Finally got around to finishing, inking, and scanning this one.
It’s the second page of my attempts at fleshing out the types of weapons used by Nummorrian species a bit more -- starting with the K’hyurbhis.
K’hyurbhi (pronounced “kuh-HYUR-bee”) society is divided into eight tribes, many of which have their own signature weapons. Of course, there’s also a significant portion of K’hyurbhis who don’t belong to any of the tribes or who are tied to more than one (usually through parents from two different tribes.) So, you’d expect there’d be a decent variety of weapons among them, right?
Even back in my elementary school years, the early K’hyurbhis usually used at least a few different weapons – spears or short swords and sometimes shields, with some (those who later developed into the Hoi tribe) having a strong affinity for a trident-like weapon called the Shicker – so it wasn’t quite oversimplified to the point of “all dwarves have axes, all elves have bows” even back then.
But watching videos on lesser-known weapons occasionally got me thinking about how there could be a lot more variety. Rather than just “spear, sword, Shicker,” I started thinking that there should probably be more than one version of each. Maybe one of each for every K’hyurbhi tribe, plus extras with no specific association.
The first page covered most of the polearms (particularly those that were some variation on a spear), this page is... everything else, pretty much! Swords, axes, a variety of bludgeoning weapons, knives, and a couple of oddballs.

Originally, I thought I’d probably just do one page of them. At the time I thought I’d be able to fit everything on just one... and it wasn’t even a complete page since I had the K’hyurbhi and some text (removed after I scanned it in) at the top.
I think it was around the time I started coming up with Shicker variants (especially the Shickhammer!) that I realized I could easily fill this page up with just the polearms and I’d probably need a whole other page for the rest. Whoops. 😅

These were at the bottom of the same page as the previous ones, but I wanted to separate them out and post them on their own rather than just... at the bottom of a page full of unrelated stuff.
These odd little things are called “Takkeo,” and they’re basically little floating robotic guard drones. Each one is about a foot wide, and the golden spikes on each corner are capable of generating powerful electric shocks to anything nearby (which can be either targeted at a single entity or spread across a whole area and can be either lethal or just immobilizingly painful, depending on the situation.)
By the standards of the 40 Nherbis they’re fairly weak -- any decently strong Blurby with a heavy weapon can probably reduce one to a non-functional state after as little as two or three blows. But if someone brought them to Earth, we puny humans would be hard pressed to do much more than scratch them -- nothing short of car crashes, heavy objects dropped from great height, or explosives would be likely to cause much damage.
Currently I haven’t decided on who or what invented the Takkeo. Whoever it was, their original design was the version with cute little “eye spots” on the far left.
To the right of that is a similar model that was seen in use by Rupoo cultists in the caves beneath Ihctogo’s surface over 2000 years ago, with the outer shell displaying the “Mark of the Rupoo” rather than the friendlier-looking “eyes” of the original.
The third and fourth are versions in use on modern-day Nummorro and on various worlds with connections to Nummorro. The red-and-orange version on the far right is exclusively used by the Numnum police force and their allies on the internherbi Council of Iklai, seeking out high-level criminals whose schemes extend beyond the range of just one planet. Unless you’re on the run from them, you’re most likely to encounter this type of Takkeo patrolling the outer reaches of the subterranean prison system known as “Anan,” located in the mountains of eastern Ummiboro

First few drawings of the new year, finally filled the page up and got them scanned in!
Upper-left is of course a Yogurt Snail, colored with my new(ish) set of colored pencils since I haven’t used those nearly enough. I made them up back in the high school years, likely around 2003, and have been drawing them ever since. They’re easy to draw and funny-looking so I tend to fall back on these guys when I feel like drawing something but don’t have any particular idea of what to draw.
Upper-right is a Numnum, a species of alien bird-things that I made up around 1993-1994 and have been drawing (in one form or another -- they weren’t drawn with legs until around 1997-1998, didn’t consistently have legs until 2006 or so, and didn’t come around to something close to their current design until maybe 2010ish) ever since.
And on the bottom is a creature I first drew waaaay back when I was something like 5 years old. Basically a giant carnivorous fungus from another planet which lives in desert regions and burrows under the sand, occasionally surfacing to hunt but usually staying underground to avoid drying out. At the time I made them up, my little kid self had just called them “snapping mushrooms” (because of their mushroomy appearance combined with crab-like claws for snapping at things), but of course that just sounds silly... so they’re currently nameless. And also homeless, because their original home planet doesn’t even exist in my current version of the 40 Nherbis. I don’t think I’ve drawn one of these guys since high school, but I really like how this one turned out! No idea what colors I wanted to make it, so I left it black and white for now.

An assortment of random stuff.
First, a combination of Winnie the Pooh and Jafar. Then, Sea Slug Man! After that, Rotten Teeth, the weird spooky bird that apparently can summon the undead. And finally, Roxas and Xion (as featured in Fangirl Extermination Squad, hence the katana instead of Keyblade.)

Somehow forgot to upload this guy with the rest of the FYS: AHS characters! This is Pugh, the vampire. He trains pigeons, teaches them kung fu (and how to write so they can fill out checks to pay his rent and bills when he’s away on trips to some other part of the country.)

Beefoes! They’re an alien species native to the First Nherbi, though the exact planet they originate from is unknown. Their society is mostly centered on the planet Bifiboro, particularly the planet’s sprawling capital city of Koowaer. Though not all Beefoes are criminals, the most powerful group by far in Beefoe society is a massive crime syndicate that stretches far beyond just one planet.
With these drawings I was trying to give these guys a bit more variety in shape and size, rather than drawing them all as rectangles or lumpy circles (the first two on the top row were the “standard” Beefoe designs for many years.)
...as you may have guessed based on their name and appearance, they were originally based on various meat products. 😅

Some 2015-era drawings (one of them colored with watercolors) of a character I’ve been jokingly referring to as “fish-sword girl,” because she still doesn’t have a name even now in 2020. 😅 Also, her fish-sword in both normal and fully charged giant-fish-mouth modes.

An OLD drawing from around 2013.
Xutt is a character I made up waaaaaay back in my elementary school years (I want to say around 1997ish) but never really did much with. I made a terrible OHRRPGCE game with him as the villain during the high school years, but later I decided that I prefer the way he was depicted in my 1997ish drawings and stuff -- not evil at all, more just... weird, and kind of silly? And yes, he liked baked potatoes apparently. I’m not sure how he eats though, since he has no apparent mouth...
I should do something with Xutt eventually... just not sure how or where to fit him into anything.

Some OLD (~2011) colored-pencil drawings of characters from my OHRRPGCE game “Fnrrf Ygm Schnish: Alleghany Hell School.” The link is to the download page for the game -- it’s not done, but there is at least a good hour or two of gameplay time if you want to check it out.

Here’s some SUPER OLD (~2008) drawings of various characters I made up! Top left: Nyaedil, an energy-draining alien lifeform who lives on a decaying old world orbiting a red sun in some distant region of the 40th Nherbi (aka the universe as we know it.) Nyaedil is capable of feeding off of the life-energy of other beings, but their preferred food source is Num Power... Top right: Uraaiynu, half-Burijeoo leader of the hidden city of Yagziknia, located deep within a cave system somewhere in southwest Virginia. Her mother Meija was part of an early Burijeoo plan to infiltrate Earth’s society and prepare for an invasion, but she abandoned the mission after falling in love with a human. 2nd row left: Hooji Mofos, Guardian of the Barfoo responsible for watching over the Middle East and some of northern Africa. Unlike many Guardians, he inherited his position and powers from his father rather than being chosen directly by J’daahi Bunprego. Shown here surrounding himself with an aura of Barfoo power and launching through the air. 2nd row right: The Yagyu Blade, a weapon wielded by Kekyu Arghenplaffer. It is capable of cutting holes in space for transportation purposes, as well as allowing its wielder to communicate with the strange gooey creatures known as Yagyuoo. 3rd row left: The Great Anbell, one of the odd little yellow critters inhabiting the temple where the Num Coin was hidden away. It was chosen by J’daahi Bunprego to protect the temple, and when he infused it with a small portion of the Barfoo’s power it grew to incredible size. 3rd row right: Uraaiynu in her human form. The Burijeoo use transformation magic in order to blend in with other species; this is the form Uraaiynu takes on the rare occasions that she has to leave Yagziknia and go to the surface. 4th row: Thunotsu, the first Kihlah Master of the Zunajin species. He specializes in techniques which generate electricity, such as the electrical barrier shown here. 5th row left: It’s SEA SLUG MAN!! The local superhero of Clifton Forge, VA (though he’s been sighted as far away as Brazil.) Famous for capturing and locking up the notorious “Mr. Molester” back in the ‘80s, he’s also taken down a couple of Beefoe crime lords and, with help from the janitor-superhero Captain Scud, a Santa Claus impersonator who was using ice magic to rob banks. 5th row right: Arkusazzo, bane of the Goueng-Zu ninja clan. She is in fact the great-great-great-great-great-grandmother of Joguo Goueng-Zu, driven mad 200 years ago after she picked up the Uggy Barfoo and something within her clashed with the Barfoo’s power. She was sealed away in a tree after rampaging across Japan for years, but the damage was done -- the Goueng-Zu clan was blamed for the destruction and forced to leave their homeland forever, settling in southwest Virginia.

Some screenshots from my recent OHRRPGCE game project, “Bok’s Expedition.” It’s the story of a group of Blurby explorers who ventured to the distant planet Ihctogo more than 2000 years ago... and ended up stumbling across something more sinister than they expected beneath the planet’s surface.
I started making this game as part of an OHRRPGCE contest where the rules involved limiting yourself to the restrictions of the engine as it existed waaaay back in 1998. So there’s a lot of features I’d normally add to a game that are missing in this one -- descriptions of your special attacks in the battle menus, for example. But it’s definitely playable despite these quirks, and once the “1998 version” is complete I’ll go back at some point and release an updated version which adds various features.
Feel free to follow the link above and play the game’s current version -- I’ll most likely post about it again when it’s completely done!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
The exploration team is led by Bok, the one with the hat. He’s known for exploring remote areas and making maps, as well as for his time spent as a general in the Blurby army during the K’hyurbhi and Blurby War. Bok is pretty well-rounded, with solid attack power and defenses as well as the ability to heal himself and (later on) the whole party, as well as attacking enemies with shockwaves of built-up energy.
Also coming along is the mighty warrior Norgu, who fought alongside Bok in the K’hyurbhi and Blurby War. He’s focused pretty heavily on attack power, and his Wazzu Sword hits hard. He can also jump off-screen for a Blubber Slam attack (which penetrates most enemies’ defenses), and later becomes able to launch a counterattack which deals heavy damage if his HP is low.
Head scientist of the expedition is Ondu, the young Blurby who designed and helped with the construction of their ship. His stats are on the lower end compared to Bok and Norgu, but he brings along a variety of devices to make up for this, from basic blasters to high explosives and even a machine which opens a warp hole beneath the enemy, sending them away to who-knows-where and removing them from the fight instantly.
Finally there’s Crikki, a skilled healer and old friend of Bok and Norgu. As the healer of the group, she can of course restore their HP... but she also carries a knife, and can use it to backstab enemies, completely ignoring their defenses. She’s also capable of attacking with poison, which damages enemies as well as depleting their EP so they can’t use as many special attacks against you.
