“iris was a horrible friend to ash” is a tired and disproven criticism but i guess i can at least kiiiind of see where people latch onto that with the “kid” teasing (even if its a silly thing to be THAT angry about, and it doesnt make her a poorly written character at all, people just wont engage with the text here or acknowledge how she grows) but “iris AND cilan were horrible friends to ash” is a criticism that i think comes exclusively from people joining the hate train, only getting their info on the show from backlash and lumping iris and cilan together as one entity, and forming their opinions based on that and not anything from the actual show. because truly what the fuck did that guy ever do.
