i am absolutely not finishing sekiro anytime soon

i recently found out about this fun flowchart which works as kind of a map for sekiro (it doesn't really have an in-game one). it has already helped me a bit but i also realized just how much Video Game i have left. i'm only now after almost 16 hours of play close to finishing the very first 2 areas on the far left...

i've only got the bosses left there, and need to beat them to progress. i've been able to get Gyoubu Masataka Oniwa down one health point pretty consistently in my 4 or 5 tries! i think i'm still doing something wrong while dodging though. like there's a trick to it i'm missing. maybe i'll just look up if that's really the case? i haven't touched Lady Butterfly since i last stopped playing a few months ago or so, but if i feel myself getting sick of the castle gate guy i'll switch over there.

speaking of, i keep taking long-ish breaks between playing this. i've just drawn a ton in the past few months which didn't leave space for games (i'm more chill about that at the moment) and also slept horribly which didn't give me the ability to focus. but going back in was pretty much fine! i kept mixing up the 2 back buttons for a bit (& i still do now, occasionally), but no major problems. it probably would've been different if i'd been playing something else that controls a similar way, but the other games i'm playing are puzzle or narrative-focused.

all in all i'm still having fun with this and i don't find myself as frustrated as i thought i'd be. maybe i'm just kind of okay at games...?!?
