you gave a dry response before realizing who it was.
“O-oh my goodness, Eddie!..” you swiveled your items out of your basket in your hand before bringing him in a hug. Edward gasped a little, finally seeing you in front of him. It has almost been years but it only felt like yesterday since he saw you in the very flesh directly talking to him. He has been following you and keeping touch with you since the day you guys both turned eighteen, but technically you both have been on your own since sixteen from the orphanage. It was one of the worst days of his life, when you finally were taken into an adoptive family at the late age of sixteen years old.
It felt like a jab to his stomach losing the family member he created within himself. The foster parents didn’t mean anything to him, the real mother he had was you. You were his sister, mother and girlfriend he needed. You were everything he needed of course.Edward knew he wasn’t going to be adopted, but he didn’t care. He stared at you barely able to make out any last words. Just your presence and knowing you were ok was what all he needed to know. As long as you were protected and were there for him, he could continue on. He knew you like the back of his hand. Some days he could go without checking on you, but he had to make sure you were still ok. Sometimes he would send money and support to your live stream, and fantasize of the costume you put on display for that video. It was his ritual.
“You look good Eds, you’re still just as adorable and sweet growing up” you couldn’t help but squeeze his pink cheeks together and peck him on the cheek. Words couldn’t describe what he meant to you. You and Eddie were the only ones who tried to survive the foster home life and survive shitty school years too. You both slept together in the same bunk rooms, you slept in his bed when he was scared and rubbed him to sleep, you made sure his favorite cereal was there, even if the other kids sometimes would get greedy and not share. You cleaned his glasses for him, bought him clothes with little money you did have from your high school job. He was your baby. He gave you meaning when nothing else felt like so. Eddie's face turned a flush red. A rush of happiness and warmth swept over his body that he never felt in awhile. But it has been awhile since anyone showed him any type of affection and especially coming from you. Any type of praise from you sent him over the edge and he wanted more.
“I missed you too, I wanted to make sure you were still doing ok, I see you’re working now and have your own life” Eddie wanted to know if you had a boyfriend. He couldn’t afford to have you keep any secrets away from him. “Yea I’ve been more happy than I've ever been, my own money, own life, no worries, it’s great.” You notice how upset your Eddie looked. “Why don’t you come over to my apartment, I’m making your favorite” you smiled. If Eddie could cry of happiness he could. He wanted to ball up in bed with you and cuddle as long as he could. “That would be great” he pushed the rim of his glasses up and followed you out to purchase the groceries.
You both arrived at your apartment that was dimly lit with your tv still on. “Oh uh sorry for the mess I don’t usually like to clean up until I get the energy to sometimes.” You wanted to make Eddie feel at home like he always felt. “Um just sit over there Eds you can watch tv if you like, there’s a blanket over there”
“It’s ok I’ll just watch tv from here, you always go above and beyond for me” Eddie was just happy to finally have you here and inside your apartment. He looked around taking in the different furniture, decor and things you had inside your place. He notices your desktop and computer in the corner of the room with a gaming chair just like in your videos you use.
You took off your jacket and lit a bunch of candles that you had decorated on your kitchen counters.
You wondered what Eddie was doing around lately. He didn’t seem like the type to hang around town alone. But maybe he has changed now that he is older. You let the noodles boil and create your special tomato sauce in a separate pan.
“Sooo eddie what have you been eating now huh? Frozen dinners?” you joked while looking at him mindlessly watching tv. He looked so cute with his big puppy dog eyes.
“Very funny but I make do with whatever I can make myself” he smiled. “But I always miss your food ” He watched the tv hoping this moment would never end. Your cheek flushed a bit red hearing him talk. Eddie was somewhat of an old soul, he reminded of guys who deserve everything in the world, but was just sort of awkward. But it was nice finally having him around, it did feel a bit lonely not having anyone around, but you wouldn’t change it for the world, finally having your peace and independence living your life. The tomato sauce smelled amazing in the entire room. You pour the paste inside the noodles and mix it well together. You brought a plate to Eddie with a fork. Eddie smiled and felt like he was home once again. You sat next to him curled up on the side watching whatever show was on.
“So what do you do now for work?” You nervously peeled your fingernails. Eddie chewed with a mouth full of food before he talked.
“Nothing much, just a financial analyst at a company, but I guess it’s ok” he hummed while he ate. “Oh that’s good to hear” you watch him with adoration while he stuffed his face.
“Do you mind if I stay here for the night? I think it’s supposed to be a really bad storm tonight.” Edward looked at you with his eyes. “Of course it’s not a problem at all,” you smiled. “Here I’ll get you some towels and stuff for a shower.” Edward watches you leave, seeing you disappear in your bedroom. He wondered what your bedroom looked like. If it was normal and basic or with different colors with many pillows.
“Um the towels and stuff are in this closet if you need them, you gesture the closet against the wall” you showed him. “Ok” he nodded.
“I’ll just jump in the shower real quick” you told him before making your way out. Eddie gave you a reassuring nod before looking out the autumn window noticing the seasons beginning to change. He hated the fact that he lied to you, but it was the only way he could stay any much longer here with you. He watched you make your way into the bathroom to cleanse yourself up. Eddie pants began to harden listening to the echo of the water running down your body and your nude body lathered up with soap.
His aching bulged pressed against him. He tossed the blanket over his legs to casually cover his member.
To make matters even worse you came out of the steaming hot shower with a sexy baby doll gown and fluff slippers. “It’s all yours Eddie” you sat next to him on the sofa in a sigh of relief. “Thanks” he managed before striding in the bathroom. You cover yourself up with a cozy blanket and turn the channels to see what else is on cable.
Eddie noticed used pads and looked inside your dirty laundry basket. You had a pretty lace black thong that had trimmed lace around it. He balled up the fabric and stuffed two more pairs inside his pocket before jumping into your shower. Eddie missed everything about you and your warmth. The way you took care of everything around him. Then finally he slowly came back out with only his clothes but with a tank top and his boxer briefs.
“Come cuddle with me Eddie” you laying gently on top of him. “You know I’m glad you’re doing ok eddie” you held him close feeling him.
“Me too” he mumbled in heaven. You felt his bulge between your legs and tried to make sure you weren’t imagining it. Eddie couldn’t manage to get it down even after taking a shower. He wanted you so badly right at that moment. “Do you need help with this?” you whispered while moving your hand to his boxers. “Umm yes” he groaned. “I can help” you push your hand down in his boxers and rub the precum that glossed over his dick.
“Just like that?” you managed to say.
“Y-yes” he groaned again. You pull yourself up to kiss him on the lips before rubbing his member a little harder. Eddie bucked his hips to your hand as you continued your pace.
You moaned from feeling him get pleasure from it.
“Can I put it in me Eddie?” you asked him before stopping.
“Of course I want you now,” he demanded. You slide your panties off and stick it in slowly before riding him at a slow deliberate pace. Eddie held onto your hips as guiding for you to go quicker.
“Oh Eddie” you moaned, lowering yourself to kiss him passionately. His hands roamed under your gown and greedily gave your plump boobs a squeeze. You whimper feeling him take control. Eddie could barely catch his breath before his mouth met your soft nipples. You gave out a loud moan rocking your hips harder with him grazing your wet insides.
“Mmmm” you threw your head back and felt him touch your g spot.
“Right there baby” Eddie put on his glasses and now watched you with his emerald eyes. “I’m going to come” Eddie murmured before cumming his load inside of you. You stop your pace before catching your breath.
There was a rumble of thunder outside before you both realized what was happening. “I’m glad you’re here to keep me safe huh?” you giggled. “I guess so, we always had each other's backs, remember?”
“I do” you cooed. Eddie pulled himself out of you before covering the blanket with both of you falling asleep.

Cuddling with the Batman
- Cuddling with the Batman, aka Bruce Wayne, is a therapeutic experience.
- His cuddles are a solace from the dark world outside.
- You lazily trace his scars that litter his body from various injuries in awe of how much this man can withstand.
- Cuddles are a daily occurrence for the two of you.
- He comes back from a mission and you’re there to patch him up and make him feel at home.
- The Batman cherishes these little moments with you.
- It helps him know that he’s safe with you and it keeps him grounded despite his line of work.
- You love being wrapped up in a big blanket with him in his gigantic four post framed bed.
- Alfred is there to cater to your needs and bring you whatever snacks and drinks that you desire.

Title: Having Relations
Pairing(s): Bruce Wayne x Female Reader
Warning(s): SMUT!!! MINORS DNI! 18+ only!
One of my first smuts, please don’t hate 😭
______________
It was quiet throughout Wayne Manor, not a single sound could be heard through the home. Damian, Tim, Dick and Jason were hanging out with friends. Alfred was out for the weekend, and that left you and Bruce all alone.
Lately, the two of you have been too busy to spend time together, let alone it being ‘alone time’. That’s why you’re upstairs doing your hair and makeup. At this point, you look like you could be on the cover of Playboy. Your hair was curled in big curls, and your makeup looked like it had been done by a professional.
You fixed the last few strands of hair, and put on a little bit of Bruce’s favorite color of lipstick. You puckered at the mirror, and looked at yourself.
You were wearing a black push-up bra and a pair of black panties. Then you put on a silk robe to cover up with, until you went down to Bruce’s study. A black pair of loubotin heels tied the entire outfit together. As you were walking out the door, you remembered how much Bruce loved Ralph Lauren’s Romance perfume on you.
Quickly you sprayed it all over and dabbed it onto your wrists and neck. After you gave one last look in the mirror, you walked down the long stair case. Before you walked into the study, you adjusted your breasts so they were perky and held up just enough.
You peered around the doorway, and Bruce was sitting at his desk with his reading glasses on. He was sipping on some bourbon, and his attention was completely devoted to whatever paperwork he was looking at.
When Bruce didn’t notice you, you walked up behind him and laid your head on his back. “Hey, doll.” He said quietly, and you breathed in his scent.
“Need a refill?” You asked, and he held up the glass. “Yes. That would be great.” He replied, and you walked over to the liquor cabinet.
Slowly, you poured the liquid into the glass with ice. You walked back behind Bruce, and handed him the glass. He mumbled a quiet: ‘thank you’, and not once did he look back.
You walked over to the front of his desk and stood there, waiting for him to notice. Once he looked up, you smiled. Bruce took his glasses off, “Already going to bed, darling?” He asked, and you shook your head.
Biting your bottom lip, you untied the silk robe, and let it slide down your *almost* naked body. Bruce smiled, “What are you doing?” He asked, and you sat down on the couch in front of him.
You spread your legs just a little bit so he could a glimpse of what he had been missing. Bruce’s cheeks turned red, “The boys and Alfred are all going to be gone for a while. So I figured we could have fun.” You said as you played with your bra strap. “We could have fun like we use to, Mr. Wayne…”
After you said that, Bruce’s eyes darkened. He sat his glasses down, and stood up from his chair. Slowly, he made his way over to you, but you stood up to meet him halfway. His eyes scanned your entire body, “You’re so sexy, Mrs.Wayne.” He whispered as his hand caressed your cheek.
Bruce titled your jaw back so he could kiss your lips. His tongue grazed your bottom lip, and he grabbed your ass. When you let out a gasp, he pushed his tongue into your mouth. He brought his hand down to your neck, and his hand gently rested there.
His other hand cupped your cheek, and his thumb ran over your bottom lip. “You’re so gorgeous.” He whispered as he looked into your eyes.
“I need you Bruce.” You whispered back and his hands slowly dragged your bra straps down your shoulders, revealing your breasts.
Bruce gently pinched your nipple, and began kissing you from your chin, to your neck, and all the way down to the middle of your chest. He made his way down to your navel, and now he was where your panties were.
You breathing was shaky, and he looked up at you. “You smell so good, Y/N. Are you wearing that perfume I got you?” He asked, and you nodded.
“Good girl.” He whispered, as he pulled down your panties, revealing your wet pussy. The cold air made you gasp, and Bruce didn’t waste a minute. He had you pushed down onto to the couch and spread your legs, and placed them over his shoulders.
His fingers ran through your wet slit, “Already so wet for me, Mrs. Wayne.” His tongue delved straight in. Bruce sucked on your clit, making you jump, but his hands held down your hips.
His tongue lapped up all of your juices; he moaned as he ate you out. “So delicious, baby.” He said before going back to work.
You were so close to coming, but you pulled him up to your lips. You could taste yourself on his lips and tongue, but you were ready for him.
Next thing you knew, Bruce was on top of you. But you took control and flipped him over. He smiled at your dominance, “Are you taking control baby?” He asked.
All you could do was smile. You tore open his shirt revealing his toned abs; you sunk to your knees on the floor. You licked from his chest down to abs, leaving hickies on the way down.
Bruce began to unbuckle his pants, revealing the thick line from his cock. You were already drooling, at the outline of his cock, so you took it upon yourself to reach into his pants and pull it out.
Precum was already dripping from his tip. Before you could get your mouth around him, Bruce pulled you up, “No, I want to feel you.” He pulled you up onto his lap, and you aligned yourself with his thick cock.
You gently started to lower yourself onto him, and Bruce let out a groan. “You feel so good, baby.” After a few minutes of riding him, Bruce flipped you down on your stomach, and began to fuck you from behind.
He gave your ass a slap, leaving a red hand print. The sounds of skin slapping together filled the entire room. You moaned with every thrust, and it encouraged Bruce to keep going.
His thumb rubbed your clit, and you were a moaning mess. “I’m about to cum…” you whined and Bruce stopped.
“Not yet princess.” He said and he flipped you onto your back. “What a pretty pussy…” he said before pushing his cock back into you.
You couldn’t hold it back any longer, your juices coated his cock, and you finally released all over him. Bruce groaned as he came all inside you, coating your insides.
Bruce pulled out of you, and grabbed the blanket lying across the couch. He covered your naked body and laid down next to you. “We need to make more time for this.” He said and you laughed.
“How about every weekend?” You asked, and he looked over and smiled at you. “Do you have it in you to go another round?” He asked, and you smiled brightly, pressing a kiss to his lips. “We better hurry before the-”
“Mom? Father? We’re home!” You heard Damian call out and you rested your head on Bruce’s shoulder. He caressed your shoulder, “It’s not too late to jump out the window and go get in the Benz, and go rent a hotel room.” He said, and footsteps approached the study.
“Boys, don’t come in—-”
Damian flung the door open, “Mom, Dad, Jason is a complete and total— why are you guys laying like that? Why are there clothes all over the floor? Are you guys okay?”
Jason walked in after him and covered his eyes, “OH MY GOD! DAMIAN, THEY’RE HAVING RELATIONS YOU MORON!”
Damian turned pale, “Oh…oh my…” he covered his eyes, and turned to run. But he ran into the wall next to the door, knocking himself out.
“Damian!” You sat up with the blanket wrapped around your body.
Jason grabbed Damian by the arm and dragged him out of the room. The door slammed behind them, and you looked down at Bruce. “I think we scarred Damian…” you whispered and Bruce chuckled.
“He needs to learn how to knock.”

A/N: I've missed writing for Eddie 🥹 hope you enjoy reading! And happy 2nd anniversary to The Batman movie!! Can't believe I fell in love with the film and its characters two solid years ago, and super hyped for the sequel 🖤 A Bruce Wayne/Battinson imagine will be coming soon, so stay tuned!!
Wordcount: 1.3k
Time period: Riddler Year One, Issue 6 (beginning of The Batman)
He hated it when you were gone this long.
It was okay if he knew where you were, if you were working or out with a couple of friends, someplace he could track you through your phone. Through windows. Through anything. As long as the sun was still out and he knew exactly where you were, could reach you whenever he wanted, he could keep his grip on his mentality, and at least half-focus on his plans and preparations.
But he couldn't do any of that right now. Which led to the inevitable.
Pacing his shabby little apartment that you somehow managed to make a little brighter, tidier, something close to home, closer than he'd ever got before. But now, it was cold and dark and empty, painfully quiet, apart from his uneven, staggering breaths that Edward tried in vain to swallow down.
'Breathe.'
It was a simple job. Too simple. Sneak into the Penguin's rooms at the Iceberg Lounge, plant the bug, slip out again, unnoticed. And you would either be very much unnoticed, blending in perfectly with. there's of the deceptively beautiful girls and boys who danced and flirted and drank at the bars and around round tables and tall, glossy silver poles stretching up into the high ceilings of the club. Or you would be pulled aside by some pervert that thought you were as pretty as Edward himself did, maybe by the Penguin, or that pig Falcone.
He shouldn't have set you. Too risky. Send a follower? No, too complicated; not enough of them yet, everything still growing and finalising, piecing together in a lovely puzzle crafted by his mind. You might well go unnoticed, but if he dared go himself, it would be a horror show.
This was a baadddd idea.
The smooth click and glide of the lock twisting and opening up the heavy front door made him flinch out of his thoughts, murky green eyes jumping to the short hallway with hope and fear in his gaze. The same hope a puppy gets when its owner comes back home, the same fear a madman harbours in a dizzying craze, living off the what-ifs and obsessions their mind feeds them in the darkness.
When he speaks, it's in a rush, words tripping over each other and his voice catching, stumbling forwards to grip onto your shoulders with his soft but firm, trembling grip.
"You were gone too long," Edward insists, his fingers digging into the fabric of your sweater, searching for your warmth and reassurance, his eyes trying to take in every part of your face at once. "Too long... and I was worrying, and I felt sick, and I- you can't do it again, please, please, because-"
"It's alright, Eddie," you cut him short gently in amusement and sympathy, your arms fitting snugly around his neck as you embrace him. You easily fill him shiver at the contact, starving, aching, as he hugs you back with enough force to make you breathless, digging his face in your neck needily with a soft whining sound.
It's almost funny, how desperate and childlike he can be, all big green eyes sparkling with joy and awe at how readily you give your affections to him, his skin bare of any sweet touch from another being in Gotham other than yours. But he doesn't want anyone else's now, anyway. The rest of Gotham can sink into its corruption, and his hope incarnate can dance above the waves.
He gazes up at you in a slight daze, speechless, and you smile at him the way you do, the way that makes him smile back in giddy wonder, his thoughts spinning around and around like a carousel, all bright, pure lights and ethereal tunes.
"I miss you," Edward mumbles, half to himself, his stare wandering to study your eyes, your nose, your lips. "Always."
"I missed you too," you reply earnestly, "but it was worth it. I did what you said."
He blinks at your words, his attention circling back as he looks up into your eyes in curiosity and a sweet, almost innocent light, one that doesn't at all match the moment.
"I bugged his office," you clarify, nodding, "in and out. No one saw my face, and if they did, they won't remember it."
Edward lets out a slow breath, his expression loosening from intrigue and thought to the depths bubbling to the surface, his eyes spiked with venom and his words hushed with a small smirk.
"Oh," he mumbles, before giggling slightly, blinking up at you in pride and unhinged malice. "I love you."
You beam at his words, your fingers stroking down the plump curve. of his cheek, an action that makes him shudder and his breath catch in his throat, his eyes round and adoring.
"I love you too, Ed."
"I- I'll give you everything," he promises, his words rolling into lovestruck rambles between repeating your name, "everything I have. Every... everything."
There's that strange but familiar feral hunger in his eyes, not violent, but full of untethered passion and obsession, of love and lust, of everything he's never experienced before. And now that he is, he wants it all, wants it now, to feel everything at once and lose himself in endless spirals of pleasure and ecstasy that rakes up his spine and makes his voice crack and break-
"I'll never," Edward continues in a whisper, tugging you deeper into his arms, walking back and down onto his couch and pulling you with him, "never let you go. Everything will happen as it should, and I'll be there to get you... again, and again, and again, and again, and-"
You let him keep rambling on, his cheek rubbing against yours and ducking into the hot curve of your neck like a cat, his damp lips skimming your skin mindlessly, hanging onto you with his surprisingly strong grip, even though there's nowhere else to go. Tonight, there's nothing but the Riddler, his arms trapping you inside all that he is.
Black and green screens of computers running code down their displays absently fills the night with an eerie but almost comforting glow, polaroid pictures of his targets, red ink scribbled harshly in question marks and accusations over the glossy print. For you, there's a separate case of shots, most taken with you knowing, across the room in his apartment, with Edward grinning and giggling when you glare at him weakly in amusement and protest at the constant flashes and printing of pictures and mugshots.
No escape. None at all. You're with him for life, because you let him in, and like a virus, he ran through everything that makes you, you, drinking it in and fantasizing up until this very moment. A moment where Edward forgot about the blood he shed and the streams up for his cult following, the big board pinned with pictures and news clippings and rage in the form of black and white. He just clung to you fiercely, inhaled you, to do it all again the next morning, still trembling with the warmth and tremors of raw desire and love.
I am there, but cannot be seen," he whispers in your ear, nuzzling impossibly closer to you, his fingers lacing with yours, "to have me costs you nothing. To be without me costs you everything. What am I?"
You've heard this one before. It was in one of the little notes he left you during your first few meetings with him, and every one of his riddles seemed to have something to do with you, with how he saw you, absolutely angelic with no flaws, no blemishes, gorgeously unharmed by the wicked world of Gotham.
"Hope?" you guess correctly, glancing up at him expectantly, and he giggles again, his fingers tracing over your lips boldly, caught up in the moment and his own wonderful world of puzzles and clues.
"Or," Edward smiles brightly at you, resting his forehead against yours... and answering with your name.

Sins of the Father(s) V
Masterlist
Previous chapter - Next
Bruce Wayne (Battinson) x Reader
Crossposted on Ao3
Summary:
where is your faith? In the light and its blinding brightness? In a forest of terror and fathomless darkness? In a sea of doubt and unending questions? How can you still believe? in the midst of deafening silence and its hollowness? The dead know only one thing, it is better to be alive. And the alive know but one thing, to wish for the kiss of death.
Chapter V: Is Pius pious 'cause God loves pious? (Socrates asked whose bias do y'all seek? All for Plato, screech)
ִֶ. . ..𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ🦇་༘࿐
You often wondered why the world had to be so complicated. When you would ask your father about all the complexities of the world he would say that such complex thoughts were not fitting for a girl so young. You felt safe in your conviction that as your parents, your mother and father would have all the answers you were seeking in them with your questions. You were much disappointed when you found that not to be the truth.
‘Curiosity killed the cat,’ your father would say, ‘But satisfaction brought it back’ you would counter back, earning a pat on the head pushed by your father’s exhaustion with your need for erudition. He did often ask himself where you got it from - not that he complained, he delighted in having a daughter so ready for the world, it did lift a weight of responsibility in not having to teach you matters that you were more than eager to take in your hands. Which is why, he did not wish to halt you in your path.
Your hunger, your strife for more, he had mistook it as a disciplinary one. He was wrong, you much later realized. You were no scholar, you didn’t study to learn, to become better than others or to achieve more. No, you did it out of curiosity, to understand the conditions of life. You much prefer to dive into a topic that got your attention than for it to be demanded so by your teachers. All of a sudden whatever topic they gave you to research became boring, you were sure that you would have enjoyed it much more had you had a choice in whether or not you had to open a book about it and read it. But you understood, that as the eldest, there were expectations, silent expectations, that you were required for you to fulfil. No one spoke of them, but your parents wanted you to do great things in life. You were sure they would still love you were you to not achieve what they wished of you, but you weren’t sure they would be happy about it regardless. They too had been products of such upbringing, and despite the fact that they allowed failure to be an opportunity, no such discretion was given to them. Especially your father.
But alas, not everyone can do as they please. Not all of us have such an easy way of doing only what we wish, only when we wish it. It doesn’t matter what you want, only what is required of you.
Knowledge is power, the most powerful weapon one can possess; a power that can come in many forms, free and limited, necessitous and fruitful. A power many possess more than others. When limited, it can constrain others in finding other ways to acquire it. Your father wishes for you to be bound full of such power, as he had been. So he made you attend private, afternoon lessons with the vice provost of an all-boys academy on the outskirts of Gotham he had been made to attend in his youth. At the time it had been but a hovel of sorts, just rising from the ashes of its first birth, only becoming the prestigious structure it is today because of the success of its many alumni, like your father.
To say you were bored out of your mind would just undermine the empty chambers echoing where your brain supposedly is. The sky outside was clouded, spotted by grey clouds that shielded such an uneventful February day; the clear sky lay beyond them trying to peak through the fast-paced, passing murky mass of fluffy galore. All so very enticing as you sat at the alumni desk reserved and prepared just for you in the provost’s office, or one would think so for a girl of ten years old with a very limited attention span, especially when being taught such an inspid topic.
The Constitution and the government it’s based upon.
“The Constitution establishes a Federal democratic republic which is also the system of the Federal Government; it is democratic because the people govern themselves; and it is a republic because the Government's power is derived from its people.” The provost’s voice echoed like white noise in your ears as they tried their best to block out the bothersome sound “As such, a constitutional government uses a written constitution to set forth the values and principles of government and to establish and limit its powers” he said “and how do we do that, Miss?” He asked you. You spaced in between his words, your mind focusing on anything but what he had asked you.
Particularly appealing to you now was the raven standing high on guard, resting upon the wooden log set on the provost's desk. You thought he must made for an annoying companion with its crackling noises, especially when one sought silence and its comfort. It crackled at you as if to urge you to answer the question, following its master’s wishes and demands. You wondered if the raven was his pet or a memorabilia he held for being part of the academy he was a highly esteemed professor of. The raven was their sigil of honour, after all.
“Through the law” you appeased, finally.
“Precisely”, the old man brightened at your engagement to the lecture and your knowledge despite your lack of attention, which although aware of, he made no reprimanding remark about. “And the law is set to make sure that every man is equally judged before it,” he explained “ ‘Equal justice under law’ they say or rather ‘All shall be equal before the law’. You can underline that”
Your fountain pen scratched at the paper as you pressured the tip of it, letting more ink fall free in the bold line you were lining under the words you had written in your notebook.
“Is it true, though?” This time, it seemed it was you who was not appeased by the provost’s words “Is what true, Miss?” He perked slightly at your question, curious about the inquiry.
“That we’re all equal under the law”
He took a moment to reflect on your words before taking his glasses off, folding them and placing them in the pocket of his finely pressed jacket as he walked closer to you, sitting at the chair before your desk. He seemed, eerily distuberd by the question, almost blown away by it, as if he had not been asked that in a long time or was not expected to be asked. Whatever the case, it did make him hesitate and hesitation often comes from wanting to give the right answer. You deserve that, of all.
“In an ideal world, we would be. Some would say we already are, but they only say so because they’ve never been at the receiving hand of what it means to not be able to afford this equality” his words held a hint of caution as if he was speaking out of turn, about something he shouldn’t be saying “I’ve been asked to teach you everything, so I will teach you this too. The truth is that some people are more equal than others” he wet his lips, which had grown chapped and dry from all the talking he had been doing until now “As a great writer once said ‘All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.’”
“George Orwell”
“Very, very good, Miss " he smiled. “I see you’ve gone ahead of the text.” You straightened in your seat at his observation.
“That’s not a bad thing, I’m happy, but did you do so out of your own will?” He asked “I would not wish for you to have done so only as a way to be able to be proficient enough for our next lessons. God knows, my boys do that all the time, such a sore it is to deal with. By then, I’ll have nothing left to teach them” he chuckled bitterly, but fondly “How useless I’ll become then”
“I wanted to read it” you reassured “I saw it in the library and the cover looked intriguing”
Such a simple explanation, perhaps a childish one, too. Wanting to read such a complex piece of literature because the cover was colourful and the pigs on it made you think it was about an actual farm; you would not tell him that last detail, nor that when you had first finished the book, you had thought it was truly about evil pigs and refused to eat bacon for the rest of the week out of the hatred you had grown for the omnivorous, hoofed mammal.
Only when you explained to your father, who had grown more than amused at the sight of you refusing the stripes meat at the breakfast table, why did your third eye open to the true message of the book.
How warm and red your cheeks had beamed as your father gave a hearty and well-meaning laugh at your misjudgment of the text. Only during your third read of the book did you truly comprehend how deep the real meaning of the premise ran - …..You still refused to eat your bacon after that either way, perhaps out of stubbornness or embarrassment, you did not give it too much of a thought to not feel the latter more than you already did.
“And let’s see, why do you think, as Mr Orwell says, that some animals are more equal than others?”
“Some people have privileges others do not possess,” you said, though slightly unsure of your words and thoughts, “and those privileges cannot allow everyone to be equal if only a small percentage can boast about being protected by them”
“That’s one, but it was a good and simple example” he praised you for it, even as you missed the bigger picture of the topic. He could not fault you for it; you were young and you would understand just how deep the issue ran in time. “And those privileges, how do you think they protected those that have them?”
“Well,” you paused, pensive, wanting to give the right answer, as a good student would.
You were privileged, but could you comprehend how deep your privileges ran? You being here, getting lectured in the afternoons by the vice provost of such a prestigious and private academy, was in itself a privilege - one a lot of people will never be granted. Everything you do in your life and will do in the future will always hold an underlining of privilege. You will never escape the nature of the life you were born into, and you fear that no matter how conscious you became of them, there will always be much more you will always remain ignorant of.
Because that’s how privileges are: the more engraved they are in your life, the more normal and common they become the more passive you are of them. The idea of something just being an everyday occurrence for you and being a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for others would surely blow the mind of anyone who has never stopped to ask themselves just how truly favoured they were by luck.
How many would die to sit in your place? Have your life? How many dream of living the dream, even if just for a day? For a moment? To live the life they will never have because you don’t just get to build a life of privilege if you don’t hold any in the first place? The American dream is dead, the idea of it dies the moment someone becomes conscious of just how unreachable such life is with the life they’re made to head. Created during a period of so-called flourishment, people today cannot use the same playbook their parents used to live life today.
‘You work hard, you study well. You make a name for yourself, and you’ll be rewarded for it’, that’s what people were told. Do those things, and everything will just fall into place. People today work twice as much as their parents did and have nothing to show for it because their money gets flushed down the drain to be able to afford to live. People live to work; they do not work to be able to afford to live anymore.
But privileges are not just about your status or wealth, social privileges are the bane of Gotham City.
Even those who get to rise to the top will always be followed by their humble beginning. It’s a plague, a stank that those with their refined noses can smell at first breath. You often wondered why Mr Francatelli, a man who owned his own construction company and had made a name for himself in the industry, rising through the ranks of riches, and now being part of what was considered the elite of Gotham, was often looked down upon by his inner circle, those he called his ‘friends’. Not that he knew about it, and even if he did he was happy enough to pretend he didn’t know about the side glances and nasty, pitiful, eyes cast his way, which you and others were not prone to the same ignorance and indifference as he was.
You always felt bad for Mr Francatelli. He came from a good family, and it’s not like he chose to be born into a family that emigrated from Sicily during the midst of mass immigration in the 1950s from the poorer southern part of Italy. He made the best of his circumstances and made a living of it. Should he then be seen as a lesser being because of it?
You also knew very well how race defined another layer of privileges. Those who form a small group of a minority, whether because of their race or ethnicity, were discriminated against by the majority of white society. Privileges, oppression, stereotypes, and the superiority of being the majority against a small minority were often at the receiving hand of that discrimination. Not to mention that most of the discriminators feel that their sense of being threatened is a good enough excuse for being awful to others.
Violence begets violence. It is utterly ridiculous of the oppressors to act surprised when their victims act out and oppose their oppression.
“Justice can be selective,” said the vice provost when you didn’t continue “Privileges can cover for those that do not wish to be put under the hands of justice, and when justice fails to protect and act upon the victims’ best interests…no one can guarantee that the victims will not take it in their own hands to deliver the justice they best see fit on their oppressors,” he said “That’s when violence becomes justice”
You saw him take a deep breath as if the reality of his own words was truly weighing down on him.
“Perhaps, my dear, Mr Orwell was not so wrong. We are animals, just like everything else on the planet. We feel superior to the urges and nature of animals, bragging about how we’re the most civilised civilisation on the planet, but the truth may just be that we have simply forgotten the laws of the jungle to bend over to those who will tell us who we are and what we must do. Animals can recognise a threat without being told, their instinct doing all the work for them, so why then should we be told by others, those that consider themselves ample-minded, those with a voice strong enough, or loud enough, to be heard, what they think is the truth and should therefore be the truth for us all. Animals do not listen to others, only themselves, they fight to the death for their survival, they use violence for it, and it works for them. So why, then, should it not be for us as well?” He asked in trepidation, blood hot and bumping in his veins, which protruded against his skin as if about to explode “A man, can turn into a pig, and a pig can turn into a man. What distinction will there be between us and them then? Perhaps we’re all just the same….”
You stared at his, stunned by his sudden burst of words, before he continued once more-
“Peaceful protests. Do you know why it’s the form of protest most used by the masses? It is because, were they violent by nature, god knows the many ways they would be labelled. The truth is, that peaceful protests never get those who are willing to make a change anywhere. But those who protest in other ways are seen as troublemakers, breakers of peace, unlawful, violent individuals who break the code of what a good, upheld citizen should be like. Silent and willing to submit to everything the government says.” He scoffed and scowled, “When….all forms of communication fail, between those that care for the citizen and those in charge of said care, there comes a point, and, I must say, so we do not get confused, that I will always repudiate the notion of violence in its many forms, that violence is necessary….to survive. One can say that the methods in which they go on about it may be wrong, but we also need to ask ourselves, what other means are there if not violence? What other forms of protest can be strong enough to oppose a form of government? Some would say it’s terrorism, revolution, war; all forms reputable by the law. But what other way is there to bright light to an issue long forgotten?” He inquired as if exasperated by the question itself, “For how much longer can governments of all the world wish to remain ignorant of the suffering of their citizens?”
“If they have no qualms with ruining our lives, why, then, should we have any for returning the favour?”
You had woken with a startle as the phone on your nightstand broke the quiet of your bedroom with its constant ringing, pulling you out of memories you could never forget. Your head, still drumming from the hungover you were nursing from the night spent drinking at that dinner you had been invited to, throbbed agonisingly. Your hand reached, unsteadily, for the phone handle.
"Hello?" your answer to the call was a slugged murmur, surely barely audible from the other hand of the line.
“Would you like to know the single only advantage to being the one person in charge of his own company?”
Bruce.
Your eyes opened for the first time since you had woken. You looked at the clock on your nightstand, which read 11:30. You groaned as you set up, your bones aching from how long you were asleep.
“Go on” You weren’t sure if you wanted to talk to him, especially when your temple pulsed terribly, but you wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt despite how your last conversation had gone. Exactly what Bruce had hoped for when he picked his phone with the intention to call you.
“I find that I can do as I please” you heard him as you reached for the carafe of water to fill yourself a cup, pushing aside the metal ashtray filled with cigarette buds long smocked “Choose whenever to meet with my advisors, and when or not to send them away to not hear from them, which leaves me free for lunch”
“Well,” you gulped the last drop of your cup “I’ve just woken up”
“It’s 11:30”
“And I got in at 04:00” you confirmed what suspicions he might have had from your previous statement. The slight stutter coming from his end of the phone almost made you startle and ready for his response, so sure you would argue again. Instead, he simply said, “Do you think you can get dressed for me?”
Despite how on edge you were about the entire situation, you appealed to his request and got dressed, although in a rather scruffy and disarray way than usual. The pouring rain last night chilled the air, so you dressed according to the weather and comfortably: a jumper and maxi skirt, nothing eccentric.
You did stumble your way into your clothes, after all. Your driver had made an attempt to chat with you through the ride to Wayne Tower, but your unresponsiveness and lack of care for conversation, caused by your pained head, stiff back, and guts telling you of the possibility of throwing up your dinner from last night being in the cards for you, didn’t make you to be a good conversation partner.
As you sat at the table in the dining room at Wayne Tower, you and Bruce found each other in a rather awkward situation. Who should speak first? Break the ice? You thought that Bruce should apologise about….a lot of things, and Bruce…..well, Bruce, perhaps, thought he had nothing to apologise for. The silence, only broken by the crackling of the fireplace near the table, gave enough time for you to get a better look at each other than you did in almost two weeks.
His eyes were puffy once more, the dark circles that rounded his lower lashes deepened and sunk into his skin and….was that a hint of smudged black eyeshadow you spied in the inner corner of his eye?
In Bruce’s eyes, what he saw was that you were clearly still inebriated, nowhere near being sober from the night before. Your pupils were more dilatated than normal, and your eyes did not often stay in the same place for long, wondering and observing their surroundings like a newborn baby would.
He watched you try to hide a stifled yawn here and there, still not clearly as rested for someone who had spent the entire night out partying Halloween away, and sleeping the morning through. But then again….neither was he. His previous morning disagreement with Alfred in the Batcave, his later unwilling meeting with the accountants of Wayne Enterprises, and having to deal with the steady decline of the company he was supposed to take care of all made for a bad start to a day that had not even begun - especially when he had plans at the ready as soon as the night would fell, having to meet with Gardon about inspecting Mitchell’s garage to see if the ‘ D R I V E ’ in the killer’s note was truly indicative of a car being the next step to whatever clue he had left behind for them to follow with.
“We started at Mirabelle’s for dinner, and then went to the 400 for drinks, and then ended at... " you said as you tried to recount the last stop of your wild night. “Somewhere, I don’t remember, a pub of some sort.” You sipped your glass of water to swallow down all the saliva in your mouth from how dehydrated you were.
“Who’s we?” He asked. Lunch had been brought in by Alfred, who set it before you with great care and a hint of concern, seeing the state you were in. He left as silently as he had come without saying a word. Bruce, across from you, ate his lunch in relative silence.
“Colin, Philiph, Johnn-“The nonchalance in your tone irked him, especially when you mentioned some old classmates from boarding school and HIM.
“Johnny Lewis” he finished for you. You eyed him unsure of the edge his words held and where it came from as he named out Johnny. You took another sip of your water, downing it almost as if it were a shot, now because of the sudden dryness of your troath.
“Yeah”
He let the silencing hang for a moment as he went back to eating his lunch, the cluttering of his cutlery filling in for what you were sure to be reprimanding words. Surely disappointed in the company you surrounded yourself with, no doubt.
“You need to be more careful” he said and you smiled as you reached for your bag to pull your cigarette case and a bottle of pills, his eyes resting on the latter, skimming over the label on the small glass.
Librium
“Quite right, grime and grapes don’t mix”
“I mean, about where you’re seen,” the sharpness of his tone accompanied his hand flying to meet head-on with yours on the case. “And with whom” his utensils cluttered as they fell onto the plate before him. The sound rang in the air as you two stared at each other, a fire in both of you that had been burning and raging for some time.
“Why?” You, ever defiant, asked in the same tone as the one he had just used with you, making it clear you would not back down without a fight.
“You know why,” he said, “you think you can go guzzling around all the alcohol in the world, especially now more than ever?”
You stared at him, confused by his last word, though no less stone-faced than before. Uncertainty clouded your mind, clashing with the haze still lounging in it in a combination of alcohol in your system and the dizziness of sleep, as it often did when you were unfamiliar with the subject of the conversation you were put in. You hated being unprepared for a debate, even if this was no debate. Unreadiness was a weakness you could not afford in your field of work. Getting laughed at or used to the advantage to propagate an opposing point was often the result of it. Your hand itched with the want to take the bottle of pills and swallow them whole.
His eyes moved across the features of your face until they landed on your eyes. Your eyes, no matter how hard you could conceal things with your face, your eyes always spoke the truth. They’ve never lied, not to him.
“You don’t know, do you?” The edge of his tone was gone, now replaced by a softer, more comforting one, as if he was about to tell you about some terrible tragedy, handling you like a wounded deer. And maybe a tragedy it was, simply not for you
“Mitchell is dead”
“When?” You asked simply after a moment of contemplation, as if not fazed at all by the revelation, or maybe you were. It was something Bruce had always envied of you, being able to control yourself in front of others, whereas he was often overrun by his emotions, even when he would wish for it not to be the case.
“Last night,” he said, and your eyes immediately moved towards the copy of Gotham Gazette beside him on the table. Your way. It was the same copy of the magazine that his gaze had shifted to distractedly during his meeting with the accountants. He tried to shield it from your view, but your eyes were already set upon him predatorily.
“You shouldn’t—" “Let me see,” you both said over the other, and silence ensued. His eyes begged you to listen to him; he didn’t want you to see such a gruesome scene, one he thought was so reminiscent of one you had the displeasure of witnessing in your father. But you always wanted to have your way, he could see it, and you would not give the matter up until you would see for yourself. For a moment his eyes drifted once more to the bottle of pills still on the table, ensuring in him the idea that you really shouldn’t be seeing anything that was reported of Mitchell’s death.
You reach out, gently placing a hand over the fist he had involuntary clenched, knuckled white and raw — it was then that his resolve began to crumble as it often did when it came to anything related to you in any way.
“Bruce”, your voice was soft and mellow as a marshmallow, and he thought he could almost taste the honey his name dripped with as you spoke it “Let me see” you say softly, your voice filled with compassion and reassurance. I can take it, he could almost see your eyes tell him.
He looks away again, his jaw clenching as he fights with himself. Finally, he lets out a defeated sigh, his shoulders slumping slightly as he reaches for the gazette, handing it to your eager hands.
Beneath the big, bold letters that frase the name of the journal, the headline read “MAYOR MITCHELL DEAD” followed by “ACTING MAYOR TOMLIN TO RUN IN HIS PLACE"
You reach for the newspaper and open it. As you do so, Bruce’s eyes study you, intently, silently, wanting to see your reaction to the murder’s report, to see if you knew nothing, if you could tell him about something you might know about it, mention it, even if just in a passing manner. That’s why he had asked you for lunch - to interrogate you, which the moment you had shared made him forget about. Interrogating you was the least of his concerns right now.
You interacted with Mitchell well enough in the past to be familiar with him, even before you had entered the world of politics. You both had, truth be told. Bruce remembers how flauntily Mitchell would show and promote himself during those galas you both attended before his parents had died. At the time, Mitchell was a young man, fresh out of college, ready to take on the world in all the wrong ways.
You both often sat on couches in lonesome corners he would lead you to after he’d see you cover your ears, the chattering becoming too loud for you to handle, for your sensitive ears and eardrums to bear. You followed after him like a baby duck, in your pink, frilly, dresses your mother would dress you into, still disoriented and unaware of the chaotic surroundings he had become accustomed to over the years. Of those nights, he remembers most the way his mother would smile his way at how gentlemanly he was with you, with approval and motherly pride in her eyes.
The longer he stared at you, the longer the original purpose of the lunch slipped from his mind. The silence, the crackling of the fire, you sitting beside him, in clothes that he could see you wear on a stay-in Sunday morning where you two did nothing but hang around the living quarters of the Tower, lazying the day away, the sound of you flipping the pages of the gazette, the lightness of the air, were all somehow comforting. He almost thought that he could see a future like this for him….
As Bruce’s mind cleared of all its mess, yours filled with conflicting and clashing thoughts. You stared at the sea of letters, wheels turning, as you sat the gazette back down on the mahogany table. The closed-up photo of Mitchell, slumped against the chair of his study, with his head duct taped, and with the clear message, the killer intended to send written upon it, leaving you with conflicting emotions.
It wasn’t the duct tape, or the blood dripping from his head, but rather….the way he was found.
You could see it,the image in front of you clearer than a memory you had lived and once more a reality. Standing at the foot of the entrance of your father’s study, wide-eyed, at the still form of your father in his armchair, blood dripping from the gunshot wound on his head, lips parted and eyes absent of life, as your mother’s wails of pain and heartbreak rang in the background as the police officers tried to calm her, while your younger siblings were ushered away from the scene…
You didn’t want to admit it, but you didn’t particularly feel anything as you read about the gruesome murder. Mitchell, you had spent most of your life abhorring him, could such feelings evaporate because of something….you thought more than deserving….happened to him?
He had it coming, you almost wanted to think before you chastised yourself for such a thought. You knew the kind of reaction you would get were you to utter them out loud. But Mitchell was not an innocent man as far as you were concerned. His policies and the negligence of the city put in his hands the pain he caused to the poorer and less fortunate part of Gotham. Why should you feel bad for a man who could not care less about corruption in the city as he did nothing about it? When he did nothing for the people that he was sworn to protect and help? Despite so, a man had died last night, and regardless of how you felt about him, you were made to denounce the crime had had fallen victim to.
Who you felt bad for were his wife and son, their pain one you understood well. You made a silent reminder to make sure to visit them later in the day, expressing your condolences, not because you wanted to be seen as the bigger person by the media, who could transcend political differences and come close to one institutional enemy, but because you were a decent human being, capable of empathy and compassion towards those facing injustices. Despite how you met the news of Mitchell’s death with chill distaste, his wife and son were innocent of the sin he drowned in. It is, more than often, the innocents who have to pay the price for the sins of the guilty.
Or so you’d like to think about his wife. Mitchell had a way about him, you had seen it and felt it. He had a rule of thumb over women, his wife no expectation, you were sure. Even you at times had been at the receiving end of it, just as other women of the opposing coalition. Sexist comments, more than inappropriate teasings and innuendos he never let himself hold back in private. After all, he was the mayor, who would dare oppose him? Men like him, prey upon the weak to feel strong because they know they’re not. You couldn’t help but wonder….
You looked at Bruce, who returned the stare, his brow furrowing at the rather serious and pensive look you gave him as you bit your lip. You had a feeling that his negligence for the city wasn’t the sole reason he was killed. If there was something deeper, something more obscene, something arcane about it, you knew he would not be an isolated case.
After all, men like him came in packs.
