my two week vacation was a disaster and i have quite literally never been more glad to come home to the grey pissing rain of glasgow
#finally visiting cuba was cool though#extremely eye-opening in the sense of how much american propaganda is pumped out about it#like i went there expecting like...EXTREME poverty#i mean people starving in the streets kinda poverty#and there obviously is a lot of poverty and social issues but it's not even half of what i'd been told to expect (jamaica was SO MUCH worse)#there's wifi and branded shops and normal grocery stores and modern (non american) cars and bars/restaurants...#and i don't just mean in the wealthier parts of havana only either#the 'bad' parts of the island looked p much like the 'bad' areas i've seen in america/england/etc with with nicer houses lmao#xel-ha was also a cool visit#everywhere else was whatever tho
