starting to doubt my interest in the project i accepted to take over.... the more i hear what others are doing and planning to do, the more i understand what ive always been interested in.... i feel really bad to have to bring this up to my supervisor after 2 months of organising etc. but better now than once i actually start my masters? ;-;
#currently my project is heavily bioinformatics-oriented but it does have a more ''immediate'' purpose than any other project my lab works#on imo#but that purpose isnt enough for me to go through two year of purely bioinformatics#thats never been my interest with regards to microbiology#i see it as more of a support thing for actual microbiological ''in the lab'' methods#microscopy has always been THE thing that kept me curious about microorganisms!#i think now i understand better than bacterial (or microbial at this point) physiology might be what im interested in?#this is whats keeping me up at night now lol#fuck meeeeeeee#ill have to talk with my supervisor and i feel like thatll be hard to achieve cuz i dont have a concrete idea of an alternative project#im just not happy about my current choice ):

11 QUESTIONS CHALLENGE
I was tagged by @samthebirdbae
RULES · Always post the rules · Answer the questions given by the person who tagged you · Write 11 questions of your own · Tag 11 people (or however many you want)
1. What’s your favourite thing about trees?
Not really sure I can pick just one? I love autumn when the leaves change colour and spring when the cherry blossoms take over. I love the majesty of big old trees that tower over you. I love the ways branches grow and the elaborate silhouettes they make in winter when they’re bare.
2. When you read the phrase “beefy boys” what do you instantly think of?
Thanks to the lovely obsessive people on tumblr - Sebastian Stan. I don’t think I ever described a body type as “beefy” before stills of Civil War started to flood my dash.
3. How do you like to keep your toenails? Long? Short? Painted? Plain?
Trimmed, but other than that I don’t think much about my toenails. Had surgery to correct an ingrown nail when I was 12 but the doctor botched it, so it’s not tidy. Because of that I don’t paint them or show them off for anything.
4. What’s your go to strange comfort food? Like a really bizarre snack thing you just whip up sometimes, not like grilled cheese, more like putting some tomatoes and cheese in a cup and microwaving it. (mine is a little margarine melted with cocoa stirred in, no sugar if that gives you a better idea what I mean)
I don’t know that any of my comfort foods are all that weird.
5. What’s your favourite kind of art to look at?
Ahhhhh, well, how long have you got? Hah. I studied art before nursing, and was exposed to lots of lovely artists and movements, and still have a great fondness for it all. But paring it down to my favourites - pre-raphaelite, neoclassical and post war abstract expressionism.
6. Do you collect anything?
I’ve always been a collector growing up - stamps, postcards, pens, coins, teddy bears, dragons, ect. I’ve still got the stamps, postcards and coins. The things I collect now are any books on Arthurian literature and Marvel merchandise (although I’m trying to curb that before it gets crazy!)
7. A book (or poem) you’ve read thats just stuck with you and why?
All my books have been packed away since I moved in February, so I'm having to picture the way my bookshelves were to think about this one..... Goddesses in Everywoman by Jean Shinoda Bolen. It uses Greek Goddesses as personality archetypes and helped me understand both me and my mother. There's also a Gods in Everyman version, which I eventually found but haven't yet read.
8. If you eat onions, what kind do you prefer?
Any, I’m not picky.
9. Do you like background noise? if so what kind? if no, which type of quiet do you like?
Most of the time, like 90% of the time, I like background music or tv. I always have music on in the car. It feels weird to go to mum and dads house and they don’t have the radio on and the quiet is eerie (but then, they’re both going deaf so it’s not surprising that they don’t like extra sounds). The other 10% of the time is usually when I’ve had noise around me all day and I get home, there’s some ambient noise from outside like the rain or the wind or the sound of the fireplace, and it’s refreshing to sit in the quiet and just be.
10. Your go to movie when you’re having a bad time?
Legally Blonde or Captain America The Winter Soldier.
11. What do you just love learning about? Something you just can’t get enough of knowing about? So so much. Art, space exploration, the human body, microbiology, artificial intelligence, movies, ancient civilisations, mythology….. seriously, I get super excited at the thought of returning to university next year after this year off, just so I can return to the library.
My Questions:
1- What’s something you still have from childhood?
2 - What’s a new skill that you’ve developed this year? (Or something you’ve gotten a lot better at?)
3 - What musical instruments have you played/wanted to play?
4 - What’s the last reason you spoke to a police officer? (Don’t feel obligated to answer if it’s something you don’t want to share)
5 - Beaches or forests?
6 - What’s your go to feel good outfit?
7 - Who is the closest person to you right now? (Physically or emotionally, is your choice)
8 - What’s on your list of things to do tomorrow?
9 - Favourite birthday memory?
10 - What is your opinion regarding shoes? (Random, I know, but coming up with 11 questions is hard)
11 - Have you ever considered a career in world domination?
I’m tagging @iamagentcoop, @worrisomeme, @thehardveneer, @chanolay, @cyborgtopus, @spacebuck, @awkwardconfusedturtle96, @boldlyluckycheesecake, @chocyofsparta, and anyone else interested. I never know who to tag.
