Finally got around to taking good pictures of my 1ST PLACE Professional/Masters Division cookie from That Takes The Cake this past weekend! I can't believe that I not only got it there in one piece, but also back home! And that it placed 1st! Still stoked. ❤ • I used @susantrianos_learntocake no spread sugar cookie dough for the 12.5"×10.5" cookie. Then I covered the entire back of the cookie in black royal icing. The front center of the cookie was flooded in white royal icing, which I then painted with cocoa butter and @thesugarart dusts. Then I used @pmecake clear edible glaze as varnish. The outside "frame" was created with @satin.ice fondant and dusts. I used @marvelousmolds leather impression mat for the frame border. The frame holder is made of solid tempered @callebautchocolate milk chocolate, which was then painted with a mixture of powdered food color and cocoa butter. There are even hinges on the inside of the holder that are painted in @sweetsticksau bronze edible art paint! After 10 years, I finally get to me her. A beautiful person inside and out! The only @fancycakesbylauren - Lauren Kitchens. She was the one responsible for getting me on the Food Network and inspiring me for doing cake shows. I just wish I could have hung out with her more to absorb some of her greatness.
