HI, PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT YOUR "KAEYA WAS CREPTUS GOLDEN CHILD" HEADCANON? Also, I'm sorry abt the mass reblogs, but I just found your blog and I'm deeply in love with Diluc-
Tumblr media
No worries! It actually brings me a lotta joy seeing someone like my little headcanons so much! Especially if it's my Crepus slander. BUT ANYWAYS
You've probably seen me go off how I don't think Diluc has much self-worth outside of helping people. He bases his whole value as a person on what he can do for Mondstadt. And It's my firm theory that Crepus was never a good dad to Diluc because he pushed his dream on to Diluc and gave Diluc this mindset.
SO Crepus put a lot of pressure on Diluc. In holding up the Ragnvindr name and upholding Crepus's dreams of being a Knight, Diluc was Crepus's second chance. It's also my theory that, well on the broad strokes, Diluc looks like his father in the little details he is much closer to his mother. And that hurts Crepus cause I'm sure he deeply misses his wife. I think it would be much hard for Crepus to really see Diluc as an actual child and a son. No Crepus sees a ghost, and he sees failed dreams in Diluc.
But then Kaeya comes along...
And Crepus always wanted more kids. But that turned into another failed dream when his wife died. But then he sees this little boy outside his house alone and abandoned. And he sees the chance to truly have a child. To love and adore, without the worry of more failed dreams or pressure of the family name. He doesn't also have to see the ghost of his wife in Kaeya. Kaeya is entirely his own kid, and we already know Crepus and Kaeya have an appreciation for wine and finer things where Diluc does not. I think Crepus and Kaeya would just have more in common, thus getting along better.
Diluc would also be the older one. So if the boys got in trouble together. The fault would be on Diluc because "he should have known better". I don't think Diluc ever realized the difference in treatment because he was already living with the burdens Crepus put on him. And this would just be another one... But maybe an easier one to carry.
Also, in Kaeya's Vision story, he focuses on Crepus welcoming him with warm arms. I think Kaeya's better treatment was a factor for him giving to THE INCREDIBLY POORLY TIMED CONFESSION. Like Diluc's reaction that that was absolutely reasonable, well Keaya's is ????? Just why, man??? Why of all times did you pick right then??? You could have given yourself and Diluc a little more time to grieve. Especially in a sworn brother context, implying that their relationship was built from trust and personal experience over having the same father/adoptive father.
I am the CEO of Crepus Slander LLC, and I will defend that self-appointed title till the day I die. Cause no way in hell will I believe Crepus was indeed a good father to Diluc, but he was a 'good father' to Kaeya.
