My thoughts on THC ep 8
The new pairs?? Amazing. I'm so glad they switched it up
Fuaiz and Ta's VegasPete scene could have been so gut-wrenching but the cowboy costumes and background killed the whole vibe. They really made it hard for them. I couldn't take them seriously at all and started to laugh during a scene that I expected to make me cry.
When Mio and Copper held hands before their scene and Tong said that's what Mile and Apo always do <3<3<3
Mio and Copper were so smart to use the coat instead of a knife - and then even quickly explained why there was only one coat!! They definitely could have been a little more "aware" of their (imagined) surroundings, I agree with the judges there
Mio and Copper's reactions during JJ & Jet's scene (they were fangirling so hard and I GET IT)
JJ AND JET BLEW MY TITS CLEAN OFF HOLY SHIT they added dialogue in order to adapt to the scene change and even the new stuff was sooo in character!! And JJ actually went for the kiss... their performance really pulled me in and the tension was so palpable... I might need a second to recover from JJ as Kinn...
The fact that Mile had to clear his throat and collect his thoughts before yelling "cut" says it all
HOWWWWWWWW did we get from "there was supposed to be a kiss there" "yeah, but he seems hesitant to do it" to THIS- holy SHIT New and Bump what the FUCK
Also, the "actors are over 18 years old and got permission from their parents" LMAOOOO imagine *calls mom* "Hey mom is it okay if I kiss a boy and then he pushes me on a bed and goes to town on my neck?"
Mile yelling "cut" before it gets too spicy lmao too late the fanfic is already being written
"We rehearsed 100%. I thought we only performed 60% of it today." WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN NEW IF THAT WAS 60% THEN WHAT IN THE WORLD WERE THE OTHER 40?????
Also New trying to collect himself after the cut - not just as Bump gets off of him but even after he gets up. Same, babe, same.
TONG ASKING THE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS because let's not forget these are inexperienced actors who didn't have an intimacy coordinator helping them so DID YOU TALK ABOUT HOW FAR YOU WOULD GO is the first question anyone should have asked (ideally before even starting with rehearsals but okay)
LMAO Tong and Apo being like "you deadass didn't have to make out for real tho - when we film we use camera angles and imagination" yeah um you literally could have told them sooner
I feel kinda bad for New. He always gives 110% and ends up trying too hard and it seems like his only response to problems/failure is to try harder and harder. He gets so lost in the characters he has trouble coming back out of them and ends up overacting and losing sight of essential points. He's doing it all and he's doing too much.
Everyone made so much progress. Even the ones that didn't do that well learned something from it. They should all be proud <3

Not only was it ultimately "rigged" due to popularity, it was just entirely scripted but in the worst ways possible. These are my notes to further color in the show for DFF enjoyers who are considering watching.
Like OP said, in the first 3 episodes, there was one secret reveal each: 1) used to be homophobic, 2) hit abusive father, and 3) pulled out tooth to match childhood crush. They ended each of these eps with a round table themed discussions around society, family, and love, respectively, but these eps were absolutely just damage control for the first two secrets, probably things in the cast's past with evidence (facebook post and in JJ's case maybe records) that could be dug out. Although Mile, as the host, supposedly "pulled cards" to pick the secrets, I would be shocked if there were any other secrets to be picked.
I do actually think they had an interesting discussion around the "homophobic" secret, as Max, whose secret it was, explained that he was targeted and called gay when he was young, and started saying homophobic things to try to convince others he wasn't. He said that he was trying to uphold expectations of his family to get married to a woman, have kids, etc., (after which they cut him off but it seems to be an allusion to comphet) but the whole discussion rings hollow when it's clearly framed around damage control.
As if to PROVE the show is very good with gay, Pond prompts comments from Perth, who is the least traditionally masculine of the cast, and Woody, the openly gay cast member, who shares a heartfelt comment to his family.
Perth get eliminated FIRST at the end of ep 3. and acts as the host for the next 3 episodes, the beach games portion, where they played to win ultimately irrelevant tokens. At the end of said beach eps, Max AND Woody get eliminated, right before the acting portion starts. While I'm glad Mio and Bump were saved, as they end up being my favorites, they exploited Perth, Woody, and Max's stories just to eliminate them before they can actually show their talent in acting, which is, theoretically, the point of this show. Just not a good look.
It was clear who BOC wanted in the acting finals AND in what pairs. Because Ta would likely win due to popularity vote, the show's goal seemed to be to make a compelling Ta pair in TaCopper, who pick EO despite not seeming to be especially close at the time of filming the THC. Unfortunately, they ended up having IMO the weakest performance of the final pairs (though they have grown tremendously since and match better in DFF).
Despite being heavily scripted, the show doesn't build compelling narratives for TaCopper or anyone else. The only one I recall is Bump's two episode storyline about how he didn't get picked for beach games but his friends all helped him in the end. Mildly endearing but should not be the only narrative I remember.
Additionally, there are issues encountered in the show that necessitate professional support that the cast members are just not offered, at least on screen.
During investigation of JJay's secret, the cast all call their family and EVERYONE is in tears during the whole segment. They all express their immense stresses during THC, and not only is it confusing for the audience as until now we have little context for their sacrifices to be in the show, there was no resolution shown on how they manage these emotions.
Also, most of the cast are new to acting with the exception of Fuaiz, but they are put in the impossible position to act out scenes of high intensity/intimacy with little guidance for navigating that between actors. Fuaiz, Mio, and Bump were 17/18 at the time of filming, so there should not have even been the possibility of them participating such scenes.
However, in ep. 8, not only do Bump (18!) and New do the handjob scene, like OP said, they CHANGE the setting of the scene 5 MINUTES before the performance to a bedroom, which completely disrupts the staging and movements planned by the actors. The show changed the settings for all pairs to see how well they "adapt" but that is OBVIOUSLY especially problematic for intimate scenes. During practice, the acting coach makes a point of saying "intimate scenes needs practice and communication", so why choose this scene, for this specific challenge, at all?
All that not to mention the incredibly odd judging process and appearances of the KP cast. While I watched KP, I wasn't attached to any of the cast except Jeff and Barcode, and unfortunately I can absolutely see how you would walk out with a less positive image about the ones who appeared, even as a fan.
In summary, BOC somehow managed to make a show that both fails to well establish its upcoming talent while squandering it existing pool.
If DFF made you fond of a particular actor, I would suggest looking up clips from THC instead of watching the show, and even then prime yourself for some uncomfortable "reality" television
I know this post is only for like two people, but I’m going to make it anyway. So, my obsession with Dead Friend Forever finally reached critical levels and I resorted to binge-watching The Hidden Character just to get more content. For those that don’t know, The Hidden Character (which they literally call “THC”) was the reality show Be On Cloud used to cast DFF. It is bad. Like really bad. And not in a it’s-so-bad-it’s-good-type way. It’s one of the most exploitative pieces of media I have ever watched. I walked into it with a favorable view of BOC, Mile, Apo, and Pond (the CEO), and walked out of it hating all of them.
A small collection of things that happened over the 11-episode run:
Everyone was told that they had to share every single aspect of their life with the viewers or they would be eliminated. And, in fact, the first person eliminated was told that it was because he wasn’t being open enough with the audience. They filmed these boys—one of whom was only seventeen at the time—talking explicitly about their sex lives. Which is, of course, fine to talk about. It’s not fine to air it on television! Even some of the games themselves contained sexually suggestive content (i.e. Which do you prefer "eating" with—your hands or your mouth? If you were to cheat on your significant other, would it be just sex or a full-blown affair?)
During the first part of the show, everyone had a secret that the other players were supposed to guess. One of the player’s secret was that he used to be homophobic. (Questionable casting for a company that only hires men, but I digress). He was praised for having changed his mind. In contrast, JJay’s secret was that he was raised in an abusive household and had once hit his father. Pond crucified the poor guy for this. He made him sit there in front of the whole cast sobbing and apologize for hitting his dad who was an abusive asshole.
After the first half of the show—which served absolutely no purpose at all—we finally move onto the acting portion. This is, after all, supposed to be a talent competition. The judges were so mean. Especially Apo. He was like the Simon Cowell of BOC. There was no constructive component to their criticism. The fact that any of these people are still acting is honestly unbelievable. I would have gone home and cried myself to sleep and then never stepped foot on a stage again.
At one point, each of the groups was assigned a scene from KinnPorsche to act out (because BOC very clearly owns no other IP). One of the pairs was given the scene where Porsche gives Kinn a handjob in the bathroom. I wish I was kidding.
The judges constantly told the contestants to make their scenes feel new and different but any time the actors actually tried to change anything, they complained it was “too” different and the original script was already perfect so who were they to think they could create something better. Once again, Apo and Mile, the original actors of these scenes, are the ones judging them! Like of course they like their version better. What is even happening??
And finally, the whole fucking thing was rigged for Ta to win. Like don’t get me wrong, I love Ta and I think he did a great job, but he was the only one who came into that competition with a built-in fanbase and the winner was chosen by popular vote.
It was all just…baffling. Especially from a company that claims to be trying to change the industry. Like if you want the industry to stop being so exploitative to its actors, maybe start with yourself? It also makes those condescending “how dare you watch our shows just for the NC scenes” press releases they do every week even more annoying.
I have no clue what the reaction to this show was while it was airing but god I hope they never do it again. It literally makes me feel so weird watching DFF now. I feel like those poor kids are being held hostage. Maybe CEO Pond’s been the one under the mask the whole time 🔪

Chat Pile Announces New Album, God’s Country
The LP will be released on July 29th via The Flenser. // Watch a music video for the album’s first single “Slaughterhouse” now.

There’s a sick irony to how a country that extols rhetoric of individual freedom, in the same gasp, has no problem commodifying human life as if it were meat to feed the insatiable hunger of capitalism. If this is American nihilism taken to its absolute zenith, then God’s Country, the first full length record from Oklahoma City noise rock quartet Chat Pile is the aural embodiment of such a concept.
Having lived alongside the heaps of toxic refuse that the band derives its name from, the fatalism of daily life in the American Midwest permeates throughout the works of Chat Pile, and especially so on God's Country. Exasperated by the pandemic, the hopelessness of climate change, the cattle shoot of global capitalism, and fueled by “...lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of THC,” God’s Country is as much of an acknowledgement of the Earth’s most assured demise as it is a snarling violent act of defiance against it. Within its over 40 minute runtime, God’s Country displays both Chat Pile’s most aggressively unhinged and contemplatively nuanced moments to date, drawing from its preceding two EPs and its score for the 2021 film, Tenkiller. In the band’s own words, the album is, at its heart, “Oklahoma’s specific brand of misery.” A misery intent on taking all down with it and its cacophonous chaos on its own terms as opposed to idly accepting its otherwise assured fall. This is what the end of the world sounds like.
Watch (+ share) the music video for God's Country's first single, "Slaughterhouse."
In just a couple of years, Chat Pile has made nothing short of a profound impression on the underground music discourse. Formed in the spring of 2019 by Raygun Busch (vocals), Luther Manhole (Guitar), Stin (Bass), and Captain Ron (Drums), the noise-rock quartet released two EPs that same year, titled This Dungeon Earth and Remove Your Skin Please. Spurred on by both a hearty run of live performances and a swiftly growing online fanbase, Chat Pile became a staple name among its genre contemporaries thanks to its hellish synthesis of noise rock, sludge, industrial, and mid 90’s nu-metal.
God's Country is available for pre-order here.  See Chat Pile on the road this week and look for more news and singles to arrive soon.
Chat Pile, on tour:
May 25  St. Louis, MO @ The Sinkhole
May 26  Chicago, IL @ Subterranean
May 27  Madison, WI @ Barleypop

Visa E9 Han Quoc la gi? Nhung dieu can biet ve Visa E9 HQ

Artist: Defender Title: Beyond Darkness Genre: Heavy Metal Release Date: 13th December 2019 Label: Self- Released Any band that is named after a song of one of my all-time favourites is up to a good start. Ladies and gentlemen, I present: DEFENDER! Of course, I think or hope they named themselves after one of the most epic songs from MANOWAR (if not the case, pls correct me discreetly). These four young men formed this rocking band in 2016, in 2018 the first EP named ‘Rising High’ saw the light of the day. The two songs from the single ‘Beyond Darkness’ have a nice NWoTHM feel to it, one of the bigger influences seem to be ENFORCER and bands like NIGHT DEMON, the style is rather classic, up-tempo metal with speed metal tendencies here and there. The compositions are dominated by impellent guitars, hooks galore and tunes that are so catchy you have to use the word hymn. The two-song single is meant to be a mere foretaste of the coming beast of an album, if they can keep up the pace, quality and raw energy that is clearly audible in just these two songs we, the Heavy Metal scene, are in for a treat. Check out DEFENDER and support them over the web shop and Bandcamp. By the way, thc for the nice press package mates! 8/10 #schwermetallisch #reviews #picoftheday #nwothm #nwobhm #heavymetal #metal #rock #music #metalhead #hardrock #thrashmetal #metalguy #metalmusic #metalband #doom #metalheads #headbanger #powermetal #guitarist #concert #rockmusic #heavymetalmusic #speedmetal #blacksabbath #ironmaiden #doommetal #metall (hier: Neumühl, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_Rsu4pCgd5/?igshid=nvlxq22e3wzg

10 năm giáo viên nên sang Hàn Quốc làm công nhân?
Tumblr media

Having lots of thoughts about Apo today 😌❤️
Sometimes I feel like "serious Apo" (filming, doing photoshoots, giving serious interviews, focused,...) and "goofy Apo" (his default setting) are two wildly different people
I mean look at pictures of him in THC Ep 2 vs Ep 8 😂
That's a whole different guy ™️
Serious Apo wears dark colors, keeps his hair out of his face and has a stern expression that makes his face look even more sharp and angular. He's elegant like a black cat with silky smooth fur.
Goofy Apo wears light colors (lots of yellow), does whatever he wants with his hair (up/down/fluffy/flat doesn't matter) and is constantly smiling, grinning, laughing, moving. He's bubbling with (slightly chaotic) energy like a golden retriever puppy.
AND I ABSOLUTELY ADORE BOTH VERSIONS. 💛💛💛💛💛
